[ABC] could occur several times, and there could be random characters around it. I only need the random chars between the [ABC] and [/ABC]. I don't have time to learn Perl :\ Thank you in anticipiation!

  • Restore file's modification time in git

    I understand the default git behaviour of updating the modification time every time it changes a file, but there are times when I want to restore a file's original modification time. Is there a way I can tell git to do this? (As an example, when working on a large project, I made some changes to configure.ac, found out that autotools doesn't work on my system, and wanted to restore configure.ac's to its original contents and modification time so that make doesn't try to update configure with my broken autotools).

It's only alluded to and not actually defined though. Can someone give me a good explanation of what Dublin is? Also, what is its release status and is it going by a different name now?     At present, I'm using something like this to build a list of 10 objects: myList = (from _ in Enumerable.Range(0, 9) select new MyObject {...}).toList() This is based off my python background, where I'd write: myList = [MyObject(...) for _ in range(10)] Note that I want my list to contain 10 instances of my object, not the same instance 10 times. Is this still a sensible way to do things in C#? Is there a cost to doing it this way over a simple for loop?

  • Flash object wont load inside the application but loads in separated file.

    I have a Flash object that loads fine in a static sample HTML but doesnt inside the application. I saw something interesting in firebug. When the page loads the object is loaded two times. In the first one I get a Partial Response status but the content-type of the package is right. In the second time the whole package is transfered but the content-type is wrong! I am using apache 2.2.14.

    I'm writing a script that needs to be called at a random time during the day, but am not sure how to accomplish this. I don't want to waste server resources to run a cron job every minute. I want the script to be called at random, so generating the random times for say a month in advance and then creating cron jobs for each of them isn't what I'm looking for.     I am building a system with a User model (authenticated using AuthLogic) and three user types in three models: one of these models is Employer. Each of these three models has_many :users, :as = :authenticable. I start by having a new visitor to the site create their own 'User' record with username, password, which user type they are, etc. Upon creation, the user is sent to the 'new' action for one of the three models. So, if they tell us they are an employer, we redirect_to :controller = "employers, :action = "new". Question: When the employer has submitted, I want to set the current_user.user_type_id equal to the employer ID. In response: I am using this table structure because each of my three user type models have lots of different fields and each has different relationships to the other models, which is why I've avoided STI. Averell: you mentioned encapsulating... something in the model using a 'setter' method.
