    I am following the Zend Framework quickstart document and got stuck on the .htaccess rewrite rules. I am using this: RewriteEngine On RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} -s [OR] RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} -l [OR] RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} -d RewriteRule ^.*$ - [NC,L] RewriteRule ^.*$ index.php [NC,L] This works find when I access through HTTP, however, nothing is served when accessing through HTTPS. I am using a single directory for HTTP and HTTPS content. I would not want to force HTTPS either. How can I fix this?

    I have always developed my projects using MAMP locally and once done simply uploaded everything to a live server. However, I'm wanting to integrate some FB functionality in my current project and I believe I'm correct in saying that it is not possible to fully test FB integration locally. My problem is I don't want to release the project I'm working on until it's finished (or at least nearly finished!) by placing it on a live server. I don't even want people to see a login screen or anything. Is there a way I can upload everything to my domain for testing purposes but prevent anyone apart from me from accessing the site?

  • Why does DebugActiveProcessStop crash my debugging app?

    I have a debugging program which I've written to attach to a process and create a crash dump file. That part works fine. The problem I have is that when the debugger program terminates, so does the program that it was debugging. I did some Googling and found the DebugActiveProcessStop() API call. This didn't show up in my older MSDN documentation as it was only introduced in Windows XP so I've tried loading it dynamicall from Kernel32.dll at runtime. Now my problem is that my debugger program crashes as soon as the _DebugActiveProcessStop() call is made.     I'm trying to get an app on the WinMo App Store. As part of this, Microsoft App's Store has asked that I need to support landscape as well as portrait. What they've said is OK is: If dynamic switching is implicitly allowed, the app will be tested just as if it supports both portrait and landscape even if only a portrait or landscape resolution is checked. You may explicitly lock the app in one orientation (which means portrait mode if the app does not handle landscape mode functions), provided the default OS orientation is preserved once the app exits. I'd love to do answer 2 - but I can't find any way of doing it - and they won't provide me any other clues - they suggested I ask on the forums... so here I am on Stack Overflow - far better than on the forums :) Anyone got any suggestions?

  • C++ app fails to initialize (0xc0000005), when using C# dll

    Hi, I have a C# DLL, which I call from a native C++ programm. As I use Qt and /clr compiler option did not work I followed this tutorial for a bridge. So I have a VS2008 project (compiled with /clr), which links to the C# DLL and contains the bridge class and the native class, which exposes interfaces to my C++ programm. Another VS2008 project (no .net stuff) calls the native class (statically linked). I had some issues, but now the programm at least compiles. However, if I try to run this programm, I get a (0xc0000005) error on initialization, when I try to use the native class. As this happens on initialization, I don't even see, which DLLs fail to initialize. All DLLs should be in the right place. Any hints? Thank you.

    Hi all, The database of my application need to be filled with a lot of data, so during onCreate(), it's not only some create table sql instructions, there is a lot of inserts. The solution I chose is to store all this instructions in a sql file located in res/raw and which is loaded with Resources.openRawResource(id). It works well but I face to encoding issue, I have some accentuated caharacters in the sql file which appears bad in my application.   • How to check a bool setting in my iphone app

    I have a setting in Root.plist with Key = 'latestNews' of type PSToggleSwitchSpecifier and DefaultValue as a boolean that is checked. If I understand that correctly, it should = YES when I pull it in to my code. I'm trying to check that value and set an int var to pass it to my php script. What is happening is that my boolean is either nil or NO and then my int var = 0.   • S3 file Uploading from Mac app though PHP?

    I have asked this question before, but it was deleted due too little information. I'll try to be more concrete this time. I have an Objective-C mac application, which should allow users to upload files to S3-storage. The s3 storage is mine, the users don't have an Amazon account. Until now, the files were uploaded directly to the amazon servers. After thinking some more about it, it wasn't really a great concept, regarding security and flexibility. I want to add a server in between. The user should authenticate with my server, the server would open a session if the authentication was successful, and the file-sharing could begin. Now my question. I want to upload the files to S3. One option would be to make a POST-request and wait until the server would receive the file. Problems here are, that there would be a delay, when the file is being uploaded from my server to the S3 servers, and it would double the uploading time. Best would be, if I could validate the request, and then redirecting it, so the client uploads it directly to the s3-storage. Not sure if this is possible somehow. Uploading directly to S3 doesn't seem to be very smart. After looking into other apps like Droplr and Dropmark, it looks like they don't do this. Btw. I did this using Little Snitch. They have their api on their own web-server, and that's it. Could someone clear things up for me? EDIT How should I transmit my files to S3? Is there a way to "forward" it, or do I have to upload it to my server and then upload it from there to S3? Like I said, other apps can do this efficiently and without the need of communicating with S3 directly.

    Hello, is there a way (on Windows XP+) to redirect the output of a window created by a process created with e.g. CreateProcess to a window of your own program? I'd like to make a nicer GUI for ffplay.exe which is an open source video player. It is a command line tool, which opens a simple window in which it plays back the video. Can I "capture" this window and display the output in my own program somehow? Thanks for any hints you can provide.

