To do so it will require to re-brand the UI even though the underlying business logic wont need to change. I'd like to write the code in such a way that will allow other developers to only develop code that will only changes the UI.     What would a simple unit test look like to confirm that a certain controller exists if I am using Rhino Mocks, NUnit and ASP.NET MVC 2? I'm trying to wrap my head around the concept of TDD, but I can't see to figure out how a simple test like "Controller XYZ Exists" would look. In addition, what would the unit test look like to test an Action Result off a view?

    Hi all fellow programmer I'd like to have a separate js file for each MVC set I have in my application /Controllers/ -TestController.cs /Models/ /Views/ /Test/ -Index.aspx -script.js And I'd like to include the js in the Index.aspx by <script type="text/javascript" src="<%=UriHelper.GetBaseUrl()%>/Test/Js"></script> Or to put it easier, when I call http://localhost/Test/Js in the browser, it will show me the script.js file How to write the Action in the Controller? I know that this must be done with return File method, but I haven't successfully create the method :(

    Hello, I'm using a rich text editor in my asp.net mvc form (nicedit with a textarea) and when I submit the form on post, because it is not html encoded I get the following message: "A potentially dangerous Request.Form value was detected from the client" . How can I html encode the textarea on post ? I don't want to cancel the validation. Is there a way to use the html.encode helper on submit? Thank you.

    Default ASP.NET MVC project has one MapRoute like routes.MapRoute( "Default", "{controller}/", new { controller = "Home", action = "Index" } ); And urls like these are equivalent: www.mysite.com, w*ww.mysite.com/home*, www.mysite.com/home/index But if I trying to use a MapRoute like routes.MapRoute( "Sitemap", "{contoller}/{action}", new { controller = "Sitemap", action = "ShortMap" } ); and test url www.mysite.com/sitemap I recieve error 404 but I'm expecting that it's work like www.mysite.com/sitemap/shortmap How to write this MapRoute correctly?

    I was watching the HaHaa presentation on ASP.NET MVC from MIX and they mentioned using a Post Model where I guess they were saying you could use a model that was ONLY for posting. I have tried looking for examples for this. Am I not understanding what they are saying? Does anyone have an example of how this might work in a strongly typed view where the view model and post model are not of the same type?

    Hi all, I have a form that when submitted shows a busy animation and disables the submit button. Anyone know how to query Microsoft's Sys.Mvc.FormValidation to see if the form passed it's test so I can prevent the busy animation showing if the form hasn't actually been submitted? Or even some other work-around? It works fine, however when user is successfully logged, I would like to create an Operator object and make it possible to access this object on every controller and view. I was thinking about session to do this but when session expires this object is null but user that had been logged using MembershipProvider is still logged in. Is there any way I can store my Operator object in MembershipProvider and access it on every controller and view I need?

Only slight annoyance is that when developing new plugins, I don't get intellisense on classes inside the App_Code directory.     I'm trying to create a zipfile in a MVC method using the DotNetZip components. Here is my code: public FileResult DownloadImagefilesAsZip() { using (var memoryStream = new MemoryStream()) { using (var zip = new ZipFile()) { zip.AddDirectory(Server.MapPath("/Images/")); zip.Save(memoryStream); return File(memoryStream, "gzip", "images.zip"); } } } When I run it I get a "Cannot access a closed Stream" error, and I'm not sure why.
