• How can I create a sample SQLLite DB for my iPhone app?

  I'm diving in to iPhone development and I'm building an iPhone app that uses the Core Data framework and my first task will be to get the model setup with a few that will display it. Thus far, I have the model defined and my Managed Object Files created, but I don't have a database with any sample data. What's a quick way to create a DB that conforms to my schema? Are there any tools that can generate a sample DB using my schemas? Is there a good tool I can use to directly manipulate the data in DB for testing purposes? Thanks in advance for your help! • Finding data file location while using Microsoft Test Framework

  I have been using NUnit and now I am switching to the Microsoft Unit Test frame work. In my test project I have a folder called TestData and I kept all my test input data files there. I want to use that files for my unit testing. In my test code, I am using Application name space and assembly name space but I can not get to the data folder directly until unless I write a code to find and replace some string to point to the data folder. I am sure someone might have run into the same problem, is the solution to change the path through program or is there a API call which will let us get to executing assembly folders? Thanks,

• Sending data between activities within my app?

  Hi, I have a TabActivity, and the tabs point to sub activities. Is there a way I can send a 'message' to those child activities? I just want to pass a string across, not sure if this is possible. I have some data being fetched by the parent TabActivity, and the child tabs can't do anything useful until the parent is done fetching. When fetching is complete, I'd like to pass that data to the child activities so they can do something useful with it. Notmally I'd set the data to be passed in the Intent when first creating the activity, but in this case I can't do that. Thanks

Steps: Clear cache tables (Site Configuration Performance Clear Cached Data button) on localhost Export db and then import on live server Move files/folders to live server Edit settings.php to reflect live server config everything is working great until I make Clear Cached Data on Server. than my custom theme, custom front page, etc... all mess up :( What can be the problem? I used a subtheme for Zen, named mgf . then I had taken a back-up as mgf- somehow after I make Clear Cached Data, Drupal links to this mgf- which is old and doesnt have latest stylings. I just removed this folder from themes, and it linked to the right-latest mgf.

• Best way of obfuscating / encrypting form data on the iPhone

  I want to create an app which holds sensitive information (imagine it's bank account details, thought it's not). The user enters this information on a form the first time the app starts up. I want this info to be saved, and available, any time the user uses the app (without having to enter a password). However, if the iPhone has a password lock on it, and is stolen, I don't want the data to be easily accessible from the file system. What is the best way of encrypting or obfuscating the data? There is not a lot of data, just a dozen NSStrings from the UITextFields on the form. I'm aware there are encryption export restrictions on the iPhone for non-US developers (I am in UK), so I would prefer to avoid going jumping through any of Apple's app submission hoops to get it on the store.

  After loading my RSACryptoServiceProvider rsa object i would like to create a key for my AES object. Since i dont need to store the AES key (i only need it to decrypt on my prv side) i figure i dont need to store it and i can generate it with my public key. I thought doing rsa.Encrypt(byte[] with 4 hardcoded bytes); would generate the data i need. It turns out everytime i call this function even with the same data i get different results. So theres no way for me to recreate the AES key if its different everytime. How can i generate data with RSA in a way that i can recreate anytime i need?

Then its working fine, but the old data in the hbase cannot be accessed through the web-servies. While i use the shell command its working fine, i am getting the data. So i created the scenario on my local server machine, but its working fine. When I look at the dev console in chrome, it shows the URL that gets called, and it only passes action and dbname. • Can single-buffer blocking WSASend deliver partial data?

  I've pretty much always used send() with sockets and now I'm moving onto the WSA functions. With send(), I have a sendall() helper that ensured all data is delivered even if it didn't happen in one try and a partial send occurred on first call. So, instead of learning the hard way or over-complicating code when I don't have to, decided to ask you: Can a blocking WSASend() send partial data or does it send everything before it returns or fails? Or should I check the bytes sent vs. expected to send and keep at it until everything is delivered? ANSWER: Overlapped WSASend() does not send partial data but if it does, it means the connection has terminated. I've never encountered the case yet.

For further development, we would like the iPhone application to communicate directly with a java server, however the major issue is that java does not have the ability to emulate or use a c-struct. What would be the best way to send data (x,y coordinates) between the two devices? I can already establish a connection between the two devices. Is the widget responsible for translating its post data to a python value? The field itself?   I'm playing around with an idea, and I'm stuck at this one part. I want to read an external HTML page and then extract the data held within two <dd> tags. I've been using file_get_contents with good results, but I'm at a loss as to how to accomplish that last part. The two tags I want to extract the value from are always enclosed within a particular <div>, was wondering if that might help? In my mind it reads the entire html file into a string, then dumps all the data up until this one particular <div>, and dumps all the data after the closing </div>. Is that possible? I think this needs regex syntax which I've never used yet. So any tips, links, or examples would be great! I can provide more info as necessary.

The only slightly more tricky part to this is that in the C# code, the business logic can be run in both cases where there is, or isn't, data in teh table. • Extract rows for the first occurrence of a variable in a data frame

  I have a data frame with two variables, Date and Taxa and want to get the date for the first time each taxa occurs. There are 9 different dates and 40 different taxa in the data frame consisting of 172 rows, but my answer should only have 40 rows. Taxa is a factor and Date is a date. For example, my data frame (called 'species') is set up like this: Date Taxa 2013-07-12 A 2011-08-31 B 2012-09-06 C 2012-05-17 A 2013-07-12 C 2012-09-07 B and I would be looking for an answer like this: Date Taxa 2012-05-17 A 2011-08-31 B 2012-09-06 C I tried using: t.first <- species[unique(species$Taxa),] and it gave me the correct number of rows but there were Taxa repeated. If I just use unique(species$Taxa) it appears to give me the right answer, but then I don't know the date when it first occurred. Thanks for any help.

• volume group disappeared after xfs_check run

  EDIT** I have a volume group consisting of 5 RAID1 devices grouped together into a lvm and formatted with xfs. The 5th RAID device lost its RAID config (cat /proc/mdstat does not show anything). The two drives are still present (sdj and sdk), but they have no partitions. The LVM appeared to be happily using sdj up until recently. (doing a pvscan showed the first 4 RAID1 devices + /dev/sdj) I removed the LVM from the fstab, rebooted, then ran xfs_check on the LV. It ran for about half an hour, then stopped with an error. I tried rebooting again, and this time when it came up, the logical volume was no longer there. It is now looking for /dev/md5, which is gone (though it had been using /dev/sdj earlier). /dev/sdj was having read errors, but after replacing the SATA cable, those went away, so the drive appears to be fine for now. Can I modify the /etc/lvm/backup/dedvol, change the device to /dev/sdj and do a vgcfgrestore? I could try doing a pvcreate --uuid KZron2-pPTr-ZYeQ-PKXX-4Woq-6aNc-AG4rRJ /dev/sdj to make it recognize it, but I'm afraid that would erase the data on the drive UPDATE: just changing the pv to point to /dev/sdj did not work vgcfgrestore --file /etc/lvm/backup/dedvol dedvol Couldn't find device with uuid 'KZron2-pPTr-ZYeQ-PKXX-4Woq-6aNc-AG4rRJ'. I started by making a full copy of the data dir for testing various 'fixes'.
