First time the application show the map but wen i change the lat long and try to invalidate the mapview using diff lat long, map is not refreshed. Below is my code please have a look and suggest accordingly: //Source code protected void onCreate(Bundle icicle) { // TODO Auto-generated method stub super.onCreate(icicle); setContentView(R.layout.main); infoTextView = (TextView) findViewById(R.id.infoTextView); // Finding Current Location locationManager = (LocationManager) getSystemService(Context.LOCATION_SERVICE); locationManager.requestLocationUpdates(LocationManager.GPS_PROVIDER, 1l, 1l, this); Location location = locationManager.getLastKnownLocation("gps"); // mock location by hard-code if DDMS has not sent a fake loc to the emulator. if (location == null) { lat = 13.6972 * 1E6; lng = 100.5150 * 1E6; } else { // get real location if can retrieve the location sent by DDMS or GPS lat = location.getLatitude() * 1E6; lng = location.getLongitude() * 1E6; } setGPSLocation(lat, lng); } //This is the function which I am calling with different lat and long public void setGPSLocation(Double lati, Double longi) { lat = lati; lng = longi; System.out.println("Latitude :"+ lat +" Longitude :"+lng); // Prepare text being shown String tmpLoc = LOC_INFO_TEMPLATE; tmpLoc = tmpLoc.replace("lg", String.valueOf(lng)); tmpLoc = tmpLoc.replace("lt", String.valueOf(lat)); infoTextView.setText(tmpLoc); // Setup Zoom/Hide Buttons linearLayout = (LinearLayout) findViewById(R.id.zoomview); mapView = (MapView) findViewById(R.id.mapview); mapView.invalidate(); mapView.setBuiltInZoomControls(true); //new by me mapView.setSatellite(true); // Set satellite view mZoom = (ZoomControls) mapView.getZoomControls(); linearLayout.addView(mZoom); // Setup Marker mapOverlays = mapView.getOverlays(); drawable = this.getResources().getDrawable(R.drawable.marker); itemizedOverlay = new MyItemizedOverlay(drawable); GeoPoint point = new GeoPoint(lat.intValue(), lng.intValue()); OverlayItem overlayitem = new OverlayItem(point, "", ""); itemizedOverlay.addOverlay(overlayitem); mapOverlays.add(itemizedOverlay); // Centralize Current Location myMapController = mapView.getController(); myMapController.setZoom(DEFAULT_ZOOM_NUM); centerlizeCurrentLocation(point); } Any suggest is truly appreciable.

  • Adding Icons next to items in Navigation Drawer

    - by DunriteJW
    I have been trying to figure this out for quite some time right now. I've looked all over this site and many others, and can't find anything that works. I simply want icons next to each item in my navigation drawer. I am currently using the method that Google's navigation drawer sample app uses. in the MainActivity.java I have the following: mColorTitles = getResources().getStringArray(R.array.colors_array); mDrawerLayout = (DrawerLayout) findViewById(R.id.drawer_layout); mDrawerList = (ListView) findViewById(R.id.left_drawer); mColorIcons = getResources().getStringArray(R.array.color_icons); adapter = new ArrayAdapter<String>(this, R.layout.drawer_list_item, mColorTitles); // set a custom shadow that overlays the main content when the drawer opens mDrawerLayout.setDrawerShadow(R.drawable.drawer_shadow, GravityCompat.START); // set up the drawer's list view with items and click listener mDrawerList.setAdapter(adapter); mDrawerList.setOnItemClickListener(new DrawerItemClickListener()); my drawer_list_item.xml: <TextView xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:id="@android:id/text1" android:layout_width="match_parent" android:layout_height="match_parent" android:textAppearance="?android:attr/textAppearanceListItemSmall" android:gravity="center_vertical" android:paddingLeft="5dp" android:paddingRight="16dp" android:textColor="#000" android:background="?android:attr/activatedBackgroundIndicator" android:minHeight="?android:attr/listPreferredItemHeightSmall"/> it currently just makes the navigation drawer display the color titles from the array. I have the icons that I want in another array, and they follow the exact same order as I want them associated with the colors. I just have no idea how to even begin inserting the icons from that array into the navigation items if it helps, here's what my arrays look like in my strings.xml (not full code) <string-array name="colors_array">
Home

Cherry

Crimson
... <array name="color_icons">
@drawable/homeicon

@drawable/cherryicon

@drawable/crimsonicon
... I've tried putting a drawable in the drawer_list_item, which works, but (of course) it always puts the same one in there. I could not think of a way to change it according to the color. I am relatively new to android programming, so if I am missing something simple, I'm sorry. If you could help me out, I would greatly appreciate it, as this is basically the last thing I need to do before I publish my application to the Play Store. Thanks in advance!

