• Android back button does not restart activity?

  My app intiates an activity. On the click of a button, the app opens up the browser with a webpage. When I hit the back button, it comes back to my initial activity screen, but does not resume or restart the activity. When I put all the layout code and activity code in onResume instead of onCreate, the activity gets restarted. My question is whether this is the right way to go about it? Can I use onResume to draw my layout and initiate the activity, or is this poor design? When the browser fires up, does the initial activity forget its layout? Please let me know what you suggest. • PHP Convert C# Hex Blob Hexadecimal String back to Byte Array prior to decryption

  I have a piece of data that I am receiving in hexadecimal string format, example: "65E0C8DEB69EA114567954". It was made this way in C# by converting a byte array to a hexadecimal string. However, I am using PHP to read this string and need to temporarily convert this back to the byte array. If it matters, I will be decrypting this byte array, then reconverting it to unencrypted hexadecimal and or plaintext, but I will figure that out later. So the question is, how do I convert a string like the above back to an encoded byte array/ blob in PHP? Thanks!

  Hello, I am trying to use jquery to do a client side validation to do a check and return with a error or success. I know how to echo text/html back as the response, but here's what I am trying to do. On Error, send back a message, so the user can re-submit a form. On Success, re-load the page. I am not sure how to get it to send a variable which I think will let me do either condition in jquery. Any suggestions??

  Hi, I work in team which uses Work flow management tool. I was presented with a challenge where the user should be able to roll back the changes made anytime during the flow to a certain point in the past. Surely the toll can handle it but the additional database calls that may have made during these activities have to be manually rolled back. the challenge is that there are multiple parallel paths and there different permutations of external database calls. So is there a frame work or a way to keep track of these DB calls and rollback them?. thank you, Justin

• internet explorer 7 iframe unloads when going back

  Hi this is my first post here, so please be kind ;-) i'm implementing a browser history manager, just like rsh or yui browser history manager. The idea was not to constantly poll the url hash of a hidden iframe, but to capture the onscroll event of an iframe, when it scrolls to an anchor name on an urlhashchange. So on every click i add an new anchor to iframe and set the iframe's hash to the anchors name. When pressing the back or forward button the frame scrolls to the previous or next anchor and the onscroll event is fired. That works great on firefox 3.0+, IE6 and Opera but on IE7 when hiting the back button the frame unloads and loses all its anchors. • subversion merge back to trunk

  I set up a branch several weeks ago. When some changes were made to the trunk, SVN was committing to the branch, and not the trunk. The changes were minor and applicable to the branch anyway, so I assumed this is how the branch should work. Now that the branch work is finished, I merged back the branch back to my working trunk, assuming SVN would replace the old trunk with the new branch in the repository as well. That is not the case though. My repository trunk is out of date. I would like to make the repository trunk be same as the branch and then delete the branch. How can I do this? I already have jQuery and asp.net ajax included in my project but I am not sure which implementation of history.back is better. Better for me is: Already used by some large projects Wide browser support Easy to implement Little footprint Does anybody know which one is better? EDIT: Another jquery plugin is http://plugins.jquery.com/project/history It is recommmended in the book JQuery Cookbook. This one worked well so far.

  My application supports twitter and needs to open browser for OAuth. When the user clicks the Share on Twitter button, the main activity will create another subactivity (TwitterActivity) to handle twitter authentication issues. Here is a flow graph showing how activities are invoked currently. Main is short for MainActivity and Twit for TwitterActivity. startActivity() OAuth intent OAuth callback finish() Main ---------------> Twit ------------> Browser --------------> Twit --------> Browser As you may notice, after the TwitterActivity calls finish() to stop, it will now return back to MainActivity, but Browser instead. How can I make it return back to MainActivity? Many thanks

