• jQuery / Dynatree: How to use Json or ul/li together with IFrame sample

  Hi I'm a newbie with dynatree, but happy that i've found this supercool plugin. On the dynatree site, I've found an example how to use it with IFrames http://wwwendt.de/tech/dynatree/doc/sample-iframe.html I was able to adapt the IFrame example successfully. But i'm a bit stuck here, because I'd like to load the tree either via UL/LI or better, with Jason/Ajax. my problem now is, that I dont understand how to provide ther url/links with LI or Jason, so that clicking an entry still opens the linked site in the iframe. Also don't know how I have to format parents/children/subchildren in Json.. Would anybody be so kind to give a sample with iframe and jason/ajax or iframe with ul/li? Thanks a lot :-) G

• Image map popup on rollover, with popup text drawn from database

  I have a custom map of the USA with about 20 polygonal hot spots. I would like a box to pop up next to each hot spot on hover, with text and links drawn from my DB specific to the location. I would have thought this is a common situation, but I can't find a solution that works. I tried using an asp:imagemap and an ajax popup extender but you can't assign IDs to hotspots and it doesn't support mouseover events. I tried css with an html image map but I can't figure out how to use css solutions with polygonal hot spots, and I also don't know how to link it to get the data from the db without asp targets (I'm not very familiar with jquery, which would work, I am guessing). Anyone know of any simple-ish solutions out there?

• Django not recognizing django admin urls

  I just registered my models my models with django admin. I navigate to the django admin at /admin. I log in sucessfully and I can see all my models. great so far. But now if I try to click one of the links, for Ex: 'users', django gives me a 404 saying The current URL, admin/auth/user/, didn't match any of these. Its really weird because in my urls.py I have it mapped correctly (r'^admin/', include(admin.site.urls)), I have all the required middleware enabled and have these in my installed apps 'django.contrib.auth', 'django.contrib.contenttypes', 'django.contrib.sessions', 'django.contrib.sites', 'django.contrib.messages', 'django.contrib.admin', anyone have any idea? • jQuery issue - #<an Object> has no method

  I've tried a veriety of jQuery plugins recently and I keep getting this error … … regardless of what plugin I try to use. I've checked the links to the JS files which are all there and working fine. I'm using Drupal if that makes any difference. I've run the plugins away from the main site to demonstrate that they are working and that I am doing things right with 100% success. Any ideas? • Redirect issues on rackspace

  Hi, i'm trying to setup 301 redirects on a rackspace account- this is what I want to happen: www.test1.com/sub/index.asp - www.test2.com/index.asp test1.com is a new PHP version of an old ASP site (a subsection of which is now at test2.com), so any previous asp page links to the test1.com/sub/ need to go to the same page name at test2.co.nz. I've got folder redirects working fine using .htaccess, ie in test1.com/sub/ RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.test2.com/$1 [R=301,L] but anything with .asp doesn't redirect, but is trying to be handled by the server. I've also tried a web.config in test1.com/sub/ ie: <configuration<system.web <urlMappings enabled="true" <add url="index.asp" mappedUrl="http://test2.com.com/index.asp"/ <urlMappings </system.web </configuration this gives a 500 internal server error Any ideas?

• Android - Barcode Scanning, Options? Zxing?

  I want to create an application for Android that will be able to scan barcodes, get the information contained within the barcode and then be able to use that information in some way.   I'm trying to automate in a WinForm using a WebBrowser control to navigate and pull report info from a website. You can enter values in textboxes and invoke the click events for buttons and links, but I have not figured out how select a option drop-down .... in a automated way. I would like to see an informative example of such setup, so I could build my own project off that. I tried googling, found some pretty things like S#arp Architecture, an article about regular ASP.NET (WebForms) integrated with the frameworks and so on. Still, I'm missing a good tutorial on ASP.NET MVC & the subj. P.S.: I do know how Spring and Hibernate works, I just need to plug them into an MVC application. • Suggestion on algorithm to distribute objects of different value

  Hello, I have the following problem: Given N objects of different values (N < 30, and the values are multiple of a "k" constant, i.e. k, 2k, 3k, 4k, 6k, 8k, 12k, 16k, 24k and 32k), I need an algorithm that will distribute all items to M players (M <= 6) in such a way that the total value of the objects each player gets is as even as possible (in other words, I want to distribute all objects to all players in the fairest way possible). I don't need (pseudo)code to solve this (also, this is not a homework :) ), but I'll appreciate any ideas or links to algorithms that could solve this. Thanks!

• Is git / tortoisegit ready to replace snv / tortoisesvn on windows?

  I've been using svn thru tortoise and svn:// protocol on windows for a couple of years and I'm pretty comfortable with it. Nevertheless tThere are a couple of features I'd like to hove, mainly shelves (something like local commits) and easier branch / merge support. From my experience, svn / tortoise on windows is rock solid stuff. I was wondering if git / tortoisegit has achieved the level of maturity and stability so as to be a replacement for svn on windows. • ASP.NET - Extend gridview to allow filtering, sorting, paging, etc...

  I have seen threads on many sites regarding extending the gridview control so obviously this will be a duplicate. But I haven't found any that truly extend the control to the extent that you could have custom sorting (with header images), filtering by putting drop downs or textboxes in header columns (on a column by column basis) and custom paging (one that doesn't return all records but just returns the ones requested for the given page). Are there any good tutorials that show the inner-workings of the gridview and how to override the proper functions? I've seen several snippets here and there but none seem to really work and explain things well. Any links would be appreciated. Thanks!

