  • Doctrine_Query update with float value

    - by YS-PRO
    I need to increment User's balance, so I do: Doctrine_Query::create()->from('User')->update('balance', 'balance + 0.15')->execute(); And I got an error "Unknown component alias 0". I think its because of 0.15 So how can I update (using DQL) balance without additional SELECT queries to User's table to fetch his balance, calculate new balance and do query like Doctrine_Query::create()->from('User')->update('balance', '?', $new_balance)->execute();

  • MySQL: automatic rollback on transaction failure

    - by praksant
    Is there any way to set MySQL to rollback any transaction on first error/warning automatically? Now if everything goes well, it commits, but on failure it leaves transaction open and on another start of transaction it commits incomplete changes from failed transaction. (I'm executing queries from php, but i don't want to check in php for failure, as it would make more calls between mysql server and webserver.) Thank you

  • dynamically embedding youtube videos with jquery

    - by danwoods
    Hello all, I'm trying to retrieve a listing of a user's youtube videos and embed them in a page using jQuery. My code looks something like this: $(document).ready(function() { //some variables var fl_obj_template = $('<object width="260" height="140">' + '<param name="movie" value=""></param>' + '<param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param>' + '<param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param>' + '<embed src="" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="260" height="140"></embed>' + '</object>'); var video_elm_arr = $('.video'); //hide videos until ready $('.video').addClass('hidden'); //pull video data from youtube $.ajax({ url: 'http://gdata.youtube.com/feeds/api/users/username/uploads?alt=json', dataType: 'jsonp', success: function(data) { $.each(data.feed.entry, function(i,item){ //only take the first 7 videos if(i > 6) return; //give the video element a flash object var cur_flash_obj = fl_obj_template; //assign title $(video_elm_arr[i]).find('.video_title').html(item.title.$t); //clean url var video_url = item.media$group.media$content[0].url; var index = video_url.indexOf("?"); if (index > 0) video_url = video_url.substring(0, index); //and asign it to the player's parameters $(cur_flash_obj).find('object param[name="movie"]').attr('value', video_url); $(cur_flash_obj).find('object embed').attr('src', video_url); //alert(cur_flash_obj); //insert flash object in video element $(video_elm_arr[i]).append(cur_flash_obj); //and show $(video_elm_arr[i]).removeClass('hidden'); }); } }); }); (of course with 'username' being the actual username). The video titles appear correctly but no videos show up. What gives? The target html looks like: <div id="top_row_center" class="video_center video"> <p class="video_title"></p> </div>

  • MongoDB: What's the point of using MapReduce without parallelism?

    - by netvope
    Quoting http://www.mongodb.org/display/DOCS/MapReduce#MapReduce-Parallelism As of right now, MapReduce jobs on a single mongod process are single threaded Without parallelism, what are the benefits of MapReduce compared to simpler or more traditional methods for queries and data aggregation? To avoid confusion: the question is NOT "what are the benefits of document-oriented DB over traditional relational DB"

  • What is Dispatcher Servlet in Spring?

    - by theband
    http://maestric.com/wiki/lib/exe/fetch.php?w=&h=&cache=cache&media=java:spring:spring_mvc.png In the above image, HTTP request sends something to Dispatcher Servlet. My Question is what does Dispatcher Servlet do. Is it something like getting the information thrown from the web page and throwing it to the controller.

  • Problem Executing Async Web Request

    - by davidhayes
    Hi Can anyone tell me what I've done wrong with this simple code? When I run it it hangs on using (Stream postStream = request.EndGetRequestStream(asynchronousResult)) If I comment out the requestState.Wait.WaitOne(); line the code executes correctly but obviously doesn't wait for the response. I'm guessing the the call to EndGetRequestStream is somehow returning me to the context of the main thread?? I'm pretty sure my code is essentially the same as the sample though (MSDN Documentation) using System; using System.Net; using System.Windows; using System.Windows.Controls; using System.Windows.Documents; using System.Windows.Ink; using System.Windows.Input; using System.Windows.Media; using System.Windows.Media.Animation; using System.Windows.Shapes; using System.IO; using System.Text; namespace SBRemoteClient { public class JSONClient { public string ExecuteJSONQuery(string url, string query) { System.Uri uri = new Uri(url); HttpWebRequest request = (HttpWebRequest)WebRequest.Create(uri); request.Method = "POST"; request.Accept = "application/json"; byte[] requestBytes = Encoding.UTF8.GetBytes(query); RequestState requestState = new RequestState(request, requestBytes); IAsyncResult resultRequest = request.BeginGetRequestStream(new AsyncCallback(GetRequestStreamCallback), requestState); requestState.Wait.WaitOne(); IAsyncResult resultResponse = (IAsyncResult)request.BeginGetResponse(new AsyncCallback(GetResponseStreamCallback), requestState); requestState.Wait.WaitOne(); return requestState.Response; } private static void GetRequestStreamCallback(IAsyncResult asynchronousResult) { try { RequestState requestState = (RequestState)asynchronousResult.AsyncState; HttpWebRequest request = requestState.Request; using (Stream postStream = request.EndGetRequestStream(asynchronousResult)) { postStream.Write(requestState.RequestBytes, 0, requestState.RequestBytes.Length); } requestState.Wait.Set(); } catch (Exception e) { Console.Out.WriteLine(e); } } private static void GetResponseStreamCallback(IAsyncResult asynchronousResult) { RequestState requestState = (RequestState)asynchronousResult.AsyncState; HttpWebRequest request = requestState.Request; using (HttpWebResponse response = (HttpWebResponse)request.EndGetResponse(asynchronousResult)) { using (Stream responseStream = response.GetResponseStream()) { using (StreamReader streamRead = new StreamReader(responseStream)) { requestState.Response = streamRead.ReadToEnd(); requestState.Wait.Set(); } } } } } }

