• How to access SharePoint web part properties?

  I have created a feature for SharePoint 2007 that has a web part. I have added a custom property to the web part like so: [Personalizable(PersonalizationScope.Shared)] [WebBrowsable(true)] [Category("My Custom Properties")] [WebDisplayName("ServiceURL")] [WebDescription("The URL for the Wcf service")] public string ServiceURL { get; set; } Along with this web part, I've added a custom page that the web part will have a link to. I would like to reference the web part property from the custom page, but I don't know where these properties are stored. I've tried to access it using the code below, but both property collections don't have any properties stored. SPFeaturePropertyCollection spProperties = SPContext.Current.Site.Features[this.FeatureGuid].Properties; or SPFeaturePropertyCollection spProperties = SPContext.Current.Site.Features[this.FeatureGuid].Definition.Properties; My question is how can I get a reference to the web part property from other pages?

• NSOperation inside NSOperationQueue not being executed

  I really need help here. I'm desperate at this point. I have NSOperation that when added to the NSOperationQueue is not being triggered. I added some logging to see the NSOperation status and this is the result: Queue operations count = 1 Queue isSuspended = 0 Operation isCancelled? = 0 Operation isConcurrent? = 0 Operation isFinished? = 0 Operation isExecuted? = 0 Operation isReady? = 1 Operation dependencies? = 0 The code is very simple. Nothing special. The main is never executed. The most weird thing (believe me, I'm not crazy .. yet). If I put a break point in any NSLog line or in the creation of the operation the main method will be called and everything will work perfectly. This have been working fine for a long time. I have been making some changes recently and apparently something screw things up. One of those changes was to upgrade the device to iOS 5.1 SDK (iPad). To add something, I have the iPhone (iOS 5.1) version of this application that use the same NSOperation object. The difference is in the UI only, and everything works fine. • Can't get message body of certain emails from inbox using the Zend framework?

  Hi guys I'm trying to read through an email inbox for my application - I'm using the zend framework here. The problem is that I'm unable to retrieve the message body for certain emails. Even though if I check using a webvmail client those emails have a message body as well. WHat am I missing here?

• How to find multiples of the same integer in an arraylist?

  Hi My problem is as follows. I have an arraylist of integers. The arraylist contains 5 ints e.g[5,5,3,3,9] or perhaps [2,2,2,2,7]. Many of the arraylists have duplicate values and i'm unsure how to count how many of each of the values exist. The problem is how to find the duplicate values in the arraylist and count how many of that particular duplicate there are. In the first example [5,5,3,3,9] there are 2 5's and 2 3's. The second example of [2,2,2,2,7] would be only 4 2's. The resulting information i wish to find is if there are any duplicates how many of them there are and what specific integer has been duplicated. I'm not too sure how to do this in java. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

  Hi folks My problem is that I'm trying to count which tag has been used most in a table of user-submitted code. But the problem is with the database structure. The current query I'm using is this: SELECT tag1, COUNT(tag1) AS counttag FROM code GROUP BY tag1 ORDER BY counttag DESC LIMIT 1 This is fine, except, it only counts the most often occurence of tag1 - and my database has 5 tags per post - so there's columns tag1, tag2, tag3, tag4, tag5. How do I get the highest occurring tag value from all 5 columns in one query? Jack

  Hey all, I'm currently teaching myself Objective C and I'm kind of stuck. I'm building a backgammon game and I have a subclass, "Piece", which is being initialized, repeatedly, in BackGammonViewController. In BackGammonViewController, if I do this: UIImage *myImage = [ UIImage imageNamed: @"white-piece.png" ]; UIImageView *myImageView = [ [ UIImageView alloc ] initWithImage: myImage ]; [self.view addSubview:myImageView]; [myImageView release]; The image appears. However, I want to do this within my "piece" class. How do I refer to the "self.view" from within the piece class? Do I need to pass a reference to the view, into the "piece class" ?   In Java, the standard idiom for logging is to create a static variable for a logger object and use that in the various methods. In Scala, it looks like the idiom is to create a Logging trait with a logger member and mixin the trait in concrete classes. This means that each time an object is created it calls the logging framework to get a logger and also the object is bigger due to the additional reference. Is there an alternative that allows the ease of use of "with Logging" while still using a per-class logger instance? EDIT: My question is not about how one can write a logging framework in Scala, but rather how to use an existing one (log4j) without incurring an overhead of performance (getting a reference for each instance) or code complexity. Also, yes, I want to use log4j, simply because I'll use 3rd party libraries written in Java that are likely to use log4j.

I found some information in Intel Optimizaction reference (APPENDIX C), but it does not provide information about all general purpose instructions. Is there any complete reference about it? • Can this MySQL subquery be optimised?

