  • mysql table creation problem..

    Hi, I have a small problem. I am creating an appointment table where in the foreign key is patient id which is referenced from patient table.This table is for all registered patients. there will be unregistered patients also, who will be seeking appointments.SO i just need to store the name,phone and few details. I don't want to make these 2 as different tables. So is there a way to skip the integrity check of foreign key when i ma inserting unregistered patient data

  • jQuery and HTML visual glitches on table cell .toggle

    I have table that gets dynamically created. When using jQuery and toggle, everything works. I however get a small visual glitch - it seems the HTML sometimes get selected. How would I disable this on a faulty drag or mouse operation? Is there a difference in the DOM between text in a cell and 'not text' or buffered space in a td? Thanks in advance.

    Hi, I'm new to C# and .NET, ,and have been reading around about it. I need to know why and when do I need to release resources? Doesn't the garbage collector take care of everything? When do I need to implement IDisposable, and how is it different from destructor in C++? Also, if my program is rather small i.e. a screensaver, do I need to care about releasing resources? Thanks.

    Im programming a small databased application. It worked fine, but now when i want to add a new table, the Server - Explorer freezes and my .net Studio too. If i try to make a new app with database, - wpf application with .net studio, -ADD Local Database - then try to add Table, my Database1.sdf disconnects and again freeze! I am using Windows7 professional.

    Is this a known issue? I had trouble finding any search results. When iterating over a ServiceLoader while an iteration already is in progress, the first iteration will be aborted. For example, assuming there are at least two implementations of Foo, the following code will fail with an AssertionError: ServiceLoader<Foo> loader = ServiceLoader.load(Foo.class); Iterator<Foo> iter1 = loader.iterator(); iter1.next(); Iterator<Foo> iter2 = loader.iterator(); while (iter2.hasNext()) { iter2.next(); } assert iter1.hasNext(); This only seems to occur, if the second iterator really terminates. The code will succeed in this variation for example: ServiceLoader<Foo> loader = ServiceLoader.load(Foo.class); Iterator<Foo> iter1 = loader.iterator(); iter1.next(); Iterator<Foo> iter2 = loader.iterator(); iter2.next(); assert iter1.hasNext(); Is this a bug or a feature? :p Is there a ticket for this already anywhere?

    How do I get the number of packages transmitted per TCP connection? I am using Java, but i know I will have to fetch the number from the underlying OS, so this quastion applies to Linux and Windows operating systems and will have different answers for each of them, I assume. I need this information to profile the network load of an application which seems to send too many small packages by flushing the socket streams too often.

    Basically I have to write a program to generate random numbers to simulate the rolling of a pair of dice. This program should be constructed in multiple files. The main function should be in one file, the other functions should be in a second source file, and their prototypes should be in a header file. First I write a short function that returns a random value between 1 and 6 to simulate the rolling of a single 6-sided die.Second, i write a function that pretends to roll a pair of dice by calling this function twice. My program starts by asking the user how many rolls should be made. Then I write a function to simulate rolling the dice this many times, keeping a count of exactly how many times the values 2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12(each number is the sum of a pair of dice) occur in an array. Later I write a function to display a small bar chart using these counts that ideally would look something like below for a sample of 144 rolls, where the number of asterisks printed corresponds to the count: 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Next, to see how well the random number generator is doing, I write a function to compute the average value rolled. Compare this to the ideal average of 7. Also, print out a small table showing the counts of each roll made by the program, the ideal count based on the frequencies above given the total number of rolls, and the difference between these values in separate columns.     I have a file saved as UTF-8, and i'm reading it like this: ReadFile(hFile, pContents, pFile->nFileSize, &dwRead, NULL); (pContents is a BYTE* of size nFileSize) its just a small file with 100 bytes or so, contains text which i want to read into memory in wchar_t* format, so i can set the text of edit and static controls with the unicode text. How can i convert the bytes to UTF-8? edit (i don't want to use fstream or wfstream)

    I have a neural network written in Java which uses a sigmoid transfer function defined as follows: private static double sigmoid(double x) { return 1 / (1 + Math.exp(-x)); } and this is called many times during training and computation using the network. Is there any way of speeding this up? It's not that it's slow, it's just that it is used a lot, so a small optimisation here would be a big overall gain.
