  • Email flow problem in Exchange 2003

    Hello colleagues, I have a problem whit some emails that are not being delivered to the user inbox. The SMTP server on the DMZ that receives email from the internet is a Symantec Brigthmail Gateway, this server reports that the message was delivered normally to the exchange server: The DMZ server forwars the incoming mail to the exchange server that is on the LAN segment, and the message tracking on the exchange server reports the email being submited to the advanced queue: I have done severals searches on google, without any luck. have any one of you guys experienced similar problems?   • How to manage multiple email addresses on multiple domains in Exchange

    Using Hosted Exchange Server, mostly because I use an iPhone, webmail & Outlook on 2 laptops. I want to keep everything consistent and unfragmented. Also, I want push notifications. I have 2 domains, a professional one & a personal one. Each domain has about 5 (give or take) email addresses I use for various purposes. Each domain also has a few parked domains (.net, .org, .info) aliased to the .com domain. I would like to keep emails from the 2 domains separated. Do I need an extra mail box, meaning extra expense or can I create another Exchange user on the same mailbox and create an extra account in Outlook? In either case I will have to wait for iOS4 on the iPhone to manage 2 Exchange accounts. Or am I better off just using a set of rules and folders? The aliased domains are another joy to behold entirely. It looks like I will have to add each email address variant individually. Alternatively, I reckon I may just leave the aliased domains at the pop3 host and let Outlook gather those as edge-cases. Surely I can't be the only one making my life this difficult. Anyone out there done this? From the left field - is this (much) easier in gMail? I'm not committed to Exchange (yet). Previously I used Outlook as a pop3 client with a set of filters to direct incoming traffic to folders. This worked with the aliased domains because my host directed all the aliased TLDs to the same mailbox.

One subject of the question is use of the program stunnel with program View Mail (run within Emacs) on a PC running Microsoft Windows, in order to read email from a server that requires use of TSL/SSL (Gmail).   • Issues with returned mail sent to web-based email domains

    My company is having issues with returned mail that we send out to external domains. A few weeks ago we replaced a firewall and changed ISP providers and began subsequently having issues RECEIVING emails from external sources because we hadn't updated our new IPs in the DNS records. After making the necessary configuration changes and setting up SMTP forwarding over port 25 to our mail server, everything was working fine up until a few days ago when we started having mail sent out returned to us. We aren't having any trouble communicating internally (to recipients on our domain) but it seems we're having trouble with outbound messages to web-based email recipients. (@hotmail, @live, @yahoo, @gmail...etc) Currently we are running Server 2003 SP2 and exchange 2003. I'm very unfamiliar with configuring Exchange and could really use some help in narrowing down the possibilities. I did some research and am becoming suspicious of Sender ID being the culprit due to our recent IP address change and the likelihood that Sender ID is identifying us as a fake domain. Am I going in entirely the wrong direction? Any input or guidance would be infinitely appreciated. This is the message that is returned when an outbound message fails...this particular one was sent to my @live.com account for testing purposes... Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients. The following recipient(s) could not be reached: [email protected] on 5/17/2012 3:02 PM There was a SMTP communication problem with the recipient's email server. Please contact your system administrator. Unfortunately, messages from xx.x.xx.x weren't sent. Please contact your Internet service provider since part of their network is on our block list. I tried a reverse DNS lookup and found that we are set up as a Forward-confirmed reverse DNS. So do I just need to contact my ISP and have them correct their DNS records or is this something I can solve on our end??

    I am getting in my inbox on gmail mail from multiple addresses. When I get e-mails in gmail I can choose reply-to address. Is there such a possibility in Evolution? I know that in the advanced settings, you can specify the return address for the account, but how to make sure that there was a list of multiple addresses and be able to choose just one? Or maybe there is a possibility that at once expose the return address for letters?

  • Outlook Marking Email as Junk Email

    I know. I sound like a spammer but these emails are completely legitimate email confirmations for people that have signed up for an account on this website we developed. These emails all make it through to various mail providers (gmail, yahoo, aol, hotmail/live) but they always get directed into the Outlook Junk Email folder. I am have tried using Zend Framework mail, PEAR Mail and phpMailer. All of those methods result in the same thing happening. This seemed to start happening after Microsoft released their update to the Outlook Junk Email filter in January of this year. This is the most basic test we could run and the above generated email gets dumped into the Outlook Junk Email folder. We have reverse DNS on the mail server and it matches the forward DNS, SPF and DKIM are set up and there is nothing "spammy" with the above content. Can anybody see something with the above code that could cause Outlook to mark it as Junk? Thanks!

    This is a tricky one - and I've always relied on techniques such as permission-based emails (i.e. only sending to people you have permission to send to) and not using blatantly spamish terminology. Of late, some of the emails I send out programmatically have started being shuffled into people's spam folder automatically - and I'm wondering what i can do about it. This is despite the fact that these particular emails are not ones that humans would mark as spam (specifically, they are emails that contain license keys that people have paid good money for, so I don't think they're going to consider them spam) I figure this is a big topic in which I am essentially an ignorant simpleton.

