But what happens if there is more than one submit button. I really have no idea how to ask this question. An example of such situation is on the logout page for this site. There are no fields to enter data into, but there are 2 submit buttons. How can I "simulate clicking" on one of those buttons using code like the above (so not using a UIWebView)

  • (SQL) Selecting from a database based on multiple pairs of pairs

    The problem i've encountered is attempting to select rows from a database where 2 columns in that row align to specific pairs of data. IE selecting rows from data where id = 1 AND type = 'news'. Obviously, if it was 1 simple pair it would be easy, but the issue is we are selecting rows based on 100s of pair of data. I feel as if there must be some way to do this query without looping through the pairs and querying each individually. I'm hoping some SQL stackers can provide guidance. Here's a full code break down: Lets imagine that I have the following dataset where history_id is the primary key. I simplified the structure a bit regarding the dates for ease of reading. table: history history_id id type user_id date 1 1 news 1 5/1 2 1 news 1 5/1 3 1 photo 1 5/2 4 3 news 1 5/3 5 4 news 1 5/3 6 1 news 1 5/4 7 2 photo 1 5/4 8 2 photo 1 5/5 If the user wants to select rows from the database based on a date range we would take a subset of that data. SELECT history_id, id, type, user_id, date FROM history WHERE date BETWEEN '5/3' AND '5/5' Which returns the following dataset history_id id type user_id date 4 3 news 1 5/3 5 4 news 1 5/3 6 1 news 1 5/4 7 2 photo 1 5/4 8 2 photo 1 5/5 Now, using that subset of data I need to determine how many of those entries represent the first entry in the database for each type,id pairing. IE is row 4 the first time in the database that id: 3, type: news appears. So I use a with() min() query. In real code the two lists are programmatically generated from the result sets of our previous query, here I spelled them out for ease of reading. WITH previous AS ( SELECT history_id, id, type FROM history WHERE id IN (1,2,3,4) AND type IN ('news','photo') ) SELECT min(history_id) as history_id, id, type FROM previous GROUP BY id, type Which returns the following data set. history_id id type user_id date 1 1 news 1 5/1 2 1 news 1 5/1 3 1 photo 1 5/2 4 3 news 1 5/3 5 4 news 1 5/3 6 1 news 1 5/4 7 2 photo 1 5/4 8 2 photo 1 5/5 You'll notice it's the entire original dataset, because we are matching id and type individually in lists, rather than as a collective pairs. The result I desire is, but I can't figure out the SQL to get this result. history_id id type user_id date 1 1 news 1 5/1 4 3 news 1 5/3 5 4 news 1 5/3 7 2 photo 1 5/4 Obviously, I could go the route of looping through each pair and querying the database to determine it's first result, but that seems an inefficient solution. I figured one of the SQL gurus on this site might be able to spread some wisdom. In case I'm approaching this situation incorrectly, the gist of the whole routine is that the database stores all creations and edits in the same table. I need to track each users behavior and determine how many entries in the history table are edits or creations over a specific date range. Therefore I select all type:id pairs from the date range based on a user_id, and then for each pairing I determine if the user is responsible for the first that occurs in the database. If first, then creation else edit. Any assistance would be awesome.

    Hello, On a Windows box, I need to extract a RAR archive so that individual files in it go into specific directories. I can provide, say, a text file that lists each file and the target directory for it. Then I need help creating a batch file that will actually extract these files into their target locations. Please help. E.g. RAR archive x.rar contains a.a b.b c.c Text file x.txt says a.a C:\foo b.b C:\bar c.c C:\foo Result of running batch file on x.rar and x.txt should be: in C:\foo we have a.a and c.c in C:\bar we have b.b Thanks!

  • What about parallelism across network using multiple PCs?

    Parallel computing is used more and more, and new framework features and shortcuts make it easier to use (for example Parallel extensions which are directly available in .NET 4). Now what about the parallelism across network? I mean, an abstraction of everything related to communications, creation of processes on remote machines, etc. Something like, in C#: NetworkParallel.ForEach(myEnumerable, () => { // Computing and/or access to web ressource or local network database here }); I understand that it is very different from the multi-core parallelism. The two most obvious differences would probably be: The fact that such parallel task will be limited to computing, without being able for example to use files stored locally (but why not a database?), or even to use local variables, because it would be rather two distinct applications than two threads of the same application, The very specific implementation, requiring not just a separate thread (which is quite easy), but spanning a process on different machines, then communicating with them over local network. Despite those differences, such parallelism is quite possible, even without speaking about distributed architecture. Do you think it will be implemented in a few years? Do you agree that it enables developers to easily develop extremely powerfull stuff with much less pain? Example: Think about a business application which extracts data from the database, transforms it, and displays statistics. Let's say this application takes ten seconds to load data, twenty seconds to transform data and ten seconds to build charts on a single machine in a company, using all the CPU, whereas ten other machines are used at 5% of CPU most of the time. In a such case, every action may be done in parallel, resulting in probably six to ten seconds for overall process instead of forty.

