  • Possible to capture all events in a web browser?

    - by David
    I am working on a pet project and am at the research stage. Quick summary I am trying to intercept all form submits, onclick, and every single keydown. My library of choice is either jquery, or jquery + prototypejs. I figure I can batch up the events into a queue/stack and send it back to the server in time interval batches to keep performance relatively stable. Concerns Form submits and change's would be relatively simple.. Something like $("form :inputs").bind("change", function() { ... record event... }); But how to ensure I get precedence over the applications handlers as I have a habit of putting return false on a lot of my form handlers when there is a validation issue. As I understand it, that effectively stops the event in its tracks. My project For my smaller remote clients I will put their products onto a VPS or run it in my home data center. Currently I use a basic authentication system, given a username/password they see the website and then hopefully send me somewhat sane notes on what is broken or should be tweaked. As a better solution, I've written a simple proxy web server that does the above but allows me to have one DNS entry and then depending on credentials it makes an internal request relaying headers and re-writing URLS as needed. Every single html/text or application/* request is compressed and shoved into a sqlite table so I can partially replay what they've done. Now I am shifting to the frontend and would like to capture clicks, keydown's, and submits on everything on the page.

  • How can I ceil the height of a div that has "display: table-cell"?

    - by eric01
    I am trying to vertically center a div inside another div, regardless of the size of both div's I am doing this: <div id='outer_div'> <div id='inner_div'></div> </div> The CSS is #outer_div { display: table-row; height: 200px; width: 200px } #inner_div { display: table-cell; vertical-align: middle; height: 500px; width: 500px } I put larger dimensions for the inner div on purpose. What happens is that even if I put a width of 1000px, the width of the innerdiv is ceiled at 200px because of the outer div's width (and this is what I want) But for the height, it is not ceiled and I would like it to be ceiled to the height of the outer div. What i want is the innerdiv to remain at the same size as the outer_div, no matter what height I give to outer_div in CSS. I basically want it to be the same size as its parent. EDIT: I only put text inside those div's. So let's say I have an outer div of 200px*200px (it has display: table-row), and the inner div is defined by css as 500px*500px and it has dummy text inside. My expected result is to have the inner div shrunk down to 200px*200px. It is successfully 'shrunk' by the outer div for the width, but NOT for the height. What I want is to have it shrunk on the height as well (so the inner div ajusts automatically in case I change the height of the outer div) How do I go about that?

  • Stop image from tiling

    - by Glen Morse
    I have a procedure: procedure DrawSolidHexImage(Target: TCanvas; { Canvas to draw hex on } Fillstyle : TBrushStyle; { How to fill the hex } Fillcolor : TColor; { Color to fill it } fillimage : Tbitmap; { Image to show} Linestyle : TPenStyle; { What kind of lines } LineColor : Tcolor; { What color for lines } x,y,radius: integer; { Position and size of Hex } button : boolean); { Make hexes look like buttons? } When I use this, the image is tiled to fill the area. Is there something I can add or must remove to make it not tile? Thus not repeating the image. Maybe make it center? The Code in which I use DrawSolidHexImage looks like: procedure THexMap.ImageAHex(ImageWanted : TBitmap; HexPatternWanted: TBrushStyle; MapLocation:TPoint); var p0:TPoint; begin if FHexMapOn and FDrawSolidMap and (not UseSavedMap) then begin with TempMap.canvas do p0 := ConvertCoords(Point(MapLocation.x,MapLocation.y),ptROWCOL); DrawSolidHexImage(TempMap.Canvas,HexPatternWanted,clGray, Imagewanted,psSolid,LineColor,p0.x,p0.y,hexradius,hex3d); Refresh; end; end;

  • Reorganizing development environment for single developer/small shop

    - by Matthew
    I have been developing for my company for approximately three years. We serve up a web portal using Microsoft .NET and MS SQL Server on DotNetNuke. I am going to leave my job full time at the end of April. I am leaving on good terms, and I really care about this company and the state of the web project. Because I haven't worked in a team environment in a long time, I have probably lost touch with what 'real' setups look like. When I leave, I predict the company will either find another developer to take over, or at least have developers work on a contractual basis. Because I have not worked with other developers, I am very concerned with leaving the company (and the developer they hire) with a jumbled mess. I'd like to believe I am a good developer and everything makes sense, but I have no way to tell. My question, is how do I set up the development environment, so the company and the next developer will have little trouble getting started? What would you as a developer like in place before working on a project you've never worked on? Here's some relevant information: There is a development server onsite and a production server offsite in a data center . There is a server where backups and source code (Sourcegear Vault) are stored. There is no formal documentation but there are comments in the code. The company budget is tight so free suggestions will help the best. I will be around after the end of April on a consulting basis so I can ask simple questions but I will not be available full time to train someone

  • My ifelse statement's result depends on the actions for true/false?

