Thanks! This Code Golf challenge is about solving word searches! A word search, as defined by Wikipedia, is: A word search, word find, word seek, word sleuth or mystery word puzzle is a word game that is letters of a word in a grid, that usually has a rectangular or square shape. The objective of this puzzle is to find and mark all the words hidden inside the box. The words may be horizontally, vertically or diagonally. Often a list of the hidden words is provided, but more challenging puzzles may let the player figure them out. Many word search puzzles have a theme to which all the hidden words are related. The word searches for this challenge will all be rectangular grids with a list of words to find provided. The words can be written vertically, horizontally, or diagonally. Input/Output The user inputs their word search and then inputs a word to be found in their grid. These two inputs are passed to the function that you will be writing. It is up to you how you want to declare and handle these objects. Using a strategy described below or one of your own, the function finds the specific word in the search and outputs its starting coordinates (simply row number and column number) and ending coordinates. If you find two occurrences of the word, you must output both's set of coordinates. It is completely up to you to decide what strategy you want to use; it doesn't have to be in this list. Looking for the first letter of the word; on each occurrence, looking at the eight surrounding letters to see whether the next letter of the word is there. Same as above, except looking for a part of a word that has two of the same letter side-by-side. Counting how often each letter of the alphabet is present in the whole grid, then selecting one of the least-occurring letters from the word you have to find and searching for the letter. On each occurrence of the letter, you look at its eight surrounding letters to see whether the next and previous letters of the word is there.

• java - unwanted object overwriting

  Hello everyone! I'm trying to make a program that solves the logic wheels puzzle. I construct the root node and I try to produce the different child-nodes that are produced by making different moves of the wheels. The problem is that while I try to produce the children, the root node is overwrited,and everything is messed-up and I really don't know why. Here you can find the puzzle logic wheels. I represent the wheels as 3x3 arrays.   We have a windows application, it connects to a web service (XML web service hosted on a Windows 2008 Server IIS 7.5, no antivirus) and fetches some data to the client. But sometimes (around 5%-10% of the requests), it gives an error when trying to connect web service. This is a windows application which connects to a web service for process some data. There is not a query takes around 130 seconds on the database.

  I have a shell script that I use to monitor loading times and response codes on my live server cluster. It runs a total of 250 iterations every 5 minutes, distributed across 10 servers and 6 sites. It uses curl with the -w flag to return pertinent information which is then parsed by my shell script: curl -svw 'monitor_load_times %{time_total} %{http_code}' -b 'server=$server' -m 15 -o /dev/null $url 2>&1 This information is then parsed by a graphing script that can display a number of different responses. However, curl will occasionally return a response code of "000". When this happens, it seems to happen multiple times at once despite being distributed over many iterations: What I'm trying to work out is if this is a client-side issue that's skewing my results or if it's actually indicative of a server-side problem affecting my entire cluster. Does 000 mean that the connection was dropped? Database entries corresponding to curl iterations with that response code return "0.000" for the time_total value. All of the search results I've found for curl returning a code of 000 are related to HTTPS being unsupported, but all of my test URLs are HTTP. (The spike in 500 errors is a completely unrelated issue that affected my servers last night.)

