  • How to create a newsletter application?

    I'm required to create a newsletter php application that would send template emails to all subscribed to the system users. We're currently using PostgreSQL so PhpList will not work for us if it's not capable to work with PostgreSQL. What's the appropriate way of handling this task ? Also keep in mind that there will be big amounts of subscribers. Edit: I'm opened to java applications that could do the trick.. Thanks in advance.

    Hello, Suppose we have 3 apps - appMain, app1 and app2. Applications 1 and 2 are protected, they have is_secure: true and everything works fine with sfDoctrineGuard plugin. A behavior I want to achieve is when a user is not authenticated, current application to forward him to another one, say appMain with defined module and action. Is that possible? Or can someone tell me where to dig about security mechanisms in symfony?

    Basically, I'm trying to take information entered by the user on one page and print it out to another page via a "printer friendly" version, or report, of something. I have a MainPage.xaml that is, as the name suggests, my main page, but in a window there is the subpage AdCalculator.xaml where the user enters the information and PrintEstimate.xaml that is navigated to via a button on AdCalculator. I would like to be able to transfer the information entered in the textboxes from AdCalculator and print it out via text blocks in PrintEstimate. I know there are a lot of differences in the way C# code-behind is laid out for silverlight applications, so I didn't know if there was an equivalent that anyone knew about to "Application.OpenForms" that would help solve my issue or if there was any other way to go about getting my task done.     Hi, I am working in an ASP.NET mvc application. With regards to URL's I could see the Controller and action names in the address bar when user navigates between pages. Is there a way to hide them, such that the address bar always displays http://mywebsite.com without any action names or controller names suffixing them, or is there any other standard practices? Or is it ok to leave the URL as such which can contain action and controller suffixes?

    Hey guys I'm getting this weird error in my Zend application with this piece of code: $curl = curl_init(); curl_setopt($curl, CURLOPT_URL, 'www.xyz.com/ab.php'); curl_setopt($curl, CURLOPT_RETURNTRANSFER, 1); $data = curl_exec($curl); curl_close($curl); This is the error, I get: Fatal error: Uncaught exception 'Zend_Session_Exception' with message 'session has already been started by session.auto-start or session_start() When I remove that code everything works fine.
