  I have a piece of code that reads hell of a lot (hundreds of thousand) of relatively small files (couple of KB) from the local file system in a loop. For each file there is a java.io.FileInputStream created to read the content. The process its very slow and take ages. Do you think that wrapping the FIS into java.io.BufferedInputStream would make a significant difference?

  I want to put a string in an excel sheet from my Export to excel function. However my string is as follows: string : Red, red wine Go to my head Make me forget that I Still need and on my excel I get unexpected results , column change after comma and also column change when there is no full stop in front of an UPPER CASE alphabet. The Upper case alphabets (without a full stop before them) are also causing this (Go , Make . Still) How can I solve this issue ? • How can I terminate a multicast stream (asr - Mac) in a script?

  Hello, I'm making a script to to run a bunch of multicast asr streams, but I do not know how to "stop" or "end" a multicast asr stream after a certain amount of time. Loop Suspend does not do what I'm looking for. I've also tried to add a sleep command followed by a kill command, but they kick in after the stream ends (so that approach does not work). Thanks for any possible help! By the way, I'm writing this script in bash.

  Is there a way to run a loop through a folder and process like 30 files for a month and give the average,max of each columns and write in one excel sheet or so?? I have 30 files of size [43200 x 30] I ran a different matlab scrip to generate them so the names are easy File_2010_04_01.xls , File_2010_04_02.xls ..... and so on I cannot merge them as each are 20mbs and matlab would crash. Any ideas? Thanks

  I'm new to PHP and MySQL I want a user to be able to store multiple names and there meanings in a MySQL database tables named names using PHP I will dynamically create form fields with JQuery every time a user clicks on a link so a user can enter 1 to 1,000,000 different names and there meanings which will be stored in a table called names. Since I asked my last question I figured out how to store my values from my form using the for loop but every time I loop my values when I add one or more dynamic fields the second form field named meaning will not save the value entered also my dynamic form fields keep looping doubling, tripling and so on the entered values into the database it all depends on how many form fields are added dynamically. I was wondering how can I fix these problems? On a side note I replaced the query with echo's to see the values that are being entered.   Hi all, I have an asp.net page that runs certain algorithm and returns it's output. I was wondering what will happen and how to handle a case where the algorithm due to a bug goes into infinite loop. It will hog the cpu and other sessions will be served very slowly.
