• Creating Wiki Pages through code or CAML

  We are trying to create a site definition that includes a wiki page. Basically we are trying to figure out how to replicate the same process that happens when a user chooses to create a new page in a blank site, and the system says something along the lines of: "In order to create wiki pages on this site, there must be a default wiki page library and site assets library. Would you like to create those document libraries now?" When the user chooses yes, the system provisions those libraries as well as a few "howto" wiki pages. If anyone knows how to trigger that roll-out though code or CAML, we would appreciate the help.

• Ruby Hash.merge with specified keys only

  I'm pretty sure I saw on a Rails related site something along the lines of: def my_function(*opts) opts.require_keys(:first, :second, :third) end And if one of the keys in require_keys weren't specified, or if there were keys that weren't specified, an exception was raised. I've been looking through ActiveSupport and I guess I might be looking for something like the inverse of except. I like to try and use as much of the framework as possible compared to writing my own code, that's the reason I'm asking when I know how to make the same functionality on my own. :) At the moment I'm doing it through the normal merge routine and making sure that I have what I need with some IFs.

• Virtual String Tree - Display subnode when parent node is hidden

  Is there a way to show subnode if the parent node is hidden in the Virtual String Tree ? I have some tasks in the tree structure and I wish to display only tasks which belongs to the current user as the list, but from all levels. What I've done is the function to display a list, which hides tree buttons, tree lines, sets the fixed indent and enable toShowHiddenNodes option. Then in this function I iterate through the whole tree (all levels) and hide nodes which doesn't belong to the current user IsVisible[Node] := False and show those which belongs him IsVisible[Node] := True, but the subnodes which should be displayed are invisible when their parent is hidden. • Why doesn't functools.partial return a real function (and how to create one that does)?

  So I was playing around with currying functions in Python and one of the things that I noticed was that functools.partial returns a partial object rather than an actual function. One of the things that annoyed me about this was that if I did something along the lines of: five = partial(len, 'hello') five('something') then we get TypeError: len() takes exactly 1 argument (2 given) but what I want to happen is TypeError: five() takes no arguments (1 given) Is there a clean way to make it work like this?   Hi all, I keep all modules of our system in one dir (e.g. All\ModuleA; All\ModuleB). I want to see what types of files are most numerous and take up the most space, by module. So, I'd like output along the lines of: ModName,java-count,java-size,xml-count,xml-size,png-count,png-size... ModuleA,30,0.2,100,2.3,0,0,... ModuleB,21,0.1,20,0.7,1,1.2 Not all modules have files of all types, so this will only work if I list all types for all module (with lots of zeros). I have something that almost works, but it's hideous, verbose and inefficient. I'm sure someone can help me see the light :-) (which, by the way, can be a piece of freeware software that does this out of the box; I only chose to do this in powershell out of interest). thanks

• Dynamic added elements double effect after page transition

  I have added dynamic from jQuery in my code, but when I go back one page and return to the page where the 's are added and you press them, they somehow click twice now. I have tried with an alert('something'); when I click: $(document).on('click', '#products a', function() { alert('something'); } And it's shown twice when you return to the page. I have tried $('#products a').remove(); When you click the 'Back' button, because I thought all elements where added twice, but that made no difference. I don't have anything around these lines, maybe I need $(document).ready(); or something with pageinit?

• How can I make external script output link to code in Visual Studio?

  I sometimes need to search code for patterns in a way that goes beyond the regex capabilities of Visual Studio (e.g. patterns that depend on what was seen previously in the file or on the contents of other files). So I use Perl to analyze the source and output matching lines, along with the file name and line number. Since this is the exact same format as is produced by the search feature of Visual Studio, I wonder if there is a way to duplicate the functionality where I can double-click on a line and it will display that line in context in Visual Studio. Any ideas?

• requireJS : How to structure Javascript for an entire site?

  I have 3000+ lines of javascript that I need to get into a sensible/maintainable structure. I have chosen to use requireJS as it has been recommend to me by a few people. I have a bunch of variables that are used throughout the application and need to be available everywhere. I also have a bunch of functions that need to be available everywhere. Apart from these two dependencies most of the code can be divided off into their own modules. I am having trouble understanding how to manage my main variables so that if one module of code makes changes to the variables the rest of the JS modules will see that change. I think I need to see a few examples that demonstrate how requireJS is intended to work on a larger scale that the examples in the documentation. If anyone is an experienced requireJS user I would love the hear your tips!

