• Select Statement to show missing records (Easy Question)

  I need some T-SQL that will show missing records. Here is some sample data: Emp 1 01/01/2010 02/01/2010 04/01/2010 06/01/2010 Emp 2 02/01/2010 04/01/2010 05/01/2010 etc... I need to know Emp 1 is missing 03/01/2010 05/01/2010 Emp 2 is missing 01/01/2010 03/01/2010 06/01/2010 The range to check will start with todays date and go back 6 months. In this example, lets say today's date is 06/12/2010 so the range is going to be 01/01/2010 thru 06/01/2010. The day is always going to be the 1st in the data. • Which GUI control is suitable for this purpose?

  Hello, I'm using winforms of .NET & C#. I'm developing a medical software. I need to implement "Patient History". When doctor enters the PatientID. All the previous appointment dates will be displayed in a side panel. These entries will dynamically fetched from the database. Interface will be more or less similar to Histroy in web browser. Except that I'm not going to use tree control and categorize entries into 'today' 'yesterday' 'older than 7 days' 'last week' etc.. What controls do I need to use. I'm not clear about this. If you have any better idea. Please mention.

• Wordpress + VMware CSS path problem

  I posted a similar question earlier today but this question is clearer. I want to locally develop my Wordpress websites (on my Mac) and test them in Internet Explorer (6,7,8) on Windows XP. I can get the MAMP welcome screen to show in Windows XP, so I know VMWare is doing it's thing. The local URL for my site (on my Mac) is: URL (http://d3creative:8888/) But the local URL under VMware/Internet Explorer is: URL (http://192.168.2.1:8888/d3creative/) This is the only way I can get it to show up, problem is all the CSS styles are referencing the local Mac URL (http://d3creative:8888/) So understandably the CSS isn't showing up. Is there a way to tell Windows that "http://192.168.2.1:8888/d3creative/" should equal "http://d3creative:8888/" I've tried editing the "hosts" file within in Windows XP and I've rebooted after making any changes, but nothing is working. My software: MAMP Pro (v1.8.2) Wordpress (v2.8.6) Windows XP (SP3) Internet Explorer (6, 7, 8) Any help would be much appreciated. Stephen Meehan

  I work on legacy systems and I used to see revision history of files or functions being modified every release in the source code, for example: // // Rev. If yes, how do you apply modifications on the source code - do you comment it or delete it completely? If not, what's the best way to document these revisions? If you use version control systems, does it follow that your source files contain pure source codes, except for comments when necessary (no revision history for each function, etc.)?

• Convert local time (10 digit number) to a readable datetime format

  Hey all, I'm working with pbx for voip calls. One aspect of pbx is that you can choose to receive CDR packages. Those packages have 2 timestamps : "utc" and "local", but both seem to always be the same. Here's an example of a timestamp : "1268927156". At first sight, there seems to be no logic in it. So i tried converting it several ways, but with no good result. That value should provide a time around 11am (+1GMT) today. Things i tried: Datetime dt = new Datetime(number); Timespan ts = new Timespan(number); DateTime utc = new DateTime(number + 504911232000000000, DateTimeKind.Utc) and some others i can't remember right now. Am i missing something stupid here? Thanks in advance

  Today, I found myself coding something like this ... public class LocalEnums { public LocalEnums() { } public void foo() { enum LocalEnum { A,B,C }; // .... // class LocalClass { } } } and I was kind of surprised when the compiler reported an error on the local enum: The member enum LocalEnum cannot be local Why can't enums be declared local like classes? I found this very useful in certain situations. In the case I was working, the rest of the code didn't need to know anything about the enum. Is there any structural/design conflict that explains why this is not possible or could this be a future feature of Java?

• Open working copy file from eclipse history view

  The history view of eclipse shows you a list of files changed in a certain revision. When you open the context menu on one of these you have the option 'Open' which opens a view of that file in that revision. How can I open the editor for the selected file, i.e. the file in the version of the working copy, right from the history view? Background is that I want to use the history view to find files that have been changed recently to do code reviewing. People commit via subversion and I use subclipse to connect eclipse to the subversion server. Today, I must use the 'Open resource'/'Open type' function and type the name of the file that I can read from the history view.

