• movedown method not saving new position - cakephp tree

  Hi everyone, I am experiencing a problem that has popped up recently and is causing quite a bit of trouble for our system. The app we have relies on using the movedown method to organize content, but as of late it has stopped working and began to generate the following warning: Warning (2): array_values() [<a href='function.array-values'>function.array-values</a>]: The argument should be an array in [/usr/local/home/cake/cake_0_2_9/cake/libs/model/behaviors/tree.php, line 459] The line being referenced: list($node) = array_values($Model->find('first', array( 'conditions' => array($scope, $Model->escapeField() => $id), 'fields' => array($Model->primaryKey, $left, $right, $parent), 'recursive' => $recursive ))); The line calling the method: $this->movedown($id,abs((int)$position)); I have exhausted every idea I could come up with. Has anyone else crossed this issue before? Any help, or pointing in a direction would be much appreciated!

  Hallo, my SO friend, my question is: Specification: annotate the fields of FILE_2 to the corresponding position of FILE_1. A field is marked, and hence identified, by a delimiter pair. I did this job in python before I knew awk and sed, with a couple hundred lines of code. Now I want to see how powerful and efficient awk and sed can be. Show me some masterpiece of awk or sed, please! • Best way of invoking getter by reflection

  Hello, I need to get the value of a field with a specific annotation, So with reflection I am able to get this Field Object. The problem is that this field will be always private though I know in advance it will always have a getter method. I know that I can use setAccesible(true) and get its value (when there is no PermissionManager), though I prefer to invoke its getter method. I know that I could look for the method by looking for "get+fieldName" (though I know for example for boolean fields are sometimes named as "is+fieldName"). I wonder if there is a better way to invoke this getter (many frameworks use getters/setters to access the attributes so maybe they do in another way). Thanks

• What do I need to learn to make a website that can make a text file?

  I want to make a website, but all I know is basic HTML and CSS. On this website, I want the user to input in multiple text fields (sort of like they take a quiz) and then the program will make a text file based on the user input which the user can download. I want it to work backwards, too, so that the text file is the input. What do I need to learn to make a website to do this? Will javascript do the trick? I'm a beginning to intermediate programmer, mainly with java and I've learned some C# recently. I thought I could learn ASP.Net for this, but it turns out my hosting doesn't support it.

• ExtJS panel does not render properly unless I open Firebug - WTF?

  I have the following ExtJS Panel embedded in another Panel, which then resides in a TabPanel and the TabPanel is in a FormPanel. With that being said, these start/end date fields are initially displayed in very small cells -- the cells are so small that I see horizontal scroll bars. Now here's the weird part: if I open Firebug, everything pops into place. Does anyone know what's going on?   Hello, I was wondering if there is a way to make an array which would have multiple types of data fields. So far I was using aMyArray: array of array [0..1] of TPoint; But now, it is not enough for me. I need to add 3 more elements to the existing 2 "Point" elements making it an array like aMyArray: array of (TPoint,TPoint,real,real,real) So each element of aMyArray would have 5 'children', 2 of which are of a TPoint type and 3 of them are 'real' type. Is this possible to implement somehow?

  Recently I have worked with Core Data. When I want to set a default value for some fields, I came up with this problem: So I made a simple represent: We have 2 class Parent and Child, in which Child inherit from Parent. // Parent.h @interface Parent : NSObject @property (strong, nonatomic) NSString *lastName; // Child.h @interface Child : Parent In Parent class, I made a custom getter to set a default value when nothing is set: // Parent.h - (NSString *)lastName { if (_lastName) { return _lastName; } else { return @"Parent Default Name"; } } But I cannot make a custom default value for the field "name" which Child inherits from its Parent. // Child.h @implementation Child - (NSString *)lastname { if (super.lastName) { return super.lastName; } else { return @"Child Default Name"; } } Apparently, this method is never called. So my question here is: How can I set a custom getter for the field the Child class inherits from Parent without define an overriding property?

  I was wondering if anyone knows of some good community distributed custom DDL templates for Entity Framework 4.0. The default DDL to SQL10 Works well enough, but we're looking to do some customization to the naming convention that it just isn't offering us. I'm not really finding many samples out there of people doing this, so I was hoping someone might know of a resource I'm overlooking (perhaps I am searching for it wrong, or misunderstanding how the whole process works) Specifically we're wanting to change up how it writes out fields from relationships. For instance, the default template puts in.. tablename_propertyendpoint_propertyname. We're wanting to find tune this to our naming scheme a little more. And none of us can quite figure out where in the .tt files it is doing this exact behavior.

I have a WinForm (.net 2.0 in VS 2008) on my from I have a DataGrid One of the fields in that datagrid is a combo box that is bound to a separate table. this works, but I am unable to edit or add, I cannot add a value that is not on the list. I am looking to create a lookup box for lack of a better term. The form is for Parts Order Entry In the data Grid Data Source is PartsOrder_table, the Work order Field is a int in the PartsOrder_table, and the combo box is bound to the WorkOrder_table. The WorkOPRder_Table has WorkOrd_ID int and WrkOrd nvarchar(10) the Combo Box Data Source is WorkOrd_Table Display Member is WorkOrd Value Member is WorkOrder_ID This works great with the problem that I cannot add or select anything not in WorkOrder_table. • what's the right way to do polymorphism with protocol buffers?