  I am having a find a replace in a bunch of RTF documents, The basic pattern I need is \{(?:\\\*)?\\field\\fldlock\{\\\*\\fldinst ?MERGEFIELD ?((?:\\.*?)?[\w\[\]]+?)(?:\\.*?)?\}(?:\{\\fldrslt\})?\} However I then found out there could potentialy be a newline before each slash, so it turned in to this. \{(?:\s*\\\*)?\s*\\field\s*\\fldlock\s*\{\s*\\\*\s*\\fldinst\s*MERGEFIELD\s*((?:\\.*?)?[\w\[\]]+?(?:\s*\\.*?)?)?\s*\}(?:\s*\{\s*\\fldrslt\s*\})?\s*\} But then I hit this it fails fees totaling $\protect {\field\fldlock{\*\fldinst MERGEFIELD ENTEROUTSTANDINGVETERINARYF EES}}\plain\f0\fs24\prot Is there way have to have it match a new line anywhere in the search too without adding (?:\r?\n)? everywhere? EDIT To clear up confusion on the new lines. I need to keep the newlines in the document, I only want to remove the newlines if they are inside my match, so in the final example I posted it should replace fees totaling $\protect {\field\fldlock{\*\fldinst MERGEFIELD ENTEROUTSTANDINGVETERINARYF EES}}\plain\f0\fs24\prot with fees totaling $\protect ENTEROUTSTANDINGVETERINARYFEES\plain\f0\fs24\prot

• Reading in a file - Warning Message in R

  I have a file that has 22268 rows BY 2521 columns. When I try to read in the file using this line of code: file <- read.table(textfile, skip=2, header=TRUE, sep="\t", fill=TRUE, blank.lines.skip=FALSE) I get the following error: Warning message: In scan(file, what, nmax, sep, dec, quote, skip, nlines, na.strings, : number of items read is not a multiple of the number of columns I also used this command to see what rows had an incorrect number of columns: x <-count.fields("train.gct", sep="\t", skip=2) which(x != 2521) and got back a list of about 20 rows that were incorrect. Is there a way to fill these rows with NA values? I thought that is what the "fill" parameter does in the read.table function, but it doesn't appear so. Any help would be greatly appreciated.   I'm pretty new to Python programming and would appreciate some help to a problem I have... Basically I have multiple text files which contain velocity values as such: 0.259515E+03 0.235095E+03 0.208262E+03 0.230223E+03 0.267333E+03 0.217889E+03 0.156233E+03 0.144876E+03 0.136187E+03 0.137865E+00 etc for many lines... What I need to do is convert all the values in the text file that are less than 1 (e.g. 0.137865E+00 above) to an arbitrary value of 0.100000E+01. While it seems pretty simple to replace specific values with the 'replace()' method and a while loop, how do you do this if you want to replace a range? thanks

  My question is similar to this combinations question but in my case I have N (N 4) small sets (1-2 items per set for now might go to 3 maybe 4) and want to generate each combination of one item from each set. The current solution looks somethinging along the lines of this for(T:: iterator a = setA.begin(); a != setA.end(); ++a) for(T:: iterator b = setB.begin(); b != setB.end(); ++b) for(T:: iterator c = setC.begin(); c != setC.end(); ++c) for(T:: iterator d = setD.begin(); d != setD.end(); ++d) for(T:: iterator e = setE.begin(); e != setE.end(); ++e) something(*a,*b,*c,*d,*e); Simple, effective, probably reasonably efficient, but ugly and not very extensible. Does anyone know of a better/cleaner way to do this?