  I am finding a lot of useful help here today, and I really appreciate it. This should be the last one for the day: I have a list of the top 10 keywords per site, sorted by visits, by date. The records need to be sorted as follows (excuse the formatting): 2010-05 2010-04 site1.com keyword1 apples wine keyword1 visits 100 12 keyword2 oranges water keyword2 visits 99 10 site2.com keyword1 blueberry cornbread keyword1 visits 90 100 keyword2 squares biscuits keyword2 visits 80 99 Basically what I need to accomplish involves grouping, but I can't seem to figure it out. Am I heading down the right path, or is there another way to achieve this, or is it just impossible?

• Invert regexp in vim

  There's a few "how do I invert a regexp" questions here on stackoverflow, but I can't find one for vim (if it does exist, by goggle-fu is lacking today). In essence I want to match all non-printable characters and delete them. I could write a short script, or drop to a shell and use tr or something similar to delete, but a vim solution would be dandy :-) Vim has the atom \p to match printable characters, however trying to do this :s/[^\p]//g to match the inverse failed and just left me with every 'p' in the file. I've seen the (?!xxx) sequence in other questions, and vim seems to not recognise this sequence. I've not found seen an atom for non-printable chars. In the interim, I'm going to drop to external tools, but if anyone's got any trick up their sleeve to do this, it'd be welcome :-) Ta!

• Google Chrome + Ajax

  Im writing an ajax web app that uses Comet/Long Polling to keep the webpage up to date, and I noticed in Chrome, it treats the page as if its always loading (icon for the tab keeps spinning). I thought this was normal for Google Chrome + Ajax because even Google Wave had this behaviour. Well today I noticed that Google Wave no longer keeps the loading icon spinning, anyone know how they fixed this? • Cannot connect to local database.

  Hi, I have apache and mysql set up on my local machine (Mac). Whenever I go to any of my local sites I get the "Error establishing a database connection" whenever anything mySql related happens. It was working perfectly yesterday, but when I started my computer today it is not. I can login to mysql on the terminal and that all works fine, I can view database and run queries in the terminal. Look at all my table etc. I've tried restarting apache. Anyone know what's up? This is worrying.

• .Net Regular expression - how to do an exact match exclusion on a full string?

  I need a .Net regular expression that matches anything OTHER than the exact full string match specified. So basically: ^Index$ ... is the only exclusion I care about. Strings can start with, finish with or contain "Index", but not match exactly. My brain doesn't seem to be working today and I'm failing to work this one out. EDIT The answer MUST be via the pattern itself, as I am passing an argument to a third party library and do not have control over the process other than via the Regex pattern.

  I'm developing a menu. This menu, will change the background image when you click on a link, as almost all menus does. if i click in one link from the menu, this link backgroun will change the color. My jquery script is: $(function() { $('#menu ul li').click(function() { $('#menu ul li').removeClass("current_page_item"); $(this).addClass("current_page_item"); //return false; }); }); today, with the "return false" commented, when i click on the link under "#menu ul li" it changes the background open the new page and the background is reseted. For sure, if i uncomment the return false, the background works fine but then i cannot open any link. So its looks like after that i open a new page, it reset the classes. How can i make it persistent?

• Ruby gems gone after after jruby install

  Today I installed jruby by downloading it, extracting it to /home/james/jruby-1.4.0 and adding the following line to .bashrc export JRUBY_HOME=/home/james/jruby-1.4.0 export PATH=$JRUBY_HOME/bin:$PATH And then I installed some jruby gems via jruby -S gem install ... Jruby works fine, but this seemed to have cause two problems: 1) When I try to run a ruby (not jruby) on rails migration, I see: Missing the Rails gem. Please `gem install -v= rails`, update your RAILS_GEM_VERSION setting in config/environment.rb for the Rails version you do have installed, or comment out RAILS_GEM_VERSION to use the latest version installed. 2) when I do gem list --local, I only see the gems that I've installed for jruby. Launching web applications via ruby script/server succeeds without any warnings. Please help.