  • Using android gesture on top of menu buttons

    - by chriacua
    What I want is to have an options menu where the user can choose to navigate the menu between: 1) touching a button and then pressing down on the trackball to select it, and 2) drawing predefined gestures from Gestures Builder As it stands now, I have created my buttons with OnClickListener and the gestures with GestureOverlayView. Then I select starting a new Activity depending on whether the using pressed a button or executed a gesture. However, when I attempt to draw a gesture, it is not picked up. Only pressing the buttons is recognized. The following is my code: public class Menu extends Activity implements OnClickListener, OnGesturePerformedListener { @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.main); //create TextToSpeech myTTS = new TextToSpeech(this, this); myTTS.setLanguage(Locale.US); //create Gestures mLibrary = GestureLibraries.fromRawResource(this, R.raw.gestures); if (!mLibrary.load()) { finish(); } // Set up click listeners for all the buttons. View playButton = findViewById(R.id.play_button); playButton.setOnClickListener(this); View instructionsButton = findViewById(R.id.instructions_button); instructionsButton.setOnClickListener(this); View modeButton = findViewById(R.id.mode_button); modeButton.setOnClickListener(this); View statsButton = findViewById(R.id.stats_button); statsButton.setOnClickListener(this); View exitButton = findViewById(R.id.exit_button); exitButton.setOnClickListener(this); GestureOverlayView gestures = (GestureOverlayView) findViewById(R.id.gestures); gestures.addOnGesturePerformedListener(this); } public void onGesturePerformed(GestureOverlayView overlay, Gesture gesture) { ArrayList<Prediction> predictions = mLibrary.recognize(gesture); // We want at least one prediction if (predictions.size() > 0) { Prediction prediction = predictions.get(0); // We want at least some confidence in the result if (prediction.score > 1.0) { // Show the gesture Toast.makeText(this, prediction.name, Toast.LENGTH_SHORT).show(); //User drew symbol for PLAY if (prediction.name.equals("Play")) { myTTS.shutdown(); //connect to game // User drew symbol for INSTRUCTIONS } else if (prediction.name.equals("Instructions")) { myTTS.shutdown(); startActivity(new Intent(this, Instructions.class)); // User drew symbol for MODE } else if (prediction.name.equals("Mode")){ myTTS.shutdown(); startActivity(new Intent(this, Mode.class)); // User drew symbol to QUIT } else { finish(); } } } } @Override public void onClick(View v) { switch (v.getId()){ case R.id.instructions_button: startActivity(new Intent(this, Instructions.class)); break; case R.id.mode_button: startActivity(new Intent(this, Mode.class)); break; case R.id.exit_button: finish(); break; } } Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

  • [Android] For-Loop Performance Oddity

    - by Jack Holt
    I just noticed something concerning for-loop performance that seems to fly in the face of the recommendations given by the Google Android team. Look at the following code: package com.jackcholt; import android.app.Activity; import android.os.Bundle; import android.util.Log; public class Main extends Activity { @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.main); loopTest(); finish(); } private void loopTest() { final long loopCount = 1228800; final int[] image = new int[8 * 320 * 480]; long start = System.currentTimeMillis(); for (int i = 0; i < (8 * 320 * 480); i++) { image[i] = i; } for (int i = 0; i < (8 * 320 * 480); i++) { image[i] = i; } Log.i("loopTest", "Elapsed time (recompute loop limit): " + (System.currentTimeMillis() - start)); start = System.currentTimeMillis(); for (int i = 0; i < 1228800; i++) { image[i] = i; } for (int i = 0; i < 1228800; i++) { image[i] = i; } Log.i("loopTest", "Elapsed time (literal loop limit): " + (System.currentTimeMillis() - start)); start = System.currentTimeMillis(); for (int i = 0; i < loopCount; i++) { image[i] = i; } for (int i = 0; i < loopCount; i++) { image[i] = i; } Log.i("loopTest", "Elapsed time (precompute loop limit): " + (System.currentTimeMillis() - start)); } } When I run this code I get the following output in logcat: I/loopTest( 726): Elapsed time (recompute loop limit): 759 I/loopTest( 726): Elapsed time (literal loop limit): 755 I/loopTest( 726): Elapsed time (precompute loop limit): 1317 As you can see the code that seems to recompute the loop limit value on every iteration of the loop compares very well to the code that uses a literal value for the loop limit. However, the code that uses a variable which contains the precomputed value for the loop limit is significantly slower than either of the others. I'm not surprised that accessing a variable should be slower that using a literal but why does code that looks like it should be using two multiply instructions on every iteration of the loop so comparable in performance to a literal? Could it be that because literals are the only thing being multiplied, the Java compiler is optimizing out the multiplication and using a precomputed literal?

