• Microsoft Reporting v.10 load problem

  Hi, I am trying to reference microsoft reporting v.10.0.0.0 in my vs studio web site. For some reason it can't achieve that as it is always giving me a compile error that it could not load the type. Error 2625 Could not load type 'Microsoft.Reporting.RdlBuildProvider' from assembly 'Microsoft.ReportViewer.Common, Version=10.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a' One thing that I think it might be a cause is that I had moved from 9.0.0.0 to 10.0.0.0 and after that it does not work. Any suggestions? Thanks a lot!

• Microsoft flexgrid Control : Run-time error '438' Object doesnt support this property or method

  I am maintaining a legacy Microsoft Access application that is using the Microsoft Flexgrid 6.0. It recently started causing the following error: Run-time error '438' Object doesn't support this property or method People say that this error can be caused by the KB960715 security update being applied, which sets killbits on various ActiveX control methods which were deemed a security risk. But this or no other security update has been applied recently. Others say that installing Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0 Service Pack 6 Cumulative Update will update the flex grid. This requires VB6 to be installed as a prerequisite so I installed that on my PC and then the update, and retrieved the updated MsFlxGrd.ocx file(Version: 6.1.98.12) and copied to the application machine, but the error still prevails. Someone here says you can disable the killbit in the registry. But there are afew hundred nodes in the location they suggest, none of which has the same guid as the one they point out. Any ideas?

• How can I get full filenames from Git difftool (for Microsoft Word "Compare Documents" feature)?

  I am using the latest version of Git (1.6.6) on a Mac. My wife wants to use Git to manage her fiction writing as long as she can still use Microsoft Word 2008 (Mac). Instead of pushing her into saving everything as plain text, I would like to use Git Difftool to pass the files to Word and use Word's Compare Documents feature. She wouldn't be able to use Git Diff since Word docs are binary files but she could still use Git Difftool. I have written an Applescript which takes two filenames in this format: /Users/foo/Documents/my_novel.docx and opens Word to do the file comparison. However, Git Difftool seems to only pass the bare filenames (e.g. my_novel.docx) as parameters. Is there anyway to get the full filenames from Git Difftool? Thanks, Doug

  Hi There, I'm working with a WCF service in Azure, which uses Windows Live ID authentication with the recent deviceid requirements. When I host my WCF service locally in the compute emulator, it works properly, but when I deploy the cloud service to Azure and call it the same way (from another project that uses the WCF service as a service reference), I get the error: Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.IdentityModel, Version=3.5.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified. I found this post : http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/netservices/thread/cd139b5c-ad12-4298-af2f-1b2d0136a977 But there are a few problems: 1. I don't seem to have access to Microsoft.IdentityModel, only System.IdentityModel. I'm not sure why it's searching for something in 3.5 at all, as I'm building in .NET 4.0. 2.   Hi, I have a asp.net application in order to start/stop applications and ports of Biztalk server 2006 r2. I have used "Microsoft.Biztalk.explorerom.dll (C:/Program Files/Biztalk Server 2006/Developer tool) " to achieve this. This is working fine on development machine since biz talk server is installed on local machine. But in the production environment (asp.net web server ,windows 2003 and iis 6.0)...this give System.nullreferenceexception (object reference not set..) at BtsCatalogExplorer explorer = (BtsCatalogExplorer)myGroup.CreateInstance(typeof(BtsCatalogExplorer)) my biztalk server and sql server are on two different box. In my setup (asp.net web application)..adding Microsoft.Biztalk.explorerom.dll and Microsoft.Biztalk.Applicationdeployment.engine.dll to GAC. But still no luck. Do i need to install biz talk server on my local machine even though I am connecting to different biz talk server?? And help is appreciated...

For qmake and cmake i specify in hard the path of the Psapi.lib. qmake : win32 { LIBS += "C:\Program Files\Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v7.0A\Lib\Psapi.Lib" } cmake : SET(PSAPI "C:/Program Files/Microsoft SDKs/Windows/v7.0A/Lib/Psapi.Lib") But i want to avoid the hard path, is there is any way to search the SDK lib ? • Can I use the browser's word-wrapping from JavaScript?

