• Sharepoint publishing cache- counter missing on WFE(Object Caching)

  I want to tune object caching in my sharepoint environment. The way to do is check sharepoint publishing cache counter through perfmon on your farm. I have one application server and 2 WFE but when I am trying to create counter for my WFE its showing Sharepoint publishing cache but I am not able to add any instance of it but when I select my application server I can see all the instances. But If I want to check publishing hit ratio i need to run this on WFE also ...correct me if I m wrong? How to resolve this issue? Also, how to check the hit ratio as our site is not go-live so we don't get enuf users to hit the site to check this thing. Does it means that I can tune it up only my site go live and real load will get on it. Thanks, Amit

• What is wrong with my Basic Authentication in FireFox?

  Hi folks, i'm trying to goto the following url :- http://user1:pass1@localhost:1234/api/users?format=xml nothing to complex. Notice how i've got the username/password in the url? this, i believe, is for basic authentication. When i do that, the Request Headers are MISSING the 'Authorize' header. Er... that's not right :( I have anonymous authentication only setup on the site. I don't want to have anon off and basic turned on .. because not all of the site requires basic.. only a few action methods. So .. why is this not working? Is this something to do with the fact my code is not sending a 401 challenge or some crap? For What It's Worth, my site is ASP.NET MVC1 running on IIS7 (and the same thing happens when i run it on cassini).

• Rails - Active Record :conditions overrides :select

  I have a fairly large model and I want to retrieve only a select set of fields for each record in order to keep the JSON string I am building small. Using :select with find works great but my key goal is to use conditional logic with an associated model. Is the only way to do this really with a lamda in a named scope? I'm dreading that perhaps unnecessarily but I'd like to understand if there is a way to make the :select work with a condition. This works: @sites = Site.find :all, :select => 'id,foo,bar' When I try this: @sites = Site.find :all, :select => 'id,foo,bar', :include => [:relatedmodel], :conditions => ["relatedmodel.type in (?)", params[:filters]] The condition works but each record includes all of the Site attributes which makes my JSON string way way too large. • Creating a custom widget using django for use on external sites

  I have a new site that I am putting together and part of it has statistics for the site's users. I would like to create a widget that others can use on another website by invoking javascript that reads data from my server and shows that statistics for a given user, but I am having a hard time finding specific tutorials that covers this in django. I have seen the link at Alex Maradon's site [0], but it looks to me like that is passing html back to the widget and I am having a hard time figuring out how to do this using something like xml. • Python script shows different pythonpath

  Attempting to run runsnake gives ImportError: No module named wx Opening an ipython or python session seems to work fine: >>> import wx >>> import sys >>> print [p for p in sys.path if 'wx' in p] ['/usr/local/lib/wxPython-2.9.4.0/lib/python2.7/site-packages', '/usr/local/lib/wxPython-2.9.4.0/lib/python2.7/site-packages/wx-2.9.4-osx_cocoa', '/usr/local/lib/wxPython-2.9.4.0/lib/python2.7/site-packages/wx-2.9.1-osx_cocoa/tools'] as does putting that code in a script and calling python script.py. But putting that code at the beginning of runsnake.py prints an empty list (printing the whole sys.path prints a path quite different from my $PYTHONPATH). Why would it be different, and how to I get it to recognize wxPython?

  I'm not sure why this isn't working, so I must not be understanding things correctly. I'm putting a working live site onto my localhost for dev work. so my site can be seen at the url: example.com or at: localhost/example.com OK. I Have a page at example.com/video/pageone.php On that page, I'm linking to a header by navigating to: <?php include '/home/myserver/public_html/includes/website/website-header.php'; ?> For some reason, This will not work (on the live site): <?php include 'http://www.example.com/includes/website/website-header.php'; ?> Can anyone tell me why 1) The above http address will not work, and 2) how can I make this work in localhost?   Hey All Let me explain you the scenario upto now.. Been a newbie to Joomla I managed to build my own website using Joomla CMS in my computers localhost. Then after the completion of the site, I wanted to upload my Local Joomla Site to a GoDaddy Server / Hosting Account.. Thanks to Google I found the below mentioned tutorial, http://zensamarketing.com/2009/07/how-to-use-joomlapack-and-kickstart-to-upload-your-local-joomla-site-to-a-godaddy-server-hosting-account/ So far I completed up to the 7th step, But I'm stuck at the step 08. I'm using Filezilla as my FTP client, Using that I uploaded the files as per the guided on step 07 and when I try to access www.mysitename.com/kickstart.php, it is giving me the below error, Forbidden You don't have permission to access /kickstart.php on this server. Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request. How can I set permission... Please explain in a non technical way..   Hey Few Questions 1.Is it legal to have an IFrame on a website which inside has an external website? 2.In an IFrame is it possible to only show a section of the src that isnt the top left of the site (for instance if there was a chart in the middle of a website, could u have just the chart in your Iframe, or atleast start it centred there) 3.Any way to stop my IFrame from auto redirecting me to the external site for 3: ie <iframe src="http://fifa.com"></iframe> Just sends me to fifa instead of actually showing that site in a frame.

