Facebook FB.Event.subscribe does not work

I'd like to follow how many likes I get on my page, but something is wrong. I am using the Facebook javascript event handler but it doesnt work. It should alerts me when I click on the like or on the dislike button but it does not do anything. Any idea where I am wrong? Thanks! And sorry for my english. Returning a Value from a jQuery Dialog Button Instead of Running a Function

I'm working on an admin UI and I can't wrap my head around how to get a specific kind of modal behaviour. I'm using jQuery. I already have a system for modal dialogs in place, where an openModal(settings) function opens a modal. Based on the settings, it will show/hide or sometimes inject various dialogs. I also have a generic confirmation dialog and this is the one I'm not sure how to make work. The layout is simple: <div id="confirmation-dialog"> <h2>Are you sure?</h2> <button class="button.yes">Yes</button> <button class="button.no">No</button> </div> I could just hard-code each button to do what I need it to do but I would like this to be more generic. Ideally, I would like it to function like this: (I know this doesn't work) function deleteImportantThing() { if (confirmThis() == true) { // Delete the thing } else { // Do nothing, close dialog } } function confirmThis() { openModal({kind: "confirm"}); // Check which button is clicked, then return true or false } I guess I just don't know enough JavaScript to get this to work, or to even figure out where to look. Any advice? I know there are modal dialog plug-ins out there but I'd have to change how the rest of my modals work to integrate them, and I'd like to do this myself if at all possible.

retrieving and restoring textview information from sharedpreferences

I have an activity that allows user to enter notes and store them in dynamically created textviews. However, when the use leaves the activity and returns, all the created textviews disappear. How can i store store or retrieve all of these created textviews, whenever i return to the activity? Also, i think that my sharedpreferences will be overwriting each time a new textview is added. Can't return data to parent activity

I'm trying to return data (the position of the item picked from the grid) to parent activity, but my code fails. The debbuger shows how 'data' gets right the key and data in the "data.putExtra("POS_ICON", position)" at child activity, but after in onActivityResult() at parent activity the debbuger shows 'data' with no key nor data returned...it's like if data loses its content. I've followed other posts and tutorials but no way. Please help. Is it a bad practice to use divs for styling purposes?

I've seen lately a lot of discussions about this new concept called oocss and I was wondering if it is a bad practice to wrap your main tags in divs only for styling/page layout purposes. I'm asking this because I see some frameworks like Twitter Bootstrap use such a method. What are the implications of such a markup from a semantic and accessibility point of view? One controller with multiple models? Am I doing this correctly?

My web app, up until this point, has been fairly straight forward. I have Users, Contacts, Appointments and a few other things to manage. All of these are easy - it's just one model per section so I just did a scaffold for each, then modified the scaffolded code to fit my need. Pretty easy... Unfortunately I am having a problem on this next section because I want the 'Financials' section of my app to be more in depth than the other sections which I simply scaffolded. For example, when the user clicks the 'Contacts' link on the navigation bar, it just shows a list of contacts, pretty straight forward and is in line with the scaffold. However, when the user clicks the 'Financials' link on the navigation bar, I want to show the bank accounts on the left of the page and a few of the transactions on the right. So the financials tab will basically work with data from two models: transactions and bank_accounts. I think I should make the models (transactions & bank_accounts) and then make a controller called Financials, then I can query the models from the Financials controller and display the pages in app/views/financials/ Am I correct in this app layout? I have never worked with more than the basics of scaffolding so I want to ensure I get this right! Thank you!

wifi provider onLocationChanged is never called

I got a weird problem. I uses wifi to retrieve user location. I have tested on several phones; on some of them, I could never get a location update. it seemed that the method onLocationChanged is never called. My code is attached below.. Android getSelectedItem, how to use?

Im trying use the spinner control result in order to point it to another screen that would be on the app. For example in the spinner control if the user chose chevy it would then take you to another screen which is coded in chevy.xml and Chevy.class. Dropdown menu not showing when using position: absolute;

I've just turned my website into a responsive layout and along the way I've somehow managed to make my dropdown menus not work. When hovering over 'Drop-downs' they don't display unless I'm using position: relative. They worked before using position: absolute - but it seems they only work with position relative now. When using relative it uses the width which messes up the navigation bar. What would be a good Database strategy to manage these two product options?