  I have some text in a div. It can be any Unicode text under the sun, including Chinese, Japanese, and Korean. Now, I need to take this text and word-wrap it in JavaScript in some efficient but correct manner. (Because I need to make each line start with "" in a textarea.) Browsers have an implementation of the Unicode Word Wrap algorithm, as is evidenced by word-wrapping Unicode text in a with CSS. (At least, Firefox has such an algorithm, and I suspect other browsers do as well.) What I need is some way for JavaScript to use the same word-wrapping algorithm, so that I can properly wrap and then "quote" Unicode text. Is there any way for JavaScript to use the browser's word-wrapping algorithm, or to know where text has been line-broken in a div or any other element?

  I've searched this as much as I can in the time available, but haven't turned anything up. Does anyone know if it is possible to access data backed up from a WinMo device to Microsoft's MyPhone service programatically, without having to restore all the data back to the device? I'm looking at a way of also keeping a local backup of contacts and SMS messages on my desktop machine, but it seems that if there is an API for doing so, Microsoft haven't advertised it at all. I'm hoping that my inability to find any reference on Google is due to my incompetence rather than it not being supported by Microsoft.

  Let's say I have the word "CAT". These words differ from "CAT" by one letter (not the full list) CUT CAP PAT FAT COT etc. Is there an elegant way to generate this? Obviously, one way to do it is through brute force. pseduo code: while (0 to length of word) while (A to Z) replace one letter at a time, and check if the resulting word is a valid word If I had a 10 letter word, the loop would run 26 * 10 = 260 times. Is there a better, elegant way to do this?

  I have a macro which can read the last cell/column of all tables in a Word 2003/2007 document and store the data in an MS-Access table. But, some Word documents have the data in structures like a table format but are not actually tables. The structure looks like a table, but the table borders are actually line connectors. These documents were created by a software(VeryPDF PDF to Word converter) which converted the PDF documents(the original format these documents were) into Word documents. Is there a way I can convert/replace the tabular structures with actual tables in Word so that I can use the macro? Or, is there a way I can read the value of the last column from the tabular structures using some VBA code? Any advice would be appreciated.

  I have installed the application on the client's server. Here's the issue though.. The client's server is running on medium trust. With medium trust godaddy does not give persmissions to certain files. If I delete the "Microsoft.Practices.ObjectBuilder.dll" and "Microsoft.Practices.ObjectBuilder.xml", the pages load. But when I try to save the form, I get some error related to this dll. So I need to find an alternative for this dll. I cannot use this DLL. my save, delete, select process is depend on this dll plz provide any solution if u have. thanks in advance

• issue when promoting a second server as domain on r2 2008

  Hello, I'm in an odd situatuion here, I've upgraded my network to a 2008 domain from a 2003 with out any issue, this works fine and all the FSMO are in one DC, I was about to install a second domain on a 2008R2 and this error is coming up again and again. I The problem is I keep getting an area telling me that I need to run adprep /domainPrep /forestPrep, but when I run it on the First DC, it tells me this has already been run and updated and it is aborted. Does anyone have any ideas on why I can't add a Server 2008 machine as a domain controller?

  I'm a novice at spreadsheets, so I hope you'll forgive me if I'm asking a super obvious question. Is it possible to use tags in Excel/Google Spreadsheet? I'm creating a spreadsheet to log all the articles and books I'm reading. Say I'm reading "I, Claudius". I want to give it these tags: history, fiction, biography, disability, politics, drama. Then, if I want to display all the articles/books tagged with "politics", I can maybe search/display/pivot with that tag. Maybe preferably, the tags should all be in one cell with each word separated by a comma. If each word were in a cell of its own, it would make the table really messy, I think. I am open to other labelling solutions too. Thanks!

• Can I password protect a Publisher file?

  I was asked ealier this week if it was possible to password protect a Microsoft Office 2007 Publisher document. I was under the impression that it would be like protecting a Word document, by going to Office Save As Word Document Tools General Options and creating a password to modify, like shown below. This also works for Excel documents. However, in Publisher 2007 the option is not there. The only option under "Tools" is "Map network drive". We overcame the issue as saving as a PDF and distributing that, but is there a way to do what we want?

