I have numerous database operations going on and I find that I am reproducing the connection, command, transaction and occassianlly data set. I am aware of the Java Related Question, however, the solutions pertain to Java.   • ASP.NET MVC project won't start under IIS 5.1 on Windows XP SP3

    I've a ASP.NET MVC 2 project that runs fine under Windows 7 and will start on Windows XP if I use the Visual Studio Development Server, however, starting under IIS generates an error: Unable to start debugging on the web server With the message The specified procedure could not be found No errors in the system event viewer. If I start without debugging I get an "HTTP 500 Internal Server Error" The reason I run it under IIS is the project also includes some WCF wsHttp web services that use certificates, so the VS Development Server is not adequate for hosting those. I have already seen the links on SO that talk about adding the wildcard mapping. I've already done that, just as I've done on Windows Server 2003 where I successfully host ASP.NET MVC RC2 for quite a while.

How to convert it to XML? I can Do it with Dataset Object and ".GetXML()" method. but how to implement it with LINQtoSQL or LINQtoXML??? or if there is another simpler way to perform that? what is your suggestion? the best way?     Hello SO, I'm trying to do user impersonation for a web application we have. The user selects the user they'd like to emulate/impersonate and then clicks the button which fires this: protected void uxImpersonate_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { ... FormsAuthentication.SetAuthCookie(uxUserToEmulate.SelectedValue, false); Response.Redirect("Impersonation.aspx"); //reload page manually } We have a dev - test - production server environment and on two servers this works just fine, but on another one, in all browsers, it kicks me to the login screen. What's going on and how can I fix it? We're on ASP.NET 2.0, and I'm using http://stackoverflow.com/questions/549016/user-impersonation-with-asp-net-forms-authentication as a guide. UPDATE: It appears that the user actually is impersonated successfully but is loosing their Role as admin (only Admin Role's can access this impersonation page).

    What's the best disassembler tool for the .NET reflector? By best I mean, saving a .NET assembly in a disassembled state in most readable, most likely to compile with fewer changes. The current one I use doesn't show simplified enumeration but shows the full IEnumerable implementations with MoveNext, etc with member names like: this.<4_state CS$<9_CachedAnonymousMethodDelegate3 Btw I am not trying to steal code, just trying out certain things on an already existing assembly instead of writing a similar thing from scratch. In the end, it's what I will learn from this that will stay, not the modified assembly.

  • Create popup "toaster" notifications in Windows with .NET

    I am using .NET and am creating a desktop app/service that will display notifications in the corner of my Desktop when certain events are triggered. I don't want to use a regular Message Box b/c that would be too intrusive. I want notifications to slide into view and then fade out after a few seconds. I am thinking of something that will act very much like the Outlook alerts that one gets when a new message arrives. The question is: Should I use WPF for this? I've never done anything with WPF but will happily try it if that's best means to the end. Is there a way to accomplish this with regular .NET libraries?

Sales" End If Basically what is happening is, if a certain radio button is selected and the user didn't click the checkbox the default regions are included and they are hardcoded because the query runs much faster. if the user did click the checkbox then the textbox where they type the specific regions shows up and it will run the query that includes the dbo.B605SaleAsOfAdvancedMaster.SDESCR in (" & TextBox1.Text & ") If you can somehow do this using parameters and not with the textbox1.text in the query it will run much faster for me thanks for your help

    I have a fairly substantial library of web services built in .NET that I use as a data model for our company web sites. In most .NET applications I use the Global ASAX file for profiling, logging, and creating bug reports for all exceptions thrown by the application. Global ASAX isn't available for web services so I'm curious as to what other strategies people have come up with to work around this limitation.     hi, I just started working with ASP.Net MVC 2. I created a new ASP.Net MVC application and created one vehicle controler with a database table connected with LINQ. Then created forms authentication mechanism for the application and tried to use the uri instead of cookies it was working smoothly but when i submit the form by creating a "Create" view from the controler using the utility it just dont work. The autherization got failed and asking to enter the user name and password again.I had created the authorization mechanism by adding Authorise attribute to the Controller so as to get authorized for all the actions. namespace MVCNEW.Controllers { [Authorize] public class VehicleController : Controller { But if i use the cookies instead of uri it works fine.   • Testing ASP.NET security in Firefox

    I'm not sure whether this question belongs on StackOverflow or SuperUser, but here goes nothing... I'm trying to test out some basic security problems on my personal ASP.NET website to see exactly how the custom validators, etc. work when tampering with the data. I've been looking at the Firefox extension TamperData which seems to do the trick, but it doesn't feel very professional at all. The issues I'm having with TamperData is that the textbox for the POST data is way too small to hold the ASP.NET view-state, so I have to copy that data into Emacs and then back again to be productive at all. I also don't like that there doesn't seem to be an option to only tamper with data which is from/to localhost. Any ideas on better extensions for the task or better methods to test it?

  • .NET Regular expressions on bytes instead of chars

    Hi, I'm trying to do some parsing that will be easier using regular expressions. The input is an array (or enumeration) of bytes. I don't want to convert the bytes to chars for the following reasons: Computation efficiency Memory consumption efficiency Some non-printable bytes might be complex to convert to chars. Not all the bytes are printable. So I can't use Regex. The only solution I know, is using Boost.Regex (which works on bytes - C chars), but this is a C++ library that wrapping using C++/CLI will take considerable work. How can I use regular expressions on bytes in .NET directly, without working with .NET strings and chars? Thank you.

  • Call asp.net web service from php

    Hi im calling an aps.net web service from a php service. The service searches both databases with a search parameter. Im not sure how to pass a search parameter to the asp.net service.