• Posting within PHP and receiving only cookie

  Hello I have a question. It might be sound ridiculous, but let me explain what I want to accomplish. Right now I try to embed open source forum to by site and I want to leave forum and my site databases split. When my site users are logging in I want them also automatically be logged in to the forum system. For that I want to login within my PHP code after receiving username and password in post, but I don't know how I can get only cookies in response. I have found out that I can use curl_init(), curl_exec(), curl_close() functionality, but response from curl_exec returns whole response(page content, cookies, headers). Is there a way to receive only cookies? P.S. - If my design is totally wrong please give an advise how I can embed this functionality! I would be very thankful!

How would you do this? I can't depend on the date/time as this is a login report that is constantly getting updated - all I want is to ensure that the last line ends with that email address. And I can't figure out how to do it using Selenium expressions, DOM, or XPath.

• How can I embed the result of a rails view in another website?

  I would like to allow users to call my ruby on rails app as a service which returns a 'div' with html content in it, and embed that div into their app (which will not be a rails application). For example, assume someone has their own php website that has a header/footer template that gets rendered, and a content area of the page that they need to fill based on some html I generate in my rails app. I would like to allow them, from php, to call to my website, get the 'div' I generate, and embed that as html in their php page. What I'm trying to do is host a service on my site that returns some html content, but actually show that content as part of another site, so that the end user only sees the other site and never really knows about mine. Is this possible?

• Why I am not that user after I load cookies?

  I want to grab some site data, but it must be a login account. So I register it and login, I found some API about this site that can be used to grab data. I use this Chrome plugin "cookie.txt export" export cookies.txt, I copy all content it export and use following cmd like wget -x --load-cookies cookies.txt http://www.example.com/api/name=xxxx but it doesn't work. It download the page that need I login. So I think this site has some other verification strategy, how can I pass it? Whether I must input in browser manually?

  I’m building a site that needs users created with different roles and permissions to access different areas of the site. I using mvc 2 but I can’t find much clear guidance on using the Membership tool with mvc to create accounts and roles etc. I tried the web configuration tool which works but I would like to administrate the site remotely. I used the aspnet_regsql tool so I can access the SqlMembershipProvider Schema in my Database. I also need to add more information to a user like profile info and a picture, would I add these to the membership tables or create separate tables for this?   What are you using as a persistance framework when programming in Delphi? If the application is growing it soon became really complicated to handle the model in SQL ? Bold is a persistance framework for Delphi win32 that really deserve more attention. I use it daily and using OCL instead of SQL to get data from the database saves a lot of time and debugging. When the model is changed Bold translate this to an SQL script and change the database. EDIT: For those that are interested in Bold for Delphi I have spend this evening on create a site on Google about it. I'm not a guru in html so the design is maybe not so exciting. • Joomla article not showing in the frontend but its visible in administrative part.

  I have a very big article to be put into our joomla site. At first I was getting "Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 8388608 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 285487 bytes) in..." . But then I increased the memory_limit in php.ini . And I was able to create the article. Now I can view the article by logging into backend. But the article is not at all visible in the front end. If I click on the menu item pointing to that article, all I can see is a blank page with nothing in it. All other articles in the site are visible properly. Any idea? ps: I have enabled the error reporting to maximum, also ran the site in debugging mode. But saw nothing unusual.

• How can you implement a jQuery feature without having IE prompt users with an Active X warning?