  • Finding multiple values in a string Jquery / Javascript

    I have a three strings of categories "SharePoint,Azure,IT"; "BizTalk,Finance"; "SharePoint,Finance"; I need to find a way to check if a string contains for example "SharePoint" and "IT", or "BizTalk" and "Finance". The tests are individual strings themselces. How would i loop through all the category strings (1 - 3) and only return the ones which have ALL instances of the souce. i have tried the following function doesExist(source, filterArray) { var substr = filterArray.split(" "); jQuery.each(substr, function() { var filterTest = this; if(source.indexOf(filterTest) != -1 ) { alert("true"); return true; }else { alert("false"); return false; } }); } with little success...the code above checks one at a time rather than both so the results returned are incorrect.   • [Apache] Creating rewrite rules for multiple urls in the same folder

    I have been asked by our client to convert a site we created into SEO friendly url format. I've managed to crack a small way into this, but have hit a problem with having the same urls in the same folder. I am trying to rewrite the following urls, /review/index.php?cid=intercasino /review/submit.php?cid=intercasino /review/index.php?cid=intercasino&page=2#reviews I would like to get them to, /review/intercasino /submit-review/intercasino /review/intercasino/2#reviews I've almost got it working using the following rule, RewriteRule (submit-review)/(.*)$ review/submit.php?cid=$2 [L] RewriteRule (^review)/(.*) review/index.php?cid=$2 The problem, you may already see, is that /submit-review rewrites to /review, which in turn gets rewritten to index.php, thus my review submission page is lost in place of my index page. I figured that putting [L] would prevent the second rule being called, but it seems that it rewrites both urls in two seperate passes. I've also tried [QSE], and [S=1] I would rather not have to move my files into different folders to get the rewriting to work, as that just seems too much like bad practise.     I have a left Panel with multiples Jlabels which i use them as buttons to change a Main Panel's content which is layouted with a CardLayout. I cant work perfectly with these events: mouseEntered : to make highlight effect to the jlabel mouseExited : to take off the highlight effect. mouseClicked : to change the content of the main Panel and start some threads The problem here that can't found an event or a method tell me that another Jlabel has been clicked so i can stop my threads started in the mouseClicked event, OR an event or method tell me that a JPanel in the CardLayout has been displayed or hidden.

  • Performing centralized authorization for multiple applications

    Here's a question that I have been wrestling with for a while. We have a situation wherein we have a number of applications that we have created. These have grown organically over a period of time. All of these applications have permissions code built into them that controls access to various parts of the application depending on whether the currently logged in user has the necessary permissions or not. Alongside these applications is a utility application which allows an administrator to map users to permissions for all applications - the way it works is that every application has code which reads this external database of the said utility application to check if the currently logged in user has the necessary permission or not. Now, the question is this. Should the user-permissions mapping information reside in and be owned by the applications themselves, or is it okay to have this information reside within an external entity/DB (as in this case the utility application's database). Part of me thinks that application permissions are very specific to the application context itself, so shouldn't be separated from the application itself. But I am not sure. Any comments?

  • Multiple Rails forks with separate designs and layouts

    I have a Rails project that is basically a simple web app for a membership-based organization. We've open sourced the code on Github for the web app so that others can use it, but have a licensed design/layout that the original organization is going to use. This layout cannot be open sourced. I was wondering if others have run into the situation where you have an open-source Rails app with a non-OS design. My initial thought is to put app/views in .gitignore, and to have anyone forking the code add their own views directory, perhaps including an app/views_default directory with a web-app-theme layout or something else to get people running. Is this the best option (realizing that there are other files such as JavaScript, CSS, etc that come with the layout that must also be ignored). Does anyone have some good thoughts or pointers on this?

  • oracle select query - index on multiple columns

    Hello. I'm working on a sql query, and trying to optimise it, because it takes too long to execute. I have a few select and UNION between. Every select is on the same table but with different condition in WHERE clause. Basically I have allways something like : select * from A where field1 <"toto" and field2 IN (...) UNION select * from A where field1 >"toto2" and field2 =(...) UNION .... I have a index on field1 (it a date field, and field2 is a number). Now, when I do the select and if I put only WHERE field1 <'12/12/2010' it does not use the index. I'm using Toad to see the explain plain and it said: SELECT STAITEMENT Optimiser Mode = CHOOSE TABLE ACCESS FULL It is a huge table, and the index on this column is there. Any idea about this optimiser ? And why it does not uses the index ? Another question is , if I have where clause on field1 and field2 , I have to create only one index, or one index for each field ?     If I have 2 projects in Eclipse that refers to the same repository location. repository location: svn://server project-module1 - svn://server/trunk/project-module1 project-module2 - svn://server/trunk/project-module2 So if I sync the project change with Subversive and have a change in module1 and module2 that refers to the same context I select all files and perform one commit, but if I look into my project revisions after that I see that 2 revisions were created. One for module1 and one for module2 with the same comment. How can I change the behave that only one revision number is created?

  • C# Windows Service Multiple Config Files

    Quick Question Is it possible to have more than 1 config file in a windows service? Or is there some way I can merge them at run time? Scenario Currently I have two config files containing the below contents. After I build and install my Windows Service, I can't get my custom XML Parser class to read the content because it keeps pointing to the wrong config file, even though I am using a few lines of code to ensure it gets the right name of the config file I need to access. ALSO When I navigate to the folder in which the service is installed, there is only sign of the normal APP.Config file, and no sign of the custom config file. (I have even set the normal ones properties to "Do Not Copy" and the custom ones properties to "Copy Always"). Until the page is fully loaded, the videos are slow to respond and play. Is there a way to make these videos load their preview images only? What should I do to speed the page up?   • Testing on blackberry device - adding and removing app multiple times

    It would be useful for many people to know how to completely remove an application from your device when testing. I have downloaded my app many times now, and likewise have deleted it many times. The problem is when deleting the app, it does not remove things like the persistent object related to my app, or the images downloaded through the app. So, when I download the next build, I have no idea if something broke that is related to building the persistent object or fetching the images since those elements already exist from the last build. I don't know if this is a cache thing. I don't know if this is expected and I have to use some utility to wipe this data after deleting the app. I can't really find much info through basic web searches. Any information would be appreciated. Blackberry Bold 9000. 4.6 OS. tested with both SD card and no SD card.
