Googling it only seems to yield solutions involving importing my bookmarks to IE, and then syncing through iTunes. I'd like to skip both of these middlemen if thats at all possible.

  • Site returning 404 header to google, not sure why

    A Drupal site that works fine for regular users returns a 404 not found error when I try to use the W3C validator on it; it is also not being indexed by google at all (which is the main issue but I suspect there is a connection). It is a https:// site with .htaccess rule to redirect any http:// request to the https://. I had had it running in google webmaster tools and thought it was fine, but it turns out I had not added the https domain. After adding the https domain it's also returning the header as HTTP/1.1 404 Not Found Date: Mon, 15 Oct 2012 19:37:43 GMT Server: Apache Expires: Sun, 19 Nov 1978 05:00:00 GMT Cache-Control: no-cache, must-revalidate, post-check=0, pre-check=0 Robots.txt just has User-agent: * Crawl-delay: 10 # Files Disallow: /cron.php How can I check what the issue is here?

    Recently Gmail introduced an HTML5-based desktop notification feature for Google Chrome users (see this). It's very useful, however, the notifications disappear too quickly (in about 5 seconds) and I couldn't find a way to change the display time. Ideally, I would like the notification to stay for a few minutes if there is no user activity (or about 15 seconds if there is user activity). Is that possible?

  • Storing Projects on Google Drive (Cloud)

    I've started using Google Drive for my cloud needs and backing up pretty much everything. I've got the app installed so it auto-sync's all my content in most things. My question is this, I am currently coding for iOS (although this applies to any coding project) and am split on storing my project files on Google Drive while using sync. My theory is that if I did use it, I'd never have to worry about system crashes or lost code before backups, but if I do use it it will be sync'ing a-lot and I thought there might be problems with it detecting changes and trying to sync for example half way through compiling. Bandwidth isn't an issue as I have fast connection and unlimited monthly allowance. Has anyone ever used this, or similar cloud-based sync'ing (dropbox etc) for this and knows whether it works or not or whether there are any potential problems etc.

    I want to move my current Tumblr blog to static HTML blog. Currently I am using a custom domain, I am planning on doing the move when Google sees domain name change. I am considering two options: Buying a hosting service Using GitHub pages Buying a hosting service would probably mean I am going to pay for lots of things that I don't need like PHP, MySQL, e-mail service etc. On the other hand, if I use GitHub pages, I can't use .htaccess file to make 301 redirects. I want to change my URL structure and this is important to me. I was wondering if I use: <meta http-equiv=refresh content="0; url=http://example.com/newurl" /> Would Google see it as 301 redirect, so that I won't use my search engine value?

But, when I installed them on my computer, they appeared to be in Chinese (I am using a Chinese version of Windows 7).     Currently I am loading my supported products from a plist and after that I send a SKProductsRequest to guarantee that my SKProducts are still valid. So I set up the request, start it and get the response in: (void)productsRequest:(SKProductsRequest *)request didReceiveResponse:(SKProductsResponse *)response Now, so far all functions correctly. Problem: From calling the request until receiving the response it may last several seconds. Until that my app is already loaded and the user may be able to choose and buy a product. But because no products have been received, the available products are not in sync with the validated products - unlikely, but possible error. So my idea is to wait until the data is loaded and only continue when the list is validated. (Just a few seconds waiting...). I have a singleton instance managing all products. + (MyClass *) sharedInstance { if (!sharedInstance) sharedInstance = [MyClass new]; // Now wait until we have our data [condition lock]; while (noEntriesYet) // is yes at begin [condition wait]; [condition unlock]; return sharedInstance; } - productsRequest: didReceiveResponse: { [condition lock]; // I have my data noEntriesYet = false; [condition signal]; [condition unlock]; } Problem: The app freezes. Everything works fine if didReceiveResponse is completed before the sharedInstance is queried. There are different threads, the lock is working if wait is reached during didReceiveResponse, everything fine. But if not, didReceiveResponse is never called even if the request was sent. The lock is released, everything looks ok. I have tried to send the product request in a separate NSThread, with NSOperationQueue...without avail. Why ? What is happening ? How to solve the problem ?
