  I have a the folder c:\test\ and two files in it a.txt and b.txtv. I would like to process just the files with extension equal to .txt. If I write this commands cd c:\test for %f in (*.txt) do echo %f I will get the result where both a.txt and b.txtv are listed. The same happens with cd c:\test dir *.txt It seems .txt is the same of .txtv. I have Windows XP SP3 in Italian and the result of ver is Microsoft Windows XP [Versione 5.1.2600]. The same result is from Windows 7 in English Microsoft Windows XP [Version 6.1.7601].

• win 8.1 with two startup logins. One local and one microsoft account

  On my win 8 pc when the pc was turned on i disabled the login password and it autogone to the start. After i updated to win 8.1 it first takes me to a login and its not set to me microsoft account but as other user. Thus is fails to login and i have to click below login as a microsoft account and reenter everytime my email and password. In windows in users there is only one user and thats the one i had before. No local account set or something. Same to accounts in control panel. How do i disable this double accounts?

• Injection of banners in my webbrowsers possible malware

  Recently I have started to suspect that I have some kind of virus on my computer. There are 3 symptoms: Banners are being displayed on pages that doesn't use commercials, for instance when viewing screen-shots on Steam. It is only displayed after the rest of the page has been loaded and seems to be injected into it. The whole page is replaced with a commercial with the option to skip the commercial. The page is replaced with a search window claiming that the page could not be found. I have tried to scan my computer with Antivir and Adaware but only found a couple of tracking cookies. I have run HijackThis but since this isn't really my area I haven't been able to discern what shouldn't be there except the line about zonealarm since I have uninstalled it. Is there anyone out there who is able to see if there is anything suspicious in the log-file at the end or has suggestions regarding programs that might be better to find the virus than Antivir and Adaware? • Where is the Microsoft.Windows.Controls.dll in the Nov 2009 Silverlight Toolkit?

  I want to use WrapPanel in Silverlight 3. It is apparently in the Silverlight Toolkit. All the information I can find on it say to download the toolkit, unzip the download, look in the folder binaries and you will find Microsoft.Windows.Controls.dll. This works for December 2008 version of the Silverlight toolkit just fine, since it is a zip file. But I would like the newest version. However, the November 2009 version of the Silverlight toolkit is an .msi file which installs but doesn't tell me where Microsoft.Windows.Controls.dll is. Nor is it in the Add Service | .NET tab. How can I get the Microsoft.Windows.Controls.dll from the November 2009 Silverlight Toolkit install so I can use WrapPanel in Silverlight 3?

• Java split xml file

  Hi all, I'm working on a piece of code to split files. I want to split flat file (that's ok, it is working fine) and xml file. The idea is to split based of a number of files to split: I have a file, and I want to split it in x files (x is a parameters). I'm doing the split by taking the size of the file and spliting the size by the number of files to split. Then, mysolution was to use a BufferedReader and to use it like while ((n = reader.read(buffer, 0, buffer.length)) != -1) { { The main problem is that for the xml file I cannot just split it, but I have to split it based on a block delimited by a start xml tag and end xml tag: <start tag> bla bla xml stuff </end tag> So I cannot cut a block at the middle. So if when I'm at the half of a block, is the size of my new file is greater than my max, I will have to read until the end of the tag, and then, to start a next file. The problem is that I have all sort of cases, and is a bit difficult to search the end tag. - the block reads a text until the middle of the end tag - the block reads a text until the end of the end tag, and no more other caracter after - etc and in the same time to have a loop and read the next block. Some times the end of a block concatenated with the start of the next one, I have the end xml tag. I hope you get the idea. My question is, does anyone have some algorithm that does that more accurate and who i treating all special cases ? The idea is to split the file as quickly as possible. Thanks alot.

  I have a bunch of domain entities that can be keyword tagged (a Tag is also an entity.) I want to do a normal many-to-many (Tag - TagReview <- Review) table relationship but I don't want to have to create a new concrete relationship on both the Entity and Tag every single time I add a new entity. I anticipate there will be maybe 5-10 entities so mapping normally would be ok but is there a way to do something like this?

• How can I build against Microsoft.Web.Administration (IIS 7.x) on a Windows 2003 build machine?

  Hi, I am writing a C# config app for (amongst other things) setting up websites. It's only required to support IIS 7.x (Windows 2008 / 2008 R2), and requiring the compatibility pack is a no-no, so I figured I'd just use the Microsoft.Web.Administration namespace. However, the only place I can find the assembly that contains this namespace (Microsoft.Web.Administration.dll) is from the IIS 7.x installation folder, and our main build machines are Windows 2003 and so cannot install IIS 7.x. One option is to mandate a 2008 build machine but we currently only have one so that's not ideal. We've already ruled out appcmd.exe. The other option is to make a package consisting of the dlls necessary to build against Microsoft.Web.Administration.dll. Has anyone tried that? Is there such a package already in existence, hidden somewhere on the MS download site? Thanks in advance.

