• Suppress/Override application.html.erb

  Is there any way to suppress the default js and css loaded by application.html.erb on a view by view basis? I'm finding it incredibly difficult to manage a global css and js includes configuration when certain views need different js libraries that for some reason seem to be conflicting with one another. For example, I might want jquery 1.3 for one view and 1.4.2 for another. I don't necessarily want to have to have an include for every view (I do want to have a global site-wide default), but I would also like to be able to override those for any view I want. Thanks!

  I've been programming in Asp.Net MVC for quite some time now and to expand a little bit beyond the .Net world I've recently began learning Python and Django. I am enjoying Django but one thing I am missing from Asp.Net MVC is the automatic routing from my urls to my controller actions. In Asp.Net MVC I can build much of my application using this single default route: routes.MapRoute( "Default", // Route name "{controller}/{action}/{id}", // URL with parameters new { controller = "Home", action = "Index", id = "" } // Parameter defaults ); In Django I've found myself adding an entry to urls.py for each view that I want to expose which leads to a lot more url patterns than I've become used to in Asp.Net MVC. Is there a way to create a single url pattern in Django that will handle "[Application]/view/[params]" in a way similar to Asp.Net MVC? Perhaps at the main web site level?

  Hi, I have translated a document from English to Norwegian in the LaTeX format, and while using norwegian special characters, I get an error using \usepackage[utf8x]{inputenc} to try and display the norwegian (scandinavian) special characters in PostScript/PDF/DVI format, saying Package utf8x Error: MalformedUTF-8sequence. So while that didn't work, I tried out another possible solution: \usepackage{ucs} \usepackage[norsk]babel And when I tried to save that in Emacs I get this message: These default coding systems were tried to encode text in the buffer `lol.tex': (utf-8-unix (905 . 4194277) (916 . 4194245) (945 . 4194278) (950 . 4194277) (954 . 4194296) (990 . 4194277) (1010 . 4194277) (1013 . 4194278) (1051 . 4194277) (1078 . 4194296) (1105 . 4194296)) However, each of them encountered characters it couldn't encode: utf-8-unix cannot encode these: \345 \305 \346 \345 \370 \345 \345 \346 \345 \370 ... Thanks to Emacs I have the possibility to check out the properties of those characters and the first one tells me: character: \345 (4194277, #o17777745, #x3fffe5) preferred charset: eight-bit (Raw bytes 128-255) code point: 0xE5 syntax: w which means: word buffer code: #xE5 file code: not encodable by coding system utf-8-unix display: not encodable for terminal Which doesn't tell me much. When I try to build this with texi2dvi --dvipdf filename.text I get a perfectly fine PDF, all without the special norwegian characters. When I am about to save Emacs also ask me: "Select coding system (default raw-text):" And I type in utf-8 to choose its coding system. I have also tried to choose default raw-text to see if I get some different result. But nothing. At last I tried \lstset{inputencoding=utf8x, extendedchars=\true} ... a code I came over while trying to google the solution to this problem. Which gives me this error: Undefined control sequence. So basically, I have tried every encoding option I have been able to find and nothing works. I am desperately trying to make this work since the norwegian translation must be published before the deadline. As an additional information I may add that I found out later on that I only had the en_US.UTF-8 in my locale, so I added nb_NO.UTF-8 and nb_NO.ISO-8859-15 and ran locale-gen + reboot without any changes. I hope I provided enough information to get some assistance, the characters in question is æ ø å.

  Hello World! Hi guys, I have a master page with two partial viewson it both of which submit to the AccountController. When I click Submit on either of the partial views the following happens: If I declare the partial views like Html.BeginForm("PartialAction1","Account") it redirects to that partial view on clicking submit instead bringing back the default HomeContoller Index view with validation errors. If I declare the partial view forms as Html.BeginForm() then it returns to the default index view of the home controller. But it actually fires both partial view actions inside the AccountController and thus returns validation errors for both partial views simultaneously. What I want is version 2 above with only one action firing instead of two. Am I missing, hopefully, something very simple? I hoping someone can help me or point me in the right direction. • WPF: Is ListBox or Panel responsible for mouse wheel navigation?

  I have a custom ListBox which uses a custom Panel as ItemsHost. I want to have control over mouse wheel input, so that turning the wheel changes the single selected item. I believe that the best method to do so is to handle the OnPreviewMouseWheel event (although this is only have what I want since it doesn't provide horizontal wheel data). Now the big question: Is there a best practice where to handle OnPreviewMouseWheel? In ListBox (which by default doesn't have a clue about the arrangement of the Panel's child elements) or in Panel (which by default doesn't have a clue about the "IsSelected" property of it's child elements)?

• Does Resharper 4.1 support both Camel Humps and normal selection modes?

  I've found the setting for Camel Humps in resharper: Resharper - Options - Editor - Use CamelHumps The problem is that I would still like to be able to use the normal selection mode (i.e. the default behaviour for CTRL+Arrow and CTRL+SHIFT+Arrow) as well as the CamelHumps mode. For example consider this variable: private int MyVeryLongCamelCaseName; Now if I want to copy the entire variable then I want the VS default behaviour for CTRL+SHIFT+Left-Arrow which is to select the entire variable if the cursor is on the M. However if I want to change the name to say MyExtremelyLongCamelCaseName then I would like the CamelHumps behaviour provided by Resharper. Is there any way to have both behaviours with different shortcuts?

• How do I pan the contents of a div when the right mouse button is dragged?