  • Deleting items from a ListView using a custom BaseAdapter

    - by HXCaine
    I am using a customised BaseAdapter to display items on a ListView. The items are just strings held in an ArrayList. The list items have a delete button on them (big red X), and I'd like to remove the item from the ArrayList, and notify the ListView to update itself. However, every implementation I've tried gets mysterious position numbers given to it, so for example clicking item 2's delete button will delete item 5's. It seems to be almost entirely random. One thing to note is that elements may be repeated, but must be kept in the same order. For example, I can have "Irish" twice, as elements 3 and 7. My code is below: private static class ViewHolder { TextView lang; int position; } public View getView(final int position, View convertView, ViewGroup parent) { ViewHolder holder; if (convertView == null) { convertView = mInflater.inflate(R.layout.language_link_row, null); holder = new ViewHolder(); holder.lang = (TextView)convertView.findViewById(R.id.language_link_text); holder.position = position; final ImageView deleteButton = (ImageView) convertView.findViewById(R.id.language_link_cross_delete); deleteButton.setOnClickListener(this); convertView.setTag(holder); deleteButton.setTag(holder); } else { holder = (ViewHolder) convertView.getTag(); } holder.lang.setText(mLanguages.get(position)); return convertView; } I later attempt to retrieve the deleted element's position by grabbing the tag, but it's always the wrong position in the list. There is no noticeable pattern to the position given here, it always seems random. // The delete button's listener public void onClick(View v) { ViewHolder deleteHolder = (ViewHolder) v.getTag(); int pos = deleteHolder.position; ... ... ... } I would be quite happy to just delete the item from the ArrayList and have the ListView update itself, but the position I'm getting is incorrect so I can't do that. Please note that I did, at first, have the deleteButton clickListener inside the getView method, and used 'position' to delete the value, but I had the same problem. Any suggestions appreciated, this is really irritating me.

But why it doesn't start?

  • Add inner-marging to a 4 columns CSS

    - by Martín Marconcini
    I am not a CSS expert (mainly because I haven’t had the need to use much HTML/CSS stuff lately), so I came up with the following style/divs to create a 4 column layout: note: most of this stuff comes from this google result, I just adapted it to 4 columns. The HTML then looks like this:
<div class="column first”> SOME TEXT
<div class="column last”> SOME LAST TEXT
Ok, I’ve simplified that a bit (there’s a small image and some < h2 text in there too) but the thing is that I’d like to add some space between the columns. Here’s how it looks now: Do you have any idea what CSS property should I touch? note: If I add margin or padding, one column shifts down because (as I understand it) it doesn’t fit. There might be other CSSs as well, since this came in a template (I have been asked for this change, but I didn’t do any of this, as usual). Thanks for any insight.

