Show/Hide RichFaces component onclick client-side? (without AJAX)

I'm looking for a way to show/hide an arbitrary RichFaces component. In this case, I have a <rich:dataTable> that contains several rows. Each row needs to have it's own, independent Show/Hide link, such that when you click "Show details", two things happen: The "Show details" link is re-rendered as "Hide details" The associated detailsColumn is displayed. Furthermore, detailsColumns should be hidden by default (effectively rendered="true" to the client but hidden with style="display: none;"). I don't want to write my own JavaScript functions if it's not absolutely necessary. I also don't want to have a server-side bean keep track of which detailColumns are being displayed, and subsequently re-render everything over AJAX: this should be purely client-side behavior. I'm not sure how to accomplish that. Need help replicating directory structure with ColdFusion and jsTree

I am using this new jQuery plugin called jsTree www.jstree.com and using the HTML datasource. I am also using ColdFusion 7 with cfdirectory and filtering out files, so just dirs. I need to recreate the directory structure in the image, well any dir structure I give it actually. I am having a heck of a time with the logic. variables.imageDirectoriesLen = 8 in this scenario cause I am outputting from the middle of the actual file path, not from begining. Thanks for the help. TTStyledTextLabel offset between link and regular text when changing from default font

Properly registering JavaScript and CSS in MVC 2 Editor Templates

How do I properly register javascript blocks in an ASP.NET MVC 2 (RTM) Editor template? The specific scenario I'm in is that I want to use Dynarch JSCal2 DateTimePicker for my standard datetime picker, but this question is in general to any reusable javascript package. VS2010 Text Editor: How do I set the default formatting style for inline code blocks?

I've got a problem with the formatting of inline code blocks within the VS2010 text editor and wonder if anyone else has had similar problems and found the 'magic' setting I'm looking for. I'm working my way through tutorials in an MVC book. Whenever I add some inline code blocks to a view I want them formatted like so: <% foreach (var link in Model) { %> <a href="<%=Url.RouteUrl(link.RouteValues)%>"> <%=link.Text%> </a> <% } %> What I'm actually getting is this (auto-formatted by the IDE when I finish writing the code): <% foreach (var link in Model) { %> <a href="<%=Url.RouteUrl(link.RouteValues)%>"> <%=link.Text%> </a> <% } %> It's pretty irritating. Suggestions for displaying code on webpages, MUST use <br> for newline

Hi, I want to post code snippets online (wordpress.com blog) - and have its whitespace formatted nicely. See the answers suggested by this other SO question: Those would be OK, except that I like to copy code to clip board or clip entire pages using Evernote - and they use either the <pre> tag or <table> (or both) to format the code. jQuery Drag/Drop problem: mousemove Event not binding for some elements

But if I drag the second li up over the first, the mousemove function doesn't fire. You can see this live at http://jsbin.com/ivala. Is there a reason for this? Should I be trapping the mousemove event in some other way? Edit: It appears as thought the mousemove() event isn't binding for earlier elements than the one currently being dragged (should be bound upon their mouseover).

Change Edit Control Block (ECB) Link URL in SharePoint

Is there a way to dynamically change the hyperlink associated with an ECB menu in WSS 3.0? For instance, I have a list with 2 fields. One field is hidden and is a link, the other is the title field which has the ECB menu. The title field currently links to the item's view page - but we want it to link to the link-field's url. Can I get the actual item's GUID here? If I can get the item's ID I can send it with the list ID to an application page that will get the right URL from field in the list and forward the user on to the right site.

My onmouseout function is as follows : function disable_dropdown(d) { document.getElementById(d).style.visibility = "hidden"; } Can someone please tell me how I can stop the event from bubbling up? I tried the solutions (stopPropogation etc) provided on other sites, but I'm not sure how to implement them in this context. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks a lot!

Converting John Resig's Templating Engine to work with PHP Templates

sIFR displays only the first line of text in Opera when on transparent background

I have implemented sIFR for the first time, on a test page. The code I have is below. It works fine in IE7, Firefox, Safari and Chrome, but in Opera only the first line of sIFR-ed text appears when the page first loads and after refreshing the page. But, if I scroll the page, all the text appears! It seems to have to do with transparency, because if I turn transparency off, it works fine. Please can someone help me to make this work? Make fancybox jQuery plugin with results from submitting a form on same page

I am trying to take form results that are generated from a PHP call and populate them into a div that will then appear in a light box upon click of the submit button. So far I have successfully setup the form and am populating the results on the same page into a hidden div. I can make this div appear no problem in a light box by setting up a href link but cannot make it show up by simply by clicking the submit button. I know my fancybox and jQuery calls are good but not sure where I'm going wrong on the submit button. Selector and Iterating Through a Table Within a Div

I have been working on this and cannot get this iterator to work. I have the following HTML and am trying to iterate through all rows (except the first row) and extract the values in cells (td) 2 and 3 : <div id="statsId"> <table width="220" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" border="0"> <tbody> <tr> <td width="65"/> <td width="90"/> <td width="65"/> </tr> <tr style="font-weight: bold;"> <td align="left">$1.00</td> <td> <a href="#">UserID1</a> </td> <td>Single</td> </tr> <tr> <td align="left">$6.99</td> <td> <a href="#">UserID2</a> </td> <td>Multiple</td> </tr> <tr>... .....(snip) I tried the following iterator to iterate through all except the first row of the table that is a child of "div#statsID" and get the values of the 2nd and 3rd cells (in the example, the first extracted cells would have values of "UserID1" and "Single"), but it doesn't work. $('div#statsId > table tr:not(:nth-child(1))').each(function(i, ele) { var secondCol = $('td:nth-child(2)', ele).innerHTML var thirdCol= $('td:nth-child(3)', ele).text() ..... }); Any suggestions on how to specify and iterate through the rows (except the first) of a table that is a child of a div would be appreciated.

Why is Raphael.JS creating paper with dimensions 1000x1000?

I have a demo using raphael.js. The code for it is very simple but when viewed in Internet Explorer (less that version 9) I get a Raphael canvas that is 1000px by 1000px and I can't figure out why. I'm using version 1.5.2 of Raphael. Clear form field after select for jQuery UI Autocomplete

I'm developing a form, and using jQuery UI Autocomplete. When the user selects an option, I want the selection to pop into a span appended to the parent <p> tag. Then I want the field to clear rather than be populated with the selection. I have the span appearing just fine, but I can't get the field to clear. How do you cancel jQuery UI Autocomplete's default select action? Here is my code: var availableTags = ["cheese", "milk", "dairy", "meat", "vegetables", "fruit", "grains"]; $("[id^=item-tag-]").autocomplete({ source: availableTags, select: function(){ var newTag = $(this).val(); $(this).val(""); $(this).parent().append("<span>" + newTag + "<a href=\"#\">[x]</a> </span>"); } }); Simply doing $(this).val(""); doesn't work. What is maddening is that almost the exact function works fine if I ignore autocomplete, and just take action when the user types a comma as such: $('[id^=item-tag-]').keyup(function(e) { if(e.keyCode == 188) { var newTag = $(this).val().slice(0,-1); $(this).val(''); $(this).parent().append("<span>" + newTag + "<a href=\"#\">[x]</a> </span>"); } }); The real end result is to get autocomplete to work with multiple selections.
