  • Unable to use TL-WN821N

    Hi, I got a TP-LINK USB wireless module - TL-WN821N, using Ubuntu 10.4 (same problems were also seen in 10.10). From everything I've read online, the usb should work just fine, since the Atheros ar9170 is built into the kernel. However, when I plug it in, it is detected as a USB device, but there is no wlan associated with it, and basically - nothing happens. Am I doing something wrong? what should I do so that the Atheros driver is associated with this device? btw, on Windows it works fine (with the drivers).     FirstData has horrendous customer support, but I have to integrate with their Global Gateway web service for a project I'm working on. I'm simply trying to run the Axis2 wsdl2java tool according to the instructions in their manual. This basically consists of adding the keyStore and keyStorePassword JVM parameter. I've done both, but I continue to get Connection reset errors when trying to run: wsdl2java.bat -uri https://www.staging.linkpointcentral.com/fdggwsapi/order.wsdl -S C:\ When I try to access the URL with my browser, I get Error 101 (net::ERR_CONNECTION_RESET): Unknown error. I assume there are developers out there who have completed a FirstData web service integration. What am I doing wrong?     I need to create a service that will be "called back" by a third party. As a result, I need to conform to their WSDL. Their WSDL has all of the operations defined with soapAction="", so my service needs to do the same. Unfortunately, I'm getting the error: The operations A and B have the same action (). Every operation must have a unique action value. In ASMX web services, there was a mode where the soapAction would not be used, but the name of the request element would be used instead. Is there some way using WCF not only to dispatch on the request element, but also to emit a WSDL with no soapAction?

  • Which web containers install themselves well as a Windows service?

    We have had a web application product for several years, and used Tomcat to deploy it under Windows as it registers itself as a Windows service so it starts and stops automatically. We may now happen to need more JEE facilitites than is provided by Tomcat (we are very tempted by the JEE 6 things in the container) so the question is which Open Source JEE containers works well as Windows services. Since Glassfish is the only JEE 6 implementation right now, it would be nice if it works well, but I'd like to hear experiences and not just what I can read from brochures. If not, what else do people use? EDIT: This goes for web containers too, and not just JEE containers. We will probably keep the necessary stack included until we find the right container and it gets JEE6 support. EDIT: I want this to work as distributed. I'm not interested in manually hacking wrappers etc., but want the installation process to handle the creation and removal of the service.

    I have noticed through the process of signing up for various freelance and job seeking or professional network sites that they all want your resume/CV data. And I am really getting tired of copy/pasting this data, especially since I have a website. Is there a standard format or service somewhere that I do not know about for this data? If not, does anyone want to help me build something like this out? I'm thinking a service similar to OpenID that allows you to maintain a central resume to have your data pulled from. No more filling in the same data over and over, and having to maintain the copies on any of the plethora of websites that have that data. Takers?

    Hi, You know, once you add a web reference to a webservice a wrapper code is generated by Visuel Studio. I was wondering if there is a method (or property) which is generated by Visual Studio whatever web service you add to your project so that I can put a breakpoint there and once the debugger stops there, I can simply read the response from web-service in an xml format (or should I say, soap).     Hey guys! I have been given a WSDL with all the method requests and responses, and all the objects I'll need to use for creating a few webmethods. The thing is, I don't know what to do with it. I've added the WSDL as a Service Reference. I can see the methods and structures, I can instantiate them, it's all there, but the project doesn't build as soon as I add the WSDL. "Error 2 The type name 'ServiceReference1' does not exist in the type 'WSPELab.WSPELab' C:\Users\JJ\Documents\Visual Studio 2008\Projects\WSPELab\WSPELab\Service References\ServiceReference1\Reference.cs 21 111 WSPELabSLN Is it a stupid namespace error on my part?   • How do I close a database connection in a WCF service?