  • indentationLevelForRowAtIndexPath not indenting custom cell

    - by Xetius
    I have overridden the tableView:indentationLevelForRowAtIndexPath method in my UITableViewController derived class as follows: - (NSInteger)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView indentationLevelForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath { NSDictionary* item = [self.projects objectAtIndex:indexPath.row]; int indentationLevel = [[item objectForKey:@"indent"] intValue]; DLog (@"Indentation Level for Row %d : %d", indexPath.row, indentationLevel); return indentationLevel; } I initially thought that this was not being called but that was operator error (err, mine) and I hadn't defined the symbol DEBUG=1. However, it is being called (duh me!) and this is the log output: -[RootViewController tableView:indentationLevelForRowAtIndexPath:] [Line 129] Indentation Level for Row 0 : 1 -[RootViewController tableView:indentationLevelForRowAtIndexPath:] [Line 129] Indentation Level for Row 1 : 1 -[RootViewController tableView:indentationLevelForRowAtIndexPath:] [Line 129] Indentation Level for Row 2 : 2 -[RootViewController tableView:indentationLevelForRowAtIndexPath:] [Line 129] Indentation Level for Row 3 : 2 -[RootViewController tableView:indentationLevelForRowAtIndexPath:] [Line 129] Indentation Level for Row 4 : 2 -[RootViewController tableView:indentationLevelForRowAtIndexPath:] [Line 129] Indentation Level for Row 5 : 1 -[RootViewController tableView:indentationLevelForRowAtIndexPath:] [Line 129] Indentation Level for Row 6 : 2 -[RootViewController tableView:indentationLevelForRowAtIndexPath:] [Line 129] Indentation Level for Row 7 : 2 -[RootViewController tableView:indentationLevelForRowAtIndexPath:] [Line 129] Indentation Level for Row 8 : 1 But, this is not affecting the layout of the cells. No indentation. This is my itemCellForRowAtIndexPath implementation, if that makes any difference: -(UITableViewCell*)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView itemCellForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath { static NSString* cellIdentifier = @"projectItemCell"; ProjectItemTableViewCell* cell = (ProjectItemTableViewCell*)[tableView dequeueReusableCellWithIdentifier:cellIdentifier]; if (cell == nil) { NSArray* nib = [[NSBundle mainBundle] loadNibNamed:@"ProjectItemTableViewCell" owner:self options:nil]; for (id oneObject in nib) { if ([oneObject isKindOfClass:[ProjectItemTableViewCell class]]) { cell = (ProjectItemTableViewCell*)oneObject; } } } NSDictionary* item = [self.projects objectAtIndex:indexPath.row]; cell.projectDescLabel.text = [item objectForKey:@"name"]; cell.itemCountlabel.text = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"%d", [[item objectForKey:@"cache_count"] intValue]]; cell.itemCountlabel.backgroundColor = [UIColor colorForHex:[item objectForKey:@"color"]]; cell.indentationWidth = 20; return cell; } How do I indent a custom UITableViewCell which I have defined in Interface Builder? If I change the itemCellForRowAtIndexPath to use a default UITableViewCell with the code below, then it indents fine. static NSString* cellIdentifier = @"projectItemCell"; UITableViewCell* cell = [tableView dequeueReusableCellWithIdentifier:cellIdentifier]; if (cell == nil) { cell = [[[UITableViewCell alloc] initWithStyle:UITableViewCellStyleDefault reuseIdentifier:cellIdentifier] autorelease]; } NSDictionary* item = [self.projects objectAtIndex:indexPath.row]; cell.textLabel.text = [item objectForKey:@"name"]; cell.indentationWidth = 40; return cell;

  • Android calculator with button click

    - by rynwtts
    I am trying to calculate a field named lblAnswer by adding values txtA + txtB. I am fairly new to the android development world and would like to know what is the best way of going about this. I have already added the necessarily edit fields to the GUI. I am now working in the java file to try and create the method. This method has been named doCalc. Here is what I have thus far. public void doCalc() { lblAnswer = txtA + txtB; } It has been suggested that I add more code here is the full code. Thank you for that suggestion. Here is the Java File. package com.example.wattsprofessional; import android.app.Activity; import android.os.Bundle; import android.view.Menu; public class MainActivity extends Activity { @Override protected void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.activity_main); } @Override public boolean onCreateOptionsMenu(Menu menu) { // Inflate the menu; this adds items to the action bar if it is present. getMenuInflater().inflate(R.menu.activity_main, menu); return true; } public void doCalc() { lblAnswer = txtA + txtB; Double.parseDouble(txtA.getText().toString()); lblAnswer.setText"t } and here is the xml file. <RelativeLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" xmlns:tools="http://schemas.android.com/tools" android:layout_width="match_parent" android:layout_height="match_parent" tools:context=".MainActivity" > <EditText android:id="@+id/txtA" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_alignParentTop="true" android:layout_centerHorizontal="true" android:layout_marginTop="40dp" android:ems="10" android:hint="Write Here" android:inputType="numberDecimal" > <requestFocus /> </EditText> <EditText android:id="@+id/txtB" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_alignLeft="@+id/txtA" android:layout_below="@+id/txtA" android:layout_marginTop="32dp" android:ems="10" android:hint="Second Here" android:inputType="numberDecimal" /> <TextView android:id="@+id/lblAnswer" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_below="@+id/button1" android:layout_centerHorizontal="true" android:layout_marginTop="50dp" android:text="TextView" /> </RelativeLayout>