  • Embedded scripting engine in .Net app

    I am looking to replace an old control being used for scripting an application. The control used to be called SAX Basic, but is now called WinWrap. It provides us with two primary functions. 1) It's a scripting engine (VB) 2) It has a GUI for developing and debugging scripts that get run in the hosting application. The first feature it provides is actually pretty easy to replace. There are so many great methods of running just about any kind of code at runtime that it's almost a non-issue. Just about any language targeting the .Net runtime will work for us. We've looked at running C#, PowerShell, VB.Net, IronPython, etc. I've also taken a brief look at Lua and F#, but honestly the language isn't the biggest barrier here. Now, for the hard part that seems to keep getting me stuck. We want a code editor, and debugger. Something simple, not unlike PowerShell's ISE would be fine. Just as long as a file could be created, saved, debugged and executed. I'm currently looking into Visual Studio 2010 Shell (Isolated) and I'm also looking at the feasibility of embedding PowerShell ISE in my application. Are there any other editor's I could embed/use in my application? Purchasing a product is not out of the question. It comes down to a combination of ease of use, how well it meets our needs, and how simple deployment and licensing is for developers. Thanks for the pointers

  • Jquery Mobile app focus-based navigation stops working after switching between pages

    As much as I would like to expand on the details here, I am not able to find relevant information about the root cause of this problem. I am having this issue with my blackberry Webapp which I built using JQM. After few times of navigation from page to page, the application becomes unresponsive on the destination page and I am not able to scroll up/down using the touchpad. If someone had this problem or some clue to the resolution, then that would be helpful. Edit: after doing some research I was able to narrow down the cause of the issue. I am having an issue with focus-based navigation. As I lose focus on the page elements (buttons, input fields, etc) after few transitions among the pages. Edit I had to switch back to the cursor based navigation as it is much faster and do not have the issue faced by focus-based navigation. I removed the entry: <rim:navigation mode=”focus”/> from the config.xml file I found this entry on the blackberry fourms but it haven't solved my problem despite the fact I upgraded my WebWorks SDK to 2.0 from 1.5 http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/Web-and-WebWorks-Development/Focus-based-navigation-hangs-device/td-p/455600 Thanks

  • Is app stability unusually hard with Java?

    Java's extensive libraries and tool support are appealing, but I've never tried developing with it because most Java applications I've used have been extremely buggy. This has me puzzled, because I hear that Java is the dominant platform for enterprise development. Maybe it's fine for server-side stuff but not desktop applications. I'm not talking about things like the long compile/startup times or the random latencies due to garbage collection. This is about things just going wrong. Some of the most common problems I see are: corrupted icons corrupted fonts, in menus usually and editing areas sometimes inaccurate framing of GUI elements dialogs sometimes popping up blank Maybe the problems are mostly with Swing. I've rarely used a Java application long enough to find deeper issues. I can think of a few possible explanations for what I've experienced: It's possible to write stable apps with Java, just harder. Java apps are always buggy and enterprise users just put up with it. Server-side apps are fine because just Swing is buggy. I'm living under a curse and need the services of a good witchdoctor.

    I am in the midst of changing my JPA code around to make use of threads. I have a separate entity manager and transaction for each thread. What I used to have (for the single threaded environment) was code like: // get object from the entity manager X x = getObjectX(jpaQuery); if(x == null) { x = new X(); x.setVariable(foo); entityManager.persist(x); } With that code in the multi threaded environment I am getting duplicate keys since, I assume, getObjectX returns null for a thread, then that thread is swapped out, the next thread calls getObjextX, also getting null, and then both threads will create and persist a new X(). Short of adding in synchronization, is there an atomic way to get/save-if-doesn't-exist a value with JPA or should I rethink my approach EDIT: I am using the latest Eclipselink and MySql 5.1

But I have no experience with server side languages, I have heard the saying "choose one and stick to it" several times in reference to programming. I have chosen coldfusion. Now I have no clue what to do or where to start. Now to the details: It will be a site for food showcases. Food menus sorted by cultural origin, vegetarian or meat kind, etc. Things like that. I intend to build a web site that enables subscriptions, and keeps them updated whenever updates are made. And a commenting system to encourage user feedback. And I would like the site to have a database of food items (as mentioned earlier); from my research coldfusion will enable me to do this. I would like resources that I could go to, and do more research myself. And all recommendations that can be provided. Whether you think I dont need coldfusion, and if I can get this done with just flex and as3.   • Statically checking a Java app for link errors

    I have a scenario where I have code written against version 1 of a library but I want to ship version 2 of the library instead. The code has shipped and is therefore not changeable. I'm concerned that it might try to access classes or members of the library that existed in v1 but have been removed in v2. I figured it would be possible to write a tool to do a simple check to see if the code will link against the newer version of the library. I appreciate that the code may still be very broken even if the code links. I am thinking about this from the other side - if the code won't link then I can be sure there is a problem. As far as I can see, I need to run through the bytecode checking for references, method calls and field accesses to library classes then use reflection to check whether the class/member exists. I have three-fold question: (1) Does such a tool exist already? (2) I have a niggling feeling it is much more complicated that I imagine and that I have missed something major - is that the case? (3) Do you know of a handy library that would allow me to inspect the bytecode such that I can find the method calls, references etc.? Thanks!

  • Problem running VBScript from my UIAccess VB app using MSScriptControl

    I'm trying to run some VBSCRIPT from within my application. This works fine when I run my program from within VB. But once I add "UIAccess=true" to my manifest and digitally sign my exe with my certificate, I am unable to run the code any more. It gives errors when I try to interface with any program saying "429: ActiveX component can't create object: 'myApp.Application'". Anyone have any idea why it would run fine in the IDE but not with an application with uses UIAccess?
