  This is one of the minor CSS problems that plagues me constantly. How do folks around StackOverflow vertically align checkboxes and their labels consistently cross-browser? Whenever I align them right in Safari (usually using vertical-align: baseline on the input), they're completely off in Firefox and IE. Fix it in Firefox, and Safari and IE are inevitably messed up. I waste time on this every time I code a form. Here's the standard code that I work with: <form> <div> <label><input type="checkbox" /> Label text</label> </div> </form> I usually use Eric Meyer's reset, so form elements are relatively clean of overrides.   Hi, I'm having trouble doing the following: I have a big PDF file that I converted to postscript (for commercial printing). The resulting file is too big to be processed by the printer (machine). I've been trying to find a way to either: Convert from the original (many pages) PDF file to many Postscript file (one postcript file per PDF page in original PDF file(. Convert from PDF to PS (or even EPS). - I managed to do this Then split the PS file into a collection of smaller files. I've tried using Ghostscript, but it is all gibberish to me. Thanks. PS. If you have a good GS tutorial (for dummies?), please share the link.

  I am developing a plugin host. The plugins should have as little trust as they need, however I want to have the possibility for a plugin to read and write files. Can the AppDomain where the assembly will be loaded be restricted to have access to only one directory for reading and writing? Other options and ways to go about this are also appreciated like for example easy ways to stream file data from the host to the plugin (reading) and from the plugin to the host (writing).   I have a table called excel that has 3 columns, name, id, and full_name. The name part is the only one I have and I need to fill id and full_name. The other table that contains the data is called tim_pismena and has 2 columns that I need, id and pismeno_name (the actual names are not important, but i'm writing them just for clarity). In pseudooracle code :) the select that gets me the values from the second table would be done something like this: SELECT tp.id, tp.pismeno_name FROM tim_pismena tp WHERE upper(tp.naziv_pismena) LIKE IN upper('%(SELECT ime as FROM excel)%') and when used with an insert, the end result should be something like name id full_name Happy Joe 55 Very fun place Happy Joe, isn't it?

  While coding JavaScript sometimes you store the reference of object this in a local variable for different purposes (to set proper scope, to help code obfuscators, etc.). There are coders who prefer aliasing this to that to make it obvious its intention. Other guys use self since it's pointing to the object itself. I even saw source codes where me held the reference and it still makes sense. Certainly there are other ones. Which one should I prefer? Is there a convention on which to use or is it only the matter of taste.

  Okay I have two tables VOUCHERT with the following fields ACTIVATIONCODE SERIALNUMBER VOUCHERDATADBID UNAVAILABLEAT UNAVAILABLEOPERATORDBID AVAILABLEAT AVAILABLEOPERATORDBID ACTIVATIONCODENEW EXT1 EXT2 EXT3 DENOMINATION -- I added this column into the table. and the second table is VOUCHERDATAT with the following fields VOUCHERDATADBID BATCHID VALUE CURRENCY VOUCHERGROUP EXPIRYDATE AGENT EXT1 EXT2 EXT3 What I want to do is copy the corresponding VALUE from VOUCHERDATAT and put it into DENOMINATION of VOUCHERT. The linking between the two is VOUCHERDATADBID. How do I go about it? It is not a 1:1 mapping. What I mean is there may be 1000 SERIALNUMBERS with a same VOUCHERDATADBID. And that VOUCHERDATADBID has only entry in VOUCHERDATAT, hence one value. Therefore, all serial numbers belonging to a certain VOUCHERDATADBID will have the same value. Will JOINS work? What type of JOIN should I use? Or is UPDATE table the way to go? Thanks for the help !!

  hello there , i know that there is some rules and standards in css handling but i mean which one is closer to a human thinking. for example : when i give a DIV tag a height property of 100px i just want it to be 100px! but in Firefox i should work on min-height or max-width and so on ! there is many like this examlpe , i think IE read css more humanestic against Firefox. i have several experiences in this case , your final nice design in IE can be a mess in Firefox thats because of the way they handle css. Firefox act as a robot but IE act as a human-half robot ! its just my idea. i will be glad to hear and learn from you proffesionals and other friends here. thank you.

• Project Reference added to one of the projects in the same solution appears broken in another solution

  I have couple of solutions. In the first solution I have many projects. One of the project named 'A' has a project reference of another project 'B' of the same solution. In second solution, the project 'A' is added but not the project 'B'. Both the solutions build successfully. However, in second solution, reference of B added in the project A, appears broken. Why? Now, in first solution, instead of adding Project reference of B into A, i simply add a 'file reference' of B's DLL (which is copied at the common output directory created for all the projects) into A. Now the reference appears broken in both the solution even though both the solutions are built successfully. May I know what should I do when I have such a scenario?

E.g.: I have a an array with a list of variable names and I want to get the information from the object by using them. Obviously this is wrong: string[] variable_names = new string[] {"name", "surname"}; myObject.variable_names[0] = 1; myObject.variable_names[1] = 1; In other languages (not C#) I use: myObject[variable_names[0]] = 1; I know the example looks stupid but it was just a way of explaining it. I then wanted to exclude only that single function and found that it was not as easy as I thought it would be. I know there are great pattern matching possibilities for arguments when tracing. • Where can I get a one-off server of Active Directory for Developing against?

  We're not a windows shop, but one of our products is going to need to optionally integrate with Active Directory - things like SSO etc. I'd really rather not go through the rigamarole of setting up a whole server just to develop against it and then leave it hanging around for testing purposes. Is there a simple cloud-based service where I can purchase a server running active directory for a month or two just for development purposes? I looked into Amazon EC2 but it looks like you may still need to go through a significant set up (I may be wrong on this).

I now I can compile it as C code with such command ocamlc -output-obj -o foo.c foo.ml (I have a situation where I am not alowed to use OCaml compiler to bild my programm for my arcetecture, I can use only specialy modified gcc. so I will compile that programm with sometyhing like gcc -L/usr/lib/ocaml foo.c -lcamlrun -lm -lncurses and Itll run on my archetecture.) I want to know in general case can a program written in C be faster than one written in OCaml and translated to C?

  I have several client databases that use my windows application. I want to send this data for online web site. The client databases and server database structure is different because we need to add client ID column to some tables in server data base. I use this way to sync databases; use another application and use C# bulk copy with transaction to sync databases. My server database sql server is too busy and parallel task cannot be run. I work on this solution: I use triggers after update, delete, insert to save changes in one table and create sql query to send a web service to sync data. But I must send all data first! Huge data set (bigger than 16mg) I think can't use replication because the structure and primary keys are different.
