• Chrome extensions: Content script (jQuery) in Youtube does not work properly

  I have this: $(document).ready(function() { $("button.yt-uix-expander-arrow").attr("id", "yt-uix-expander-arrow"); $("#yt-uix-expander-arrow").mouseover(function() { alert("Hello"); }); }); injected into Youtube. Using right click inspect element, the <button class="yt-uix-expander-arrow"> has a id="yt-uix-expander-arrow" attribute successfully added to it. However the mouseover event does not trigger. However if I were to change $("#yt-uix-expander-arrow").mouseover() to $(".yt-uix-expander-arrow").mouseover() it works. That's very unusual, because the #yt-uix-expander-arrow id has already been added to the button element. I tested it out on Facebook, adding a id to a class and doing a mouseover() event on the ID and it works. Any idea?

• How to debug .net error where message is masked in Ajax call

  Hi, I'm currently working on a page which makes use of the MS Ajax UpdatePanel. However I've run into a strange problem. If I simply compile and view my page, one of the button click events results in an error. However, because the button affects items inside an UpdatePanel the actual exception is hidden from me: all I'm getting is a HTTP 500 error returned to me through the UpdatePanel Javascript. What's odd about this is that if I step through the code line by line in Visual Studio, I don't get the error. The button doesn't cause the behaviour I'm expecting, but it throws no errors. Because the step through isn't causing an error to be thrown, I'm at a loss how I can get to the actual exception message so I can find out where the error is being thrown and debug it. Suggestions gratefully received. Cheers, Matt

  I've got a simple question but it has got me confounded. The code below gets an UNDEFINED error for UIControlTouchUpInside. What do I need to include or import? If I comment out the line, it works. So that means forState:UIControlStateNormal is defined. I'm new so hope you can help.   Hello all: I'm an iPhone developer, but new to web development. I've done some basic HTML websites and made one in iWeb as well. I'm trying to branch out to actual mobile development now, so I checked out Dashcode. Anyway, I'm trying to put a Call Button, Mail Button, and Map Button in horizontal alignment. • Hide Soft Keyboard Not Working ...

  I'm developing on the Droid Incredible (and have tested on a 1.5 AVD Emulator as well), and one of the tabs in my tab widget consists of a listview and a row with an EditText and a Send button (for a chat feature). I am using the following to close the soft keyboard once I click Send, but it's not working. This is identical to code I've found elsewhere that people have upvoted as correct.   hi, i'm coding a little app for controlling soulseek - what i want do is clicking the "Search Files" button by code. i've got the handle to the tabbed control (SysTabControl32) and managed to change the tab with following code: rc1 = SendMessage(hwnd, TCM_SETCURFOCUS, ByVal 0, ByVal 0&) the problem: the tab control is changing to the proper button, but nothing happens. i assume i also also have to send a mouseclick to it, as when clicking by mouse, the button goes down and up again. any ideas how to do this? thx

• jQuery - Trigger click event on links with spacebar?

  It looks like in most browsers, an <input type="submit"> treats both [spacebar] and [enter] as a click, but an <a> link only treats [enter] as a click. My app uses a number of links formatted to simulate buttons, so a user that is accustomed to tabbing to a button and pressing [spacebar] will be frustrated. This bit of jQuery solves the problem: $("a.Button").die("keypress").live("keypress", function(e) { if (e.which == 32) { $(this).trigger("click"); e.preventDefault(); } }); My question: Is this a reason not to do this? I'm a little reluctant to override the browser's default behavior on something as basic as this, but since I'm already abusing the link tag to make it look like a button, at least this way I'm not violating the user's expectations any further.

• Capture reload/endrequest event after server redirect to download file

  Inside a webpage I have an Excel download button, which redirects to a webpage that serves the requested Excel file via the application/ms-excel MIME type, which usually results in a file download in the browser. In the webpage, I have the following jQuery code: $(document).ready(function () { $(".div-export .button").click(function () { setBusy(true); }); Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManager.getInstance().add_endRequest(function () { setBusy(false); }); }); Which displays a busy animation while the user waits for the Excel file to be served. Problem is: The animation doesn't end (setBusy(false);) after the file download, because the endRequest event doesn't get fired, probably because of the server redirect. Does anyone have a workaround for this? Edit: The download button is handled in an UpdatePanel.