  • Flex - Problem with auto resizing datagrid

    - by Marty Pitt
    Hi All I'm trying to create a datagrid which will resize vertically to ensure all the renderers are displayed in full. Additionally, Renderers are of variable height Renderers can resize themselves Generally speaking, the flow of events is as follows : One of the item renderers resizes itself (normally in response to a user click etc) It dispatches a bubbling event which the parent datagrid picks up The DataGrid attempts to resize to ensure that all renderers remain visible in full. I'm currently using this code within the datagrid to calculate the height: height = measureHeightOfItems(0, dataProvider.length ) + headerHeight; This appears to get an incorrect height. I've tried a number of variations including callLater ( to ensure the resize has completed so measure can work correctly), and overriding meausre() and calling invalidateSize() / validateSize(), but neither works. Below are 3 classes which will illustrate the problem. Clicking the button in the item renderers resizes the renderer. The grid should also expand so that all of the 3 renderers are shown in their entirety. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Regards Marty DataGridProblem.mxml (Application file) <mx:Application xmlns:mx="http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml" layout="vertical" xmlns:view="view.*"> <mx:ArrayCollection id="dataProvider"> <mx:String>Item A</mx:String> <mx:String>Item B</mx:String> <mx:String>Item C</mx:String> </mx:ArrayCollection> <view:TestDataGrid id="dg" dataProvider="{ dataProvider }" width="400"> <view:columns> <mx:DataGridColumn dataField="text" /> <mx:DataGridColumn itemRenderer="view.RendererButton" /> </view:columns> </view:TestDataGrid> </mx:Application> view.TestDataGrid.as package view { import flash.events.Event; import mx.controls.DataGrid; import mx.core.ScrollPolicy; public class TestDataGrid extends DataGrid { public function TestDataGrid() { this.verticalScrollPolicy = ScrollPolicy.OFF; this.variableRowHeight = true; this.addEventListener( RendererButton.RENDERER_RESIZE , onRendererResize ); } private function onRendererResize( event : Event ) : void { resizeDatagrid(); } private function resizeDatagrid():void { height = measureHeightOfItems(0, dataProvider.length ) + headerHeight; } } } view.RendererButton.mxml <mx:HBox xmlns:mx="http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml"> <mx:Button width="50" height="50" click="onClick()" /> <mx:Script> public static const RENDERER_RESIZE : String = "resizeRenderer"; private function onClick() : void { this.height += 20; dispatchEvent( new Event( RENDERER_RESIZE , true ) ); } </mx:Script> </mx:HBox>

  • startActivityForResult to an activity that only displays a progressdialog

    - by Alxandr
    I'm trying to make an activity that is asked for some result. This result is normally returned instantly (in the onCreate), however, sometimes it is nesesary to wait for some internet-content to download which causes the "loader"-activity to show. What I want is that the loader-activity don't display anything more than a progressdialog (and that you can still se the old activity calling the loader-activity in the background) and I'm wondering wheather or not this is possible. The code I'm using as of now is: //ListComicsActivity.java public class ListComicsActivity extends Activity { private static final int REQUEST_COMICS = 1; /** Called when the activity is first created. */ @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.list_comics); Button button = (Button)findViewById(R.id.Button01); button.setOnClickListener(new OnClickListener() { @Override public void onClick(View v) { Intent intent = new Intent(); intent.setAction(Intents.ACTION_GET_COMICS); startActivityForResult(intent, REQUEST_COMICS); } }); } /** Called when an activity called by using startActivityForResult finishes. */ @Override public void onActivityResult(int requestCode, int resultCode, Intent data) { Toast toast = Toast.makeText(this, "The activity finnished", Toast.LENGTH_SHORT); toast.show(); } } //LoaderActivity.java (answers to Intents.ACTION_GET_COMICS action-filter) public class LoaderActivity extends Activity { private Intent result = null; private ProgressDialog pg = null; private Runnable returner = new Runnable() { public void run() { if(pg != null) pg.dismiss(); LoaderActivity.this.setResult(Activity.RESULT_OK, result); LoaderActivity.this.finish(); } }; /** Called when the activity is first created. */ @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); String action = getIntent().getAction(); if(action.equals(Intents.ACTION_GET_COMICS)) { Runnable loader = new Runnable() { public void run() { WebProvider.DownloadComicList(); Intent intent = new Intent(); intent.setDataAndType(ComicContentProvider.COMIC_URI, "vnd.android.cursor.dir/vnd.mymir.comic"); returnResult(intent); } }; pg = ProgressDialog.show(this, "Downloading", "Please wait, retrieving data...."); Thread thread = new Thread(null, loader, "LoadComicList"); thread.start(); } else { setResult(Activity.RESULT_CANCELED); finish(); } } private void returnResult(Intent intent) { result = intent; runOnUiThread(returner); } }