    - by Antal
    Currently I am building a route for a truck to drive inside my netlogo-land. When the truck is next to the shop-patch where it should deliver, the truck needs to change its actions. However my if or ifelse statement does not seem to respond well and the answer depends on the output. With some tests: turtles ifelse ((patch (first dirx) (first diry)) = one-of neighbors4) [write "11"] [write "22"] "11" turtles ifelse ((patch (first dirx) (first diry)) = one-of neighbors4) [write "111"] [write "122"] "122" turtles ifelse (patch (first dirx) (first diry)) = one-of neighbors4 [write "111"] [write "122"] "122" turtles ifelse (patch (first dirx) (first diry)) = one-of neighbors4 [write "11"] [write "12"] "12" turtles ifelse (patch (first dirx) (first diry)) = one-of neighbors4 [write "11"] [write "22"] "11" Please note that during this time I do not move my truck, I use the command center to ask these questions (from turtle truck perspective). I am very confused about this. As the only thing I change is the action (what to write). This should not impact the true/false statement itself. Does anybody have any clue what is going on here and why the ifelse responds strange?

  • how do I call a javacript function every 60 seconds?

    - by William
    So I'm trying to work on a Canvas demo, and I want this square to move from one side to the other, but I can't figure out how to call javascript in a way that repeats every 60 seconds. Here's what I got so far: <!DOCTYPE html> <html lang="en"> <head> <title>Canvas test</title> <meta charset="utf-8" /> <link href="/bms/style.css" rel="stylesheet" /> <style> body { text-align: center; background-color: #000000;} canvas{ background-color: #ffffff;} </style> <script type="text/javascript"> var x = 50; var y = 250; function update(){ draw(); x = x + 5; } function draw(){ var canvas = document.getElementById('screen1'); if (canvas.getContext){ var ctx = canvas.getContext('2d'); ctx.fillStyle = 'rgb(236,138,68)'; ctx.fillRect(x,y,24,24); } } </script> </head> <body onLoad="setTimeout(update(), 0);"> <canvas id="screen1" width="500" height="500"></canvas> </body> </html>

  • Why might a silverlight ListBox on Windows Phone not allow me scroll all the way down to the bottom?

    - by Byron Sommardahl
    I have a ListBox in a grid that gets databound when the page loads... pretty straightforward. The problem I'm having is that, after the box is databound, I can scroll... but not all the way to the bottom of the list. It stops an item or two short and won't let me scroll anymore. Here's the listbox XAML: <Grid x:Name="ContentGrid" Grid.Row="2"> <ListBox x:Name="lbFeed" ItemsSource="{Binding Items}" SelectionChanged="lbFeed_SelectionChanged" VerticalAlignment="Top" Width="480"> <ListBox.ItemTemplate> <DataTemplate x:Key="MyDataTemplate"> <StackPanel Orientation="Vertical" Width="430"> <TextBlock Text="Some text" TextAlignment="Center" /> </StackPanel> </DataTemplate> </ListBox.ItemTemplate> </ListBox> </Grid> I can post more code, but I'm still getting my feet wet in XAML and I'm not sure what might be causing this. If you need more context, let me know and I'll add it here.

  • Where is rebol fill-pen documented (to get glow effect on a round rectangle) ?

    There is some discussion here about fill-pen http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/msg02019.html But I can't see documentation about cubic, diamond, etc... effect for fill-pen in rebol's official doc ? I'm trying to draw some round rectangle with glowing effect but don't really understand the parameters I'm playing with so I can't get exactly what I'd like (I'd like the glow effect starting from the center not from the dark left top corner): view layout [ box 278x185 effect [ ; default box face size is 100x100 draw [ anti-alias on ; information for the next draw element (not required) line-width 2.5 ; number of pixels in width of the border pen black ; color of the edge of the next draw element ; fill pen is a little complex: ;fill-pen 10x10 0 90 0 1 1 0.0.0 255.0.0 255.0.255 fill-pen radial 20x20 5 55 5 5 10 0.0.0 55.0.5 55.0.5 ; the draw element box ; another box drawn as an effect 15 ; size of rounding in pixels 0x0 ; upper left corner 278x170 ; lower right corner ] ] ]