  • Activity gets killed while executing the camera intent

    - by BlackRider
    In my app I call the system camera to take a picture, and then handle the result in onActivityResult. You know, the usual. It used to work, but now my calling activity gets killed while I'm taking the picture. Specifically, onDestroy() is called on my activity right after I press the camera shutter. The photo does get taken & saved (I've checked that the file gets written on the SD card). After I accept the photo, instead of returning to the calling activity and invoking onActivityResult, the previous activity in the activity stack gets called. I see no exceptions in the logcat. My custom exception handler doesn't get called. If it matters, my app also includes a service that listens to GPS updates, but I unregister all the receivers in onPause(). Here's the call stack for MyCallingActivity.onDestroy(): Thread [<1> main] (Suspended (breakpoint at line 303 in NewPlaceDetailsActivity)) NewPlaceDetailsActivity.onDestroy() line: 303 ActivityThread.performDestroyActivity(IBinder, boolean, int, boolean) line: 2663 ActivityThread.handleDestroyActivity(IBinder, boolean, int, boolean) line: 2694 ActivityThread.access$2100(ActivityThread, IBinder, boolean, int, boolean) line: 117 BinderProxy(ActivityThread$H).handleMessage(Message) line: 968 ActivityThread$H(Handler).dispatchMessage(Message) line: 99 Looper.loop() line: 130 ActivityThread.main(String[]) line: 3687 Method.invokeNative(Object, Object[], Class, Class[], Class, int, boolean) line: not available [native method] Method.invoke(Object, Object...) line: 507 ZygoteInit$MethodAndArgsCaller.run() line: 842 ZygoteInit.main(String[]) line: 600 NativeStart.main(String[]) line: not available [native method] This is how I start the camera activity, in case you're wondering: protected void startCamera() { createPhotoDirsIfNeeded(); String fileName = "temp.jpg"; ContentValues values = new ContentValues(); values.put(MediaStore.Images.Media.TITLE, fileName); m_capturedImageUri = getContentResolver().insert(MediaStore.Images.Media.EXTERNAL_CONTENT_URI, values); m_photoFileName = APP_PHOTO_PATH + "/" + DateFormat.format(DATE_FORMAT, Calendar.getInstance().getTime()) + ".jpg"; File picFile = new File(m_photoFileName); if(picFile.exists()) { picFile.delete(); } // start the camera activity Intent intent = new Intent(MediaStore.ACTION_IMAGE_CAPTURE); intent.putExtra(MediaStore.EXTRA_OUTPUT, Uri.fromFile(picFile)); startActivityForResult(intent, IntentHelper.REQUEST_TAKE_PHOTO); } How can I find out why does my activity get killed, AND removed from the stack instead of being created again?

  • Web based client for Amazon S3

    - by Dick Lebavo
    We are looking for a secure online solution to access our files stored on Amazon S3. We have about 3K files, mostly media and documents, that we need to make available to our employees on the move. We don't want to develop anything in-house if there is an existing solution. Please note that our employees are not technologically minded , so a simple web based upload/download GUI would work the best.

  • Splitting tables by field to optimize MySQL?

    - by AK
    Do splitting fields into multiple tables ever yield faster queries? Consider the following two scenarios: Table1 ----------- int PersonID text Value1 float Value2 or Table1 ----------- int PersonID text Value1 Table2 ----------- int PersonID float Value2 If Value1 and Value2 are always being displayed together, I imagine Table1 is always faster because the second schema would require two SELECT statements. But are there any situations where you would choose the second? If the number of records were expected to be really large?

  • Using a single xcode proj for iphone and ipad- can I use same push notification certificate ?

    - by Shweta
    Hi I am looking for extending my current iphone app for iPad-specific UI. For the same Apple has mentioned 3 ways, however I am using the method where a Single XCODE proj is used for having 2 targets- iphone & iPad. There are a few queries: two binaries will be created , which I can price differently for selling. Will they need 2 have different certificates from Apple ? My app has Push notifications. So will i require 2 different certificates ?

  • HTML Encoding with ASP.NET

    - by Corin
    I am currently html encoding all user entered text before inserting/updating a db table record. The problem is that on any subsequent updates, the previously encoded string is reencoded. This endless loop is starting to eat up alot of column space in my tables. I am using parameterized queries for all sql statements but am wondering would it be safe to just let the .NET Framework handle this part without the HTML Encoding?

  • What version of mongodb was full $text query operator introduced?

    - by Marc Maxson
    Stupid question, right? But the official docs for 'text index' say: http://docs.mongodb.org/manual/core/index-text/ Text Indexes New in version 2.4. To perform queries that access the text index, use the $text query operator. Whereas if you click on the help for searching the index you created with the $text operator, it reads: http://docs.mongodb.org/manual/reference/operator/query/text/#op._S_text $text New in version 2.6. Seems to be 2.4 but still having problems wiht it.

  • How do I get the CPU speed and total physical ram in C#?

    - by edude05
    I need a simple way of checking how much ram and fast the CPU of the host PC is. I tried WMI however the code I'm using private long getCPU() { ManagementClass mObject = new ManagementClass("Win32_Processor"); mObject.Get(); return (long)mObject.Properties["MaxClockSpeed"].Value; } Throws a null reference exception. Furthermore, WMI queries are a bit slow and I need to make a few to get all the specs. Is there a better way?
