• Acer Aspire 7739G-6647 won't connect to the internet

  Acer Aspire 7739G-6647, it belongs to a family member. I reinstalled the chipset, LAN drivers, ethernet controllers, etc. I'm positive it's not my router or modem or anything like that. I have other laptops running on the network, this one just has some strange issue. For some reason, it's saying "Work Offline" is enabled when I open Windows Media Player, and the PC seems to be connected to the network, but on the graphic in networking, it doesn't show the connection between the network and the internet. Could anyone try to state any possible reason for this issue? Any help is appreciated.

  In GMP library, _mp_size holds the number of limbs of an integer.. we can create integers of size 1 limb(32bits),2 limbs(64bits),3 limbs(96bits)...so on. using mpz_init or mpz_random functions.. cant we create an integer variable of size 8bit or 16 bit.. other than multiples of 32 bit size ??? can you code for that?? thank you ..

Example of what I mean: index.php ------ With the ajax calls Should I have one file such as 'ajax.php' that has functions for update, delete, and edit.   It is simple to implement a port mapper using bufferevent_* functions of libevent. However, the documentation states that "This file descriptor is not allowed to be a pipe(2)". Will libevent work correctly if I shutdown the socket in one direction shutdown(socket, SHUT_WR);? I expect it to discard remaining data in the buffer and not write there anymore, but continue reading from socket and calling a read handler.

  Hi, I'd like to know how to control my application's volume from the volume keys ( contrary to my belief , I've read they control only the ringer volume). Should I overwrite the onKey Down/Up ? , or is there other way to accomplish this ? . I'm asking because if I overwrite the upper mentioned function for an activity, then the functions will receive the event only if a view associated with the this activity has the focus, and I looking for something "Globaly" ( to work no matter what activity is running now)

• Windows 2008 R2 Scheduled Task Not Running With Admin Privileges even if granted?

  I have a scheduled task that is running as USER. I have checked the box "Run with highest privileges" in the scheduled task properties. The task is a powershell script that, among other things, reboots the system. The script executes and runs normally, but as a scheduled task, it fails to reboot the system. Here is the kicker: When I manually run the script as USER using the exact same command line as what's in the scheduled task, the script still runs but this time it actually reboots the system. I have UAC disabled and USER is a member of the local Admins group. The local Admins group has the right to shut down the system. Nothing in the event logs offers any clues. Why would the same script running under the same credentials work interactively but not as a scheduled task? UPDATE: This is too weird. When the task ran on schedule, everything worked normally.

Does the SSLProxyEngine directive have anything to do with this?

  Hi, does anyone know of a very simple SQL Server client tool - that does the same basic functions as Management Studio (i.e. choose a database and run a query - doesn't need an Object Explorer, or anything fancy)? So such code, to my knowledge is not suitable for unit testing Is there a tool that can test each routine automatically replacing references to code elements external to the routine (be they functions, variables or GUI controls) with appropriate mocks(?) and record the results in a database for later comparison after code changes? So the testing program would have the duty of writing, running and reporting tests with minimal intervention?

  It doesn't matter who I am logged in as I am getting the following error in the mmc console when I launch the firewall advanced settings There was an error opening the Windows Firewall with Advanced Security snap in You do not have the correct permissions to open the Windows Firewall with Advanced Security console, You must be a member of the Administrators group or the Network Operators group to perform this task. For more information, contact your system administrator. Error code: 0x5. Ive tried processmonitor to identify what permission is being denied but no luck. If I run netsh directly I get access denied as well. This is running windows server 2008 SP2. And yes I was running as an administrator. Any ideas?

• JavaScript autocomplete upon typing

  Right guys, all autocomplete plugins and functions that I've found, they only update upon keyup/down, etc. This is fine but the search only begins occurring once the user has stopped typing and if they are typing a phrase or word, the script is unable to instantly start suggesting, etc. I know this'll be a very simple fix or suggestion for some of you guys, so any help would be greatly appreciated as to how I can convert it to be instantly as a key is pressed.   I'd like to do a bit of matrix/vector arithmetic in JavaScript, and was wondering if any browsers or other JS implementations actually have support for vectorized operations, for instance for quickly summing the entries of two Arrays (or summing, or whatever). Even if that currently doesn't mean it compiles down to vectorized operations, at least some language support would be nice for when it does get implemented - I'd take the existence of functions or syntax to support it as a step in the right direction. (Understandably, "vectorization javascript" searches are pretty much all about graphics and SVG.)

• Can't assign software to non-admin account

  I'm trying to deploy software on our domain using group policy, but I am only able to do so if the user is a member of a group with administrative privileges. We do not want to allow users to install programs generally, but do want to be able to assign/publish. The test program I'm using is originally a .msi file, and it installs fine for users in the administrators group. How can we assign/publish to normal users without opening up the ability to install whatever? Also, from what I've read, I believe I have correct permissions on the folder/share where the .msi files are stored. This is on Win2008R2 with Win7Pro clients.

The only constraint on the map functions are: each list of digits must map to a unique character string (this means the string can be arbitrarily long) character string can only contain 0-9, a-z, A-Z What map function would produce the shortest strings? Solutions in JavaScript are preferred. note: Clearly the simplest solution is to use the original list of digits, so make sure you solution does better than that.

• Managing Active Directory Group Membership with a Non-Administrator Account In Server 2008

  I am running Server 2008 R2 in an Active Directory Domain Environment. I have created a group in Active Directory and I have delegated management authority to that group to a user. I want this user to be able to add and remove accounts as needed from that group so that they are exercising some measurement of control without giving them other authority. When I have the user attempt to access the Active Directory Users & Computers Console it prompts them for Administrator credentials. They are using Remote Desktop to access the server, because they do not have Windows 7, and firewall rules prevent using the Remote Management Kit. I do not want to provide them with any level of Administrative rights except the minimum required for them to add/remove users from this group. There are two servers that 'talk' to each other in this isolated environment, a domain controller and a member server, both are only reachable through RDP. Any suggestions?

• Clients not recognizing secondary LDAP groups?

  I'm having an issue where users who are members of secondary groups in LDAP are not being recognized as members of that group by the client. In this case, user jdoe is not being recognized as a member of the projects group. On the client, getent group shows: projects:*:20001:1001,1002,1003,1004,1005,1006 and getent passwd shows: jdoe:x:1003:10003:John Doe:/home/jdoe:/bin/bash But if I log in to the client as jdoe, and run id, I get: uid=1003(jdoe) gid=10003(jdoe) groups=24(cdrom),25(floppy),29(audio),44(video),46(plugdev),10003(jdoe) It recognizes jdoe's primary group, and the secondary groups that are appended by the client to all LDAP users, but the LDAP secondary groups are not in the list. We can see that jdoe's id is in the projects group, so why is the projects group not showing when jdoe runs the id command? The group objects are basic posixGroup entries, with a memberUid attribute for each of its members. We are using OpenLDAP on Ubuntu 10.04 server and clients.
