Format an input with Jquery?

I'm building a calculator that has a slider. Everytime I slide the bar an input box is updated with the number, the calculator passes the value and updates the calculation. So my input boxes have dollar values that can range anywhere from $0 to $10,000. Right now my boxes display 0 to 10000 and I want them to be displayed as $0 to $10,000. I'm assuming jquery would be my best route here. How do I format an input box to display values like this. Sort of like an input mask. note: users never have to type into the input box, its all controlled by the slider.

Option not clickable with mouse click after focus on select

I have configured a keyboard navigation for customized selects. I have a problem now and these are the steps reproduce the error 1) Do Focus on Input Name 2) Press Tab 3) If you hover and then do click with the mouse in any of the select options, they can not be selected with the mouse click This is the only error, it works perfectly if you move the arrows up and down and then you press the enter o tab, i want to to be able to select the option also with the mouse click after i do the focus with the tab button in the customized select Technically the problem is that the hover with the keyboards up and down is different when i hover with the mouse in the select-options. Workaround for stopping propagation with live()?

I've run into the problem that has been addressed here without a workaround: I can't use stopPropagation() on dynamically spawned elements. I've tried creating a condition to exclude a click within the dimensions of the spawned element, but that doesn't seem to work at all. Here is what I got: 1) a large background element ("canvas") that is activated to be "sensitive to clicks on it" by a button 2) the canvas, if activated, catches all clicks on it and spawns a small child form ("child") within it 3) the child is positioned relative to the mouse click position. If the mouse click was on the right half of the canvas, the child will be positioned 200 pixels to the left of that spot. (On the right if the click was in the left half) 4) every new click on the canvas removes the existing child (if any) and spawns a new child at the new position (relative to the click) The problem: Since the spawned child element is on top of the canvas, a click on it counts as a click on the canvas. Even if the child is outside of the boundaries of the canvas, clicking on it will trigger the action as described in 4) again . This shouldn't happen. =========== CODE: The button to activate the canvas: $('a#activate').click(function(event){ event.preventDefault(); canvasActive(); }); I referenced the above to show you that the canvas click-catching is happening in a function. Not sure if this is relevant... How can I get my div id to reload via ajax and jquery

I'm creating a CMS using jQuery and AJAX. When I click, my "Add Campaign" buttom, it creates a unique client ID in the DB and on a hard reload, the new client shows up in its container. I am trying to use ajax to reload the container on the fly and I'm not having the exact luck i am hoping for. However as the nested divs appear on top it doesn't quite work that way. How can I hide the mouse cursor when hovering over any of the divs within #container. Ok, here's what I'm trying to do. I have a DIV box with a child element set with DISPLAY: NONE;. I'm trying to use Jquery so that when the mouse enters the parent DIV box, the child element is made visible, and then hides when the mouse leaves the parent DV. There will be multiple divs on the page with these classes. For some reason it's not working. Any ideas? I am trying to setup jQuery rows, with add/remove row functionality. I got started with online tutorial, http://jsbin.com/aciba that works fine. It only has input forms though. We need select to choose from. Now, I made some changes to accept selects as as well as inputs: http://jsbin.com/emata This does not work. Try selecting option 3 in cell 1, and press add "Add". The row added gets default "Cell 1" selected option to 1. What could be the reason?

Alter text field focus order with jQuery

Hi, I was wondering, if I have text fields displayed so, could I alter the order in which the focus using javascript (preferably jQuery). See this example here. What I mean that when you tab around them, instead on going "one, two, three, four, five" force them to go: "one, two, four, three, five". Thanks in advance!! I'm not sure how to approach this as I am fairly new to jQuery. I'm wanting to create a callback function within a custom function. Here's my example: function doSomething() { var output = 'output here'; // Do something here // This is where I want to create the callback function and pass output as a parameter } I want the callback function to be accessible by any number of scripts (e.g. more than one script can access this callback). This function (doSomething) is not part of a plugin but rather part of another callback function itself. I've also created a var within the function and want to pass that through the callback function as well. How can I do this?

My name is Dimas and I work as a developer in a hospital. I've developed a web form with JQuery Mobile which is accessed from an Android tablet. It sends data (text and FILES) to the server (PHP) and it's saved in a MySQL database. This tablets are used by doctors that are visiting the patients in their homes. Some of these patients live in remote areas with very bad Internet connection, so I'm thinking on use HTML5 Offline feature to solve these situations. I started reading about it but I'm newbie with this technology. I've some questions: Do you think this is the best/easiest solution? If I could save the form data in a local sqlite storage when the tablet is offline, how I could synchronize it with the data in MySQL server when the tablet become online? Thanks

YUI and/or jQuery for a new project?

If I am starting a new project how should I pick between using YUI 2, YUI 3 and jQuery? I know there are a bunch of questions/answers already about can you use them together, but I am trying to figure out what criteria I should be thinking about to make my decision. Are they overlapping? Is one better at GUI and the other better at internals? Do they play well together? My understanding from other questions is that they can live in different namespaces, so they can live together, but that doesn't necessarily mean that it is good to use both. Thanks!