I have a site that allows users to purchase "items" (imagine it as an Advertisement, or a download). There are 2 ways to purchase. Either a subscription, 70 items within 1 month (use them or lose them--at the end of the month your count is 0) or purchase each item individually as you need it. So the user could subscribe and get 70/month or pay for 10 and use them when they want until the 10 are gone. Maybe it's the late hour, but I can't isolate a solution I like and thought some users here would surely have stumbled upon something similar. One I can imagine is webhosts. They sell hosting for monthy fees and sell counts of things like you get 5 free domains with our reseller account. or something like a movie download site, you can subscribe and get 100 movies each month, or pay for a one-time package of 10 movies. so is this a web of tables and where would be a good cross between the product a user has purchased and how many they have left? products productID, productType=subscription, consumable, subscription&consumable subscriptions SubscriptionID, subscriptionStartDate, subscriptionEndDate, consumables consumableID, consumableName UserProducts userID,productID,productType ,consumptionLimit,consumedCount (if subscription check against dates), otherwise just check that consumedCount is < than limit. Usually I can layout my data in a way that I know it will work the way I expect, but this one feels a little questionable to me. Like there is a hidden detail that is going to creep up later. That's why I decided to ask for help if someone in the vast expanse can enlighten me with their wisdom and experience and clue me in to a satisfying strategy. Thank you.

How to arrange HTML5 web page elements?

I'm trying to make a sample web page to get acquainted with HTML5, and I'd like to try replicating Facebook's page layout; that is, the header that spans the entire width of the screen, a small footer at the bottom, and a three-column main body, consisting of a list of links on the left, the main content in the middle, and an optional section on the right (for ads, frames, etc.). It's neat and displays well in multiple window sizes. So far, I've tried to accomplish this with a <header>, <footer> and a <nav> and <section> block, respectively. There's a few anomalies with the page, however. The footer (which contains a simple text block with copyright info) appears at the top-right of the page below the header when the window is maximized. On the other hand, when there isn't enough space to display everything in the window, it places the main body text below the section. In other words, it keeps moving elements around to fit the window. Could someone please tell me how I'd achieve the look I'm going for? I've tried playing around with a few CSS attributes I read about through Google, but I'm pretty sure I don't know what I'm doing, and could really use some guidance. Thank you!

The failure was a ugly and so individual drives fell out of the array a little at a time. While there are backups, we the are not really done as frequently as we really need. There is some data that I am trying to recover if I can. I got additional hardware and I was able to access the drives again. The drives appear to be fine, and I can get the array and filesystem active and mounted (using read-only mode). I am able to access some data on the filesystem and have been copying that off, but I am seeing lots of errors when I try to copy the most recent data. When I am trying to access that most recent data I am getting errors like below which makes me think that the array size discrepancy may be the problem. missing files after reassemble of RAID-5

I had to open my file-server's housing on Sunday to replace a faulty fan. What I didn't see was that one of the sata-cables was not properly connected. The 1st thing I did after a reboot was a check of the RAID status and it showed immediately that one drive is missing. Till this moment the device was not used (however it was mounted, so I'm not 100% sure that system did nothing). I stopped md0 and re-plugged the cable: mdadm --stop /dev/md0 poweroff After another reboot I checked the removed drive: mdadm --examine /dev/sdd1 ... I recreated RAID with: mdadm --assemble /dev/md0 --scan The command mdadm --detail /dev/md0 showed that all drives were running and system was in "clean" state. I mounted the device md0 and then came hic-cup. I wanted to work on one of the last files that I had been using before all the situation and it was not there. In another place I missed actually all files from the directory where I was working. As far as I can see most of the files that are older than a few days are intact but some newer ones are missing. Now the big question: what would be your advice? Is there a way to get these data? I thought about removing the drive that was earlier labeled by mdadm and rebuild array with another empty HDD. I've found that after re-assemble the "broken" drive has another label (changed from sdd to sdb). Can this have influence on rebuilt process? If yes, how to reassemble the array properly? I'm sure the SATA-cables are connected still in the same order to the controller. p.s. Please no advises like "restore from backup". I'm doing back-ups on Sunday's night and this happened in the late afternoon, so backup is not really options for me. p.s.s. I asked this question on Unix&Linux but no answer came up during last two days. I'm getting quite anxious. Sorry for duplicating if any of you reading the other forum.

