  • How to setup email server in ubuntu 12.04LTS(debian 7 wheezy/sid) running on linode vps

    I am working on email server, since i tried several times to create email server on ubuntu12.04LTS with postfix + dovecote + postfixadmin + courier + clamav + spamassassin. But everytime i install these packages i face new problems, like mails send to localhost users and found in users maildir. But I can't determine how to configure/setup for send an email to external smtp like gmail, yahoo. The most worst thing i can't determine how to use sasl, because i am not using SSL so it is not worthy for my domain.   • validation controls are not validating on enabling on client side using java script, plz guide

    Hi, As per requirement I disabled all validation controls in page on PageLoad event in server side. On clicking submit button I want to activate them and validate the page and if the page is ok submit other wise not. I am able to enable all validaters but one thing that I am unable to understand is that they do not validate the page. I set alerts and check they are being enabled but they do not validate the page and let the page submit. I am sorry I couldn't get where I am wrong, may be there need to call some validation method as well or I should prevent default behavior of button. please guide me. Am I correct in my assumptions that you can't retrieve the private key from a CAC card, and am therefore stuck using a PKCS #11 Wrapper like PyKCS? Any tips or resources for going about this?

    I need to create a new mailing list in Exchange 2010 which would consist of about 50 external email addresses. I have the list of (external) email addresses in plain text format. I have previously solved this task by manually creating an external contact for each email address and then adding those external contacts to a distribution group. What would be the most efficient way to solve this task with Exchange 2010? Does EMS help here?

    I'm working with ASP.NET 3.5. I have a list box that users must add items to (I've written the code for this). My requirement is that at least one item must be added to the listbox or they cannot submit the form. I have several other validators on the page and they all write to a ValidationSummary control. I would like this listbox validation to write to the Validation Summary control as well. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

    Well i have a WCF service and has to methods one that gives a list of a object and one that gives a list of objects.. the object returned from method one is part of the list from method two. Im using wpf and binding a combo box to the two the results.. but the problem is that the combo box dosent know how to compare the objects as WCF did not generate this for me.. is there some way to fix this??

    First of all i am new to networking so i may say dumb thing in here. Considering a client-server application using sockets(.net with c# if that matters). The client sends some data, the server process it and sends back a string. The client sends some other data, the serve process it, queries the db and sends back several hundreds of items from the database The client sends some other type of data and the server notifies some other clients . My question is how to set the buffer size correctly for reading/writing operation. Should i do something like this: byte[] buff = new byte[client.ReceiveBufferSize] ? I am thinking of something like this: Client sends data to the server(and the server will follow the same pattern) byte[] bytesToSend=new byte[2048] //2048 to be standard for any command send by the client bytes 0..1 ->command type bytes 1..2047 ->command parameters byte[] bytesToReceive=new byte[8]/byte[64]/byte[8192] //switch(command type) But..what is happening when a client is notified by the server without sending data? What is the correct way to accomplish what i am trying to do? Thanks for reading.

    in a double-submitted cookie csrf prevention scheme, is it necessary for the server to provide the cookie? it seems i could have javascript on the clients page generate and set a cookie "anti_csrf", then double submit that (once as a cookie, done by the browser, and once in the body of the request). a foreign domain would not be able to read or write the "anti_csrf" cookie to include it in the body of a request. is this secure, or am i overlooking something?

Collection type in Web Service configuration is System.Array. What could be the reason for such upredictable behavior? Edited: I found the way how I can reproduce this behavior.     I have written a REST service that uses WSSE as an authentication method but i want to be able to use this rest service through a browser by creating a website around the service. I want the user to be able to log in on the website then when they view, for example the "view users" page an ajax request is made to test.com/users and back comes the list. The part i'm trying to get my head around is the logging in/out on the website and keeping the user logged in across pages. Since in a true REST implementation there's no state held on the server, i can't use $_SESSION and now i don't know where to start! What is the best way to go about this? Do i still need to store session information on the server then possibly use cURL to make the request? Thanks Jay

    ALL, I am looking for a simple example of non-blocking socket connection that will run on Windows. I tried to Google, but all samples are either for *nix (POSIX) or blocking sockets on Windows. Looking thru msdn I see that it is easy to make a socket non-blocking and issue a connect(), but then you need some preparation in order to put the socket back. So, all in all I need something on a non-blocking socket that will connect and then put it back to be blocking. The read and write operation should be performed on the blocking socket. The reason for a non-blocking socket is that I need a connection timeout and there is no other way than non-blocking socket. Or is there? Thank you.