• LinkedHashMap vs HashMap != LinkedList vs ArrayList

  I have read that LinkedHashMap has faster iteration speed than HashMap because its elements are doubly linked to each other. Additionally, because of this, LinkedHashMap is slower when inserting or deleting elements. Presumably because these links also need to be updated. Although I can see an analogy to LinkedList vs ArrayList, in that the elements of LinkedList are also doubly-linked, I read that it iterates slower than ArrayList, and has faster insertion and deletion times. Why is this? Perhaps I am making a mistake somewhere? Cheers1

  hi I am building a new web site in asp.net, and im newbie with using maps. For my web site i will need the following functionality: display a map of specific location. display route map between two or more location calculate distance between 2 locations. I found most of the functionality at the Bing Maps interactive SDK site: and it works fine. My questions are: does it cost money to use this SDK ? for the third task, i understand that i will have to use MapPoint Services. (is there another way??) does it code money to use it? • Mac Quick Look Preview in an NSView or NSImage?

  I am looking for a way (public or otherwise) to get an NSView, NSImage, CGImageRef, etc that shows the QuickLook preview for a file. Essentially the equivalent of QLThumbnailImageCreate() but for the preview. The public APIs I can find do not support this. They allow the creation of a thumbnail image or a QLPreviewPanel. The panel does in fact display the quick look preview, but I cannot get access to the preview's appearance to embed it in other views, nor can I display multiple previews at once. For background, I am writing an app where users can embed links to other files that should be displayed inline, kind of like an <img> tag in HTML. For images like JPGs and PDFs it's easy to figure out what to display. I thought that for other formats I would use Quick Look to generate a nice visual representation of the file's contents. This way the set of formats supported by my application would be easily extensible (just download new Quick Look generators).

• [BUG] gc_sweep() with ruby 1.8.7

  I have a rails app being developed with mongrel 1.1.5. I can run the app and click on 3 or 4 links, but after that mongrel always crashes with an error: [BUG] gc_sweep(): unknown data type 0x0. It happens on both windows 7 and mac os x snow leopard, so it has to be something in my code, or something wrong with ruby 1.8.7 (less likely). Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a fix or likely cause? thanks edit: interestingly, it does not crash when deployed via heroku.

  I'm trying to convert a database-driven multiple-choice-style study website (written in JSP) into an iPhone app using JQTouch. If I load all of the Q&A's into their own divs in the same file I can easily link and animate between them using links to hashtags, like: a class="button" href="#question22" Unfortunately this isn't practical. The logic of the website as it currently works requires calls to a number of dynamically generated pages; I can't include every question in its own div in the same flat file. How would I go about dynamically (pre)loading the next question (a JSP page like AskQuestion.jsp?questionId=Kzhctand ) then serving that up within the app after the user presses a button?   I have an website where people can place a vote like this: http://mysite.com/vote/25 This will place a vote on item 25. I want to only make this available for registered users, and only if they want to do this. Now I know when someone is busy on the website, and someone gives them a link like this: http://mysite.com/vote/30 then the vote will be places for him on the item without him wanting to do this. I have read the explanation on the OWASP website, but i don't really understand it Is this an example of CSFR, and how can I prevent this. The best thing i can think off is adding something to the link like a hash. But this will be quite irritating to put something on the end of all the links. Is there no other way of doing this. Another thing can someone maybe give me some other example of this, because the website seems fairly fugue to me.

• Importing AutoCAD/Solidworks drawings/objects into winforms?

  Has anybody done anything like that? I need to import 3d objects, done in either AutoCAD or Solidworks, and draw them into a windows form. I only need the object to be viewed in 3D and moved around - no manipulation required. I am assuming I will need 2 libraries at least, one for a very simple 3D engine, and one to actually get what I need from the CAD/SW files. Autodesk has a SDK available for developing AutoCAD plugins using .NET, but I am not sure if you can use it the other way around - loading files into the .NET app. Any help, links, and ideas are appreciated.

• Facebook Iframe App with multiple pages in Safari Session Variables not persisting

  I have a facebook Iframe application with multiple PHP pages in it. I have some links that point relatively to the files inside my "iframe folder". Having some issues with session variables inside the iframe. I set some session variables but they do not persist from one page to another. This does work on other browsers. I've been reading that Safari does not support Cross-Domain cookies and this might be the problem , but im not sure how to fix this. Any help?

• How to download media content on demand and reuse from browser cache in silverlight

I have a problem with simple silverlight app, this app has a couple of buttons, each button sets mediaelement source to a short mp3 file and plays it, my problem is that when i press the same button second time it re-downloads mp3 file again but i think it shouldn't, instead it should use a copy of browser cached mp3 file that was downloaded when a button was pressed for the first time. I'm using sl4 and links in mediaelement are just simple uri's, i need to make it working in this way that when some mp3 was downloaded it will be cached on the client browser and further click on button will use a cached version of file instead of downloading it again and wasting my bandwidth. Any ideas ?

• ASP.NET MVC2 and AJAX

  I am currently developing a new website utilizing ASP.NET MVC2. Much of what I want to do with the website (from a front-end standpoint) involves AJAX-y-type tasks. Two examples: I want to display forms, and switch between them via a drop-down menu (or through links) without having to go back and hit the server every single time. I want the user to be able to select points on a Chart Control and have portions of the page refresh with the appropriate data depending on what he/she selects (partial page refresh). In both these cases, I am able to accomplish what I wish to accomplish using the traditional web forms event handlers, etc. Unfortunately, the use of a ScriptManager violates the spirit of MVC. It seems as if MVC prevents the use of many of the controls that are available to ASP.NET. So, my question is: how do I use AJAX and make AJAX calls without utilizing ScriptManager and the web forms method of utilizing event handlers?
