    Hi Using Codeigniter, how do I get and display, from my controller, all of the text a user entered into a text field on a view? I only get the first word, and nothing after the spaces.     I have a webpage with an input field where only digits are allowed. The input field has an onkeyup event that starts this validating function: function validate() { var uah_amount = document.getElementById("UAH").value; var allowed = /^\d+$/; document.getElementById("error").innerHTML = document.getElementById("UAH").value; if (!allowed.test(uah_amount)) { document.getElementById("error").style.backgroundColor = "red"; } } Everything works as I expect until I hit Backspace button to remove some characters. In this case function always behaves as if I entered letters. How to correct this?

  • C# how to sort a list without implementing IComparable manually?

    I have a fairly complex scenario and I need to ensure items I have in a list are sorted. Firstly the items in the list are based on a struct that contains a sub struct. For example: public struct topLevelItem { public custStruct subLevelItem; } public struct custStruct { public string DeliveryTime; } Now I have a list comprised of topLevelItems for example: var items = new List<topLevelItem>(); I need a way to sort on the DeliveryTime ASC. What also adds to the complexity is that the DeliveryTime field is a string. Since these structs are part of a reusable API, I can't modify that field to a DateTime, neither can I implement IComparable in the topLevelItem class. Any ideas how this can be done? Thank you

    Currently i have varchar field. The delimiter is "$P$P$". The delimiter will appear atleast once and atmost twice in the varchar data. Eg. Sample Heading$P$P$Sample description$P$P$Sample conclusion Sample Heading$P$P$Sample Description If the delimiter appears twice, i need to insert a text before the second occurance of the delimiter. Eg: Sample Heading$P$P$Sample DescriptionINSERT TEXT HERE$P$P$Sample Conclusion If the delimiter occurs only once, then i need to insert a text at the end of the field.     I was trying to install the mcrypt libraries following this tutorial (http://www.glenscott.co.uk/blog/2011/08/29/install-mcrypt-php-extension-on-mac-os-x-lion/), but something must have gone wrong and now when I load a php page on my localhost I see this: query="SELECT DISTINCT ".$field." as a,".$field2." as b FROM ".$tab." ".$where. " Group by ".$field." order By ".$orderBy; return $this->query; } And all the remaining code of the php page that should get loaded. I've retrieved the previous versions of the private/etc folder and usr/lib/php folder with time machine but it didn't help. And now if I execute sudo pachectl restart it gives me this error: sudo: no valid sudoers sources found, quitting (while before it worked. PS I'm on a mac with Mountain Lion

  • PHP strtotime() setting date to default

    I have a script which is reading values from an excel sheet and inserting them into an sql table. My problem is when the script reads in some of the date fields it is setting them to a default value : 1970-01-01 01:00:00 I have noticed that this is happening when it comes across a date where the 'day' is greater than 12 : 13/05/2012 18:52:33 (dd-mm-yyyy hh-mm-ss) I thought this may be due to the script thinking that this is the month field (i.e american format) and it sees it as an invalid value, so I set the default timezone to my own hoping it may resolve the problem but it made no difference. date_default_timezone_set('Europe/Dublin'); Here is an example of what my code is doing: Excel field value : 01/05/2012 18:32:45 Script: $start_time = $data->val($x,5); echo $start_time = date("Y-m-d H:i:s", strtotime($start_time)); Output: 2012-01-05 18:32:45 This is the exact format I am looking for (except for the fact that the day and month fields are switched around i.e american date format) but it doesnt work for the type of dates I mentioned above.

    Is it possible to exclude a column from a select * from table statement with SQL Server? I have a need for this and this is my only option other than parsing a raw SQL string to get out the required field names (I really don't want to do that). Just to be bold. When the query is made I do not have access to the list of fields needed from the table but I do know which field I do not need. This is part of a complex multi-part query. Surely there must be some way even if it's "hackish" such as using table variables or views

    I have a table of items (let's call it WIDGET) that each have their own eight-digit barcode numbers stored in a VARCHAR field (let's call it BARCODE; the table's primary key is in a separate integer field ID). My problem is that some personnel have omitted the leading zeros instead of entering the entire number while others have not. All new data is being entered with all eight digits present, but I would like to update all the existing records (several hundred in all) to eight digits for the sake of consistency. 1 → 00000001 234 → 00000234 5678 → 00005678 00009012 → 00009012 I know FrontBase supports all of SQL-92, but SQL-92 has no function specifically for left-padding strings. I already came up with a solution, but I am posting this question to see if anyone can think of a better way of doing this than I did.

