  • Crystal Report displaying Group Header multiple times

    Hi I am using Crystal Reports 10 to generate my reports. In one of the reports I see that a group header is getting repeated 2 times in the output document while in the design tab I can that it is present only one time. I am having my query as a "Union All" of 2 data sets. Please advise what could be the cause. Thanks.

  • Stored procedure for selecting multiple records

    I need to select records say 2000 from a table with a matching timestamp from c# .net code. Eg: SELECT * FROM ITEMDATA_TABLE WHERE ITEMNAME='Item1' and TimeStamp='2010-04-26 17:15:05.667' The above query has to execute for 2000 items more for the same timestamp. for this we can use SELECT * FROM ITEMDATA_TABLE WHERE ITEMNAME in ('Item1','Item2','Item3','Item4',......) AND TimeStamp='2010-04-26 17:15:05.667' from SQL Server Management Studio. I have tried appending all Item names to one string variable and giving it as a parameter to the stored procedure,but it resulted into a wrong concatenation. How can I do this as a stored procedure executing from the .net code? Can anyone suggest me/correct me in doing this? Thanks & Regards Padma

    Using Javascript / jQuery, I'm trying to build a "combination checker" that will take the values of three (but can be more) dropdown lists and filter the options based on a supplied list of allowed combinations. For example: DROPDOWNS Field 1: - value_1 - value_2 Field 2: - value_3 Field 3: - value_4 - value_5 COMBINATIONS - value_1, value_3, value_5 - value_1, value_3, value_4 - value_2, value_3, value_5 When a user selects Field 3 - value_4, the unavailable options will be disabled - ie, Field 1 - value_2 (there is no combination that allows value_2 and value_4 to be selected together). It would be really great if someone could provide some pointers on how this can be achieved or just provide a fresh perspective - I'm going round in circles on this one!

    I want to setup table constraints for the following scenario and I’m not sure how to do it or if it’s even possible in SQL Server 2005. I have three tables A,B,C. C is a child of B. B will have a optional foreign key(may be null) referencing A. For performance reasons I also want table C to have the same foreign key reference to table A. The constraint on table C should be that C must reference its parent (B) and also have the same foreign key reference to A as its parent. Anyone have any thoughts on how to do this?

  • Selecting a sequence NEXTVAL for multiple rows

    I am building a SQL Server job to pull data from SQL Server into an Oracle database through a linked server. The table I need to populate has a sequence for the name ID, which is my primary key. I'm having trouble figuring out a way to do this simply, without some lengthy code. Here's what I have so far for the SELECT portion (some actual names obfuscated): SELECT (SELECT NEXTVAL FROM OPENQUERY(MYSERVER, 'SELECT ORCL.NAME_SEQNO.NEXTVAL FROM DUAL')), psn.BirthDate, psn.FirstName, psn.MiddleName, psn.LastName, c.REGION_CODE FROM Person psn LEFT JOIN MYSERVER..ORCL.COUNTRY c ON c.COUNTRY_CODE = psn.Country MYSERVER is the linked Oracle server, ORCL is obviously the schema. Person is a local table on the SQL Server database where the query is being executed. When I run this query, I get the same exact value for all records for the NEXTVAL. What I need is for it to generate a new value for each returned record.     Any time there is an update within my music community (song comment, artist update, new song added, yadda yadda yadda), a new row is inserted in my "updates" table. The row houses the artist id involved along with other information (what type of change, time and date, etc). My users have a "favorite artists" section where they can do just that -- mark artists as their favorites. As such, I'd like to create a new feature that shows the user the changes made to their various favorite artists. How should I be doing this efficiently? SELECT * FROM table_updates WHERE artist_id = 1 and artist_id = 500 and artist_id = 60032 Keep in mind, a user could have 43,000 of our artists marked as a favorite. Thoughts?

I would like to query such that I get the following result Id Reference DateAttribute1 DateAttribute2 2 MMM005 2012-06-13 2012-09-10 4 MMM006 2012-08-22 2012-09-11 I would like my result to be grouped by reference and then 'DateAttribute1' and then 'DateAttribute2' as such - DateAttribute1 has a priority over DateAttribute2 as you can see above in the result. How should I write my query to fetch the results in the above manner? Any solution?

