• [C#][Win32 API] PostMessage Help?

  I've looked at sites and MSDN documentation but I still don't understand the last parameter of PostMessage(). On forums in which people ask how to use PostMessage, people reply with one of two implementations: PostMessage(WindowHandle, WM_KEYDOWN, KeyCode, MapVirtualKey(KeyCode, 0) << 16); PostMessage(WindowHandle, WM_KEYDOWN, KeyCode, 0); What's the difference? Why can the last parameter be left as 0 in some instances, but has to be 'shifted' and all that in other instances? Just a quick question. Don't need essay replies (although they would be much appreciated). Any insight is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

• Best reverse proxy for IIS 6?

  I want to set up a reverse proxy from one of our intranet IIS sites to point to another tomcat server. Eg, i want the user to browse to 'http://our-iis-server/friendly-url' and for it to reverse proxy to 'http://our-tomcat-server/ugly-url'. What would be the best solution for this? I've narrowed it down to three options: http://www.managedfusion.com/products/url-rewriter/documentation.aspx http://www.isapirewrite.com/ http://www.codeplex.com/IIRF Also, can these tools rewrite the links in the html? Eg, if the tomcat server's html has something like 'a href = http://our-tomcat-server/ugly-url/product/widget' i would need it to change to 'a href = http://our-iis-server/friendly-url/product/widget' Thanks in advance. • py2app prescripts

  The py2app documentation mentions prescripts, being run by __boot__.py prior to the main python script. I couldn't find a way to easily specify any prescript on the setup.py file or build process. I did however manage to 'hack' __boot__.py manually and add another _run(prescript) command before my main _run(main_script) and it seemed to work fine. It would however be much better using the standard py2app build process. What I'm essentially trying to do is monkey-patch my sites-packages.zip file prior to the main script being launched. The prescript essentially checks for updates on the server, and if there are any, downloads them, and then overwrites the site-packages.zip file. Much quicker than having to re-install the application from scratch. Any ideas?

  I'm running a crontab that executes a rake task. I'm getting the following error (with MAILTO from crontab): rake aborted! no such file to load -- bundler /Users/Mendel/Sites/misnooit/Rakefile:4 (See full trace by running task with --trace) I'm using rvm with: ruby: ruby 1.9.1p378 rails: Rails 3.0.0.beta $GEM_HOME: /Users/Mendel/.rvm/gems/ruby-1.9.1-p378 bundler: bundler (0.9.11) The error is pretty self explanatory but I'm not able to fix it.. • Apps not showing in Django admin site

  I have a Django project with about 10 apps in it. But the admin interface only shows Auth and Site models which are part of Django distribution. Yes, the admin interface is up and working but none of my self-written apps shows there. • Are Cross Domain Flash Shared Objects (LSO aka Flash Cookie) possible

  Hi, I found several solutions for creating Flash LSOs from JavaScript (for example: http://www.nuff-respec.com/technology/cross-browser-cookies-with-flash ) If Page (www.hostA.com/index.html) and the .swf file are from the same site, everything works fine. No I'm trying to load the page form www.hostA.com/index.html, which includes www.hostB.com/flashcookie.swf (different sites). But then I cannot read or store the LSO. I have tried several configurations (crossdomain.xml, Security.allowDomain("...") ), but nothing works. Is this kind of cross domain access to a LSO possible? Thanks -stephan

  Hi I have two tables. There are users informations from two sites: p_users p_users2 There are 3726 users in first and 13717 in second. Some users in p_users2 are in p_users. I want merge this two tables to the one big table - but rows with same usernames can't be doubled. How can I do this? I tried something like this: DELETE FROM p_users2 WHERE user_id IN ( select p.user_id from p_users p join p_users2 p2 on p.username=p2.username ) After that I should receive a table with unique usernames, which I want to export and import to the first one. But when I execute my query I got error: SQL Error (1093): You can't specify target table 'p_users2' for update in FROM clause. (MYSQL)

• Global "ajax call" notification with asp.net mvc/jquery

  I need to be notified any time a largeish asp.net mvc web application makes an ajax call to the server. We're using both jquery, and the built-in Ajax.* methods to do the remote calls, and I would like a global way of knowing when we make a call without having to manually inject some sort of "IsMakingCall" method to every request. The root problem we're trying to solve is session timeout. If the user leaves a page up and goes to lunch (for example), they get errors when they get back because the ajax call is returning the login page instead of the expected json or partial html result. My idea was to have a js timer which would be reset any time we make an ajax call. That way, if the timer runs out (ie. their session has now timed out) I can just auto-log them out. This is how sites like bank of america and mint.com work. Thanks!

