• ubuntu 10.04 logs itself out overnight

  Every night when I leave work, I lock the screen via ubuntu's "power" button in the top right hand panel. When I come to work in the morning, I'm greeted with the log-in screen. This doesn't happen every night, but most. I'm running ubuntu 10.04 on a Dell inspiron. I've included some HW specs, and also dmesg output. Please let me know what other logs may be useful. thanks! • How to setup a DotNetNuke Development Environment with Source Control?

  My team is developing a new DotNetNuke web application and would like to know what is recommended to setup a development environment with source control and automated builds? We would like to keep the DNN source code separate from our custom modules and extensions source code. The DotNetNuke Compiled Module template for Visual Studio wants us to store the source code in the DesktopModules directory of the DNN source code and output to the DNN source code bin directory. Is this the recommended structure? I would rather keep the files in different locations, but then it becomes more difficult to run and debug locally as it would require an install of the module for each change. Also, how should an automated build deploy any changes? How have others set this up? Is there a recommended best practice?

  I am currently working on a project that has components in perl, .NET, C/C++, and Java. These components are inter-related, but are not tied to the same release schedule. Due to the very different build/testing environment requirements, lumping them all in to the same /bin /src /lib /etc /tests hierarchy is a bit unwieldy. What are some good organizational hierarchies to use in source control when dealing with a project of this nature? I am currently leaning towards each language having its own branch: repo/project1/perl/main/... repo/project1/.NET/main/... repo/project1/Java/main/... How would your recommended hierarchy change if they DID have a tied release schedule?

  Hello All Python Pro's , I'm using mamp server for testing out all my web pages. I'm new to python. I'm able to run a script in python interpreter that will normally print a hello world. print "Hello World!" So i used the same line in a file with name test.py . So how should I run this on web. As am new to python, i tried some normal things, placing test.py in /htdocs/cgi-bin/ and trying to open it. But it says forbidden page. Anyone please help me making this work. Thanks

  I am having problems trying to compile my App to my iPhone. I upgraded to the new SDK and have 4.0 on my phone... which I did not do that.   Isn't that nicely recursive? I've got a portable command prompt on my external drive, and it has a nice .bat file to configure some initial settings, but I'd like more! Here's what I know how to set from .bat: Colors = (color XY) where x and y are hex digits for the predefined colors Prompt = (prompt $p$g) sets the prompt to "C:\etc\etc " the default prompt Title = (title "text") sets the window title to "text" Screen Size = (mode con: cols=XX lines=YY) sets the columns and lines size of the window Path = (SET PATH=%~d0\bin;%PATH%) sets up local path to my tools and appends the computer's path So that's all great. But there are a few settings I can't seem to set from the bat. Like, how would I set these up wihtout using the Properties dialogue: Buffer = not screen size, but the buffer Options like quick edit mode and autocomplete Popup colors Font.   I want to write a script that counts the types of objects there are in the ZODB, when they were created, how many users have joined since a given point in time,etc. I am wondering how to accomplish this. So, was wondering if there is a way to pass a script to bin/instance to be executed. However, when I run on web server, the output is ++++++ ++++++ So $VAR is missing when passing in the web interface/browser. I know maybe the problem is $VAR is very long string.   Hello, I have a ASP.NET MVC page. I Configured a IIS Website and added the additonal H:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v2.0.50727\aspnet_isapi.dll. my Directory Structure is like that / ../App_data/ ../bin/ ../Content/ ../Properties/ ../Scripts/ ../Views/ ../Default.aspx ../Global.asax ../Web.config My page is configured to port 9090. If i try to access the page i get the "default" Page. But if i try to access any other page than the //myServer:9090 like //myServer:9090/home (which is the default method in my HomeController) i get a "page not found" error page. For me it looks like he does'nt execute the assambly. In the Debbuging Server all runs nice. What could be the Problem? P.S: If i forgort something pls ask for! thanks!

  I have a Windows XP machine that has Apache installed via a VisualSVNServer installation. I am . trying to get a simple python cgi script to run in my browser e.g. http://build.procepts.com.au:8080/hg/cgi-bin/test.cgi. However despite trying all the recommended approaches the browser only ever displays the plain text from the cgi script. Amongst many other attempted solutions I have followed the instructions contained here. My ultimate aim is to be able to use the Apache web server to serve repositories from a new Mercurial installation. Seeing as Apache is already installed from VisualSVNServer I thought I might as well make use of it. Is there some other trick to get this working?

