  • 403 error after adding javascript to masterpage for sharepoint.

    I am attempting to add highslide-with-html.js from http://highslide.com/ to my masterpage. I am receiving a 403 forbidden error when I use the provided masterpage. I have placed it in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\web server extensions\12\TEMPLATE\LAYOUTS\1033. Test javascript files such as pirate.js which consists solely of alert("Arr!"); have loaded from the same directory. I have provided the code for the masterpage.     For a listView, when you register an OnItemClickListener, the method you specify looks like this: public abstract void onItemClick (AdapterView parent, View view, int position, long id) The id corresponds to the row that the user clicked on. My question is simply why is it a long and not an int? When would you use it as a long? I've been casting it to an int when I use it, so it makes me think that maybe I'm using it wrong.

    I've created a TabBar application and in one of the views I'm using a popover. The view is registered for UIPopoverControllerDelegate but that doesn't do it. The popover is a completely different view controller and xib. When the user selects a row in the popover, control goes to the popovercontroller.m method - (void)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView didSelectRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath Any help would be appreciated.   • Trying to use linq to search based on table with hierarchical data.

    Duplicate many times over (and also these) I have a table called Types that has the following columns. ID Level Name ParentID (The ID of the parent row) and a table called ParentObject which has the following columns. ID TypeID there are 4 different level (possibly to be expanded to more). So if I had ID: 1 Level: 0 Name: Level0 ParentID: null ID: 2 Level: 1 Name: Level1 ParentID: 1 ID: 3 Level: 2 Name: Level2 ParentID: 2 ID: 4 Level: 3 Name: Level3 ParentID: 3 ID: 5 Level: 4 Name: Level4 ParentID: 4 In the ParentObject table I store the tree by just storing the lowest level ID. So if the ID i have is 4, I know that the tree actually goes Level0 - Level1 - Level2 - Level3 Basically, I need to be able to search all objects for a certain Type, or Type Level 2 for example in a linq statement. Say that the TypeID stored in the ParentObject table is 4, so Level3. But I actually want to search for all ParentObjects where the Level 2 type has an ID of 3. What would be the best way to do this since the id stored could be a level1 or a level2, etc.? Preferably in one linq statement if possible.

  • How to make a GRANT persist for a table that's being dropped and re-created?

    I'm on a fairly new project where we're still modifying the design of our Oracle 11g database tables. As such, we drop and re-create our tables fairly often to make sure that our table creation scripts work as expected whenever we make a change. Our database consists of 2 schemas. One schema has some tables with INSERT triggers which cause the data to sometimes be copied into tables in our second schema. This requires us to log into the database with an admin account such as sysdba and GRANT access to the first schema to the necessary tables on the second schema, e.g. GRANT ALL ON schema_two.SomeTable TO schema_one; Our problem is that every time we make a change to our database design and want to drop and re-create our database tables, the access we GRANT-ed to schema_one went away when the table was dropped. Thus, this creates another annoying step wherein we must log in with an admin account to re-GRANT the access every time one of these tables is dropped and re-created. This isn't a huge deal, but I'd love to eliminate as many steps as possible from our development and testing procedures. Is there any way to GRANT access to a table in such a way that the GRANT-ed permissions survive a table being dropped and then re-created? And if this isn't possible, then is there a better way to go about this?

I think I need to get rid of it. What's the initial migration command to generate a junction table in Rails? What's the best course of action, should I drop posts_categories and re-create it or just drop the primary key column? Does the junction table have a corresponding model? I have used scaffold to generate the junction table code, should I get rid of the extra code? Assuming all the above has been fixed and is working properly, how do I query all posts and display them along with their named categories in the view. For example: Post #1 - hello, categories: greet Post #2 - hola, categories: greet, international

Understandably, data is getting cut off randomly; and the reason for that is explained here. As a solution, the page suggests using a "second sql select" instead of a join. How can I convert my existing criteria query (which has joins using createAlias()) to use a nested select instead?

