In IE, The selector for multiple inputs is not working whereas in firefox it is.
Below is the html.
<td><label for="contactInfo.shippingAddress.streetAddress1" class="mandatoryText">Address Line 1<em class="reqdfields"></td>
City*
State
Zip / Postal Code
Country
and below is jquery used -
$("*[id^='contactInfo\\.shippingAddress']").val("");
Any thoughts as to where the problem might be..
There is jquery on the page my script is trying to access, and the code I am trying to execute runs fine in console.
However, when I use chrome.tabs.executeScript on that single tab, it says that $ is undefined.
How can I fix this?
Thanks for the help!
I am using jquery to find a first element having a class "error" applied to it using the below code

I know this exists out there, somewhere but I haven't found it in a few hours of searching. I simply have to load a clients external page into an IFRAME, but I want to use jquery ui to present the loading image while it's grabbing the external data.
Simple yes, but I've seen pieces of this not the whole thing.

I have the following code:
(function(jQuery){
jQuery.fn.timepicker = function(){
return this.each(function(){
jQuery(this).val("14:00");
});
};
})(jQuery);
Currently I invoke this function by the following code: $("#event_start_time").timepicker();
Where #event_start_time is the ID of an <input> field.
How can I invoke this code only when I click inside the text box?

Hi,
I am using jquery treeview with the control option to expand and collapse the branches. I would like to hide this if there is no branches which expand / collapse (i.e. no plus signs). Does anyone know of a way of doing this?
Thanks
jQuery:
$('.btn.options').click(function() {
$(this).toggleClass('options-on');
$("#options").slideToggle("fast");
});
... works great, but when I enclosed both the buttons and the panel in tag, the panel won't slide up/down anymore?
Thanks for your help!
I'm wondering if it's possible to use a wildcard to select multiple cookies. I'm using jquery to save various scroll position and would like to clear them out in one go. At the moment I clear them out individually as below
function clearScroll(elementID) {
if ($.cookie) {
$.cookie(elementID + '_scrollpos', 0);
}
}
What I'd like is a clear all something like below.
function clearAllScroll() {
if ($.cookie) {
$cookie([name$='_scrollpos'],0);
}
}
Is this possible?
Hi,
I want to change my asp.net form's Id ="aspnetForm" to custom name (I can't change it as its a child page and .NET would enforce 'aspnetForm' name.). I am trying to do this in Jquery .ready event but no luck. I am wondering now whether it's even possible to do that?
If not what are other possible ways..
Thanks!!
Can anyone see any reason why IE8 might not run this jQuery?
$("#slid").toggle(
function() {
$("#Silver").animate({top: "25px"}, 200);
},
function() {
$("#Silver").animate({top: "89px"}, 200);
}
);
It runs the first function but ignores the 2nd top: "89px" and ideas? Or a better way the same toggle effect can be achieveD?
I see that quite often in some Jquery plugins
$('#foo').myPlugin({
foo: 'bar',
bar: 'foo'
});
I'm talking about the {} in the .myPlugin() part. I see quite often anonymous functions like
.click(function(){
});
but the above syntax looks different
thanks for your help!

Hello all,
I add html to a page using JQuery's html() function. This works great on most browsers except IE6.
I can work round this by adding a click event etc but I want to fix the issue without extra tape!
Any ideas why this doesn't work on IE6?
$('#button_holder').html('<a href="#" onclick="run_activity_upload(); return false;" id="save_button">Upload</a>');
Thanks,
Abs
