• Backup multiple Exchange Accounts without direct access to exchange server

  For e-mail, we use Microsoft Exchange and it is hosted by 1and1.com. We have about 30 Exchange accounts that I would like to backup to a PST file. That is, for each account that we have (all 30), I would like to create a single PST file (1.pst thru 30.pst). I do not have direct access to the Exchange server. Basically, for each Exchange account, I can supply: The IP address for the Exchange server or the URL to the OWA. The Username The Password Is there a tool out there that can do this for me? It seems that Microsoft's "Online Services Migration Tools" comes awfully close, but it appears that its geared to pull data out of any Exchange server and push it into Microsoft Online. I don't believe it can be used to simply pull the data out and generate PST's.

• Visual Studio compiles WPF application twice during build

  I have a WPF app in VS2008 that compiles twice during the build. The two CSC command lines are similar but with some differences. The first CSC command line does not have an /resource options, the second has two /resource options on the command line.   Hello, I have web service on IIS 7 on Windows 2008. This web service must dlls of .NET Framework 3.5 (I have error about System.Linq using when I try to browse the web site) The only place I found where it is possible to change .NET Framework version is application pools management, but The only two options I have are: no management code and .NET Framework 2. In add/remove programs I have .NET Framework 3.5 installed and event does to it repair and iisreset, but I still have only to options in application pools management. Any ideas? Thank you for ahead.

• ASP.NET Wizard control with Dynamic UserControls

  Hello everyone I'm trying to use the Wizard control as follows: 1 - In the first step (first screen) has a cheklistbox with several options 2 - For each option selected, will be created an extra step 3 - In some steps may be set up intermediate stages Me problem is that each step is a usercontrol. So if the first step I select option1 and option3, I should create two more steps with usercontrol1 and UserControl3 .... Someone already did something similar? I will try explain better the problem. • SQL 2008 Database tuning advisor won’t start

  For some reason I can't get DTA to connect to my development machine. It connects to a remote DB just fine but when I point it to my dev machine I get an error saying: Failed to initialize MSDB database for tuning (exit code: -1073741819). I'm pretty sure it's not a permissions issue since I've used profiler to capture what it's doing and all of the commands it's run so far look fine and are being run under my account which is associated with the sysadmin role, when I run them in sql management studio they go through fine. I'm pretty convinced that the problem is related to creating the objects in MSDB that are used by DTA but I tried creating these manually (I found scripts on the web) and it just seems to push the problem along the line slightly. I'm going out of my mind - have even tried reinstalling SQL but that's not fixed it. I'm using SQL 2008 with SP1 (10.0.2531) on windows server 2008 (patched up to date). SAVE ME!!!!!

• Using MigLayout, why is a JButton following a JTable unresponsive and how to fix this?

  Hi everyone, I am having a mind-boggling problem regarding the use of a JButton following a JTable with MigLayout. It is totally unresponsive unless I push it far enough past the JTable (then it can behave correctly). I have tried running the code with both the MigLayout JAR of the version we use for end user products and with the very most recent one; same result. • Setting up Github post-receive webhook with private Jenkins and private repo

  I'm trying to set up a private GitHub project to send a post-receive request to a private Jenkins instance to trigger a project build on branch push. Using latest Jenkins with the GitHub plugin. I believe I set up everything correctly on the Jenkins side because when sending a request from a public server with curl like this: curl http://username:password@ipaddress:port/github-webhook/ results in: Stacktrace: net.sf.json.JSONException: null object which is fine because the JSON payload is missing. Sending the wrong username and password in the URI results in: Exception: Failed to login as username I interpret this as a correct Jenkins configuration. Both of these requests also result in entries in the Jenkins log. However, when pasting the exact same URI from above into the Github repository Post-Receive URLs Service Hook and clicking on Test Hook, absolutely nothing seems to happen on my server. Nothing in the Jenkins log and the GitHub Hook Log in the Jenkins project says Polling has not run yet. I have run out of ideas and don't know how to proceed further.

• Routing all Traffic through OpenVPN Tunnel

  I have installed OpenVPN server on Archlinux and am now using OpenVPN GUI on Windows 7, I can talk to other computers connected through the VPN but I have not yet figured out how to route all traffic through the tunnel. How do I do this? I figured I need to do it with route ( cmd command ) but I think i need some pointers here. I've followed the OpenVPN HowTo on the matter but that doesn't work, it simply doesn't push the "force the client to go through this gateway"-option. And changing from OpenVPN to a PPTP / IPSec alternative is not an option at the moment.