  • Corner Cases, Unexpected and Unusual Matlab

    - by Mikhail
    Over the years, reading others code, I encountered and collected some examples of Matlab syntax which can be at first unusual and counterintuitive. Please, feel free to comment or complement this list. I verified it r2006a. set([], 'Background:Color','red') Matlab is very forgiving sometimes. In this case, setting properties to an array of objects works also with nonsense properties, at least when the array is empty. myArray([1,round(end/2)]) This use of end keyword may seem unclean but is sometimes very handy instead of using length(myArray). any([]) ~= all([]) Surprisigly any([]) returns false and all([]) returns true. And I always thought that all is stronger then any. EDIT: with not empty argument all() returns true for a subset of values for which any() returns true (e.g. truth table). This means that any() false implies all() false. This simple rule is being violated by Matlab with [] as argument. Loren also blogged about it. Select(Range(ExcelComObj)) Procedural style COM object method dispatch. Do not wonder that exist('Select') returns zero! [myString, myCell] Matlab makes in this case an implicit cast of string variable myString to cell type {myString}. It works, also if I would not expect it to do so. [double(1.8), uint8(123)] => 2 123 Another cast example. Everybody would probably expect uint8 value being cast to double but Mathworks have another opinion. a = 5; b = a(); It looks silly but you can call a variable with round brackets. Actually it makes sense because this way you can execute a function given its handle. a = {'aa', 'bb' 'cc', 'dd'}; Surprsisingly this code neither returns a vector nor rises an error but defins matrix, using just code layout. It is probably a relict from ancient times. set(hobj, {'BackgroundColor','ForegroundColor'},{'red','blue'}) This code does what you probably expect it to do. That function set accepts a struct as its second argument is a known fact and makes sense, and this sintax is just a cell2struct away. Equvalence rules are sometimes unexpected at first. For example 'A'==65 returns true (although for C-experts it is self-evident). About which further unexpected/unusual Matlab features are you aware?

  • Static Javascript files not loaded in Express app

    - by Dave Long
    I have an express app that has a bunch of static javascript files that aren't being loaded even though they are registered in my app.js file. Even public scripts (like jQuery: http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.6.3/jquery.min.js) aren't processing. I can see the script tags in the generated html, but none of the functionality runs and I can't see the files loading in the web inspector. Here is the code that I have: app.js var express = require('express') var app = module.exports = express.createServer(); // Configuration var port = process.env.PORT || 3000; app.configure(function(){ app.set('views', __dirname + '/views'); app.set('view engine', 'jade'); app.use(express.bodyParser()); app.use(express.methodOverride()); app.use(app.router); app.use(express.static(__dirname + '/public')); }); app.configure('development', function(){ app.use(express.errorHandler({ dumpExceptions: true, showStack: true })); }); app.configure('production', function(){ app.use(express.errorHandler()); }); // Routes app.get('/manage/new', function(req, res){ res.render('manage/new', { title: 'Create a new widget' }); }) app.listen(port); console.log("Express server listening on port %d in %s mode", app.address().port, app.settings.env); /views/manage/layout.jade !!! 5 html(lang="en") head title= title link(rel="stylesheet", href="/stylesheets/demo.css") link(rel="stylesheet", href="/stylesheets/jquery.qtip.css") script(type="text/javascript", href="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.6.3/jquery.min.js") body!= body script(type="text/javascript", href="/javascripts/jquery.formalize.js") script(type="text/javascript", href="/javascripts/jquery.form.js") script(type="text/javascript", href="/javascripts/jquery.qtip.js") script(type="text/javascript", href="/javascripts/formToWizard.js") script(type="text/javascript", href="/javascripts/widget.js") /views/manage/new.jade h1= title div(style="float:left;") form(action="/manage/generate", method="post", enctype="multipart/form-data", name="create-widget") .errors fieldset legend Band / Album Information fieldset legend Social Networks fieldset legend Download All of my javascript files are stored in /public/javascripts and all of my static CSS files are being served up just fine. What I want to do is change the size of the popup so it shows my whole calendar, but I can't manage to change it..., I've tried using Height, Width, MinHeight, MinWidth... but it doesn't work, the popup keep showing with a fixed size. The thing is that my popup's parent property isn't evaluated since it has expression issues (according to debugger), so I'm sure my popup's parent isn't the main screen( say layout grid). How can I for example make my popup open within a specific context ? This part of my code isn't XAML, it's C# code only and it looks like: using System; using System.Net; using System.Windows; using System.Windows.Controls; using System.Windows.Documents; using System.Windows.Ink; using System.Windows.Input; using System.Windows.Media; using System.Windows.Media.Animation; using System.Windows.Shapes; using System.Windows.Controls.Primitives; namespace CalendarBranch.components { public class wpDatePicker:TextBox { private CalendarPopup calendar; private Popup popup; public wpDatePicker() { this.calendar = new CalendarPopup(); this.popup = new Popup(); this.popup.Child = this.calendar; this.popup.Margin = new Thickness(0); this.MouseLeftButtonUp += new MouseButtonEventHandler(wpDatePicker_MouseLeftButtonUp); this.calendar.onDateSelect += new EventHandler(onDateSelected); this.IsReadOnly = true; } protected void wpDatePicker_MouseLeftButtonUp(object sender, MouseButtonEventArgs e) { this.popup.Height = this.calendar.Height; this.popup.Width = this.calendar.Width; this.popup.HorizontalAlignment = HorizontalAlignment.Center; this.popup.VerticalAlignment = VerticalAlignment.Center; this.popup.HorizontalOffset = 0; this.popup.VerticalOffset = 0; this.popup.MinHeight = this.calendar.Height; this.popup.MinWidth = this.calendar.Width; this.popup.IsOpen = true; } private void onDateSelected(Object sender, EventArgs ea) { this.Text = this.calendar.SelectedValue.ToShortDateString(); this.popup.IsOpen = false; } } } PS: the class Calendar is simply a UserControl that contains a grid with multiple columns, HyperLinkButtons and TextBlocks, so nothing special. Thank you in advance guys ;) Cheers Miloud B.

