PreSubD2, PreSubD2... pk_map_id preferences ImmediateParent Department_Id -------------------- -------------------- -------------------- -------------------- 20 14 5 1 21 15 5 1 22 16 6 1 23 9 4 2 24 4 3 2 25 24 20 2 26 25 20 2 27 23 13 2 I want to group my records on behalf of department then immediate parent then preferences each seperated by ',' i.e. department Immediate Parent preferences 1 5,6 14,15,16 2 4,3,20,13 9,4,24,25,23 and this table also Immediate parent preferences 5 14,15 6 16 4 9 3 4 20 24,25 13 13 In actual scenario all these are my ids which are to be replaced by their string fields.     I have been working with SQL Server as a Developer a while. One thing I learnt is SQL Server manages Statistics which help Engine to create optimized execution plan. I could not figure out what exactly is stores in Statistics? (I read it saves Vector, but what Vector?) When/In which scenario SQL Server updates Statistics? How/why some time they go out of sync (old Statistics) In case of old Statistics is a manual DBA/Developer intervention is required or SQL Server Will get them updated. As a DBA/Developer how to find out if Statistics OLD? What should we do?

    I am not familiar with the wordpress schema at all and I need to get back a list, or array of the most recent tags from any post in the wordpress database. I just need the data available on the home page so I can then manipulate it. All the functions seem to be designed to work on a per-post basis. (Wordpress really makes me feel sorry for frequent wordpress programmers.)

  • Setting parameters after obtaining their values in stored procedures

    Right now I have an upload field while uploads files to the server. The prefix is saved so that it can later be obtained for retrieval. For this I need to attach the ID of the form to the prefix. I would like to be able to do this as such: @filePrefix = SCOPE_IDENTITY() + @filePrefix; However I am not so sure this would work because the record has not been created yet. If anything I could call an update function which obtains the ID and then injects it into the row after it has been created. To speed things up, I don't want to do this on the server but rather do this on the database. Regardless of what the approach is, I would still like to know if something like the above is possible (at least for future reference?) So if we replace that with @filePrefix = 5 + @filePrefix; would that be possible? SQL doesn't seem to like the current syntax very much...

  • How can I improve this SQL to avoid several problems with its results?

    I am having some problems with trying to search. Currently this will only return results that have at least 1 row in the maintenance_parts table. I would like it to return results even if there are 0 parts rows. My second problem is that when you search for a vehicle and it should return multiple results (multiple maintenance rows) it will only return 1 result for that vehicle. Some Background Info: The user has 2 fields to fill out. The fields are vehicle and keywords. The vehicle field is meant to allow searching based on the make, model, VIN, truck number (often is 2 - 3 digits or a letter prefix followed by 2 digits), and a few other fields that belong to the truck table. The keywords are meant to search most fields in the maintenance and maintenance_parts tables (things like the description of the work, parts name, parts number). The maintenance_parts table can contain 0, 1, or more rows for each maintenance row. The truck table contains exactly 1 row for every maintenance row. A truck can have multiple maintenance records. Using this method I would like to update every entry in my table. My desired SQL syntax need to be something like this UPDATE mytable set link= 'page=' + <existing value of link> WHERE 1; I am using 'WHERE 1;' to denote every row. Anyone know how to accomplish this?

BUT since I am pulling information from a MyBB bulletin board system, its quite different. When replying, people are are allowed to change the "Thread Subject" by simplying replying and changing it. I dont want it to SHOW the changed subject title, just the original title of all posts in that thread. By default it repies with "RE:thread title". They can easily edit this and it will show up in the "Subject" cell & people wont know which thread it was posted in because they changed their thread to when replying to the post. So I just want to keep the orginial thread title when they are replying. Make sense~?? Then what? I can't find any doc with Criteria API Does it mean I should use HQL instead? Thanx! This string can contain various types of data, like: a six digit id a zipcode that contains out of 4 digits and two alphanumeric characters a name (characters only) As I am using this string to search through a database, the query type is determined on the type of search, which i want to handle serverside using JavaScript (yes, I am using JavaScript serverside). Searching on StackOverflow, brought me some interesting information, like the .test-method, which seems perfect for my needs. The test-method returns either true or false based on the evaluation on the string using a regex object. I am using this page as a reference: http://www.javascriptkit.com/jsref/regexp.shtml So I am trying to determine the zipcode, by using the following very noobish regex. var r = /[A-Za-z]{2,2}/ As far I can understand, this should limit the amount of occurrences of alphanumeric characters to a maximum of two.