  Essentially, I want to implement a jQuery feature on a site that I'm building, but I don't want Internet Explorer users to have to click "Allow Blocked Content". The feature works fine with Safari, Chrome, and Firefox. It's only IE that prompts the users with the Active X warning. I'm using the following jQuery cycle plugin: http://malsup.com/jquery/cycle/ I thought that I might simply have to live with the fact that users have to click on the Active X message when they use the site, but Zendesk (www.zendesk.com) is using the same implementation and that site doesn't prompt me with the warning. Any ideas as to what I'm doing wrong would be appreciated.

• How to force delete cookies even if one window is still open?

  Apparently in IE8, there is this option 'Preserve Favorites website data', even if I uncheck it the browser will still keep the cookies until the last window is closed. Problem scenario. say I logged in to somesite.com, then without out logging out, I closed the window, but there was still another IE8 window open. In this case IE8 will keep the cookies of this site. So If I opened the site again (same window or another) the site won't ask for login info. The client wants the web application to be logged off as soon as the user closes the browser. Can I force delete the cookies IE8 is saving? or maybe I can stop the user from closing the window until I simulate a click on logout button?

• Facebook Like button - comment box with breif description and image

  On my website when the user selects the facebook like button they have the option to enter comments. This popup window to enter comments only contains the users avatar and place to enter comments. How can i include my pic and a brief description of the site directly below the comment??? At first I thought it was from the HTML title attribute or meta property="og:title" ... but populating these have no affect I have another site that contains both pic and a desc below the comment but the pic seems to be grabed at random -but always the same- from the site and the short desc I thought from the -title- attribute but its not - I changed the -title- and it still shows the same desc, its like its cached??? Any ideas how to control or populate a brief description and image within the comment section of a like button???

• Lined Pattern in Flash Background

  So i have a flash site i am doing in as2, even if the solution can only be done in as3, I still want it. I am trying to accomplish lines through the background image like on this site http://larc-paris.com/#/fr/club I tried just putting the patten on the image itself, but when i scale my site, its all distorted and the lines does not look as crisp anymore, like theirs do, so I am assuming they did the lines themself in flash... any clue? I have the image just need the lines, dont need a slideshow.

• Google Translate set default language

  Maybe this has an obvious solution that I'm overlooking, but I can't seem to find the correct parameter to put in to make this happen. Using the Google Translate widget on a site, I need to set the default language that the user sees when entering the site, even though the site is english. function googleTranslateElementInit() { new google.translate.TranslateElement({ pageLanguage: 'en' }, 'google_translate_element'); } I've tried adding: defaultLanguage: 'fr' and tried: targetLanguage: 'fr' I did find some nice jQuery solutions, but didn't want to bypass this if it was an easy fix. I've come to an agreement with another client to use some of the sites scripting to build a site for them. But, now the original client wants their site too. I have made a deal to licence the reused parts of the site (some jQuery scripts and a dynamic flash gallery) rather than me signing over full copyright. However, I haven't got a clue how to do this. • How to access a website's url programmatically from within the page

  For work, I am working on a site that has a feature that lets users make custom instances of the site depending on who they want to show it to. So if they want to show their potential employer a little bit about themselves, they can send them a custom url, that has a uid on the end of it that tells the database what to show and what not to when the site is loaded up. Now, I need to be able to take the value that is on the end of the url, this unique uid that corresponds with their preferences in the db, accessable on run time. Meaning that when someone types in this custom url, I need to be able to show the name of the person whose portfolio is being viewed BEFORE password authentication takes place... If I could get the URL, I suppose I could parse through it to find the necessary UID...but how do I get the url? Maybe I am just missing something here, but if anyone has any thoughts or ideas, it would be appreciated!! Thanks

• Export DB Tables via phpMyAdmin In Non-Alphabetical Order

  I have a MySQL database from a Joomla MultiSite installation where it has a set of tables with different prefixes for each Joomla site. When I export the db via phpMyAdmin it creates a SQL file where the tables are created and populated in alphabetical order. The problem is that the tables for the slave sites have dependencies on the tables for the master site, but alphabetically their prefixes are ahead of the master site. So the export works fine but when I try importing I get error after error and have to manually move sections around in the SQL file to make sure that the dependent tables are created/populated first. So, is it possible to export a db via phpMyAdmin with the tables in a specific order?
