  I'm trying to port the unix utility ldd to windows, because dependency walker and cygcheck don't quite give me the usage I'm looking for. (also for the learning experience) Ive been looking all over MSDN, for a windows API that lists dll dependencies of an executable, or even the storage format in the complied exe (just to filter it out), but I've been unable to find anything. If anyone knows what API call windows uses for listing modules to load, or what patterns I can search for in an executable to find modules to load, please help me out :) thanks! -note: I'm not looking to profile for dynamic modules, just list the ones that are required at runtime

• UIActionsSheet text shadow problem

  I have a problem with the text shadow of the UIActionSheet buttons. At iOS 4.0.2 long string were truncated automatically. No at iOS 4.2 these texts are presented with a smaller font. But now the offset of the shadow is corrupted and to big. Is there a possibility to change/remove the text shadow of the UIActionSheet. EDIT: I'm building the UIActionSheet not with initWithTitle:, but with the normal init and sets all needed properties afterwards because the number of possible buttons is dynamic and the texts cannot be change. I've tested it with initWithTitle: and got the same results.

• Best way to use the same HTML on static web-pages

  If you use dynamic pages like JSP or asp.net, you can have your page template included, and then content added. But what if you have no server-side component and all pages are just HTML/JS? You can of course create a template then copy it for each page, but then if you want to change something you risk having to modify every page, even if you put most styling in CSS properly. Are there any non-awful ways to do this? I could see that an iframe could be used to load the content into the central page but that sounds nasty. Does HTML provide any way to include a base file and add to it?

  I'm going to create a website using Wordpress static pages feature. It's going to have a menu for all the created pages. A blog is going to be created as well. This blog has a completely different layout/menu from the main site, but within the same domain: "http://www.domain.com" is the website url, and "http://www.domain.com/blog/" is the blog url. I was thinking of installing two different Wordpress instances: /var/www/public_html/ and /var/www/public_html/blog/. Although it's a simple solution, users are going to be duplicated: if you change password in one system, you need to change in the other. So, I would like to know from you which other approaches are possible: create a "dynamic" theme (call a theme when in root domain, another whern /blog - dont even know if this is possible), or for example a plugin to syncronize users from both instances? Does Wordpress MU solve this problem for me? Thanks!

  I basically have a div on my site that always has the same stuff. However, this div is not present on all pages which is why I won't use the dynamic web template. I was wondering if it was possible for PHP to get the code from a document on the server and put in into the div? Ex: <div id="section... then my text file contains <p>hello</p> Basically I want PHP to put it into the div when the user sees it. If theres a smarter way of acheiving this I'd be open to it as well.   I am using a custom route handler for a webforms application. I am using routes to determine localization. ie: if the url has es or fr in the route it will load either spanish or french resources. for example: www.someroute/es/checkstuff/checkstuff.aspx will load: www.someroute/checkstuff/checkstuff.aspx with the spanish resources. I am configuring the custom routes in global.asax via: protected void Application_Start(object sender, EventArgs e) { RegisterRoutes(RouteTable.Routes); } public static void RegisterRoutes(RouteCollection routes) { foreach (var value in _customRoutes) { routes.Add(value.RouteName, new Route(value.Route, new CustomRouteHandler(value.ResolvedRoute))); } } where _customroutes is a list of routes. Is there a way to do this with some kind of pattern matching so I can avoid adding a specific route for each page in the application. While I know I could use a t4 template to generate the routes, I guess I am looking for a dynamic way to create the list

  Hello, I have used Eclipse 3.4 to create a Dynamic Web Project. I have also configured my server to use port 8443 with ssl. If I start my server I can access my test.jsp by going to it's address https://localhost:8443/TestContext/test.jsp In eclipse, I have installed this server and added my project to the server. If I Run test.jsp it always launches as http://localhost:8080/TestContext/test.jsp My question is: How can I set up eclipse to run this on https://localhost:8443/ rather than the default 8080? • Spring / Hibernate project with Tomcat and JQuery.

  Hi, I have a Dynamic Web Project that implements Spring and Hibernate using a Tomcat Server (v6). I'm lauching Tomcat with my Eclipse Galileo and I'm not getting any errors in the console but Tomcat is rendering my webpages randomly. The page just keep loading but without displaying anything, there's nothing on the console either. When I go in debug mode, it goes throught the right steps, everything seems alright. When I display the source code on the web browser (Firefox latest build) it shows me the right code that is needed to display the page I called. What am I not getting here? Plus when I stop Tomcat, it renders a part of the page. I'm wondering if JQuery could be the problem? The thing is that it's a collaborative project and that the others managed to run the web application in the most alright way. Please, share your experience with me.