  • How can I make these images download on a seperate thread?

    - by Andy Barlow
    Hello!! I have the following code running on my Android device. It works great and displays my list items wonderfully. It's also clever in the fact it only downloads the data when it's needed by the ArrayAdapter. However, whilst the download of the thumbnail is occurring, the entire list stalls and you cannot scroll until it's finished downloading. Is there any way of threading this so it'll still scroll happily, maybe show a place holder for the downloading image, finish the download, and then show? Any help with this would be really apreciated. Thank-you kindly. Andy Barlow private class CatalogAdapter extends ArrayAdapter { private ArrayList<SingleQueueResult> items; //Must research what this actually does! public CatalogAdapter(Context context, int textViewResourceId, ArrayList<SingleQueueResult> items) { super(context, textViewResourceId, items); this.items = items; } /** This overrides the getview of the ArrayAdapter. • NullPointerException when linking to Service that uses ContentProvider

    - by Danny Chia
    H.i everyone, this is my first post here! Anyways, I'm trying to write a "todo list" application. It stores the data in a ContentProvider, which is accessed via a Service. However, my app crashes at launch. My code is below: Manifest file: <manifest xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" package="com.examples.todolist" android:versionCode="1" android:versionName="1.0"> <application android:icon="@drawable/icon" android:label="@string/app_name" android:debuggable="True"> <activity android:name=".ToDoList" android:label="@string/app_name" android:theme="@style/ToDoTheme"> <intent-filter> <action android:name="android.intent.action.MAIN" />
</intent-filter> </activity> <service android:name="TodoService"/> <provider android:name="TodoProvider" android:authorities="com.examples.provider.todolist" /> </application> <uses-sdk android:minSdkVersion="7" /> </manifest> ToDoList.java: package com.examples.todolist; import com.examples.todolist.TodoService.LocalBinder; import java.util.ArrayList; import java.util.Date; import android.app.Activity; import android.content.SharedPreferences; import android.database.Cursor; import android.os.AsyncTask; import android.os.Bundle; import android.view.ContextMenu; import android.content.ComponentName; import android.content.Context; import android.content.Intent; import android.content.ServiceConnection; import android.os.IBinder; import android.view.KeyEvent; import android.view.Menu; import android.view.MenuItem; import android.view.View; import android.view.View.OnKeyListener; import android.widget.AdapterView; import android.widget.EditText; import android.widget.ListView; import android.widget.Toast; public class ToDoList extends Activity { static final private int ADD_NEW_TODO = Menu.FIRST; static final private int REMOVE_TODO = Menu.FIRST + 1; private static final String TEXT_ENTRY_KEY = "TEXT_ENTRY_KEY"; private static final String ADDING_ITEM_KEY = "ADDING_ITEM_KEY"; private static final String SELECTED_INDEX_KEY = "SELECTED_INDEX_KEY"; private boolean addingNew = false; private ArrayList<ToDoItem> todoItems; private ListView myListView; private EditText myEditText; private ToDoItemAdapter aa; int entries = 0; int notifs = 0; //ToDoDBAdapter toDoDBAdapter; Cursor toDoListCursor; TodoService mService; boolean mBound = false; /** Called when the activity is first created. */ public void onCreate(Bundle icicle) { super.onCreate(icicle); setContentView(R.layout.main); myListView = (ListView)findViewById(R.id.myListView); myEditText = (EditText)findViewById(R.id.myEditText); todoItems = new ArrayList<ToDoItem>(); int resID = R.layout.todolist_item; aa = new ToDoItemAdapter(this, resID, todoItems); myListView.setAdapter(aa); myEditText.setOnKeyListener(new OnKeyListener() { public boolean onKey(View v, int keyCode, KeyEvent event) { if (event.getAction() == KeyEvent.ACTION_DOWN) if (keyCode == KeyEvent.KEYCODE_DPAD_CENTER) { ToDoItem newItem = new ToDoItem(myEditText.getText().toString(), 0); mService.insertTask(newItem); updateArray(); myEditText.setText(""); entries++; Toast.makeText(ToDoList.this, "Entry added", Toast.LENGTH_SHORT).show(); aa.notifyDataSetChanged(); cancelAdd(); return true; } return false; } }); registerForContextMenu(myListView); restoreUIState(); populateTodoList(); } private void populateTodoList() { // Get all the todo list items from the database. toDoListCursor = mService. getAllToDoItemsCursor(); startManagingCursor(toDoListCursor); // Update the array. updateArray(); Toast.makeText(this, "Todo list retrieved", Toast.LENGTH_SHORT).show(); } private void updateArray() { toDoListCursor.requery(); todoItems.clear(); if (toDoListCursor.moveToFirst()) do { String task = toDoListCursor.getString(toDoListCursor.getColumnIndex(ToDoDBAdapter.KEY_TASK)); long created = toDoListCursor.getLong(toDoListCursor.getColumnIndex(ToDoDBAdapter.KEY_CREATION_DATE)); int taskid = toDoListCursor.getInt(toDoListCursor.getColumnIndex(ToDoDBAdapter.KEY_ID)); ToDoItem newItem = new ToDoItem(task, new Date(created), taskid); todoItems.add(0, newItem); } while(toDoListCursor.moveToNext()); aa.notifyDataSetChanged(); } private void restoreUIState() { // Get the activity preferences object. When I run the program, LogCat shows that the NullPointerException occurs in populateTodoList(), at toDoListCursor = mService.getAllToDoItemsCursor(). mService is the Cursor object returned by TodoService. I've added the service to the Manifest file, but I still cannot find out why it's causing an exception. Thanks in advance.

  • how to align floats in IE6

    - by rei
    Good day! I am having problems displaying floated paragraphs and images in IE6. There was no problem displaying those in Opera and Firefox,though. I have three divs inside a container. Each div has its own paragraph and image either floated to the left or right. In order for me to achieve a desired layout, I set negative margins on most of the paragraphs and images. Here is how I aligned the floats: ----- CSS code for the first div ----- .row1 { float:left; width:790px; height:460px; margin:5px 0 0 40px; } .pic1 { float:right; height:460px; width:382px; margin:-100px -50px 0 -60px; } h2, p { font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; } .row1 p { font-size:12px; text-indent:20px; font-weight:bold; text-align:justify; margin:-10px -25px 0 0; position:relative; } ----------- code for the 2nd div ------------- .row2 { float:left; width:790px; height:234px; margin:-185px 0 0 28px; position:relative; } .row2 p { float:right; font-size:12px; font-weight:bold; text-align:justify; text-indent:20px; margin:-195px 258px 0 175px; position:relative; } .pic2 { float:left; } --------- code for the 3rd div --------------- .row3 { float:left; width:790px; height:203px; margin:-10px 0 0 40px; position:relative; } .row3 p { float:left; font-size:12px; font-weight:bold; text-indent:20px; text-align:justify; margin:-180px 265px 0 10px; position:relative; } .pic3 { float:right; } ///////// The paragraphs seem to be far away from the images when viewed in IE6. Some paragraphs are overlapping with other images. I hope you can help me with this one. Thanks, Rei