Given N developers running a mixture of Ubuntu and Mac OS X, all with the same version of Eclipse, how to make sure that: Each developer, on top of his favourite "Available Software Sites" selection, has a common set of installation sources? Each developer has an easy (automated?) way of installing a base set of plug-ins? Each developer can just as easily install a custom plugin developed in-house and distributed over the local network? No automatically deployed plugins conflict with any others a developer might already be using? I would post this to serverfault.com if it wasn't that I am more interested in a "scripting" answer than a traditional "system management" solution... ;-)

  I have a web service that I am trying to test in Visual Web Developer Express Edition (Service Pack 1). I am working with two different websites on two different branches from an SVN repository but largely the same code. The web services are the same code but there are some code differences for other features. My problem is that when going to the web service specification page in debug mode (i.e. MyWebService.asmx) there should be text fields for inputting parameters for that web service. On one of these web sites the fields are available. On another they are not available. I don't understand why/how there should be any differences between the two setups.

Now there are some sites that inherits permissions from their parent site and some site has their own permission module. Now a user from owner group of root site browses site collection but there are few site which doesn't allow user to view the content of it. Now what I want is general recommendation on when creating a new site in SharePoint what is best possible approach to set site permission. In what case we can inherits permissions from parent site..? In what case we can we us unique permission for a site..? If a site has unique permission set then is it possible to creat a group at root level which has access to all site collection irrespective of site permission model? • Can't change data type on MS Access 2007

  Hi All, I have a huge database (800MB) which consists of a field called 'Date Last Modified' at the moment this field is entered as a text data type but need to change it to a Date/Time field to carry out some queries. I have another exact same database but with only 35MB of data inside it and when I change the data type it works fine, but when I try to change data type on big database it gives me an error: Micorosoft Office Access can't change the data type. There isn't enough disk space or memory After doing some research some sites mentioned of changing the registry file (MaxLocksPerFile) tried that as well, but no luck :-( Can anyone help please?

  Hi I'm used to editing sites locally on my MAMP to test out changes before going live. In this case though the site has a SSL certificate and wants to use it when I go to admin. So I can't go to admin. The error message says: (Error code: ssl_error_rx_record_too_long) It's a Joomla site I'm trying to log into locally ie: http://localhost:8888/site/administrator/ I've tried https as well, but same thing. Also same thing is Safari. I just need to turn off ssl, it must be a file somewhere in the site I downloaded.

  When I try to change the ASP.NET version to v4 on IIS 6, I receive the following warning: Changing the Framework version requires a restart of the W3SVC service. Alternatively, you can change the Framework version without restarting the W3SVC service by running: aspnet_regiis.exe -norestart -s IIS-Viirtual-Path Do you want to continue (this will change the Framework version and restart the W3SVC service)? How do I work out IIS-Virtual-Path? I have tried the obvious paths i.e.: aspnet_regiis.exe -norestart -s "/WebSites/Extranet/AppName" Where WebSites is the name of the folder in IIS, Extranet the name of the root app and AppName the name of the Virtual Directory application I am trying to change. Edit: How do I work out the virtual path for the Auth virtual directory in following IIS6 setup: I have tried: aspnet_regiis.exe -norestart -s "/Web Sites/Extranet/Auth" aspnet_regiis.exe -norestart -s "Auth" I get: Installation stopped because the specified path (WhateverIPutIn) is invalid.

• Correct install of Android SDK, ADT with Eclipse 3.6.1

  Following the posted instructions for Eclipse 3.6.1 Classic and Android SDK, ADT (where OS 2.3 is the most current) misses a few steps. Everything seems to work up until the point of loading the ADT in Eclipse. Prior to doing this add the following dependency sites to the list and enable them so that the ADT installer will pickup all the dependencies (thanks MissKaho for the concise list).
