jQuery all inputs with unique id

I have some textboxes on a webform that have ids like this: txtFinalDeadline_1 txtFinalDeadline_2 txtFinalDeadline_3 txtFinalDeadline_4 In my jQuery how do I find all of those in order to assign a value to them. Before I had the underscore and they were all named txtFinalDeadline I could do this and it worked. $(this).find("#txtFinalDeadline").val(formatDate); However, that was when they were all named the same thing. Now I have the _x after the name and I'm not sure how to go about assigning that same value as before to them. Thanks.

changing img src with JQuery but leave pathing info intact?

I'm using JQuery to switch out an image src thusly: $("#myImg").attr("src", "../../new.gif"); notice the relative pathing on the new src. Unfortunately, this isn't portable when I deploy my app. In my MVC app I'm using a ResolveUrl() method that will fix the pathing problem for me so it's portable, but now my JQuery image src swapper doesn't work right since it now switches the correctly resolved path to a broken relative one. <img id="myImg" src="<%=ResolveUrl("~/Images/transparent.gif")%>" /> What I want is for JQuery to just flip the actual filename and leave the path untouched. My first thought would be to // pseudocode javascript jquery on my thought on how to approach this prob var oldFullPath = $('#myImg").GetTheImgSrc; var newFileNameWithPathIntact = someRegexAddNewFileNameWithOldPath $("#myImg").attr("src", newFileNameWithPathIntact); but that seems rather gross and un-JQuery to me. I have 2 links and depending on which one they click on want to close all others and show only the information for that link. Example: <div class="shipping-container"> <a href="#" class="ups">Show UPS info</a> <a href="#" class="fedex">Show Fedex info</a> <div class="ups info" style="display:none">the info for ups</div> <div class="fedex info" style="display:none">the info for fedex</div> </div> Any ideas how I can do this with Jquery toggle for clicking one of the links and hide all others if there open. I only want to show info for one shipping method at a time. Also I would like an option for the user to click showall and all of them are displayed, if possible. Thanks in advance....

Add CSS Class to link based on Character Count with jquery

I have links that load dynamically onto a background to make them look like buttons. Some of the links take up two lines and some of the links take up 1 line. Eithe way they need to be vertically centered. My plan to to append a class based on the number of characters and then adjust the padding from there. So if the link's text is 25 characters (including spaces) or less - append class 'small' if the link's text is greater than 25 characters - append class 'large' How would I go about doing this with jQuery?

Cross-Browser jQuery text-zoom implementation

I've got some code to increase/decrease font size. This is giving me a headache because each browser seems to implement the $.css('font-size') differently (see jquery bug). The part that's really killing me, though, is that Firefox is scaling up okay, but when I use the scale down function below, it scales up. Webkit & IE are both working as expected. Any ideas on that? I put this in a fiddle here: http://jsfiddle.net/srQ3P/1/ where you can see it working as expected, and you can see it broken in firefox at the project page: http://cumberlandme.info/residents MAJOR EDIT Sorry, the issue is not the code, it's firefox buggy behavior. After I zoom in or out with the browser controls (ctrl + plus or ctrol + minus) the js goes haywire. This doesn't happen in other browsers. This is the real issue. Any advice on that

I cannot get this Jquery Image ComboBox to Work

Im trying to use this plugin: http://www.marghoobsuleman.com/jquery-image-dropdown I cannot get it to work in my file. I copied and pasted the code from the example files and made the necessary links to the js and css files just to test, and i still cant get it to work. Autocomplete jQuery 1.8-UI JSON Format

I'm toying with the new autocomplete in jQuery 1.8-UI. I've provided data in the following format ["val1", "val2", "val3"] This is coming from a stored procedure but output as a string. For some reason this doesn't work at all, however, if I supply the same data using a javascript variable var data = ["val1", "val2", "val3"]; Then this works fine. <script type="text/javascript"> $(function() $("#txtClient").autocomplete({ source: "/intranet/common/scripts/IntranetLists.aspx?ListType=C" }); }); </script> I've got a page which supplies whatever data I want using query strings. Hi, I am trying to use jQuery to position an inpage div (Context-Menu) relative to a clicked tablerow on a webpage. This works fine until I add an offset with either "left" or "margin-left" to the outer container. Using padding-left works.... The relevant code is: $('#supermenu').position({ my: "left top", at: "left top", of: $(event.target).closest('tr'), collision: "fit" }); The caller looks like: <tr onclick="getMenu(event)"><td>.... What happens: The left margin is added "twice" to the X Offset, so the Menu is not aligned to the left border of the table but somewhere right of it. The offset from the border is exactly the offset from the outer container. Anybody can shed some light? Oliver