I have until now buildt web-pages with floats, but now I need z-index, and therefore I need to use position The test page is here http://www.it-stud.h...hovedp/combine/ The problem being the timelines (vertical multicoloured lines on the right), and this looks and works fine in FireFox and Opera for Mac and Pc, IE8, but scary things happens in Chrome and Safari. It validates XHTML Transitional. I have position inherit on some of the elements, but I have problems finding a solution. Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I am out to sea on this one.   I'm trying to come up with a validation expression to prevent users from entering html or javascript tags into a comment box on a web page. The following works fine for a single line of text: ^(?!.(<|)).$ ..but it won't allow any newline characters because of the dot(.). If I go with something like this: ^(?!.(<|))(.|\s)$ it will allow multiple lines but the expression only matches '<' and '' on the first line. I need it to match any line. This works fine: ^[-_\s\d\w"'.,:;#/&\$\%\?!@+*\()]{0,4000}$ but it's ugly and I'm concerned that it's going to break for some users because it's a multi-lingual application. Any ideas? Thanks!

  How can you append to the end of a line by SED controlled by makefile? I run paste -d" " t.tex tE.tex | sed 's@$@XXX@' > tM.tex where the problem is in the use of the mark $ for the end of the line. I get #paste -d" " t.tex tE.tex | sed -e s/" "/\\\&/g | sed -r "s/XXX/" > tM.tex sed: -e expression #1, char 10: unterminated `s' command make: *** [all] Error 1 I have the command just after the "all:" tag in my makefile which contains only the two lines. The parameters -n and -e do not help here. The command works as expected run when it is run directly in terminal.

  I do have a solution for the following problem but it's quite ugly and it can most likely be done in a much shorter way. Would be great to get your help. My input looks like this: C1 C2 A B B D D C A D and my output should look like this: A B C D 1 1 0 0 0 1 0 1 0 0 1 1 1 0 0 1 My current solution is: index <- unique(unlist(input[,1:2])) output <- matrix(0,nrows=dim(input),ncols=length(index)) for(i in 1:dim(input)) { output[i, input[i,]$C1] <- 1 output[i, input[i,]$C2] <- 1 } Of course 4-5 lines is actually fine - but even as an R beginner this doesn't feel right to use a for loop. Besides that my actual data has much more than two columns, therefore this doesn't look nice in the end. How would I do that in a smarter way? Cheers

• How can I use git to stage only one line in a file for commit, all from a script?

  I'm writing a simple pre-commit git hook that updates the year in copyright headers for files that are staged for commit. After modifying the line with the copyright, I would like the hook to stage that line so that it is part of the commit. It can't just git add the whole file, because there may be other pre-existing changes in there that shouldn't be staged. I don't see any options in the git add manual the let you stage specific lines. I figure I could git stash save --keep-index, apply my change, git add the file, and then git stash pop, but that seems rather crude. Any better approaches?

However I need to include some lines that have this text in it, e.g.: some of my text ===== stuff ===== some more of my text And I don't want the ==== to be interpreted as a heading, i.e. I don't want stuff to be a heading.   I thought by placing these two lines that it would prevent the page from being cached but this is not the case between the head tags: <meta http-equiv="pragma" content="no-cache" /> <meta http-equiv="cache-control" content="no-cache" /> As already mentioned this is on server that doesn't support PHP (or any server side language, well, that's not true, it has cgi-bin folder that supports perl scripts but I don't know perl and have no time to engage in it.) What else could I do to prevent the page from caching? It caches on Firefox and IE (and not so much in Chrome or Safari.)

• Is it stable to change I/O direction on microcontroller repeatedly?

  I'm new to microcontroller programming and I have interfaced my microcontroller board to another device that provides a status based on the command send to it but, this status is provided on the same I/O pin that is used to provide data. So basically, I have an 8-bit data line that is used as an output from the microcontroller, but for certain commands I get a status back on one of the data lines if I choose to read it. So I would be required to change the direction of this one line to read the status thus converting this line as an ouput to an input and then back to an output. Is this acceptable programming or will this changing of the I/O pin this frequently cause instability? Thanks.

  Hi, when I'm trying to compile my c program it gives me this error warning: integer constant is too large for 'long' type which refers to these lines int barcode, a, b, c; scanf("%d", &barcode); a = barcode / 1000000000000; b = barcode / 100000000000 % 10; c = barcode / 10000000000 % 10; and the rest is fine. I know I'm not supposed to use int for such a large number, any suggestions on what I should use? if I replace int with double what should the '%d' part be replaced with then?