  I'm trying to long-term serialize a bunch of objects related by a strong class hierarchy in java, and I'd like to use protocol buffers to do it due to their simplicity, performance, and ease of upgrade. However, they don't provide much support for polymorphism. Right now, the way I'm handling it is by having a "one message to rule them all" solution that has a required string uri field that allows me to instantiate the correct type via reflection, then a bunch of optional fields for all the other possible classes I could serialize, only one of which will be used (based on the value of the uri field). Is there a better way to handle polymorphism, or is this as good as I'm going to get?

  I have 3 fields in my table: start, end (dates) and length (number, might be blank). My Aim is to calculate an end date using start and length where end doesn't exist... I have: SELECT Switch((g.length<>0) And IsDate(g.end),DateAdd("m",g.length,g.start)) AS field FROM table g If there is no start, end or length, Access displays blank - this is fine. If there is no end, but start and length are ok, the calculated date is shown - again fine. BUT If there is no end, or length, but a start exists, access displays #Error I don't understand why, and can't fix it, please help!

  I am using code first approach in a ASP.NET MVC 3 application and all integer primary keys in models (public int Id { get; set; }) are by default configured as an identity with auto-incrementing. How to disable this and enable a way to manually enter the integer for the primary key? The actual situation is that the Id integers have a special meaning and I would therefore like to have them choosable at creation and later editable. It would be ideal if in case the integer is not given at creation time it is auto-incremented, else the specified value is used. But editable primary fields is my primary need. Is there any way to do this elegantly in ASP.NET MVC 3?

• Handling missing data

  Say I have a simple helpdesk application which logs calls made by users. I would typically have such fields in a table relating to the call e.g. CallID, Description, CustomerID etc. I Would also have a table of customers including CustomerID, Username, Password, FullName etc. Now when a user is deleted from the customers table then the inner join between the calls table and the users table to find out historically which user logged a call would produce no results. How do people usually deal with this? Have seperate customer and useraccount tables Just disable the accounts so the data is still available Record the customers name in the calls table as a seperate field. or any other methods / suggestions?

• Proper chart scaling in Reporting Services 2005

  I'm developing a simple bar-chart in Reporting Services 2005 with a stored procedure as data-source. The values in this graph can be both positive and negative, and can span a very big range, and hence I cannot specify any non-dynamic scale that will work for all scenarios. The problem I'm facing is that the automatic scaling pretty much sucks. I get no line to show where the zero-point is, and the y-scale labels are from top to bottom: 8818 -191181 -391181 etc etc... So my question is, what is the best approach to make the scale more adapted to human reading? Is there any guide out there? Does reporting services 2008 handle this better? Also, moving away from Reporting Services is not really an option. I realize how to put values and expression in the max, min, and the gridline interval fields, although its more of a question what expressions I should put there.

• Django admin panel doesn't work after modify default user model.

  I was trying to extend user profile. I founded a few solutions, but the most recommended was to create new user class containing foreign key to original django.contrib.auth.models.User class.   I'm studying ASP.NET MVC and I use LINQ to SQL for model. I have a table named "Note" with the fields "Title" and "Content". The "Content" field can contain thousand characters. What I want to do is to display the LIST of notes in a page. I use table with two columns, for "Title" and SUBSTRING of the "Content" (50 characters).   I have an admin where users from multiple properties can enter in monthly statistics for twitter/facebook followers. We do not have access to the real data/db so this is why a manual entry. The form looks like this: Type ( radio, select **one** only ): - Twitter - Facebook Followers/Fans ( textfield ): Property (dropdown): Hotel A, Hotel B Date Start: mm/dd/yyyy (textfield) Date End: mm/dd/yyyy (textfield) Question 1.1: Since I am only keeping track of month per month, the date start/end fields which I have already created might be too specific. Would it be a better idea just to have a start month/year and and month/year if that's the only thing I care about? Question 1.2: What schema could I use for month to month statistics if I were to change the date start and end textfields to start month/year and end month/year dropdowns?

• Need advice on multitab form in ASP.NET MVC

  Hi all, i need an advice on how to implement my form. I have a requirement: i need a form that spans through 5 tabs. Each tab has around 10 fields, some of them empty, some of them must contain data from db and be non editable. Each of these tabs must be a part of one form that is submitted to my controller. The question is: what is the best way to implement this? I was thinking about having partial views on each tab, each view would have its own model class. After form gets filled all data from all partials would go to action that will take care of all of it. Any advices? I am using ASP.NET MVC 1, Entity Framework 1, mvc extensions from Telerik and jQuery

  I am doing some reviison from the lecture slides and it says a constructor is executed in the following way; If the constructor starts with this, recursively execute the indicated constructor, then go to step 4. Invoke the explicitly or implicitly indicated superclass constructor (unless this class is java.lang.Object) Initialise the fields of the object in the order in which they were declared in this class Execute the rest of the body of this constructor. What i dont undertsand is that, a constructor can never "start" with this, because even if it forms no class heirarchy/relationship then super() is inserted by default. How would this fit in with the description above? Thanks