  • Last Grid Column Not Auto Resizing With Grid

    I'm having a problem with my TextBoxs not "Auto" resizing. I'm trying to create a form that behaves and looks like the Properties Editor in Visual Studio. What appears to be happening is that the third column is not expanding to fill all of the available remaining space in the grid. Image below is how my form looks on startup. The width of the textboxs is determined by the MinWidth setting on the third ColumnDefinition statement. Also, the Width is set to "*".   • How to store a list in a column of a database table.

    Howdy! So, per Mehrdad's answer to a related question, I get it that a "proper" database table column doesn't store a list. Rather, you should create another table that effectively holds the elements of said list and then link to it directly or through a junction table. However, the type of list I want to create will be composed of unique items (unlike the linked question's fruit example). Furthermore, the items in my list are explicitly sorted - which means that if I stored the elements in another table, I'd have to sort them every time I accessed them. Finally, the list is basically atomic in that any time I wish to access the list, I will want to access the entire list rather than just a piece of it - so it seems silly to have to issue a database query to gather together pieces of the list. AKX's solution (linked above) is to serialize the list and store it in a binary column. But this also seems inconvenient because it means that I have to worry about serialization and deserialization. Is there any better solution? If there is no better solution, then why? It seems that this problem should come up from time to time. ... just a little more info to let you know where I'm coming from. As soon as I had just begun understanding SQL and databases in general, I was turned on to LINQ to SQL, and so now I'm a little spoiled because I expect to deal with my programming object model without having to think about how the objects are queried or stored in the database. To me, it looks alright. I would like to have the results with duplicates removed similar to a select distinct on content id.   • Is READ UNCOMMITTED / NOLOCK safe in this situation?

    I know that snapshot isolation would fix this problem, but I'm wondering if NOLOCK is safe in this specific case so that I can avoid the overhead. I have a table that looks something like this: drop table Data create table Data ( Id BIGINT NOT NULL, Date BIGINT NOT NULL, Value BIGINT, constraint Cx primary key (Date, Id) ) create nonclustered index Ix on Data (Id, Date) There are no updates to the table, ever. Deletes can occur but they should never contend with the SELECT because they affect the other, older end of the table. Inserts are regular and page splits to the (Id, Date) index are extremely common. I have a deadlock situation between a standard INSERT and a SELECT that looks like this: select top 1 Date, Value from Data where Id = @p0 order by Date desc because the INSERT acquires a lock on Cx (Date, Id; Value) and then Ix (Id, Date), but the SELECT acquires a lock on Ix (Id, Date) and then Cx (Date, Id; Value). This is because the SELECT first seeks on Ix and then joins to a seek on Cx. Swapping the clustered and non-clustered index would break this cycle, but it is not an acceptable solution because it would introduce cycles with other (more complex) SELECTs. If I add NOLOCK to the SELECT, can it go wrong in this case? Can it return: More than one row, even though I asked for TOP 1? No rows, even though one exists and has been committed? Worst of all, a row that doesn't satisfy the WHERE clause? I've done a lot of reading about this online, but the only reproductions of over- or under-count anomalies I've seen (one, two) involve a scan. This involves only seeks. Jeff Atwood has a post about using NOLOCK that generated a good discussion. I was particularly interested in a comment by Rick Townsend: Secondly, if you read dirty data, the risk you run is of reading the entirely wrong row. For example, if your select reads an index to find your row, then the update changes the location of the rows (e.g.: due to a page split or an update to the clustered index), when your select goes to read the actual data row, it's either no longer there, or a different row altogether! Is this possible with inserts only, and no updates? If so, then I guess even my seeks on an insert-only table could be dangerous. Update: I'm trying to figure out how snapshot isolation works. It seems to be row-based, where transactions read the table (with no shared lock!), find the row they are interested in, and then see if they need to get an old version of the row from the version store in tempdb. But in my case, no row will have more than one version, so the version store seems rather pointless. And if the row was found with no shared lock, how is it different to just using NOLOCK?