• Cut in excel doesn't work, and copying tables from one program to another returns text

  My excel 2007 on Windows 7 operating system seems to have a probelm with regular cut function. when I highlight cells I want to cut and press cut (either on keyboard shortcut Ctrl+x, Home menu cut command, or from the right-click menu) cells start flashing for a split second and after that they only turn normal. When I want to paste them, they past as if copy function was used. If I try to rightclick to use function "insert cut cells" it is not one of the offered options at all. On my home computer I have same combination, Excel 2007 on windows 7 and it works just fine. COuld the problem be due to 64-bit win7 version at my job, and 32-bit version at home? Another problem is when I copy table from excel to word, in word pasting results in unformatted text instead of table as it was in excel. Did someone have such problems and can offer a solution? • Transferring Conditional Formatting (without the cell value) in Excel

  If I have 3 layers of conditional formatting in a cell (B2) is there a way of transferring the format of cell (B2) to another cell (A2) without copying across the value in the original cell (B2). I.e. in b2 I have conditional formatting dependent on what is selected from a drop down list of 4 options). I want the format to be copied across the the cell before this (A2) without the values being copied across. Essentially A2 has the title and B2 has the value but I would like the same formatting across both. I have manged to do it by setting A2 as ="Title "&B2 and applying conditional formatting to this. The spacing means the text from B2 doesn't show. This works but is really ugly. Is there a better way givern there ae too many conditions for a standard IF function. (if possible the solution should be windows 2003 compatible)

  When you have text in an Excel cell that is too long to be shown in the visible area of a single cell and the cell next to the first cell (the one on the right) is empty, Excel lets the text to be printed onto the next cell. This is what I want to change. I want to avoid this text overflow. I know I can avoid this by enabling "word wrap" and adjusting row height. But that is not what I want. I want to change the DEFAULT behavior of Excel so it shows the value of each cell only in the visible area of that cell. No overflow, no word wrap. Is this possible? (I am using Excel 2010 by the way)

• Create room mailbox in Exchange 2007 - cannot view calendar

  I'm an application developer and I'm trying to play around with Exchange in order to integrate a room booking system with it. I've created a room mailbox and have set it so that it auto-accepts appointment requests. When creating an appointment as a standard user I can add the room as a resource and its availability will display. However, I can add it as a shared calendar to Outlook 2003 (Unable to display the folder. The Calendar folder could not be found) nor can I return the calendar folder using Exchange Web Services (again, could not find the folder). I've also created an appointment via Exchange Web Services with a room as a resource. The resource was successfully booked (as confirmed when opening it as the room's delegate) but it does not appear on the meeting as viewed by any of the attendees. Is there anything further I need to do in order to share this calendar? How do most organisations set up their Exchange with regards to rooms?

What about us, using these products for ten years?<whining off> I want to control moving around with arrow keys, and Enter to only return me from the cell editing mode to navigation, not moving down. • Excel chart: How to reverse the X axis of time series data

  In Excel 2003, I have a time series from a financial report that goes something like this: 2007 2006 2005 Amount 300 200 100 I want to create a graph of the time series that looks something like this (please excuse the ugly ascii graph): 300| .x | ... 200| .x.. | ... 100| x |____________________ 0 2005 2006 2007 But intead of getting an upward sloping graph, excel wants to put my time series in reverse (the way it actually appears in the spreadsheet). Is there any way to make excel display the x axis in reverse of the way it normally does? I've tried manually reversing the range in the chart dialog (changing a range of B1:D3 to D3:B1), but excel just puts it back.

• How can I configure Windows Server 2008/IIS 7 to send email via an asp.net web application?

  I recently moved a long-functioning web app from a Windows 2003 server to a windows 2008 server. Everything works fine, save for the email service (send password and the like). The code works on my local machine and the original web server. The system throws no errors, but the message stays endlessly in the Queue. I have granted full access to all relevant users (Network Service, IISUsers, etc). Is there something I'm missing, or does IIS7 just not send email via web applications?
