  Hi, I've built a ASP.NET webservice and I'm trying to access it from a Blackberry. I've been testing it out with multiple devices and the simulator and it works fine, but there's just the one Blackberry 9000 (It's not the model, I've tried it out with another Blackberry 9000), and it's stuck waiting for a response from the server.   After following these steps to set up an iphone project with CoverStory, my build fails with two linker errors. Undefined symbols: "_vproc_transaction_end", referenced from: _gcov_exit in libgcov.a(_gcov.o) _vproc_transaction_end$non_lazy_ptr in libgcov.a(_gcov.o) (maybe you meant: _vproc_transaction_end$non_lazy_ptr) "_vproc_transaction_begin", referenced from: ___gcov_init in libgcov.a(_gcov.o) _vproc_transaction_begin$non_lazy_ptr in libgcov.a(_gcov.o) (maybe you meant: _vproc_transaction_begin$non_lazy_ptr) ld: symbol(s) not found collect2: ld returned 1 exit status The second error is similar to above, except for _vproc_transaction_begin. I'm using Xcode 3.2, GCC 4.2 on Snow Leopard. Any ideas what I'm missing?

• JQuery post not working when moving web-app to a win server 2003

  I have build a webapplication using ASP.NET MVC and JQuery. On my local machine this works fine,but when moving it to a Windows server 2003 the JQuery method post stops working. I am implementing a version of a script from http://javascript-array.com/scripts/jquery_simple_drop_down_menu/ into an existing application; however, I cannot get it to work without adding alert('msg...') as the first method within the $(document).ready() call. This has nothing to do with load time... no matter how long I wait, the menu does not work. • Java swing app can't find image

  Hello, I'm making a torpedo game for school in java with swing gui, please see the zipped source HERE. I use custom button icons and mouse cursors of images stored in the /bin/resource/graphics/default folder's subfolders, where the root folder is the program's root folder (it will be the root in the final .jar as well I suppose) which apart from "bin" contains a "main" folder with all the classes. The relative path of the resources is stored in MapStruct.java's shipPath and mapPath variables. Now Battlefield.java's PutPanel class finds them all right and sets up its buttons' icons fine, but every other class fail to get their icons, e.g. Table.java's setCursor, which should set the mouse cursor for all its elements for the selected ship's image or Field.java's this.button.setIcon(icon); in the constructor, which should set the icon for the buttons of the "water". I watched with debug what happens, and the images stay null after loading, though the paths seem to be correct. I've also tried to write a test file in the image folder but the method returns a filenotfound exception. I've tried to get the path of the class to see if it runs from the supposed place and it seems it does, so I really can't find the problem now. Could anyone please help me? Thank you.

  The only way I found so far is System.Drawing.Bitmap.GetPixel(), but Microsoft has warnings for System.Drawing that are making me wonder if this is the "old way" to do it. Are there any alternatives? Here's what Microsoft says about the System.Drawing namespace. I also noticed that the System.Drawing assembly was not automatically added to the references when I created a new WPF project. System.Drawing Namespace The System.Drawing namespace provides access to GDI+ basic graphics functionality.   In our MDI application - which is written in MFC - we have a function to save a screenshot of the MDI client area to file. We are currently doing a BitBlt from the screen into a bitmap, which is then saved. The problem is that some of the MDI child windows have their content rendered by OpenGL, and in the destination bitmap these areas show up as blank or garbled. I have considered some alternatives: - Extract the OpenGL content directly (using glReadPixels), and draw this to the relevant portions of the screen bitmap. - Simulate an ALT+PrtScr, since doing this manually seems to get the content just fine. This will trash the clipboard content, though. - Try working with the DWM. Appart from Vista and Win7, this also needs to work on Win2000 and XP, so this probably isn't the way to go. Any input will be appreciated!

  There are lots of questions that ask this or a similar question. They all give the command that has to be executed, what I don't understand is where do I write this command. I want to permanently increase the heap space for my tomcat apps. I read this page http://javahowto.blogspot.com/2006/06/6-common-errors-in-setting-java-heap.html and it says under the Tomcat section Stop Tomcat server, set environment variable CATALINA_OPTS, and then restart Tomcat. Look at the file tomcat-install/bin/catalina.sh or catalina.bat for how this variable is used. For example, set CATALINA_OPTS=-Xms512m -Xmx512m (Windows, no "" around the value) export CATALINA_OPTS="-Xms512m -Xmx512m" (ksh/bash, "" around the value) setenv CATALINA_OPTS "-Xms512m -Xmx512m" (tcsh/csh, "" around the value) So I replaced the line set CATALINA_OPTS= with set CATALINA_OPTS=-Xms512m -Xmx512m But I still get the error.

  Hi, I have a pdf file attachment saved in the cloud. The file is attached using attachment_fu. All I do to display it in the view is: <%= image_tag @model.pdf_attachment.public_filename %> When I load the page with this code in the browser, it does what I want: it displays the attached pdf file. But only on Mac. On Windows, browsers will display a broken image placeholder. Chrome's Developer Tools report: "Resource interpreted as image but transferred with MIME type application/pdf." I also tried sending the file from controller: in PdfAttachmentController: def send_pdf_attachment pdf_attachment = PdfAttachment.find params[:id] send_file pdf_attachment.public_filename, :type => pdf_attachment.content_type, :file_name => pdf_attachment.filename, :disposition => 'inline' end in routes.rb: map.send_pdf_attachment '/pdf_attachments/send_pdf_attachment/:id', :controller => 'pdf_attachments', :action => 'send_pdf_attachment' and in the view: <%= send_pdf_attachment_path @model.pdf_attachment %> or <%= image_tag( send_pdf_attachment_path @model.pdf_attachment ) %> And that doesn't display the file on Mac (I didn't try on Windows), it displays the path: pdf_attachments/send_pdf_attachment/35 So, my question is: what do I do to properly display a pdf file inline?   i'm trying to define a way to send emails using gmail. it all works fine on localhost but when i deploy to heroku nothing happens. i guess it has something to do with GoDaddy MX records? here is what i tried: ActionMailer::Base.smtp_settings = { :address => "smtp.gmail.com", :port => 587, :domain => "gmail.com", :user_name => "my_user", :password => "my_pass", :authentication => "plain", :enable_starttls_auto => true } i can't change the GoDaddy MX records since i'm forwording some emails from there to my Gmail account. am i missing something? EDIT- it turns out the problem was with my Gmail account. all i needed to turn off the 2-step verification. Problem solved.

We will hire an Oracle developer, but our concern is with the DataAccess code. Will NHibernate make the DB Engine transparent for us? I don't think so, but i would like to hear from developers who have faced similar situations. I know this question is a little vague, because i don't have Oracle experience, so i don't know what issues we will find.