In book1 excel file for example wherever you find country india the location field delhi has to be inserted right beside the country field and it has to be done for each and every country which i mentioned in book2 excel file and the output file has to be sorted according to the count at last.     I’m in the process of cleaning up a database table. Due to the way some of the data needed to be processed, now I need to go back and perform a “reverse lookup” on the data. For example, a field for one of the records is set to “car” and I need to set that record’s tranportmode field to “1” (for “car”). The lookup tables are already created. I just need to do the reverse lookup part. The cleansed tables will only have the numeric lookup value.

    I have created a custom control that inherit the TextBox, in that control i have override validating event and in validating event i have put validation that checks for the empty field. Now when i use that control on my winform and when i click on save button it immediate fires save event.. the validation event of custom control fires and it displays the error message but still it does not stop the save event to fire.... the save button CauseValidation Property is set to true.. i have also put (this.ValidateChildren()) i have also put CancelEventArgs ce.Cancel = true; in Custom Textbox control but neither working to stop the save event to fires.. i only want to fire Save event if Textbox is not empty. validating event fires, shows message for empty field and immediate fires save event.. now if you got an idea then if you have solution then please provide solution..

    I am using MySQL DB and I have created a PHP script for the following, now i need the idea for the below asked question.... please help... I have a table called audit trail whose structure is: id, trackid, table, operation, newvalue, oldvalue, field, changedone I have created triggers for insert/update/delete for every table of same DB, now whenever there is change in ny DB the triggers get activated and updates the Audit trail table accordingly.. I am tracking these changes so that i can use these changes to be done on production DB which is of same structure as of this test DB. Also when the admin finds that he does not need the changes recently he did for production DB then he can rollback it using the Old Data it stored in Ausittrail table of test db. Now here in audit trail table structure, there will be an insert for every single field change like-wise if a table has 4 fields then the change in that tavle will insert 4 rows in audit trail.. Coming to the question now, How can i find the latest change done from the Audit table so that I can insert these changes in Production DB.

    I have been looking for a while now but I can not find an easy solution for my problem. I would like to duplicate a record in a table, but of course, the unique primary key needs to be updated. I have this query: INSERT INTO invoices SELECT * FROM invoices AS iv WHERE iv.ID=XXXXX ON DUPLICATE KEY UPDATE ID = (SELECT MAX(ID)+1 FROM invoices) the problem is that this just changes the ID of the row instead of copying the row. Does anybody know how to fix this ? Thank you verrry much, Digits //edit: I would like to do this without typing all the field names because the field names can change over time.

    Is there some way I can stop Chrome from auto populating input boxes? I have a page with a Sign Up form and a Log In form. In Chrome, if a user has already signed up and they've come to this page to log in, the password input box on the sign up form is populated with their password. I would really like to force the sign up fields to never auto complete. I've tried setting autocomplete="false" but this makes no difference.

    I have a datagrid with 3 of 5 fields from a SQL table. The first databound was changed to an asp:hyperlink so the field can be clicked. What I want to do is, when the user clicks an object in the field, it sends the ID to another page. From there, it uses the request in order to display the required information which is found in the same SQL table. For example: User clicks on a cell in the first column, it brings them to a page with more information on that cell.

  • How do I create a timed ban on an account? (PHP/mysql)

    I want to create a function that allows me to ban an account for 10days. In the dbc, I have a field called "ban" and Boolean of 1=notban, 0=ban. I also have a field called "date_banned" which is just the timestamp of when the user got banned. My question is how do I create a time frame of 10days from the date the user was banned? ex: James was banned on "2010-05-03 20:43:48". So how can I go about adding 10days to the timestamp? And after 10days, it would set the "ban" equal to 1(which is not banned).

    I need to periodically update a local cache with new additions to some DB table. The table rows contain an auto-increment sequential number (SN) field. The cache keeps this number too, so basically I just need to fetch all rows with SN larger than the highest I already have. SELECT * FROM table where SN > <max_cached_SN> However, the majority of the attempts will bring no data (I just need to make sure that I have an absolutely up-to-date local copy). So I wander if this will be more efficient: count = SELECT count(*) from table; if (count > <cache_size>) // fetch new rows as above I suppose that selecting by an indexed numeric field is quite efficient, so I wander whether using count has benefit. On the other hand, this test/update will be done quite frequently and by many clients, so there is a motivation to optimize it.