  I have two tables, news and news_views. Every time an article is viewed, the news id, IP address and date is recorded in news_views. I'm using a query with a subquery to fetch the most viewed titles from news, by getting the total count of views in the last 24 hours for each one. It works fine except that it takes between 5-10 seconds to run, presumably because there's hundreds of thousands of rows in news_views and it has to go through the entire table before it can finish. The query is as follows, is there any way at all it can be improved? I was hoping to find some basic objects like Account, Contact, etc (which were listed on above url) so that I can do something like - SObject[] sObjArray = queryResult.getRecords(); for(SObject sObj : sObjArray){ Account acc = [Account] sObj; } [used above approach successfully in another webservice - 'Zuora'] However, I could not find Account class in the generated classes. I guess I am into wrong approach, but atleast I should be finding the classes listed in the reference API. Please help.

• Parallel For Loop - Problems when adding to a List

  I am having some issues involving Parallel for loops and adding to a List. The problem is, the same code may generate different output at different times. I have set up some test code below. In this code, I create a List of 10,000 int values. 1/10th of the values will be 0, 1/10th of the values will be 1, all the way up to 1/10th of the values being 9. After setting up this List, I setup a Parallel for loop that iterates through the list. If the current number is 0, I add a value to a new List. After the Parallel for loop completes, I output the size of the list. The size should always be 1,000. Most of the time, the correct answer is given. However, I have seen 3 possible incorrect outcomes occur: The size of the list is less than 1,000 An IndexOutOfRangeException occurs @ doubleList.Add(0.0); An ArgumentException occurs @ doubleList.Add(0.0); The message for the ArgumentException given was: Destination array was not long enough. Check destIndex and length, and the array's lower bounds. What could be causing the errors? Is this a .Net bug? Is there something I can do to prevent this from happening? Please try the code for yourself. If you do not get an error, try it a few times.   When creating a record "grid" with custom paging what is the best/optimal way to query the total number of records as well as the records start-end using C#?   I have a master page which is nested 2 levels. It has a master page, and that master page has a master page. When I stick controls in a ContentPlaceHolder with the name "bcr" - I have to find the controls like so: Label lblName =(Label)Master.Master.FindControl("bcr").FindControl("bcr").FindControl("Conditional1").FindControl("ctl03").FindControl("lblName"); Am I totally lost? Or is this how it needs to be done? I am about to work with a MultiView, which is inside of a conditional content control. So if I want to change the view I have to get a reference to that control right? Getting that reference is going to be even nastier! Is there a better way? Thanks

  I've created a class in Javscript using the prototype Class.Create complete with the initialize function and a few other functions. However, in one of my functions I want to reference another function in the same class, but cannot seem to get the syntax correct. e.g. var sampleClass = Class.create({ initialize: function(){ //do the init work here }, functionA: function(){ //do some more stuff here } functionB: function(){ //Do some stuff functionA() } } I've tried calling functionA() , this.functionA() but nothing works I just get errors. I know how to call the functions externally when the class has been instantiated, but not reference a function from within the class itself. Thanks

• ASP.NET - Themes and Relative Referencing

  Hello, I have an ASP.NET application that uses themes. Let's pretend I have a theme named "MySkin". I have a page that is in a sub-directory of my application. When I reference a page that uses "MySkin", I noticed that ASP.NET renders a link element that walks up to the root of the site and then down into the App_Themes directory. Here is an example link element I found in a rendered ASP.NET page: <link href="../../App_Themes/MySkin/theme.css" type="text/css" rel="stylesheet" /> Is there a reason that the rendered link element does not use the following instead: <link href="/App_Themes/MySkin/theme.css" type="text/css" rel="stylesheet" /> Is this a browser compatibility issue or is there another reason? The reason I am asking is because I am rendering my ASP.NET page using Server.Execute and storing the result in a different directory. Because of this, I would prefer to use the second way to reference my theme's css. Thank you!

• DbMetal chokes on repeated foreign key references in SQLite - any ideas?

  I've been struggling to get DbMetal to process my SQLite database. I finally isolated the problem. It won't allow a table to have two foreign key references to the same column. For example, a SQLite database with these two tables will fail: CREATE TABLE Person ( Id INTEGER PRIMARY KEY, Name TEXT NOT NULL ); CREATE TABLE Match ( Id INTEGER PRIMARY KEY, WinnerPersonId INTEGER NOT NULL REFERENCES Person(Id), LoserPersonId INTEGER NOT NULL REFERENCES Person(Id) ); I get this error: DbMetal: Sequence contains more than one matching element If I get rid of the second foreign key reference, no error occurs. So, this works: CREATE TABLE Match ( Id INTEGER PRIMARY KEY, WinnerPersonId INTEGER NOT NULL REFERENCES Person(Id), LoserPersonId INTEGER NOT NULL ); But I really need both "person" columns to reference the person table. I submitted a bug report for this, but I could use a workaround in the meantime. Any ideas?