• SQL Server 2008 Cluster Installation - First network name always fails

  I'm testing failover clustering in Windows Server 2008 to host a SQL Server 2008 installation using this installation guide. My base cluster is installed and working properly, as well as clustering the DTC service. However, when it comes time to install SQL Server, my first attempt at installation always fails with the same message and seems to "taint" the network name. For example, with my previous cluster attempt, I was installing SQL Server as VSQL. After approximately 15 attempts of installation and trying to resolve the errors, e.g. changing domain accounts for SQL, setting SPNs, etc., I typoed the network name as VQSL and the installation worked. Similarly on my current cluster, I tried installing with the SQL service named PROD-C1-DB and got the same errors as last time until I tried changing the name to anything else, e.g. PROD-C1-DB1, SQL, TEST, etc., at which point the install works. It will even install to VSQL now. While testing, my install routine was: Run setup.exe from patched media, selecting appropriate options After the install fails, I'd chose "Remove node from a SQL Server failover cluster" and remove the single, failed, node Attempt to diagnose problem, inspect event logs, etc. Delete the computer account that was created for the SQL Service from Active Directory Delete the MSSQL10.MSSQLSERVER folder from the shared data drive The error message I receive from the SQL Server installer is: The following error has occurred: The cluster resource 'SQL Server' could not be brought online. Error: The group or resource is not in the correct state to perform the requested operation.   I have an external SMTP provider: auth.smtp.1and1.co.uk I am trying to send SQL Server Reporting Services emails via this on an Windows 2012 Azure VM. It is configured sufficiently correctly for emails to be generated, but I've not configured something or mis-configured something as the emails then stay in the queue. Setup details Configured SMTP Virtual Server General: IP Address: Fixed value Access: Access Control: Authentication: ticked Anonymous access Access: Connection Control: All except the list below (which is empty) Access: relay restrictions: Only the list below (which contains 127.0.0.1), ticked 'allow all..' option Delivery: Outbound Security...:Basic Authentication with username and password completed, ticked TLS encryption Delivery: Outbound connections...:TCP port=587 Delivery: Advanced: FQDN=ServerName, smarthost=auth.smtp.1and1.co.uk I then set the following SSRS rsreportserver.config values: <SMTPServer>100.92.192.3</SMTPServer> <SendUsing>2</SendUsing> <SMTPServerPickupDirectory> c:\inetpub\mailroot\pickup </SMTPServerPickupDirectory> <From>[email protected]</From> Tried so far 1) turning the smtp service off and on again (just in case) 2) run SMTPDiag with no errors (also no emails) 3) tried turning off the firewall for the ports (and more generally to see if it made a difference) 4) tried generation from powershell which resulted with message in queue 5) added 25 and 857 as endpoint 6) perused the event log and found some warnings that appear to be about the recipient Message delivery to the remote domain 'gmail.com' failed for the following reason: Unable to bind to the destination server in DNS. Message delivery to the host '212.227.15.179' failed while delivering to the remote domain 'gmail.com' for the following reason: The remote server did not respond to a connection attempt. 7) tried pinging but this appears to be blocked on azure 8) tried more powershell sending on different domains variants (localhost, boxname, internal ip used in smtp properties, 127.0.0.1) - none resulting in success 9) tried adding a remote domain - no change Could anyone recommend what step 10 should be in fixing this issue please?

  QUESTIONs I'd like to know why I am getting Network error: 403 Forbidden in firebug for files that I am not trying to access? is it likely to cause any serious problems on the webserver? how to fix it. Why is my browser trying to access those files in the error message? DETAILS I’m using wampserver 2.2 to access a folder via the browser. The browser is on the same computer as the server. The computer is running windows 7 ultimate. When I view a web folder via my browser hXXp://localhost/folder I can see the folder contents ok but in firebug I get Network error: 403 Forbidden I’m not deliberately trying to access those files in the error msgs. You will notice they are in a completely different folder to the one I am looking at. • SSL / HTTP / No Response to Curl

  I am trying to send commands to a SOAP service, and getting nothing in reply. The SOAP service is at a completely separate site from either server I am testing with. I have written a dummy script with the SOAP XML embedded. When I run it at my local site, on any of three machines -- OSX, Ubuntu, or CentOS 5.3 -- it completes successfully with a good response. I then sent the script to our public host at Slicehost, where I fail to get the response back from the SOAP service. It accepts the TCP socket and proceeds with the SSL handshake. I do not however receive any valid HTTP response. This is the case whether I use my script or curl on the command line. I have rewritten the script using SOAP4R, Net::HTTP and Curb. All of which work at my local site, none of which work at the Slicehost site. I have tried to assemble the CentOS box as closely to match my Slicehost server as possible. I rebuilt the Slice to be a stock CentOS 5.3 and stock CentOS 5.4 with the same results. When I look at a tcpdump of the bad sessions on Slicehost, I see my script or curl send the XML to the remote server, and nothing comes back. When I look at the tcpdump at my local site, I see the response just fine. I have entirely disabled iptables on the Slice. Does anyone have any ideas what could be causing these results?   I so sick and tired of having my components pass the minimum requirements of a game and then I get 15 FPS on the game on everything low. Should't PC developers say 'use at least this video card for a smooth 30 FPS'? Here are my specs: Windows 7 2GB DDR2 RAM XFX Nvidia 9400gt Intel Pentium D Dual Core 2.8ghz I should be at LEAST getting 30 FPS on everything low right? Please tell me what I can do to make games run as they should, or is my video card not good for these games?   So I've tried the trick from Virtual PC 2007, adding the following section to the vmc configuration file: <components> <host_time_sync> <enabled type="boolean">false</enabled> </host_time_sync> </components> Later someone suggested VPC doesn't want the components level so added this instead: <host_time_sync> <enabled type="boolean">false</enabled> <frequency type="integer">15</frequency> <threshold type="integer">10</threshold> </host_time_sync> When I start up XP Mode (Microsoft Virtual PC) it completely ignores any of these two configuration changes and if I change the clock it's instantly reset to the host time again. I've also obviously disabled the Windows Time service but as it's not joined to a domain or set up with a source it shouldn't be involved anyway. I need to test an application over a few midnight passes and thought the XP Mode machine would be perfect, so I didn't have to mess with my workstation clock... is there any way to get the VPC guest to not sync time with the host? This is easy in Hyper-V ;p