  I need a cross browser way of capturing the right mouse click, preventing the default context menu and making it where when the user drags the mouse they can pan the contents of a div. This is largely similar to Google maps in that they will grip the contents and drag to see what they want. No external libraries please. I am already capturing the events, and know that this will prevent default actions: if (evt.preventDefault) { evt.preventDefault(); } else { evt.returnValue = false; } But this doesn't prevent the context menu AFAIK. Edit: I really am unsure about how to prevent the context menu and what the best way to manipulate the scroll bars would be? examples would be great

Each dropdownlist would need a select statement which would extract out different data from the database.   I am attempting to override/extend the header for the Django admin in version 1.2.1. However when I try to extend the admin template and simply change what I need documented here: http://docs.djangoproject.com/en/dev/ref/contrib/admin/#overriding-vs-replacing-an-admin-template), I run into a recursion problem. I have an index.html file in my project's templates/admin/ directory that starts with {% extends "admin/index.html" %} But it seems that this is referencing the local index file (a.k.a. itself) rather than the default Django copy. I want to extend the default Django template and simply change a few blocks. When I try this file, I get a recursion depth error. How can I extend parts of the admin? Thanks.

  Hello everyone, I'm debugging an HttpModule with an ASP.NET response filter. This dynamically rewrites portions of rendered SharePoint WCM pages. The publishing pages render fine in SP2007 on both Server 2003 and Server 2008. However the equivalent pages fail to render in SP2010 B2 on Server 2008 R2 / IIS7. The following error is returned by ASP.NET: Post cache substitution is not compatible with modules in the IIS integrated pipeline that modify the response buffers. Either a native module in the pipeline has modified an HTTP_DATA_CHUNK structure associated with a managed post cache substitution callback, or a managed filter has modified the response. This error is consistent with KB #2014472. However: Caching is disabled for anonymous & authenticated access at the site collection level There do not appear to be any Substitution controls on either the master or layout page The IIS 7 settings are all stock default This is happening e.g. on /pages/default.aspx. It seems likely I'm missing something cache related...but what?

  Is there a way to dynamically change the WebResponseFormat on a method given a parameter passed by the client? I default my WebResponseFormat to XML, but I want to give the client the opportunity to specify a format as JSON or XML and if none is specified, default to XML. Currently I am doing the following: [WebGet(UriTemplate = "objects", BodyStyle = WebMessageBodyStyle.Bare)] [OperationContract] List<SampleObject> GetObjects(); The user can call it via: http://localhost/rest/myservice/objects They then can specify a format by doing: http://localhost/rest/myservice/objects?format=json The problem is that when I try to set the response content type via: WebOperationContext.Current.OutgoingResponse.ContentType = "application/json"; That just returns the XML but the browser attempts to process it like a JSON object instead of serializing the response as JSON. Is this even possible with .NET 3.5 outside of using a Stream as the return value and serializing the response myself? If not, is there a better solution?

  I have been slowly learning SQL the last few weeks. I've picked up all of the relational algebra and the basics of how relational databases work. What I'm trying to do now is learn how it's implemented. A stumbling block I've come across in this, is foreign keys in MySQL. I can't seem to find much about the other than that they exist in the InnoDB storage schema that MySQL has. What is a simple example of foreign keys implemented in MySQL?   I need to open window pop-up from Silverlight Out-of-Browser application. I've added parameter <param name="enablehtmlaccess" value="true" /> in Index.html, but executing this from code behind: HtmlPage.Window.Navigate(new Uri(myUrl), "_blank", myFeatures); still returns error: Silverlight OOB Error: The DOM/scripting bridge is disabled. I've read about this post, does it mean that I can't open pop-up from OOB? Why I need to do this, because actually I've shown the HTML page in OOB Silverlight by WebBrowser control within ChildWindow but when I click an anchor in HTML page, which linked to _blank page, it jumps to my default browser. It doesn't meet the requirement, except launch that HTML index page also in default browser at the first time, triggered from button control in OOB Silverlight. Is that possible? Please advice, thanks.

  Hi folks, I'm trying to make a new asp.net web application .. so I'm copying my files from one site to the new one, in the same solution. Now, any of my classes in the App_Code directory ... they are not getting 'picked up' by the rest of my project. For example... \_ \_App_Code |_ BaseMasterPage.cs (please don't ask why this is in here..) |_ Utility.cs |_ FooBar.cs \_MasterPages |_ Default.master.cs // This file errors ;( namespace Foo.WebSite.MasterPages { public partial class Default_master : App_Code.BaseMasterPage { ... } } namespace Foo.WebSite.App_Code { public class BaseMasterPage : MasterPage { .. } } It cannot find the App_Code.BaseMasterPage (compilation and intellisence error) in the Default.master.cs page. Can someone please help? this is killing me :(

  I am currently playing with DotNetOpenAuth to make an ASP.NET (C#) website use OpenID instead of the normal login-password routine for user and session handling. Up till now, I have added the DotNetOpenAuth.dll into my project and tried a test login page with the following: <rp:OpenIdLogin ID="OpenIdLogin1" runat="server" /> When I run the page, I enter a valid myopenid url and the website redirects to the myopenid page, where I enter my password, and upon success, it returns back to my default.aspx, due to the following in my web.config: <authentication mode="Forms"> <forms defaultUrl="/Default.aspx" loginUrl="~/Login.aspx"/> </authentication> Now that the user is "logged in", how can handle my session? At the moment, I don't know how I can, for example, check if the session is still alive or how to terminate the session. My basic question is, how can I manage the session once the user is authenticated with OpenID ?