• How to install Snow Leopard Server over Regular Snow Leopard

  I'm in the ADC so I have legitimate access to a free copy of Snow Leopard Server and licence key which I need to use to test my Push Notifications. I downloaded the software, and when I opened the .dmg I saw "Click to install Snow Leopard Server" which I did, and then it prompted me to restart the computer to begin installation. When the computer restarted, however, it just booted into my regular OS X partition. I kept trying to no avail. Obviously I'm missing something stupid here but I'm not a server admin so I don't know what to do :) The dmg is almost 6GB so I can't burn a DVD of it. I really need your help! Thanks guys!

• Open vSwitch and Xen Private Networks

  I've read about the possibilities of using Open vSwitch with Xen to route traffic between domUs on multiple physical hosts. I'd like to be able to group the multiple domUs I have spread out across multiple physical hosts into a number of private networks. However, I've found no documentation on how to integrate Open vSwitch with Xen (rather than XenServer) and am unsure how I should go about doing so and then creating the private networks described. As you might have gathered then - from research I think Open vSwitch can do what I need it to, but I just can't find anything giving me a push in the right direction of how to actually use it to do so! This may well be because Open vSwitch is quite new (version 1.0 released on May 17). Any pointers in the right direction would be much appreciated!

• Keeping local windows folder in sync with remote ftp folder in real time

  I know it has been asked before, but I would like it to happen in real time and transparently (without the need to open a separate FTP client such as FileZilla). For example, if I edit a text file in the local folder and then save it, it should immediately detect it and push the changes to the remote folder. It can be unidirectional (changes made on the local folder has to be pushed to the remote folder but the reverse is not necessary). It should also be able to specify some excluded files/folders which do not need to be in sync. Is there such an application that you know of?

• howto only tunnel specific hosts route through openvpn client on tomato

  I am relatively newbie in networking world although I did coding and know some sysadmin background for a long time. and here I'm only one step from my destination. The whole picture is : at home I use one LinkSys E3000 as the gateway(don't know yet if this is it's name), wireless AP and no other routing/switching devices. It serves 1 PC and 1 Mac with LAN, 1 Mac Mini + 1 iPad + 2 smartphones with WIFI. My goal is use an openvpn client on the E3000 (with tomato firmware) and make my iPad and smartphone's all WiFi traffic through it, and other devices route remain the same non-openvpn route. So far I'm able to connect openvpn client on E3000 to an openvpn server, tunnel all my devices' all traffic through that openvpn connection. What's left is howto selectively route by source IP (at least in my guessing) to the tunnel while don't bother others. I had learned some 'iptables' and 'route' in past few days however without much luck, so here comes my question.   I am having issues setting up a migration from Apptix to Office 365 of 41 users in my company. I've found a couple guides on the Microsoft website about how to do it (Thank you Google) but I keep coming up with problems. I am trying to set up a mailbox migration through IMAP to get all of my users' emails over to Office 365 before we make the transition over from Apptix. One of the forums suggested using IMAP, since a CSV file can be uploaded to Office 365 and it will check for incoming mail for each user every 24 hours. My problem is that when I do this, I just get errors.   Upgrading from Vista home premium to win 7 hoe premium from DVD ex Digital river on gigabyte VM900m; core 2 duo 2.13GHz 2GB ram; Western digital 250GB HD. Got as far as "Expanding Windows files ...100% the error message "Computer encountered unexpected error... To install windows press OK to restart computer and reinstall windows" The computer then reboots, loads Windows 7 (new logo) a essage that says "setup is starting services" then the error message comes back. I can get into BIOS to change boot priority but the computer just ignores this and goes through the same sequence. At the point of "to boot from CD/DVD press any key" my keyboard is deactivated and i cannot make a choice and the sae sequence occurs. I cannot break the sequence - I have push every key, disconnected every external device including HDMI screen, but nothing stops the loop. Any ideas? Auswoolf

• Wyse Z Class Thin Client (WES7) Image Deployment

  We are currently working on deploying a few Wyse WES7 thin clients (Z Class, exact model escapes me at the moment). We have WDM setup, and are able to see new clients show up, interact with them, pull/push images. Our current workflow is something like this: Unpack & boot up the device Disable Windows Firewall, reboot Device shows up in WDM Publish our custom image to the new device. My question is whether or not there is a way I can bypass step 2, and put my image on the client right out of the box. Either using PXE or USB boot disk, such that I can boot into some sort of menu and tell the client to pull a particular image from the WDM server. With HP thin clients, we have a rule setup which detects new clients on the network and pushes our custom image to them first time they show up. I haven't been able to figure it out with Wyse.

