• Validate an Xml file against a DTD with a proxy. C# 2.0

  I have looked at many examples for validating an XML file against a DTD, but have not found one that allows me to use a proxy. So if the data changes, I will refresh my application settings. Do you have any suggestions how this can be implemented?

I cannot beleive that the word wrapping information (how many lines are there, where are the line breaks) cannot be extracted from the JTextArea. I´m facing a problem when trying to close a Windows Explorer (not Internet Explorer) window through another application, using the "Process.CloseMainWindow()" method; because it doesn´t close the Explorer window, it tries to close the full Windows (Operative System), by the way, Windows XP. • Invalid character in a Base-64 string when Concatenating and Url encoding a string

  I’m trying to write some encryption code that is passed through a Url. For the sake of the issue I’ve excluded the actual encryption of the data and just shown the code causing the problem. I take a salt value, convert it to a byte array and then convert that to a base64 string. This string I concatenate to another base64 string (which was previously a byte array). These two base64 strings are then Url encoded. • nul terminating a int array

  Hello, gcc 4.4.4 c89 I was just experimenting with a int array. And something just came to my mind. Can I nul terminate it. For example, I am using a 0 to nul terminate. However, 0 could well be a valid value in this array. The code below will terminate after the 5. Even though I mean 0 to be a valid number. However, I could specify the size of the array. But in this case, I don't want to this as I am just interested in this particular problem. • How to get or own your own IP address?

  The website we running let people register their own URL and redirect to our website to their user account. Lets it is something similar to Blogspot.com where users can have their own URL. The problem is that in order to do this we need to have static IP address for the DNS redirection to work. We can easily get static IP addresses from most hosting companies, but if we change our hosting company it means we will have to force all our users to change their DNS setting to our new IP address. This if very problematic. Is there a way of owning our own IP address that we can take it with us to wherever hosting company we decide to go with? Or there there other easier solutions out there?

• Efficiency of while(true) ServerSocket Listen

  I am wondering if a typical while(true) ServerSocket listen loop takes an entire core to wait and accept a client connection (Even when implementing runnable and using Thread .start()) I am implementing a type of distributed computing cluster and each computer needs every core it has for computation. A Master node needs to communicate with these computers (invoking static methods that modify the algorithm's functioning). The reason I need to use sockets is due to the cross platform / cross language capabilities. In some cases, PHP will be invoking these java static methods. I used a java profiler (YourKit) and I can see my running ServerSocket listen thread and it never sleeps and it's always running. Is there a better approach to do what I want? Or, will the performance hit be negligible? Please, feel free to offer any suggestion if you can think of a better way (I've tried RMI, but it isn't supported cross-language. Thanks everyone

If these components are not effectively shared by project leads and understood by stakeholders, project outcomes can be jeopardized and budgets may incur unnecessary risk. As reported by PMI’s 2013 Pulse of the Profession, an organization’s ability to meet project timelines, budgets and especially goals significantly impacts its ability to survive—and even thrive. The Pulse study revealed that the most crucial success factor in project management is effective communication to all stakeholders—a critical core competency for public agencies. PMI’s 2013 Pulse of the Profession report revealed that US$135 million is at risk for every US$1 billion spent on a project. Further research on the importance of effective project team communication uncovers that a startling 56 percent (US$75 million of that US$135 million) is at risk due to ineffective communication. Simply stated: public agencies cannot execute strategic initiatives unless they can effectively communicate their strategic alignment and business benefits. Executives and project managers around the world agree that poor communication between project team members contributes to project failure. A Forbes Insights 2010 Strategic Initiatives Study “Adapting Corporate Strategy to the Changing Economy,” found that nine out of ten CEOs believe that communication is critical to the success of their strategic initiatives, and nearly half of respondents cite communication as an integral and active component of their strategic planning and execution process. Project managers see it similarly from their side as well. According to PMI’s Pulse research, 55 percent of project managers agree that effective communication to all stakeholders is the most critical success factor in project management. As we all know, not all projects succeed. On average, two in five projects do not meet their original goals and business intent, and one-half of those unsuccessful projects are related to ineffective communication. Results reveal that while all aspects of project communication can be challenging to public agencies, the biggest problem areas are: A gap in understanding the business benefits. Challenges surrounding the language used to deliver project-related information, which is often unclear and peppered with project management jargon. Public agencies -- federal, state, and local -- have difficulty communicating with the appropriate levels with clarity and detail. • Switch Hosts With Gmail Account Attached

  Hi, I am transferring a client from their old host to my new one. Their domain-based gmail/apps account was connected to their old host, so when I changed the domain's name servers to the new host, naturally the gmail account stopped working. So I added the 7 MX records tho the new host's DNS and verified I own the domain on the new host's FTP but the email still isn't working. Is there something I'm missing? I added the MX records to the new host about two hours ago, is it possible it just takes longer than that? Also, outgoing mail seems to work. Members of the domain can't receive email though, just sends back an error. Thanks, Wade