• C++ DWORD* to BYTE*

  My issue, i am trying to convert and array of dynamic memory of type DWORD to a BYTE. Fair enough i can for loop through this and convert the DWORD into a BYTE per entry. But is their a faster way to do this? to take a pointer to DWORD data and convert the whole piece of data into a pointer to BYTE data? such as using a memcpy operation? I feel this is not possible, im not requesting an answer just an experienced opinion on my approach, as i have tried testing both approaches but seem to fail getting to a solution on my second solution. Thanks for any input, again no answers just a point in the right direction. Nor is this a homework question, i felt that had to be mentioned.

I would like to write the query more like: select p.* from products p where (p.categories contains '27|0' or p.categories contains'972|1' or p.categories contains '969|1') How would I do this?

• LNK2005: delete already defined error in VC++

  Hi, I asked this question earlier as well: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2773168/lnk2005-delete-already-defined-error-in-vc The answer I got was that I should be using dynamic version of DLLs. I did that and it compiled fine. Now, but when I gave the exe to one of my colleagues to run, they told me - they can't run it as it requires some shared dll, so they need a static one. When I try to do static build then I get the error as mentioned in my previous link. Do, I need to provide some other file as well with exe. I have got .lib file as well in the build directory. Shall I provide taht one as well? I can run it fine on my m/c in whichever directory I put it. Any help is much appreciated as I am really stuck. Thanks in advance, Suchita

  Following on from my last question http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2788082/sql-server-query-performance, and discovering that my method of allowing optional parameters in a search query is sub optimal, does anyone have guidelines on how to approach this? For example, say I have an application table, a customer table and a contact details table, and I want to create an SP which allows searching on some, none or all of surname, homephone, mobile and app ID, I may use something like the following: select * from application a inner join customer c on a.customerid = a.id left join contact hp on (c.id = hp.customerid and hp.contacttype = 'homephone') left join contact mob on (c.id = mob.customerid and mob.contacttype = 'mobile') where (a.ID = @ID or @ID is null) and (c.Surname = @Surname or @Surname is null) and (HP.phonenumber = @Homphone or @Homephone is null) and (MOB.phonenumber = @Mobile or @Mobile is null) The schema used above isn't real, and I wouldn't be using select * in a real world scenario, it is the construction of the where clause I am interested in. Is there a better approach, either dynamic sql or an alternative which can achieve the same result, without the need for many nested conditionals. Some SPs may have 10 - 15 criteria used in this way

  The problem: I am unable to use OutputCaching with my controls which derives from MyCustomControl. Controls are loaded dynamically using definitions from database with Page.LoadControl method. When I add to ascx <%@ OutputCache VaryByParam="*" Duration="3600"% the "InvalidCastException: System.Web.UI.PartialCachingControl - MyCustomControl" exception is thrown. I am unable to modify assembly witch contains dynamic loading controls logic. Is there any way to fix it in derived controls? The second question is about iis7 and native output caching - is it resolves this problem? (I tried to set up several performance counters and I saw that cache wasn't hit...)

• Proper chart scaling in Reporting Services 2005

  I'm developing a simple bar-chart in Reporting Services 2005 with a stored procedure as data-source. The values in this graph can be both positive and negative, and can span a very big range, and hence I cannot specify any non-dynamic scale that will work for all scenarios. The problem I'm facing is that the automatic scaling pretty much sucks. I get no line to show where the zero-point is, and the y-scale labels are from top to bottom: 8818 -191181 -391181 etc etc... So my question is, what is the best approach to make the scale more adapted to human reading? Is there any guide out there? Does reporting services 2008 handle this better? Also, moving away from Reporting Services is not really an option. I realize how to put values and expression in the max, min, and the gridline interval fields, although its more of a question what expressions I should put there.

This url is going to be generated for theme images, not links, so I can't url link_to or url_for. Are there any answers to why my concatenation won't work the way I want it in the label, but works fine with the TextBox?

Im using the following code to print the results for testing echo '<pre>'; print_r($this->upload->data()); echo '</pre>'; A cut down version of the results are as follows Array ( [file_name] => Array ( [0] => filename1.gif [1] => filename2.jpg ) ) The way my view is setup, is that i use jquery to insert multiple dynamic file input fields so the amount of files can be 1, it can be 50 and so on. Im wondering how i would loop through that array to send each filename to the database