  i have this controller(visits.php) that use 3 models to build page, then it pass 4 vars to a view. this view contain a form that submit to another page (add_user.php) my question is how can i send the user back to visits.php in case the for_validation is false ? do i have to reload visits.php allover again ?-waste of resourss- or i should just send him back in history with js or php header for example ? can u plz show me an example of how u best handle false result of form_validation ?   Ive made an address book. I can currently write to the arraylist and save it back to the .buab file, but I cant delete from the arraylist and export it back to the .buab file? Im pretty much stuck on this. Im able to retrive contacts from the .buab and scroll through them using the JTextFields and buttons ive created. Any help will be dearly appreciated.   hi i have a page filling a gridview which is all working fine. the grid is basically the result of a search .. the filters for which are a number of dropdowns and a couple of textboxes the data from the grid and dropdowns are saved in the session and the whole page lives inside an updatepanel when i navigate away from the page (as it happens by clicking a link inside the grid) and then back button to it, all the droppers are back to their unselected values and the grid is nowhere to be seen.. i understand that this is because of the scriptmanager doesnt do 'standard' postbacks so the browser doesnt realise what has happened. however i have set the EnableHistory to true in the scriptmanager is there an easy way to get this to remember without dropping the updatepanel/scriptmanager? also to complicate things further the scriptmanger /updatepanel is actually in a master page. so not really sure how i can get the navigate bits to work in the scriptmanager.. clearly i am a bit confuised and any help that someone could provide would be happily received thanks nat

How can I roll back if the user enters invalid inputs in some cell. I tried using the RowValidating event handler but it was not called after cell value has been changed. Even when I implemet CellValueChanged, I still cannot roll back the changes. Any idea how to accomplish this

  Im using wamp server for my php scripts. And Im having difficulties on the logout code. Every time I click on the logout link and then click on the back button on web browser it still shows the page which can only be access by the user who is logged in. I have this code at the beginning of the index.php which is called by the log out link to destroy the session: <?php session_start(); session_destroy(); ?> And I have this at the beginning of the user page: <? session_start(); if(!session_is_registered(myusername)){ header("location:login.php"); } ?> I don't know why the userpage can still be access after the user has logged out. So I'm thinking of disabling the back button when the user has logged out. Please help.

Does anyone knows how to call viewDidLoad just when I push it into the stack? Or do you know another way to change the BackButtom title? Thanks in advanced for your help.

These services could be coded in any number of programming langauges such as Erlang, Java, Python etc. However I am unsure of the best way to actually interface the back-end services with the web app. Requests to these services would be both synchronous and asynchronous. Would I use something like SOAP or JSON-RPC?? Any help greatly appreciated.

  In ColdFusion, I can parse a string of XML formatted data into an XML Object using xmlParse(). How can I convert it back into a string? When I tried using toString() it throws an error that "it can't convert complex object to simple objects....", which is ironic because that's what it's supposed to do. I need to use XMLTransform() which requires the first argument to be an xml string. But I also need to use xmlSearch() to get a node to pass into my transform, and xmlSearch returns an xmlObject. So now I need to put that object back into xml string format to pass into xmlTransform.

• Bitmap Crashing upon going back and re-entering Activity

  Hello, I'm not sure what is causing this...I have two Activities, first has a button that goes to the second. The second creates a Bitmap object, assigns it a picture from the sdcard and loads it into an ImageView. Problem is when I go into the second Activity, then press the back button, and then go back into the second Activity, it crashes. I have no clue why. I did an extensive google search but to no avail. I can post the source code if you want. Please let me know. Thanks in advance!   I have an old Access application that has a lot of code in forms and reports. The database is getting too large and I am thinking of moving the back end to SQL Server. My requirements are as follows: The DB needs to be multiuser and the users (3-5) will need to log in over the web I would prefer not to re-write the forms and reports in ASP or some other web front end. When I think about my choices, I see them as: Have an Access ADP front end and allows remote log-in to the server where it is stored. Not sure if it is possible for 2 users to simultaneously log in Distribute an ADP front end to the users, but I am not sure if it is possible to connect to a SQL Server back end over the internet, and the network traffic may be an issue. Any other solution? I appreciate all help. u

  Hi, I'm using a UINavController together with some UITableViews to display a kind of drill down for some data (e.g. like the Contact App). Works well. The only problem I have is, when I select a cell in the first table view it is highlighted, then the view switches to the next level and then, if I go back to the first level, the cell is still highlighted.   I have a class with a private vector of doubles. To access or modify these values, at first I used methods such as void classA::pushVector(double i) { this->vector.push_back(i); } double classA::getVector(int i) { return vector[i]; } This worked for a while until I found I would have to overload a lot of operators for what I needed, so I tried to change it to get and set the vector directly instead of the values, i.e. void classA::setVector(vector<double> vector) { this->vector = vector; } vector<double> classA::getVector() { return vector; } Now, say there is a classB, which has a private classA element, which also has get and set methods to read and write. The problem was when I tried to push back a value to the end vector in classA. void classB::setFirstValue(double first) { this->getClassA().getVector().push_back(first); } This does absolutely nothing to the vector. It remains unchanged and I can't figure out why... Any ideas?