I believe I use the Apache 'prefork' MPM (I run the default for FreeBSD). I use the default values for MaxClients (256) I have enabled mod_status, with "ExtendedStatus On". When I view /server-status , I see a handful of regular requests.   Yesterday I installed Fedora 15 Beta with GNOME 3 - it works well. One problem though is that I installed Chrome 32-bit (which was wrong, should have been the 64-bit version) and now I can't uninstall it. I can't find it in Add/Remove Software, and I also can't install the correct version of Chrome because it complains about my other copy of Chrome. Any ideas how I can remove the existing copy and get the 64-bit version installed? • Why isn't the scripts in my autoload folder being executed in Vim?

  I'm trying to use Pathogen to manage my Vim extensions. My bundle folder looks like this: .../bundle/ +-- vim-pathogen ¦   +-- autoload ¦   +-- pathogen.vim +-- vim-smoothscroll +-- autoload +-- smooth_scroll.vim And my vimrc file includes this: let s:root = fnamemodify(resolve(expand(":p")), ":h") " Initiate pathogen. exec "source " . s:root . "/vimfiles/bundle/vim-pathogen/autoload/pathogen.vim" exec pathogen#infect() My vimrc file is a symlink located in ~ but pointing to a folder inside my Dropbox folder. This appears to work when I start Vim. • Group policy waited for the network subsystem

  In an AD domain with Windows Server 2008 R2 DCs users are complaining about delays in the bootup process of the clients. The group policy log reveals that the client is waiting ~ 20-50 seconds for "the network subsystem": Event 5322, GroupPolicy Group policy waited for 29687 milliseconds for the network subsystem at computer boot. This appears to be domain-specific as machines joining a different domain from the same network do not experience any delays and Event 5322 reports <1000 ms wait times at startup. It happens on virtual and physical machines alike, so it does not look like a hardware- or driver-related issue. Further investigation has shown that the client is taking its time before issuing DHCP requests. In the network traces, I can see IPv6 router solicitations and multicast DNS name registrations as soon as the network driver is loaded and the network connection is reported "up" in the event log (e1cexpress/36). Yet, the DHCPv4 client service seems to take another 15-50 seconds to start (Dhcp-Client/50036), so the IPv4 address remains unconfigured for a while. The DHCP client's messages in the event log are succeeding the service start of the "Sophos Anti-Virus" service (Sophos AV 10.3 package), which I suspect to be the culprit - the DHCP client service dependencies include the TDI Support driver which might be what Sophos is using to intercept network traffic: Network Location Awareness seems to break at startup as a side-effect, I see that off-site DCs are contacted due to what seems like a race condition between the GP client and the DHCP client / NLA service startup. I could set the Group Policy Client service to depend on NLA, yet this still would not eliminate the delay. Also, I am not all that sure that this is a good idea. Is there a known resolution which would eliminate the startup delay?

• Xenserver 6.2 cannot send alert using gmail smtp

  I'm using Xenserver 6.2 and configured ssmtp.conf an mail_alert.conf in order to receive alerts through email. I followed the instructions on http://support.citrix.com/servlet/KbServlet/download/34969-102-706058/reference.pdf document. I'm using gmail smtp to send the emails. When i try: [root@xen /]# ssmtp [email protected] from the command line and try to send the email, no problem. It is right on the way. But when i set some VM to generate alerts, alerts are generated. I see in XenCenter but emailing is not working. I see this in /var/log/maillog file: May 27 16:17:09 xen sSMTP[30880]: Server didn't like our AUTH LOGIN (530 5.7.0 Must issue a STARTTLS command first. 18sm34990758wju.15 - gsmtp) From command line every thing works fine. • FTP timing out after login

  For some reasons I cant access any of my accounts on my dedicated server via FTP. It simply times out when it tried to display the directories. Heres a log from FileZila... I only have this problem when my server is reaching it peak usage which is still only 1.0 (4 cores), 40% of 4GB ram. The ftp connections isnt maxed out because only me and my colleague have access to FTP on the server.