XML jQuery Problem

This code for parsing my xml and appending via jquery seems to work great in every browser but Chrome (Mac only, the windows version of chrome works fine) and explorer. I'm not aware of any glaring issues in the code so I thought some fresh eyes might help. JQuery Validation using Remote posts empty data to webservice

I'm using the JQuery Validation plugin. I'm using the remote option to make a call to my webservice to check if a company name exists. The webservice only accepts JSON data. I pass the data to the webservice from the Company Input Field in my Form as follows: data: "{'company': '" + $('#Company').val() + "'}" But this always returns a blank value for company so the response is {'company':''} i.e. correct JSON but missing the Company Input Field value. Can anyone shed some light on why I always get a blank value here? Thanks for the help, Ciaran

Update options to jQuery slider via form

I have a jQuery Slider, and I am trying to make it more dynamic by adding three input fields: min max step I want to take those fields and then onblur update my slider options. I read that you can set options like this: $('.selector').slider('option', 'max', 7); And do the same for min,step, etc along with the other options. I tried playing with it yesterday, but I'm not sure how to get it to update. I am using a form with no submit button, so just change on blur. I know I would get the .val() of the input and set it to a variable then would it be: $('.selector').slider('option', 'max', var_here); Any thoughts?

Select list value undefined in $(document).ready

I have the following code, which I want to load values on a selection change, and also do the selection load initially (since FF 'saves' the last value of the drop down under certain circumstances). The select part of the function works correctly, but for some reason when calling load2 directly the value of $('#select1').value is undefined, even though when I check the DOM in Firebug right after load select1.value has a value. Fadeout a tiled background image in load using JQuery

Hi, I've used JQuery in the past to fade divs in and out successfully. However, I have encountered a situation I can't quite wrap my head around: I am coding a site for a designer who has based the formatting of all the elements on a grid pattern he's created. As he wants the pattern elements to be the same size independent of the browser window, I think I can only do this via a repeating background tiled image in CSS. Now he wants the background pattern (only) to come in dark and fade to very light, while not effecting any of the other elements. Am I right in thinking it's impossible to call a tiled background pattern using a CSS selector? Does anyone have any suggestions of a workaround to this problem?

Sending JSON(jQuery) to PHP and decoding it

I can't for the life of me figure out what I'm doing wrong. It seems like it should be simple because I can't find anyone else with this issue but I can't figure out to send basic data via javascript(jQuery) to PHP and decode it. For the sake of simplicity, this is what I have: JAVASCRIPT var json_data = { "name" : "john doe" }; $.ajax({ type: "POST", url: "../bin/process.php", dataType: "json", data: json_data }); and my PHP FILE $arr = json_decode("json_data", true); $fp = fopen('data.txt', "w"); fwrite($fp, $arr['name']); fclose($fp); The file I'm writing ends up with nothing in it. If I do an: fwrite($fp, 'test'); I get a file with the word test in it but no matter what I do I don't get the json data I sent. Can someone please share a thorough example of A to Z. Morphing content based on window part focus

What I'm trying to achieve is basically have a code that will morph ( move around the page ) based on the part of the window which is currently viewed. Scenario : - actual page height : 2000px - actual screen height( pc, laptop whatever ) : 800px - 1 image of 600px - 3 div's or virtual boxes ( just to prove what I want to do ) Workflow When you open the page, you'd see the first part of the page with the image loaded in the first div. What I want and need to achieve is when scrolling the page, and the focus would be on the second div ( or the image simply gets out of focus - you can't see it no more ), the image would move ( disappear from the first box ) and appear in the second one, which is currently visible. The idea might seem pretty easy but I'm not Javascript savvy. Ideally, the answer should include a way to load a Javascript instead of that image.

Grab only 2 items from Jquery Loop

However I want it to only display only 2 of the results. I tried instantiating some kind of index counter but I was unsuccessful. Any help or thoughts would be appreciated.