  Hi, I have a page with 10 different div contents in it. Based on my button click i want the 11th div to load content or just take a copy of div 1 to 10. I mean like on button1 it should load div 1 and on button 2 i will load div 2 etc. All my div 1 to 10 will be hidden and the 11th div alone will be visible. I need this because of my below hierarchy. - Main Page (having the 10 div) ->inner div which is loaded by a ajax request.(this has 11th div and buttons) Now on click of any button like 1 to 10 its respective divs is supposed to be loaded from the div in the main page. I would like to do this by java script or jquery. Please let me know any possibilities. Any kind of suggestions or solutions is appreciated.

The farthest I've gotten is knowing it involves Win32 Hooking and that there's this open source project called EasyHook that's supposed to allow me to do this. I'd like to know how I can get the text from a textbox or some other data from a control in a third-party Win32 application. The text/data in a control is to be captured from the external application's running window the moment the user presses a button. I guess the question can be summed up as follows: How do you determine the event to hook to when the user clicks a certain button? How do you get the value displayed by a Win32 control at the time the button is clicked?

  Hi, I have a modal popup extender which is triggered by gridview onRowCommand. The gridview and the modal popup extender is in different updatePanel. The panel which assigned to PopupControlID of the mpe contains a textbox and a button. This button will triggered a page method web service that will return a value to be assigned to the textbox. My problem is when I click the button, after partial post back, the mpe disapper (hide). I tried everything to make it show. • Best way to create preview functionality in Rails

  Hi all, I'm looking to implement preview functionality in my posts scaffold. All I need to do is allow a user to enter information in the new view (/posts/new) and then replace the submit button with a preview button. Once the preview button is clicked, the user is routed to the preview page (probably /posts/new/preview). If the user wants to make a change they would click 'go back' or if they are happy with the post they can then submit the post.   Hello, I created a rounded box/button and sliced its first corner, the middle bar (which repeats horizontally to adjust the width of the button text/content) and the last corner and used following markup: <div id="left-corner"></div> <div id="middle-bar">About Us</div> <div id="right-corner"></div> These divs have corresponding images from CSS and are floated left. Those three divs create a single rounded button wiht text About Us which is fine. Problem: I have also created similar three slices of hover images but I wonder how to apply hover to those buttons because if I use :hover with these hovered slices, then even hovering on corner images also creates hovering effect. One alternative is to use fixed width buttons and slice buttons completely but I do not want to do that.

It’s currently ordered Search Button ‘Search this site’ Search Input but the designs I have want it to be Search Input ‘Search this site’ Search Button How do I go around changing the order in Drupal? I can change the search-block-form.tpl.php so the submit button is at the end but the ‘Search this site’ always appears before the input and I would like it after. I hope that makes sense. • jConfirm and onbeforeunload

When I add jConfirm after "return" it works...for a second. it pops the warning and then the page refreshes and the dialog box goes away. Does anyone know how to fix this?

• How to assume/steal another process's windows as my own?

  I'd like to show another app's windows under my app's taskbar button. It's a background app that reports another process's windows as my app's own. Is there any universal way to do this, e.g. each "new" window, alert glow, progressmeter, and other taskbar features, show under my own app's button? For example, Winfox runs under its own process and steals Firefox's windows. It also adds features, but that's irrelevant -- I just want to support another app's existing taskbar features under my own app's button -- multiple windows, progressmeter, alert flashing, error flashing, mini-icons, etc. Is there a near-universal way to steal an app, or is it largely app-specific? • Prevent status bar from receiving touch events

  Edit After further testing, it appears that the part of my button that are not clickable are where the status bar used to be. I'm hiding the status bar with : // -- Override point for customization after app launch [[UIApplication sharedApplication] setStatusBarHidden:YES]; But it's still receiving touches. Any idea on how to disable this? Is there's a bounding box on an application that receives touch events? I created a few sample round rect buttons and placed them in different places in my view. The ones in the center of the view receive touch events (and show the highlighted blue color) but if I place a button near the edges of the view, only parts of them are clickable in the simulator. Is this because of Apples style guidelines? I placed a button exactly where a UITabNavigationItem would appear and only the bottom half of it is clickable.

But when I use the custom class in my nib and launch the app, the button initially displays for a split second as tiny with small text, then grows. So the outcome is what I want, but I don't want to see the transition. Can anyone put me right? Thanks. JP
