  • Visual Studio 2010 HTML Designer Renders Unlike IE8?

    My question is: since Visual Studio 2010 was only just released, why does it not render pages in the same way as the latest Microsoft web browser, IE8? Is there a bunch of render options I should be setting? I thought Expression Web was supposed to help with its fancy Super Preview but that app doesn't even open VS solutions.   • Is it possible to store credentials for auotmatic Team Foundation Server login?

    Is it possible to store the credentials that I use to connect to my Team Foundation Server directly in Visual Studio 2010? I would like to avoid to insert them at every VS launch. The problem is that the machine that host TFS is not in the domain and I am conneting using the credentials of a user created on that machine. Suppose that the machine name is TOOLS and the user is Marco, I need to insert every time User name: TOOLS\Marco Password: * Can you suggest a possible fix, if exists?

  • Error compiling Visual Studio 2010 EditorClassifier Extension Template

    I'm trying to create an Editor Classifier Template project and run it. When I attempt to build I get an error message stating: "Error trying to read the VSIX manifest file 'extension.vsixmanifest'. Exception has been thrown by target of invocation." Any thoughts? I've tried googling this but didn't have any luck. I am working with Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate and the VS 2010 SDK Beta 1. Thanks, Nick

    I am not interested in the technology e.g. CORBA vs Web Services, I am interested in principles. When we are doing OOP, why should we have something so procedural at higher level? Is not it the same as with OOP and relational databases? Often services are supported through code generation, apart from boilerplate, I think it is because we new SOM - service object mapper. So again, what are the reasons for wervices rather than objects?

    I have a project in C# and I get this error every time I try to compile the project : (Unable to copy file "obj\Debug\Project1.exe" to "bin\Debug\Project1.exe". The process cannot access the file 'bin\Debug\Project1.exe' because it is being used by another process.), so I have to close the process from the task manager. my project is only one form and there is no multithreading. what is the solution (without restarting VS or Killing the process)?

    I have a web service file in my project having a web method which is used for AutoCompleteExtender and which works fine when I debug it from VS. But when I publish and host it on IIS, it's not working properly. However, I tested the webservice method directly by typing the URL and it gave the desired output. Is their a special setting needs to be done in IIS to make it working or any property of AutoCompleteExtender need to be set?

  • No memory window in Visual Studio 2010

    I have VS2010 Premium RTM version on Windows 7 Ultimate x64. In the documentation they refer to the Memory 1-4 windows, supposedly under Debug-Windows-Memory. I have "Enable address-level debugging" enabled in VS (Options-Debugging). The problem is that I have no Memory menu item under Debug-Windows during debug of a c++ program. Under Debug-Windows I have only: Breakpoints Parallel Tasks Parallel Stacks Watch - Locals Call Stack Threads Have anyone else experienced this (and hopefully solved it)?

    I've thrown together some code to tinker with the new .Net 4.0/VS 2010 pieces, but I can't seem to find a build of my logging framework of choice (log4net) for 4.0, and I'm getting reference errors with the 2.0 version. Is there a 4.0 version available somewhere? I'm not asking for new features, just a version that's already been rebuilt against the new assemblies. Anyone know where I can find a build of 1.2.10 built for the 4.0 framework?

    I know the bits just came out today, but one of the first things I want to do with the newly released Windows Mobile 7 SDK is put a map up on the screen and mess around. I've downloaded the latest version of the Silverlight Maps Control and added the references to my application. As a matter of fact, the VS 2010 design view of the MainPage.xaml shows the map control after adding the namespace and placing the control. I'm using the provided VS 2010 Express version that comes with the Win Mobile 7 SDK and have just used the New Project - Windows Phone Application template. When I try to build I get two warnings related to the Microsoft.Maps.MapControl dll's. Warning 1 The primary reference "Microsoft.Maps.MapControl, Version=1.0.1.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=498d0d22d7936b73, processorArchitecture=MSIL" could not be resolved because it has an indirect dependency on the framework assembly "System.Windows.Browser, Version=2.0.5.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=7cec85d7bea7798e" which could not be resolved in the currently targeted framework. "Silverlight,Version=v4.0,Profile=WindowsPhone". To resolve this problem, either remove the reference "Microsoft.Maps.MapControl, Version=1.0.1.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=498d0d22d7936b73, processorArchitecture=MSIL" or retarget your application to a framework version which contains "System.Windows.Browser, Version=2.0.5.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=7cec85d7bea7798e".     Has anyone found/made any decent color themes for Visual Studio 2010? My VS 2005/2008 themes seem to be getting mangled in the upgrade process.     Hi, I am having a requirement, where I need to have a pie-chart, i need text around pie-chart , the text should be a hyperlink. Ex: we have 3 three fields A,B,C. A's ratio is 30%, B's ratio is 40%, c's ratio is 30% So pie chart gets divided into 3 parts, outside the graph , we should get the label A(in A's area only), when we point on , tool tip should say "A's ratio is 30 %'.