    I have been unable to find any documentation on properly closing database connections in WCF service operations. I have a service that returns a streamed response through the following method. public virtual Message GetData() { string sqlString = BuildSqlString(); SqlConnection conn = Utils.GetConnection(); SqlCommand cmd = new SqlCommand(sqlString, conn); XmlReader xr = cmd.ExecuteXmlReader(); Message msg = Message.CreateMessage( OperationContext.Current.IncomingMessageVersion, GetResponseAction(), xr); return msg; } I cannot close the connection within the method or the streaming of the response message will be terminated. Since control returns to the WCF system after the completion of that method, I don't know how I can close that connection afterwards. Any suggestions or pointers to additional documentation would be appreciated. Dan

  • Creating a process in a non-zero session from a service in windows-2008-server?

    Hi, I was wondering if there is a simple way for a service to create a process in user session? My service is running as a user(administrator) account and not as a LocalSystem acount, therefore i can't use the WTSQueryUserToken function. i have tried calling OpenProcessToken(GetCurrentProcess,TOKEN_ALL_ACCESS,TokenHandle); but when i use this token to run CreateProcessAsUser(TokenHandle,.....) my process is still running in session 0. how can i resolve this issue? I'm using an Ole automation so i don't really care on which session the process will be running on, as long it is not the session 0 - because the Ole from some reason doesn't create its processes (winword.exe for instance) in session 0, but rather it creates them in other user sessions. Any suggestions will be welcome. Thanks in advance.

    I have a web service method in which I create a particular type of object, use it for a few seconds, and then dispose it. Because of problems arising from multiple threads creating and using instances of this class at the same time, I need to restrict the method so that only one caller at a time ever has one of these objects. To do this, I am creating a private static object: private static object _lock = new object(); ... and then inside the web service method I do this around the critical code: lock (_lock) { using (DangerousObject do = new DangerousObject()) { do.MakeABigMess(); do.CleanItUp(); } } I'm not sure this is working, though. Do I have this right? Will this code ensure that only one instance of DangerousObject is instantiated and in use at a time?

  • how to get an SDP record for bluetooth service??

    Hi I'm new to both winsock and bluetooth programming. I need to develop a bluetooth service to run on a pc. Looking at the MSDN library they say to use WSASetService(http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa362921%28VS.85%29.aspx) function to publish a service. The problem is that the WSAQUERYSET(http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa362920%28VS.85%29.aspx) structure, that has to be passed to WSASetService, needs a binary SDP record and i don't know how to get it. In the Windows embedded section of the MSDN library they describe a procedure to obtain an SDP record using Bthnscreate. I installed Windows CE 6 to use this tool but i can't find it in the install directory nor in the entire system. How can i get an SDP record? Thanks!

    We need to create a simple web service in ASP.NET that can be called from PHP or other languages. This in turn will be used to update records in a database for an item submission. The core part is fairly simple, we have a base set of fields for the object - first name, last name, birth date, city, etc. In addition however we need to accept a list of items associated with that object that can range from 0-n. Jan 1 2009, ABC May 1 2010, 123 Jun 30 2010, XXXXX What would be the best way to structure this so it can be easily passed to the ASP.NET web service and processed as a single call for the entire object? Would passing the list of items as a single delimted string be a wise approach? Ex: Jan 1 2009, ABC|May 1 2010, 123|Jun 30 2010, XXXXX

  • How do I wait for a service/process to start before continuing a batch script?

    I am writing a windows batch script to uninstall some software. However I need to wait after the uninstaller has finished for a service to be restarted before continuing with the next uninstall. I can make the script wait for the uninstaller to finsh using:- for /f "usebackq" %%M in ('tasklist /nh /fi "imagename eq %process_1%"') do if not %%M==%ignore_result% goto 1 But I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get the script to then wait for a service to start before continuing the script and running more uninstalls. I am open to any suggestions.

    I'm learning how to develop soap web services with java. So far now I've been following this excelente tutorial http://java.sun.com/developer/technicalArticles/J2SE/jax_ws_2/ it all goes well, I have my web service working from the command line with it's embeded server, and then, with the help of netbeans I deployed it on tomcat. I'd like to know the steps to manually deploy it on tomcat, in order to learn how it's done, and because I don't like depending on an ide. I mean, I'd like to know how everything could be done from the command line and a text editor. I've also found this link that explains how to manually deploy a servlet to tomcat, http://linux-sxs.org/internet_serving/c292.html but I couldn't find any article telling how to deploy a web service... thanks a lot saludos sas