Ubuntu 10.04 LTS - Dual monitor works only sometimes (ATI multi-desktop)

I've been using my laptop with an external LCD monitor attached to it at work (Philips 201E). And at home with a different external monitor (Samsung 2032BW). I have an ATI graphics card (HD3450), with Ati Catalyst drivers enabled and I'm using the Single display desktop (Multi-Desktop) seeting. At work I have the external monitor on the left and laptop on the right, while at home the other way around. So when I switch between the two setups, I just needed to go to Ati Catalyst Control Center, change the order of the displays, change the resolution (Home - 1680x1050, Work - 1440x900), reboot and it was all fine. But since a while it doesn't work properly anymore: At home it still works fine. At work it doesn't work. Sometimes it works for some reason, after a few resolution/setting changes in ACCC and reboots... it's very strange and annoying. With the home monitor I can see the whole bootup process on both monitors (laptop + LCD) and it always just works fine. With the work monitor on the external LCD monitor I just see "No video input" until I get to the login screen, then it shows up there as well. But after login it will either: Flicker a few times, but then work OK. Or (more often) Flicker once and then go back to "No video input" again. I usually end up rebooting a few times until it works. Does anyone have any idea for fixing it? Subversion - Retrieval of mergeinfo unsupported

Hi, I've recently updated my Subversion package on Debian Etch to 1.5.1 via a back-port. I've gone through what I believe are all the appropriate steps but cannot for the life of me get past the following error message when I try to merge: Retrieval of mergeinfo unsupported by '.' The '.' isn't important as I get the same message whether I'm SSH'd on to the server or using TortoiseSVN through Windows. I'll take you through what I did to upgrade and test step by step: Update of Subversion Added the following line to /etc/apt/sources.list: deb http://www.backports.org/debian etch-backports main contrib non-free and then ran apt-get -s -t etch-backports install subversion Checked the version of the subversion installation Done this by running svnadmin --version and got the following output: svnadmin, version 1.5.1 (r32289) compiled Dec 11 2008, 18:10:14 Checked the client too using svn --version and got the following svn, version 1.5.1 (r32289) compiled Dec 11 2008, 18:10:14 Ok, so all looking good so far. Now I just need to upgrade the repository. After plenty of research, the most foolproof way to do this seemed to be to dump the repository and then load it again. So here's what I did: svnadmin dump /var/svn/repo > repo.dump rm -aR /var/svn/repo/* svnadmin create /var/svn/repo svnadmin load < repo.dump All that seemed to work fine. I then checked to see if the repository had been upgraded by looking at the contents of /var/svn/repo/db/format which gave: 3 layout sharded 1000 Again this indicated a Subversion 1.5 repository so all looking good. Now I try and do a merge using the Subversion client in Debian: svn mergeinfo https://mysvn/repo . and I get the following error: svn: Retrieval of mergeinfo unsupported by '.' I get the same error message whether I'm using the Debian shell on the same server or if I'm connecting via TortoiseSVN and a Windows box. If I browse to the repository using my web browser, the version number at the bottom reads: Powered by Subversion version 1.4.2 (r22196). In case it helps, the created date on mod_dav_svn.so is 2009-08-06 18:29 I just cannot figure out why I'm getting this message so any help pointing me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated. All the forum and mailing list posts that I found relating to this error were solved by doing an svnadmin upgrade, though I have actually tried that and still no joy. Thanks in advance, James.

Remote installing an msi on citrix servers using WMI

OK, I'm a C# programmer that is trying to streamline the deployment of a custom windows form app I inherited and built an installer for with WiX (this app will need to be reinstalled regularly as I'm making changes to it). I'm not really used to admin type things (or vbs, or WMI, or terminal servers, or Citrix, and even WiX and MSI are not things I usually deal with) but so far I put together some vbs and have an end goal in mind. The msi does work, and I've installed it from the mapped O: drive on my dev machine and while RDP'd to a citrix machine. End Goal: Deploy code written on my dev machine and compiled into an MSI (that I can improve upon within the confines of WiX and whatever the Windows Installer Engine allows) to the cluster of Citrix machines my users have access to. What am I missing in my script to get the MSI to execute on the remote machines? After compiling PHP, I get mod_fcgid: error reading data from FastCGI server

I'm trying to add multiple PHP version in Plesk 12. Switching my domain to the new version PHP 5.4.29 result in this error: (104)Connection reset by peer: mod_fcgid: error reading data from FastCGI server Here is phpinfo() of the complied PHP version, obtained running php54-cgi index.php from the terminal. The same script placed under document root doesn't work in FastCGI. How can I debug/try to figure out what's the error? Currently running CentOS 6.5 x64, Plesk v12.0.18_build1200140529.2, PHP 5.5.13.