• Tiny MCE ImageManager Plugin, "cant create instance of plugin"

  We just bought MCImageManager and went right on to creating our own plugin. I followed http://wiki.moxiecode.com/index.php/MCI … ing_plugin from start to end but got stuck on the last step. After configuring the build.bat file (that comes along the package) it gives me no errors, i checked all paths and it should work but there just is no plugin.dll file anywhere to be found. (The bat file is also linked to the .net 1.4322, that should be changed by you at tinyMCE in my opinion) To circumvent that problem I started a new project and compiled the plugin.dll through Visual Studio. Then placed the dll in the c:..\project\plugins\plugin\bin\ folder (at the same place as the _TemplatePlugin.dll file but with the plugins name) All i get from running the application is "Could not create instance of plugin class: Moxiecode.Manager.Plugins.Plugin" What is it I'm missing? All the other plugins ain't giving this error and they follow the same structure as my custom plugin. Thanks in advance //Micael

• LNK1106 with big binary resource

  I have a rather huge .dat-file (896MB) included as a BIN resource in my project. Now I get a LNK1106 link error ("fatal error LNK1106: invalid file or disk full: cannot seek to 0x382A3920".) I use Visual Studio 2005 under Windows XP, and have tried on a 4GB RAM machine with high Virtual Memory settings and lots of disk space. I have tried a number of different optimization flags, but to no avail. Does anyone have a clue? EDIT: I have narrowed it down to a specific size of the compiled resource. If the .res file is 544078588 bytes (about 518.9MB) or larger, the error occurs. If it is smaller it works just fine. Still no solution, though...

  Is there a way to setup a global list of Ignores for a SVN Repository or for the SVN Client on the PC? The only reason I'm using tools like Tortoise/Ankh/VisualSVN is because I want to only check in the files I need without all the bin/obj/Resharper stuff. I'm spoiled by .gitignore and .hgignore which I just copy to a repository and then use "git commit -a" without having to care about checking in junk. I know I can manually set it, but that's tedious to do and I think it had to be applied to every new folder that gets created as well. Using SVN under Windows if that matters

• My python auto-login script is broken.

  A long time ago, I wrote a little python script to automatically log me on to the wireless network at my office.   Hi at all guys, hope someone is using Mono & monodevelop... i'm getting the following error when i try to compile an ASP.NET apps ported from vs.net 2008 Error VBNC99999: Unexpected error: The classes in the module cannot be loaded. (VBNC99999) This is the only error i get. I'm using 4 external assembly / dll AjaxControlToolkit.dll FusionCharts.dll MySql.Data.dll PostBackRitalin.dll I've added the dll in bin directory, then i've referenced it. I'm using Mono, because on my "old" computer (acer aspire t2300 buyed in 2007) run with linux & with monodevelop very well. With windows, visual studio is reeeeeeally slow.. so i decide to pass to mono.. Can somenone know something about that error ? Thank you very much. Regards !

When I run the ps command from the command-line, the $? is correctly set, but within the script it is always 1. • "Disabled use of AcceptEx() WinSock2 API" error on Windows 7 using Tomcat

  When starting Tomcat 6 on Windows 7 Enterprise with JRE 6 using C:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Tomcat 6.0\bin\tomcat6.exe the application does not open and my event viewer has the message: "Disabled use of AcceptEx() WinSock2 API." The same installer of Tomcat worked on Windows Vista before I upgraded my operating system. Can anyone please suggest a way to fix this? The only site I can find mentioning this is http://www.apachelounge.com/viewtopic.php?p=4418 which suggests using this config setting "Win32DisableAcceptEx" - but it's for Apache, not Tomcat, and I have no idea where in what config file it might need to go in Tomcat.

• Connection problems - Celery/Django

  Hi folks, long night... can't get my second Celery/RabbitMQ setup run to work. step 1 sudo rabbitmq-server runs: ok! step 2 python manage.py celeryd -l info error: [2010-12-28 03:38:24,690: ERROR/MainProcess] CarrotListener: Connection Error: Socket closed. Trying again in 28 seconds... I have definitely: added rabbitmq user and vhost updated the Django setings.py Edit: I think it might have to with installing from a .deb instead of apt-get. After uninstalling the deb and installing the apt-get version I get this: invoke-rc.d: initscript rabbitmq-server, action "start" failed. dpkg: error processing rabbitmq-server (--configure): subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1 Errors were encountered while processing: rabbitmq-server E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1) Any ideas on how I could debug this? :|

  I have a .net visual studio solution with a number of projects (class libraries and a web application). I did some refractoring which moved files between projects, created new projects, deleted ones not being used and renamed some existing projects. The solution builds without an issue but when I run the web application, the following exception occurs: "Could not load file or assembly 'XXX.YYY' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified." The project called XXX.YYY which was deleted in the refractoring outputed a dll called XXX.YYY. But this isnt used anywhere in the application. I deleted the web applications obj directory and bin folder and rebuild but it still occurs. Anyone have any ideas when this might be occurring, any tips??