• TabHost disappears after locking the phone and reopening it:

  I have a weird issue with my TabHost in my FragmentActivity that contains a ViewPager. The problem is that when I close my phone (press the power button) while I use my application, and then I turn back the phone and my application gets reopened, at this point my TabHost is missing. So the closing of my phone is causes the TabHost to disappear. But when I want to get (filter) all Objects that have Tag1 and Tag2 I tried to something like this: query = Q(tags__tag=Tag1) & Q(tags__tag=Tag2) object_list = TaggedObjects.filter(query) but now my object_list is empty, because it is looking for TaggedObjects that have one ObjectTagBridge with 2 tag objects, the first with Tag1 and the second with Tag2. I my application will be more complex Q queries than this one, so I think I need a solution with this Q object. In fact any combination of binary conjunctions, like: (...) and ( (...) or not(...))   I'd like to accomplish what this (invalid I believe) regular expression tries to do: <p><a>([^(<\/a>)]+?)<\/a></p>uniquestring Essentially match anything except a closing anchor tag. Simple non-greedy doesn't help here because `uniquestring' may very well be after another distant closing anchor tag: <p><a>text I don't <tag>want</tag> to match</a></p>random data<p><a>text I do <tag>want to</tag> match</a></p>uniquestring more matches <p><a>of <tag>text I do</tag> want to match</a></p>uniquestring So I have more tag in between the anchor tags. And I'm using the presence of uniquestring to determine if I want to match the data. So a simple non-greedy ends up matching everything from the start of the data I don't want to the end of the data I do want. I know I'm edging close to the problems regular expressions (or at least my knowledge of them) aren't good at solving. I could just through the data at an HTML/XML parser, but it is just one simple(ish) search. Is there some easy way to do this that I'm just missing?

• git tagging comments - best practices

  I've adopted a tagging system of x.x.x.x, and this works fine. However, you also need to leave a comment with your git tag. I've been using descriptions such as "fixes bug Y" or "feature X", but is this the best sort of comment to be leaving? Particularly, what if a tag encompasses several fixes, it seems not to make sense to have a very long tag comment. Does this mean that I should be creating a tag for every bug fix or feature, or should the tag comments be reflective of something else? I have a few ideas that may be good, but I'd love some advice from seasoned git tagging veterans :) For those who prefer specific examples: 1.0.0.0 - initial release 1.0.0.1 - bug fix for issue X 1.0.0.2 - (what if this is a bug fix for multiple issues, the comment would be too long, no?) Another example, in this example, the comments are more or less the same as the tags, it seems redundant.   Hello, I'm trying to sysprep a Windows 7 Professional machine, prior to grabbing an image for mass deployment on identical hardware, and am having a hard time getting sysprep to work (at all). I've created an XML answer file with WSIM, and have a basic setupcomplete.cmd file, but none of the configurations in the answer file seem to be applied. I've read technet articles and googled, and I still have no idea why this is happening. • TFS API Add Favorites programmatically

  01 – What are we trying to achieve? In this blog post I’ll be showing you how to add work item queries as favorites, it is also possible to use the same technique to add build definition as favorites. Once a shared query or build definition has been added as favorite it will show up on the team web access.  In this blog post I’ll be showing you a work around in the absence of a proper API how you can add queries to team favorites. 02 – Disclaimer There is no official API for adding favorites programmatically. In the work around below I am using the Identity service to store this data in a property bag which is used during display of favorites on the team web site. This uses an internal data structure that could change over time, there is no guarantee about the key names or content of the values. What is shown below is a workaround for a missing API. 03 – Concept There is no direct API support for favorites, but you could work around it using the identity service in TFS.  Favorites are stored in the property bag associated with the TeamFoundationIdentity (either the ‘team’ identity or the users identity depending on if these are ‘team’ or ‘my’ favorites).  The data is stored as json in the property bag of the identity, the key being prefixed by ‘Microsoft.TeamFoundation.Framework.Server.IdentityFavorites’. • Is this DFP error message the reason my ad won't show?

  I'm setting up DFP to display ads and I have an ad tag (Javascript) from adtechus.com. The tag looks like this: <script src="http://adserver.adtechus.com/?adrawdata/1.0/1111/11111/0/0/ADTECH;loc=100;noperf=1;"></script> When I paste that tag into DFP, I get an error message saying it does't recognize the tag format: ...and, more importantly, my ad isn't showing on the page. DFP seems to be taking my adtechus ad tag regardless and working with it, despite the error message. But could that be the reason my ad isn't showing? And how can I fix it?

• How To Purchase An MSDN License In India [closed]

  I need to purchase a single license for Visual Studio Professional with MSDN. The MSDN buy site (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/subscriptions/bb841434.aspx) does not allow purchases from India. It directs Indians to purchase from resellers. I contacted Microsoft and they sent me a link to a list of resellers http://www.microsoft.com/india/originalsoftware/business/retailStore1.aspx Many of these resellers do not even have a website. Many of them do not exist at the addresses mentioned (they have moved). Microsoft support personnel also seem very cagey about releasing any information. They do not even read the mail. They simply resend their canned response with the same link. There are many resellers (not mentioned in the microsoft page) who are selling MSDN subscriptions. Are they legitimate?