    As a newbie Postfix user, I've gotten so far and now I am stuck with a SMALL problem. I would like to configure my local network servers to send alerts and like using the following: 1) From address: [email protected] 2) From name: Hostname I can get #1 to work fine using smtp_generic_maps The problem is that on my email client, the name is listed as "root" - as in the header shows the following: Date: Sun, 29 Jul 2012 13:21:01 -0400 (EDT) From: [email protected] (root) To: undisclosed-recipients:; I'd like to change it to "From: [email protected] (Zeus)" I imagine that this can be done in the headers_check, but so far I haven't gotten anything to work and before I waste a ton of time trying to get this to work, I'd like to make sure I am on the right track. My aliasing and genericmaps are set up correctly (As far as I can see and know - the results are correct!). I just want to change that last bit in the From field to reflect the hostname. I would also like to add something in the subject of the outgoing messages for easy filtering - something like Subject: [Zeus.domain] - "Original Subject" Any suggestions are much appreciated.     I'm making a game designed with the entity-component paradigm that uses systems to communicate between components as explained here. I've reached the point in my development that I need to add game states (such as paused, playing, level start, round start, game over, etc.), but I'm not sure how to do it with my framework. I've looked at this code example on game states which everyone seems to reference, but I don't think it fits with my framework. It seems to have each state handling its own drawing and updating. My framework has a SystemManager that handles all the updating using systems. I don't have a loop like theirs that simply updates everything at the same time. I like my framework because it makes it easy to add new GameObjects, but doesn't have the problems some component-based designs encounter when communicating between components. I would hate to chuck it just to get pause to work. Is there a way I can add game states to my game without removing the entity-component design? Does the game state example actually fit my framework, and I'm just missing something? EDIT: I might not have explained my framework well enough. My components are just data. If I was coding in C++, they'd probably be structs. Systems handle inter-component communication. My systems also do not communicate with each other. They have separate functionality and can easily be kept separate. The MovementSystem doesn't need to know what the RenderingSystem is rendering to move the game objects correctly; it just need to set the right values on the components, so that when the RenderingSystem renders the game objects, it has accurate data. The game state could not be a system, because it needs to interact with the systems rather than the components. It's not setting data; it's determining which functions need to be called. A GameStateComponent wouldn't make sense because all the game objects share one game state. Components are what make up objects and each one is different for each different object. For example, the game objects cannot have the same bounds. They can have overlapping bounds, but if they share a BoundsComponent, they're really the same object. Hopefully, this explanation makes my framework less confusing.

We need to create content so as it can be passed to emailService and not sure how to design this. For example, in Customer registration, I have a customerFacade which is working between Controller and ServiceLayer, I just want to delegate this Email Content creation work away from Facade layer and to make it more flexible. Currently I am creating Registration email content inside customerFacade and some how I am not liking this way, since that means for each email, I need to create content in respective Facade. What is best way to go or current approach is fine enough?

    Background I recently signed up for an iTunes account, and found that somebody had fraudulently used MY email to register their iTunes account. Why Apple did not validate the email address, I will never know. Now I am told that I cannot use my email address to register a new iTunes account, as this email address is linked to an existing account. This got be thinking... Question How should we as developers handle email/identity theft? Obviously, we should verify that an email address belongs to the person it is said to belong to. Why Apple did not do this in my case, I have no idea. But lets pretend we use email address for login/account identification, and something slipped though the cracks (be it our end, or the users). How should we handle reports of fraudulent accounts?

The following Java code, which is part of a larger system, was developed for that. The mailbox of the "example.com" server never receives the email, even tough all string values in the code are correctly attributed.   • How to improve the HTML formatting in Evolution mail client

    I have a question about viewing HTML emails in the Evolution mail client. Basically, I am receiving some emails that look lovely in Thunderbird but not in Evolution because the HTML rendering of Evolution isn't as advanced. Does anyone know how to improve the HTML rendering of Evolution? e.g. a plugin, tip, code patch, etc... The closest I've got is to right-click the email, "Save As...", save as a html file, then open in Firefox. Not exactly streamline! What emails can't it display well? We use the subversion revision control system which is set up to send an email whenever someone commits via svnnotify all nicely coloured via the --handler HTML::ColorDiff -d parameter. When Evolution fails to use the colours, I find it very had to read the raw diff.

    I currently have an SPF record with a hostname of @ that is: v=spf1 mx ip4:x.x.x.243/32 include:_spf.google.com include:amazonses.com ~all I also have another record of" spf2.0/pra mx ip4:x.x.x.243/32 include:_spf.google.com include:amazonses.com ~all We have had a lot of email being bounced back because of spam and now when I go to http://www.kitterman.com/spf/validate.html? and check the "Does my domain already have an SPF record? What is it? Is it valid?" it says no spf record exists. However, when I send an email using our Amazon SES script and check the headers it says it passes the SPF test. Is there something I am missing? Do I need to place that text in quotes ""? Any help would be greatly apprecaited.

    Hello, I'm running a small hosting VPS with CentOS and I have installed the WHM/cPanel control panel. The problem is that the email, either sent from the cPanel webmail or other client like Outlook does not get sent out with no visible error message on the client side.
