I work for a university, and in the past year we finally broke away from our static HTML site of several thousand pages and moved to a Drupal site. This obviously entails massive amounts of data entry.
What if you're already using a CMS and are switching to another one that better suits your needs? How do you minimize the mountain of data entry during such a huge change? Are there tools built for this, or some best practices one should follow?
Windows has VirtualAlloc, which allows you to reserve a contiguous region of address space, but not actually use any physical memory. Later when you want to use it (or part of it) you call VirtualAlloc again to commit the region of previously reserved pages.
This is actually really useful, but I want to eventually port my application to linux - so I don't want to use it if I can't port it later. Does linux have a way to do this?
I have two pages page1.aspx and page2.aspx, both have code behind with partial classes.
How do i access public property message on page1.aspx from page2.aspx ?
public string message { get; set; }

So, there is going to be one login form; however 1 of 3 types of members will be signing in member_type_a, member_type_b, member_type_c all of whom have some of the same properties, and some whom may have specific methods and/or properties to them. I want the class to be saved to a session variable for use with member area pages.
Any suggestions on applicable design patterns?
I'm using the jQuery UI Button widget to style all the buttons on my pages, but the button on a 'file' type input remains illusive. How do I style this button in general, and can I somehow apply the Button widget to it?
I'm building a new site that consists entirely of:
8-10 pages of static content that rarely changes (like once every few months or once every year)
An image gallery
Since I don't plan to be the primary maintainer of the site, I'd like to use a CMS with some security and a WYSIWYG editor so non-web-savvy people can tweak the site when necessary.
I started out using Drupal, but started wondering if it was overkill. So, two questions: 1) is it overkill? 2) What CMS would you recommend for a project this simple?
Hi everyone.
I want to search my link on other pages by passing url address.
After passing the url it should return some boolean value which will define the existence of my link.
Preferred language ASP.net/C#
If it is possible, Please help me.
Can someone please direct me on how to do this type of setup, i.e. I have a Windows Server with ASP.NET pages and would like to pass those credentials using Integrated Windows Authentication to a Linux-based Oracle DB.
I have some pages that are sent via HTTPS. Internet Explorer sometimes complains about "This webpage contains content that will not be delivered using a secure HTTPS".
I looked in the html source to confirm all content calls (href, src, etc...) are sent via https. My CSS files use relative paths. But I'm still getting these warnings.
Is there an easy way to track down which items are not sent via HTTPS?
Hello,
I created a simple web application which contains web pages and one enterprise application which contains web services and EJBs for my web application. I managed to configure security for my web application. But now how do i propagate this security to my enterprise application on my EJB method methods? so that i can use annotations like @RolesAllowed("") etc?
Hello,
I am using rails 3:
I would like to render a portion of view which is build by a 'notification' method in message class
so I've add in my application.html.erb :
<li><%= render :action => "notification", :controller => "messages" %></li>
The goal of my file notification.html.erb is to display in a red circle the number of notifications in all my pages.
I don't think I am in the good way, any ideas ?
Thanks all :)
Does anybody know how/when/why/who/where of if the JQuery intellisense files live for JQuery 1.4.2. On the Google Code pages the most up to date version that I can find is 1.3.2.
I have a model "news item" which contains text, image etc to display as latest news on several pages in a website.
This "news item" can also be posted to Twitter or Facebook. Is it clean to implement a method post inside the news item model and inject the different post implementations as a strategy?
Or is it better to have a separate application service for this?
Thanks
I have a requirement to track what authenticated users change with regards to the data when logged in. I don't need to track what pages they look at although that could be very useful in future.
I have thought about saving the User Guid but that seems very clunky.
Are there other methods/best practises?
Currently I have an XPS document whose width is too large for the paper. I would like it to print the clipped off contents on additional pages. I have not been successful at finding a setting to accomplish this.
Any ideas for a solution?
What could be the best solution to avoid the conflict of http and https popups in IE?
I have many Secured connection pages where i face this popup in IE, I want to handle it how to do that?
I want to create multiple versions of print-friendly pages from a single page. I am considering to do it in this way: placing several buttons on the original page and, clicking one button will popup a new window with the same html as its parent window, but with some modifications (e.g., set display attribute of some DIV's to none).
It is possible to use javascript to do this?
I want to write extensions for Mercurial. What are good resources such as tutorials, guides, API reference or maybe even a existing extension that is well commented and easy to lean from the source.
So far, I have only found the short MercurialApi and WritingExtensions wiki pages.
Hi
I need to restric access to my admin folder to certain people. Those with no authentication ticket should be redirectered to a "not allowed page". How do I identify all pages in my admin folder. I have so far but is it OK?
If url.Contains("/admin") Then
'If authentication ticket incorrect then
`Response.Redirect("~/notallowed_admin.aspx")`
End If
And not, I cannot use my web.config for this particular issue.
Many thanks
I have an Admin folder which contains 4-5 aspx pages. I want to that only user with role="admin" can view those files. What settings i need in web.config?
I would like to download documentation of the Drupal hooks, and whatever else would be useful. I've been saving a few pages piecemeal to my hard drive, but it would take too long to download the entire api.drupal.org this way. Is there someplace where I can get it all at once?
