  • How to add a custom button to a UINavigationBar (a la Foursquare)

    - by jfisk
Im going through the different options of creating a custom UINavigationBar and since my app is iOS 5+, i am using this code: // Set the background image all UINavigationBars [[UINavigationBar appearance] setBackgroundImage:NavigationPortraitBackground forBarMetrics:UIBarMetricsDefault]; Now i want a custom image button on the very right side and am a bit lost. Should I go another way, subclass UINavigationBar and add a button to it or would there be an easier way?

  • Is there a way to get all valid keywords for CSS property?

    - by NV
Round two. First was "How do I get all supported CSS properties in WebKit?". I'm looking for magic CSSkeywords function: CSSkeywords('float') --> ['left', 'right', 'none'] CSSkeywords('width') --> ['auto'] CSSkeywords('background') --> [ ["repeat", "repeat-x", "repeat-y", "no-repeat"], ["scroll", "fixed"], ["top", "center", "bottom", "left"], /*regexp for color*/, /*regexp for url*/, "none" ]

  • change elements' css immediately on scroll event

    - by jedierikb
I want to change the background color of in-viewport elements (using overflow: scroll) So here was my first attempt: http://jsfiddle.net/2YeZG/ As you see, there is a brief flicker of the previous color before the new color is painted. Others have had similar problems. Following the HTML5 rocks instructions, I tried to introduce requestAnimationFrame to fix this problem to no avail: http://jsfiddle.net/RETbF/ What am I doing wrong here?

  • How to determine the width of content or size a container to content

    - by ISVK
My goal is to display the entire contents of a FlowDocument (that is, without paginating) in a column layout. It would have a fixed height, but the width would depend on the contents of the FlowDocument. My problem is: FlowDocumentReader does not automatically resize to the contents of the FlowDocument. As you see in my XAML below, FlowDocumentReader.Width is 5000 units (just a large number that can accommodate most documents) -- when I make it Auto, it just clips to the width of the ScrollViewer and paginates my stuff! Is there a proper way of solving this problem? I also made a screenshot of what this looks like now, but the ScrollViewer scrolls past the end of the document in most cases: http://i.imgur.com/3FSRl.png <ScrollViewer x:Name="scrollViewer" HorizontalScrollBarVisibility="Visible" VerticalScrollBarVisibility="Disabled" > <FlowDocumentReader x:Name="flowDocReader" ClipToBounds="False" Width="5000" > <FlowDocument x:Name="flowDoc" Foreground="#FF404040" ColumnRuleWidth="2" ColumnGap="40" ColumnRuleBrush="#FF404040" IsHyphenationEnabled="True" IsOptimalParagraphEnabled="True" ColumnWidth="150"> <Paragraph> Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, ...etc... </Paragraph> <Paragraph> Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, ...etc... </Paragraph> <Paragraph> Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, ...etc... </Paragraph> </FlowDocument> </FlowDocumentReader> </ScrollViewer>

  • jquery ui is not scaling text properly!

    - by Stephen Belanger
    I'm trying use jquery ui to scale a div that I'm dragging around to make it easier to see what's behind it, but any text inside it is scaling strangely. The text itself becomes smaller, but it seems to have a bunch of padding around it and is floating now. The text extends past the bottom of the div even though it should be contained properly by the div. I put a red border around the lines of text and the borders are the same size as the original text. I'm not really sure what to do to get this to work... HTML: <div class="item draggable" id="item-1'"> <div class="image-block"> <a class="delete-button" title="delete me!" href="/remove/1" onclick="return $(this).confirm(\'Really remove this image?\');">X</a> <a class="image" href="/edit/1"><img src="/someimage.jpg" /></a> <div class="clear-block"></div> </div> <h3>Some title</h3> </div> CSS: div.image-list div.item { float:left; background:#fff; width:150px; padding:5px; margin:4px; border:1px solid #d3d5d6; } div.image-list div.item h3 { margin:0; padding:0; border:solid 1px #F00; } div.image-list div.item div.image-block a.delete-button { float:right; position:relative; background:#fff; display:none; top:0.8em; margin-bottom:-20.0em; width:3em; height:1.8em; padding:0.2em 1em; } div.image-list div.item div.image-block a.image { float:left; display:block; } .clear-block { clear:both; } jquery: $(".draggable").draggable({ helper: 'clone', start: function(ev, ui) { $(ui.helper).effect( "scale", { percent: 50 }, 200 ); } });

  • Using HTML Canvas for UI elements?

    - by Tower
Hi, I have a couple of UI elements such as buttons in my web application. I was going to use CSS3's transitions to animate the transition from one background-image to another. I figured out that it's not possible with the current transitions draft at least. So, I was wondering if it would make sense to use Canvas as the button. I'm sure it can handle events, so, I see no problems here. Are there any?

  • Prevent an element from being the target in a document mouseover

    - by Sander
I'm building an firebug-like inspection tool for my page. When the mouse enters an element, the element should be highlighted. Now I'm creating an element which I position absolute on top of the target element, this however means the next mousemove event (which is bound to the document) will fire with the actual "highlight element" as the target. Is there a way to prevent the "highlight element" from being the target element in the mousemove event? The element already has a transparant background.

  • countering a div opacity?

    - by Jason94
If I have a div that acts like a box, and I make it real sexy with 10% opacity. How do I counter it since everything in the div also gets the opacity. Lets say i have a box(div) with a 1px border and text, putting opacity on it will make it look bad and i only want opacity on the background.

  • How can I change my JLabel to look like a table cell with Substance?

    - by DR
I have a custom TableCellRenderer which returns a JLabel as the renderer component. Naturally the table cell now looks like a label and no longer like a table cell, which makes a difference especially when using Substance. Is it possible to modify the label so that the LaF renders it like an ordinary table cell? The best I could do was setting the background color of the label, but the borders and transition effets are missing.

  • Can we find out the difference between 2 RGb colors to find out a 3rd color?

    - by AK
2 colors are mixed together. If i have the RGB for the resultant color and RGB for one of the colors mixed, then somehow i could calculate the 2nd color? I will try to explain visually what i am trying to say. Here is a flickr link http://www.flickr.com/photos/48150615@N08/4407414157 I know that the circle in the middle has an opacity of 20% Is there any way to know the color value of the circle so that i can deduct that to get the same color value as the background color.

  • How to use the ListView_GetBkImage macro in C#

    - by MusiGenesis
How can I use the ListView_GetBkImage macro: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb761246(v=VS.85).aspx ... from a C#/WinForms application? I think this macro just wraps the SendMessage method, but I'm not sure. I couldn't find any C#-based samples on this. Basically I'm trying to get a LVBKIMAGE ( http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb774742(v=VS.85).aspx ) structure that references the Desktop's background bitmap.

  • Get computed font size for DOM element in JS

    - by Pekka
Is it possible to detect the computed font-size of a DOM element, taking into consideration generic settings made elsewhere (In the body tag for example), inherited values, and so on? A framework-independent approach would be nice, as I'm working on a script that should work standalone, but that is not a requirement of course. Background: I'm trying to tweak CKEditor's font selector plugin (source here) so that it always shows the font size of the current cursor position (as opposed to only when within a span that has an explicit font-size set, which is the current behaviour).

  • What are the rules about using an underscore in a C++ identifier?

    - by Roger Lipscombe
It's common in C++ to name member variables with some kind of prefix to denote the fact that they're member variables, rather than local variables or parameters. If you've come from an MFC background, you'll probably use "m_foo". I've also seen "myFoo" occasionally. C# (or possibly just .NET) seems to recommend using just an underscore, as in "_foo". Is this allowed by the C++ standard?
