  • html-embedded php code not executing when hosted on iis

I have PHP set up correctly because I have no problem running .php files. The problem, it seems to me, is that IIS can't render php code embedded inside html. Does anyone know how to fix this problem or should i switch to Apache?

  • Best practice: How to persist simple data without a database in django?

    I'm building a website that doesn't require a database because a REST API "is the database". (Except you don't want to be putting site-specific things in there, since the API is used by mostly mobile clients) However there's a few things that normally would be put in a database, for example the "jobs" page. You have master list view, and the detail views for each job, and it should be easy to add new job entries. (not necessarily via a CMS, but that would be awesome) e.g. example.com/careers/ and example.com/careers/77/ I could just hardcode this stuff in templates, but that's no DRY- you have to update the master template and the detail template every time. What do you guys think? Maybe a YAML file? Or any better ideas? Thx

    I have the following core data model with two entities: entity "item" which holds name, date, description and a to many relationship "image". image is optional. entity "image" holds url, name and relationship to one item. I load the executed Fetchrequest into this NSArray "entityArray" This is what I do to display my data in a UITableView for example to display title in main cell: NSManagedObject *object = (NSManagedObject *)[entityArray objectAtIndex:indexPath.row]; cell.textLabel.text=[object valueForKey:@"title"]; Now I have no clue how to access my relationship image ([object valueForKey:@"image"]), because it contains more than just a string.

    Hallo rails version 2.3.5 I'm learning rails and I run into a problem. I'm doing some nesting forms from the railscasts tutorials. I changed the text area into a data field to upload photos and everything is working. Now i have to display the uploaded pictures and i simply can't do it. I Tried everything I could find on the net but nothing worked.   • hadoop - large database query

    Situation: I have a Postgres DB that contains a table with several million rows and I'm trying to query all of those rows for a MapReduce job. From the research I've done on DBInputFormat, Hadoop might try and use the same query again for a new mapper and since these queries take a considerable amount of time I'd like to prevent this in one of two ways that I've thought up: 1) Limit the job to only run 1 mapper that queries the whole table and call it good. or 2) Somehow incorporate an offset in the query so that if Hadoop does try to use a new mapper it won't grab the same stuff. I feel like option (1) seems more promising, but I don't know if such a configuration is possible. Option(2) sounds nice in theory but I have no idea how I would keep track of the mappers being made and if it is at all possible to detect that and reconfigure. Help is appreciated and I'm namely looking for a way to pull all of the DB table data and not have several of the same query running because that would be a waste of time.

    I am trying to set the status of a task as completed using Tasks API. It shows that the code has completed successfully, but the task is not being marked as completed. Also, when I try to get the status of the task after update, it shows status as "needsAction".     heres my problem: im building a server that loads modules. each module is a .jar file. inside the jar theres all the classes that the module need. the server needs to read the jar, find the main class (it doesnt have the main method on it is just the class that makes the module work but not as a different program), build an object of that class and store it in a vector of modules so that it can acces to a specific module depending on the job to be done. how can i do that? as far as the server, it is listening and reciving request, but thes no modules to delegate the job to, since my vector of modules is empty

I am copying entries from one table to an "archive" table that has all the columns of the original, plus a couple extra ones. It feels sloppy to iterate through every object and manually define the mapping like: foreach (oldTable in dbContextOldTables) { var newTable = new NewTable(); newTable.TableID = oldTable.ID; newTable.Title = oldTable.Title; ...     The stereotypical programmer is very keen on writing software in one particular programming language and is very fanatic about defending their programming language in any way they can, without being realistic about whether their programming language is the best tool for the job. The other kind of programmer can take a step back and switch between languages (or is not very concerned about doing everything in just one language), is a "jack-of-all-trades", and doesn't mind learning a new language as long as it solves their problem in a good fashion. Did you ever switch from one programming language to another? If yes, why? [P.S. Please don't just answer with "I switched from language A to B because company X sucks! I think it will be very useful to understand why people switch between languages, or what's the best tool for a particular kind of job]

    I want my jobs to execute in every X seconds, there's one to one matching between job and X. Also during runtime there can be registered new jobs with their own intervals. I've tried to write cron expression for such scenarios, but in documentation there's written that value of seconds can't be more than 69. So cron expression like this: "0/63 * * * * ?" isn't valid. At first sight solution of that problem seemed to be expression like this: "0/3 0/1 * * * ?", but it means completely different thing: trigger job in every three second of every minute. Can you suggest what is the right solution (cron expression) for that? I know I could use just simple timers, but I've to use cron jobs using Quartz.

    Having a really frustrating time with Firefox and the back button...given this simple ASP form: <head> <title>Form 1</title> </head> <body> <form action="form2.asp" method="post"> Enter some text:<input type="text" name="thetext" id="thetext"> <input type="submit" id="submit" name="submit"> </form> </body> </html> Firefox (3.6.3) will occasionally clear the value of the text box after hitting submit and then the back button. It's unpredictable when it will strike. And it will work for dozens to hundreds of times, and then all of a sudden it stops working. Any ideas where I should start?

    In SQL server 2008 I have some huge tables (200-300+ cols). Every day we run a batch job generating a new table with timestamp appended to the name of the table. The the tables have no PK. I would like a generic way to compare 2 rows from two tables. Showing which cols having different values is sufficient, but showing the values would be perfect. Thanks a lot Thanks for the answers.     I have a java server application that, when its running, you can interact with it sending commands via stdin. I want to write a web interface that can send these commands to it. In order to do that I need some way of getting commands from php to the stdin for this backgrounded job. Is there a way to do this from console? or possibly write some kind of wrapper that controls the server job and can access its stdin ? could this be done in python?

  • seeking help with Chrome & Safari not rendering my table stretched to fit its contents...help?

    I have an element on this web page I'm developing where I need my text to conform to the width of an image above it - whose width will always be different - think of captions. I have found numerous references to using a 1px table to force this width sizing behaviour. I am having problems, though with Safari and Chrome "seeing" this instruction - the text ends up as a marginally sized text box sitting behind the image. The problem, as I see it, has to do with the text and images sitting in div's nested within the table. I need the images to sit in a div because of some jquery script I'm using called cycle, which turns a group of images into a slideshow. The problem may have something to do with the script as well. In any case, I have tried a seeming infinite number of combination of floating left and clearing left on all all the divs, changing their positions and widths...nothing works. Anyone have any clues about how to broach this one?