  • Paragraph with normal opacity within greyed-out div

    - by dmr
    I am greying out a web page when a user doesn't have permission to access it. In order to do that, I am placing a div with background-color white and a lowered opacity on top of the web page. I want to write some words in that div with the words having a normal opacity. As of now, the greyed out background is showing correctly. However, I can't seem to get the words to be a regular opacity. The derived styles on Firebug show the opacity on the words as normal, but it clearly isn't. What am I doing wrong? The HTML: <div class="noPermission"> <p>I'm sorry. You do not have permission to access this page.</p> </div> The CSS: div.noPermission { background-color: white; filter:alpha(opacity=50); /* IE */ opacity: 0.5; /* Safari, Opera */ -moz-opacity:0.50; /* FireFox */ z-index: 20; height: 100%; width: 100%; background-repeat:no-repeat; background-position:center; position:absolute; top: 0px; left: 0px; } div.noPermission p{ color: black; margin: 300px auto auto 50px; text-align: left; font-weight: bold; font-size: 18px; display: block; width: 250px; }

  • Force windows video driver reload. Is it possible at all?

    - by somemorebytes
    Hi there, Some drivers use parameters written in the registry to configure themselves when they get loaded at boot time. I can modify those values and then reboot, but I would like to know if it is possible to force the driver reload, making the changes effective without rebooting. Specifically, I am talking about the video driver (nvidia). I read somewhere, that calling through pINvoke() [User32.ll]::ChangeDisplaySettings() with a 640x480x8bits resolution,(which is so low that it should not be supported by a modern driver) will force windows to load the "Standard VGA driver", and making another call with the current resolution will load the nvidia driver again. This does not work though. At least in Windows 7, even if the low res is not displayed as "supported" the system reduces the screen to a little square in the center of the screen, showing the low res wihtout unloading the nvidia driver. So, is there any .NET/Win32 API, service to restart, or any way at all to force a video driver reload? Perhaps programatically disabling the device (as you could do from the Device Manager) and reenabling it again? Any idea? Thanks a lot.

    - by Sam Gabriel
    Hey guys I set up this CSS file to use on the navbar: #nav { background-color: #98bf21; } #nav li { float:left; } #nav li ul{ position: absolute; width: 172px; left: -999em; } #nav li:hover ul{ left: auto; } #nav a:link,a:visited { display:block; width:164px; font-weight:bold; color:white; background-color:#98bf21; text-align:center; padding:4px; text-decoration:none; text-transform:uppercase; } #nav a:hover,a:active { background-color: #7A991A; } And it seems to be affecting all the elements. For example all elements take the styles if the #nav a styles. Is there something I'm missing here? I'm new to web design.

  • increase number of photos from flickr using json

    - by Andrew Welch
    Hi this is my code: Is is possible to get more photos from flickr. What is the standard / default number? $(document).ready(function(){ $.getJSON("http://api.flickr.com/services/feeds/photos_public.gne?id=48719970@N07&lang=en-us&format=json&jsoncallback=?", function(data){ $.each(data.items, function(i, item){ var newurl = 'url(' + item.media.m + ')'; $("<div class='images'/>").css('background', newurl).css('backgroundPosition','top center').css('backgroundRepeat','no-repeat').appendTo("#images").wrap("<a target=\"_blank\ href='" + item.link + "'></a>"); }) $("#title").html(data.title); $("#description").html(data.description); $("#link").html("<a href='" + data.link + "' target=\"_blank\">Visit the Viget Inspiration Pool!</a>"); //Notice that the object here is "data" because that information sits outside of "items" in the JSON feed $('.jcycleimagecarousel').cycle({ fx: 'fade', speed: 300, timeout: 3000, next: '#next', prev: '#prev', pause: 1, random: 1 }); }); });

  • Looping through my table, how do I know if the checkbox is checked?