  In our company we have successfully deployed git and we are currently using a simple trunk/release/hotfixes branching model. However, this has it's problems, I have some key issues of confusion in the community which would be awesome to have answered here. Maybe my hopes for an Alexander stroke are too great, quite possibly I'll decompose this question into more manageable issues, but here's my first shot. Workflows / branching models - below are the three main descriptions of this I have seen, but they are partially contradicting each other or don't go far enough to sort out the subsequent issues we've run into (as described below). Thus our team so far defaults to not so great solutions. Are you doing something better? gitworkflows(7) Manual Page (nvie) A successful Git branching model (reinh) A Git Workflow for Agile Teams Merging vs rebasing (tangled vs sequential history) - the bids on this are as confusing as it gets. Should one pull --rebase or wait with merging back to the mainline until your task is finished? Personally I lean towards merging since this preserves a visual illustration of on which base a task was started and finished, and I even prefer merge --no-ff for this purpose. It has other drawbacks however. Also many haven't realized the useful property of merging - that it isn't commutative (merging a topic branch into master does not mean merging master into the topic branch). I am looking for a natural workflow - sometimes mistakes happen because our procedures don't capture a specific situation with simple rules. For example a fix needed for earlier releases should of course be based sufficiently downstream to be possible to merge upstream into all branches necessary (is the usage of these terms clear enough?). However it happens that a fix makes it into the master before the developer realizes it should have been placed further downstream, and if that is already pushed (even worse, merged or something based on it) then the option remaining is cherry-picking, with it's associated perils... What simple rules like such do you use? Also in this is included the awkwardness of one topic branch necessarily excluding other topic branches (assuming they are branched from a common baseline). Developers don't want to finish a feature to start another one feeling like the code they just wrote is not there anymore How to avoid creating merge conflicts (due to cherry-pick)? What seems like a sure way to create a merge conflict is to cherry-pick between branches, they can never be merged again? Would applying the same commit in revert (how to do this?) in either branch possibly solve this situation? This is one reason I do not dare to push for a largely merge-based workflow. How to decompose into topical branches? - We realize that it would be awesome to assemble a finished integration from topic branches, but often work by our developers is not clearly defined (sometimes as simple as "poking around") and if some code has already gone into a "misc" topic, it can not be taken out of there again, according to the question above? How do you work with defining/approving/graduating/releasing your topic branches? Proper procedures like code review and graduating would of course be lovely, but we simply cannot keep things untangled enough to manage this - any suggestions? integration branches, illustration please? • Using tshark to generate traffic logs every X seconds

  I'm trying to use tshark to maintain a running history of all the packets that are going through an interface, for say 30 seconds. I want it to be human readable. This is a linux machine, and without mucking too much into the netstack source (which I can do if push comes to shove), I was wondering if I can use tshark to this. tshark has a -b duration:10 -b files:2 which I can use to generate a rotating set of 2 files, but I don't know which format it is printing the file in or how to read it.

• SCCM 2007 managing hosts in non trusted forest

  I have an implementation of SCCM 2007 in forest "A" that manages hosts in that Windows 2008 forest. There is another forest/domain, "B", which I have no trust with that I need to manage hosts in as well. I don't need to push out clients from the SCCM console, I am going to install them manually. I just need the hosts in domain "B" to connect back to the forest/domain "A" for management purposes. To date, I have not added any AD objects to domain "B" for hosts to query for site, SLP or management point info. I am installing the hosts with the command line: ccmsetup.exe /mp:SCCM_Server /site:mysite SCCM_Server = FQDN of my sccm server (which is resolvable by the client) There are no ACL's between the two servers. From the logs, I can see the install complete and the client tries to query the local AD for the site info for "mysite" but it can't find it and it stops and never connects. Can anyone give me some direction as to how this should be setup?

  I want to be able to push f/w logging traffic to a server at a remote site. This server is accepting syslog traffic on port 514. In the ASA I've configured it to use this server as a syslog server. The Cisco f/w's inside interface address is 10.0.0.1 and I want to route over the link to an address of 192.168.1.1. The vpn is up and working between sites, and local clients at each site can access resources etc. How would I go about setting up the route from the f/w to this remote server only?

• Word2007 - Preventing mid-item line breaks in a list in a table

  It's not programming, but it's the paperwork you have to fill out ot get things to program. When you have a list with an item that's two lines long, and text above pushes it down such that a page break should fall between the two lines, Word pushes the item down so that both lines are on the following page - this is called Widow/Orphan Control and is an option on the Paragraph menu. When the list is inside of a table cell, however, this feature doesn't seem to work - which is what I'm looking to work around. Word doesn't push the item down automatically, so it breaks across two pages, as seen here: Solutions that have been tried: Playing with the options on the Paragraph tab: doesn't seem to do anything Changing the margins or text: this is a template and will need to always work Any ideas?