    Is it possible to set a password textbox text to text that the user could not reproduce on their end? Like are there special characters that can only be set from the server? For instance, one way to do this would be to use javascript to prevent typing of *'s, and to set the textbox text to be all *'s. But that's hacky. The motivation is to be able to tell on the server if the user changed the password at all, but not to restrict them from having a password of all *'s, for instance.

  • Client-Side caching on IIS7 doesn't seem to work

    I have set content caching on a specific folder by following the local web.config method. I don't think it works, and I would like to fix this. I activate the cache using the IIS / HTTP Headers / Common headers feature. I set them to 1 day of expiration. I opened a page with Google Chrome in private navigation, and then open the Network tab in the console. The first time I load the page, everything loads from the site, obviously. If I refresh the page, I see 2 types of loading in the Network console: the files from Google and Facebook and such have a status of 200, and a size of (from cache). the files from the folder for which I set the caching have a status of 304 and their size is displayed. So, I guess the caching setting doesn't work? Or does the 304 response means that it's loaded from the cache? If they aren't, how can I make it work ? Thanks !

    I see some web sites use dynamic forms(I am not sure about how to call them!) to edit a group of data. For example: there is a group of data such as name, last name, city, country.etc. when user clicks on EDIT button, instead of doing postback, a form, consisisting of 2 textboxes + 2 comboboxes, dynamically opens to edit,And then when you click on Save button, edit form disappears, and all data updates.. Now, I know what happens over here is using Ajax for server calls and some javascript for dom manipulation.. I even found some jquery plugins for textbox editing.. However, I could not found anything for full implementation of form fields. Therefore I have implemented it on asp.net by jquery ajax calls and dom manipulation manually. here is my process: 1) when Edit button clicked: Make a ajax call to server to retrieve necessary formedit.aspx 2) it returns editable form fields with values assigned. 3) when Save button clicked: make ajax call to server to retrieve formupdateprocess.aspx page. it basically do the database updates and then return necessary DOM snipplet (...) to insert current page.. well it works but MY PROBLEM, is performance.. Result seems slower than samples I see in other sites.:(( IS there anything that I dont know? a better way to implement this??

  • How add logic to Views? Ruby on Rails

    Right now I'm building a project management app in rails, here is some background info: Right now i have 2 models, one is User and the other one is Client. Clients and Users have a one-to-one relationship (client - has_one and user - belongs_to which means that the foreign key it's in the users table) So what I'm trying to do it's once you add a client you can actually add credentials (add an user) to that client, in order to do so all the clients are being displayed with a link next to that client's name meaning that you can actually create credentials for that client. What i can't figure it out how to do is, that if you actually have credentials in the database (meaning that there's a record in the users table with your client id) then don't display that link. Here's what i thought that would work <% for client in @client%> <h5> <h4><%= client.id %></h4> <a href="/clients/<%= client.id %>"><%= client.name %></a> <% for user in @user %> <% if user.client_id = client.id %> <a href="/clients/<%= client.id %>/user/new">Credentials</a> <%end%> <% end %> </h5> <% end %> And here's the controller: def index @client = Client.find_all_by_admin(0) @user = User.find(:all) end but instead it just puts the link the amount of times per records in the user table. Any help?

  • Removing a Subversion folder from the client and server

    Hi. I have been using Subversion for a few days now and have a question... I have a folder deep in my subversion trunk that I want to remove and replace with another folder. I have read about this on here and tried: Export: I clicked on the folder I wanted to remove I then created a new backup folder elsewhere when prompted I then exported Delete: I next chose the delete option (in TortoiseSVN) on the folder I wanted to remove and clicked it. The folder I want to remove now has an "X" over it as does all of the subfolders and files. But, when I go to the Subversion repository on the remote server, I still see the folder I want to remove and all of its files. What do I have to do to get the clients to forget about this folder and the Subversion server to remove it permanently from its sub-folders? Thanks in advance...