    - by radbyx
    How I build my table: for (var i = 0; i < result.length; i++) { var item = result[i]; // Firma, BygningselementNavn, BrugerNavn, EmailAdresse, Telefon tbody = tbody + '<tr class="modtagerRow"><td>' + item.FirmaNavn + '</td>' + '<td>' + item.BygningselementNavn + '</td>' + '<td>' + item.BrugerNavn + '</td>' + '<td>' + item.EmailAdresse + '</td>' + '<td>' + item.Telefon + '</td>' // Medtag tbody = tbody + '<td style="text-align:center"><input type="checkbox" value="' + item.BygningselementId + '_' + item.BrugerId + '" name="BygningsElementBrugerComboIds"></td>' + '</tr>'; } $('#ModtagereTable tbody').append(tbody) How I am trying to loop through the rows and adding a CSS class to rows that has it's checkbox checked. 1) I get the indexies to the console, but I can't make the if condition for all the checked checkboxes. 2) Also I am not sure if I can you $( this ) or I should use something else, when adding the class .hideForSendMailConfirm? // Looping rows in table $( ".modtagerRow" ).each(function(index, element) { console.log('index: ' + index); // if if (element.checked) { $( this ).addClass(".hideForSendMailConfirm"); } });

  • Hosting images from unsecured servers (travelnow.com)

    - by i.am.not.aids
    Hi, My application needs to serve images hosted in travelnow.com (ie. this image) but the application only allow images hosted on a secured server (ie. https). What are my options? TravelNow's suggestion is as follows. How do I do this? Akamai image servers are not secure. Therefore you are unable to serve any of the image urls with a secure HTTPS URL. If you need to serve an image with HTTPS, you must temporarily save the image to your own secure server. This is suggested only for images to be saved as you use them or need them temporarily on the secure page. The hotel images file available from the Affiliate Center provides up to 1.5 million URLs at any time for all properties storing images in the Akamai system. It is not recommended or advised to store all files in advance on your own system since properties change and update images frequently. Although we are not responsible for the images each property stores on the Akamai system, YOU will be responsible for any customer issues arising from displaying outdated or saved image files on your own pages. Thanks! Adrian

  • In Powerpoint 2007, how can I position a Callout's Tail programatically?

    - by Rorschach
    I'm looking at the XML and this is what it has for the Callout object's coordinates and geometry: <p:spPr> <a:xfrm> <a:off x="2819400" y="5181600"/> // X,Y Position of Callout Box <a:ext cx="609600" cy="457200"/> // Width,Height of Callout Box </a:xfrm> <a:prstGeom prst="wedgeRectCallout"> <a:avLst> <a:gd name="adj1" fmla="val 257853"/> // X Position Of Tail <a:gd name="adj2" fmla="val -532360"/> // Y Position of Tail </a:avLst> </a:prstGeom> <a:solidFill> <a:schemeClr val="accent1"> <a:alpha val="50000"/> </a:schemeClr> </a:solidFill> </p:spPr> What I'm having trouble with is the formula for telling it to place the tail at a particular coordinate on the slide. I've tried this to calculate it, but it does not work correctly. //This gives me the distance between the Coordinate and the Center of the Callout. DistanceX = Coordinate.X - (Callout.X + Callout.X_Ext)/2 DistanceY = Coordinate.Y - (Callout.Y + Callout.Y_Ext)/2 But, the geometric value is not the distance between the two points. Anybody know what the formula is for calculating this?

  • Dojo StackContainer children are not resizing on browser maximise/restore

    - by Andy
    Hi. I have the following nested layout in a dojo 1.4 app: BorderContainer 1 -- Stack Container 1 ----BorderContainer 2 ----BorderContainer 3 The StackContainer is sized with width and height 100%. When I resize the browser window using maximise/restore, the StackContainer correctly resizes to the center region of it's parent BorderContainer. The problem I have is that the StackContainer children (BorderContainer 2 and 3) do not get resized to the StackContainer's contentBox. Is there something special you have to do to force a resize of StackContainer children? I have tried calling StackContainer1.resize() but this makes no difference. Thanks in advance. Additional information: Thanks for the reply peller. The widget hierachy that contains the StackContainer is actually a custom widget, so the StackContainer is not actually in a BorderContainer directly, but has its height and width explicitly set to 100%. This works and the StackContainer is resized correctly on browser maximise. The direct children of the stackcontainer are BorderContainers and it is these BorderContainers that do not get resized when the StackContainer is resized. One point to note is that when the StackContainer is created in markup, the stackcontainer children are empty divs. These divs are then used as placeholders for custom widget creation, e.g. var widget = new com.company.widget(params, placeholderDiv); where placeholderDiv is a direct child of the StackContainer in markup. Should I be adding the programatically created 'widget' to the stackcontainer using addChild instead?