  The MiscInfoStream in a minidump file contains the process create time. I'd like to find out how long the process has been running for before the crash. Does a minidump file contain the exception timestamp anywhere? WinDbg on this dump file displays the following, which implies that it's in there somewhere... Debug session time: Tue Dec 29 15:49:20.000 2009 (GMT+0) System Uptime: not available Process Uptime: 0 days 0:33:03.000 Note that today's Mar 15, so this is almost certainly the timestamp of the crash. I'd like a programmatic way to retrieve that value and the "Process Uptime" value. I found the MINIDUMP_MISC_INFO_3 structure, which contains some timezone information, but it doesn't seem to contain the exception time.

• I want to use 960 or Blueprint, but I also want to use lots of Padding and Borders, is it a good fit

  I started using 960 today and thought it would be really easy. However, trying to translate a site to 960 quickly proved tough for many reasons. The first is that I can't use any padding or borders. Unless of course I add many more divs. Same thing with borders. Question is, if I want to use lots of padding and borders (where padding and borders are either 5px "thin" or 10px "thick" styles), are 960 and blueprint overkill? It seems pretty easy to create a custom grid, but once I add padding and borders, 99% of the work is making sure the grid doesn't break. I still am going to end up lining everything up to a 960 grid with 12 columns, but I want to have padding and borders included in the width, and it seems that's not easily possible with 960 or blueprint. What are your thoughts?

• Test wordpress sites for SQL Injection on siteurl

  I have a client who's wordpress sites have gotten hacked twice by iframe scammers. Each time they've injected iframe code into the content of the sites. This last time, today, they simply changed the siteurl in wp_options to their iframe code. The result was obvious and appeared to simply botch the paths of the scripts that rely on I can't determine if its a password compromise (on FTP or WordPress itself) or a SQL injection to alter siteurl. Since the only thing that was altered is siteurl, I'm thinking perhaps SQL Injection. What are your thoughts? Any way to scan a site for potential SQL injection vulnerabilities? The only active plugins on the site are contact form 7 and google xml sitemaps.

• VSTS 2008 Load testing, Is it any good?

  I have already spent couple of weeks trying to use this tool to generate some webtest and load test. But every day it throws a weird problem for which I do not find anything in document. examples: Hidden variables (_lastfocus) not found in the context error. Today, all of sudden it is now refusing to run some of the webtest which are part of the test mix in my load test run (is working fine with another load test). Are enterprise level, expensive tools are only good? (like loadrunner, silkperformer etc).

• Does a .NET 4.0 website load faster for a reason?

  I have been using DotNetBlogEngine for many years, and today my host (JodoHost.com) officially turned on support for .NET 4.0. What I've noticed immediately is that the website loads tremendously faster on the first load, subsequent loads are only slightly faster. The website is compiled as a .NET 2.0 web application. Is there a known reason for this performance increase? Was there a change in the .NET 4.0 framework that improved the initial load time of websites into an application pool?   Hi guys, Is there a way to have treat google serach results as an rss feed? For example say I worked for stackoverflow and wanted to montior how if the results from the following search url: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=stackoverflow changes from day today. It would be cool if I could append &output=rss to the url and get back a feed like with google news. But that does not seem to be supported. Anyone have ideas? • Calculating usage of localStorage space

  I am creating an app using the Bespin editor and HTML5's localStorage. It stores all files locally and helps with grammar, uses JSLint and some other parsers for CSS and HTML to aid the user. I want to calculate how much of the localStorage limit has been used and how much there actually is. Is this possible today? I was thinking for not to simply calculate the bits that are stored.   Hi all, I was searching for a light data access framework based on NHibernate. I needed simple CRUD and some simple HQL or LINQ-to-NHhibernate queries. Performance was not an important issue and applications which I'm working on have simple table structure but many tables. This data access framework is going to be used in a ASP.NET Webform application. Once a time I found S#harp architecture, but it was developed for ASP.NET MVC. Just today I found Castle ActiveRecord. But I'm wondering: If any one has any experience with it? Is it suitable for me? Should I consider any specific matter? What about its future?