    I need to calculate the difference between two dates (facility_start_date, facility_end_date) for a report in Reporting Services in SQL 2005. If the facility_end_date is null then it needs to use the report parameter @EndDate in the calculation. However if the facility_end_date is greater than the parameter @EndDate, then it also needs to use the paramenter @EndDate. The code below works fine except that if the facility_end_date is greater than the parameter @EndDate it is still calculating between the facility_start_date and facility_end_date, rather than between the facility_start_date and @EndDate. Any help would be appreciated. Then whatever resultant dataelemIDs from the above query should be matched with outputdataelemID of Transformdataelem table and we shud get the respective input dataelemId's. Again with these matched inputdataelemID's we shud get the dataelemname's from datelem table.

  • Limiting object allocation over multiple threads

    I have an application which retrieves and caches the results of a clients query. The client then requests different chunks of data and the application sends the relevant results and removes them from the cache. A new requirement for this application is that there needs to be a run-time configurable maximum number of results which may be cached. I've taken the naive approach and implemented this by using a counter under a lock which is incremented every time a result is cached and decremented whenever a result is removed from the cache. Unfortunately, this has drastically reduced the applications performance when processing a large number of concurrent requests. I have tried both a critical section lock and spin-lock; the performance improves a bit with a spin-lock, but is still unacceptably slow. Is there a better way to solve this problem which may improve performance? Right now I have a thread pool that services requests and each request is tied to a Request object which stores that cached results for that particular request.     Pretty much I want the query to select all records of users that are 25 years old AND are either between 150-170cm OR 190-200cm. I have this query written down below. However the problem is it keeps getting 25 year olds OR people who are 190-200cm instead of 25 year olds that are 150-170 OR 25 year olds that 190-200cm tall. So how do you implement many hasOne relationships in a single model? I assume the answer is in the cookbook, Im going over that area now, I suspect it has something to do with passing an array to $hasOne, but no example of doing this.

Why does it not advance to the next row? if I move the code: $this->listing = $result->fetch_array() or die('could not create object'); foreach ($this->listing as $key => $value) : $info[$key] = stripslashes(html_entity_decode($value)); endforeach; if I move this outside the class, it works exactly as expected outputting a row at a time while looping through the while statement. Is there a way to write this so that I can keep the fetch_array() call in the class and still loop through the records?

    I have 2 reports, "report1.rdlc" and "report2.rdlc" and I want to be able to swap betweent the 2 of them in a single report viewer ("rv_1"). I also have 3 buttons: btn_1 which does: rv_1.LocalReport.ReportEmbeddedResource = "Application1.Report1.rdlc" rv_1.RefreshReport() btn_2 which does: rv_1.LocalReport.ReportEmbeddedResource = "Application1.Report2.rdlc" rv_1.RefreshReport() btn_3 which does: dim rds as new ReportDataSource rds.name = rds.value = rv_1.reset() rv_1.LocalReport.DataSources.add(rds) rv_1.RefreshReport() Now no matter what I put for rds.name and rds.value it leaves me with "A data source instance has not been supplied for the data source 'dataSetName_TableName'. So my question is; what do I need to put there in order to get this to work correctly?

    This issue is related to running a Java program (jar) dependent on thirdparty jar library even after setting classpath and trying so many other methods by reading articles in Internet. I want to use a thirdparty Pack1.jar (it is not a part of jvm) as dependency of my programme. I do not know where the Pack1.jar file could be in the deployment machine and I want the deployer to specify the path for the thirdparty libraries I have tried the following alternatives in vain Setting the java.class.path programatically String class_path = args[0]; System.setProperty("java.class.path",class_path); Here I am assuming that deployer would supply the classpath as first argument while running the program Setting the CLASSPATH env_var to locate the thirdparty directory While running, using the classpath option java -classpath /path/to/Pack1.jar -jar Pack2.jar I think this would not work because documentation says that classpath is ignored when program is run with "java -jar" Setting the java.ext.dirs programatically. Setting the java.library.path programatically. I do not want to specify the Class-Path in manifest because that takes only relative path and I do not know where the thirdparty library would be kept in deployment machine But I am unable to get the jar running. How can I fix this problem any help please.

    Here's the issue: I have a list of App names that I want to launch. They do not include a path (e.g. {"VLC","Microsoft Word"}. I have two different copies of VLC in different directories. I would like Launch Services to ONLY open the one from /Applications/ and not EVER launch from /Applications/AnotherDirectory I want to get the path of these, and test to see what Launch Services wants to launch (via bash with "open" or applescript via "tell _ to launch" or [NSWorkspace launch...]) The only way that I have come up with to test the path of a file about to be launched by launch services is: Applescript: tell application "Finder" to return the (posix path of (path to application "VLC" as alias)) That works fine, but launches the app (which I don't want at all). Suggestions?
