  • How to set individual NTFS partitions permissions behaviour for each user account?

    I have two NTFS partitions (DOWNLOADS for downloaded files and VM for my VirtualBox .vdi file) for which i must have full permissions for my allday use account. They should be also automounting when i login to this account. But i've also set Guest account for guests. For Guest account, i want make VM partition fully disabled and invisible (and thus it mustn't automount) but DOWNLOADS partition should be shared with limited privileges with Guest account. Editing fstab i'm able to share DOWNLOADS partition with Guest on limited privileges but VM can be only set to limited and have disabled automounting - so guest can't mount it but it still can be seen in Nautilus, plus I must always mount it manually when i login to allday account. Is there some trick to make what i want?   • Is this bad practice?

    I just wanted to ask for your opinion on a situation that occurs sometimes and which I don't know what would be the most elegant way to solve it. Here it goes: We have module A which reads an entry from a database and sends a request to module B containing ONLY the information from the entry module B would need to accomplish it's job (to keep modularity I just give it the information it needs - module B has nothing to do with the rest of the information from the read DB entry). Now after finishing it's job, module B has to reply to a module C if it succeeded or failed. To do this module B replies with the information it has gotten from module A and some variable meaning success or fail. Now here comes the problem: module C needs to find that entry again BUT the information it has gotten from module B is not enough to uniquely find the exact same entry again. I don't think that module A giving more information to module B which it doesn't need to do it's job but which it could then give back to module C would be a good practice because this would mean giving some module information it doesn't really need. What do you think?

  • Why is the remove function not working for hashmaps? [migrated]

    I am working on a simple project that obtains data from an input file, gets what it needs and prints it to a file. I am basically getting word frequency so each key is a string and the value is its frequency in the document. The problem however, is that I need to print out these values to a file in descending order of frequency. After making my hashmap, this is the part of my program that sorts it and writes it to a file. //Hashmap I create Map<String, Integer> map = new ConcurrentHashMap<String, Integer>(); //function to sort hashmap while (map.isEmpty() == false){ for (Entry<String, Integer> entry: map.entrySet()){ if (entry.getValue() > valueMax){ max = entry.getKey(); System.out.println("max: " + max); valueMax = entry.getValue(); System.out.println("value: " + valueMax); } } map.remove(max); out.write(max + "\t" + valueMax + "\n"); System.out.println(max + "\t" + valueMax); } When I run this i get: t 9 t 9 t 9 t 9 t 9 .... so it appears the remove function is not working as it keeps getting the same value. I'm thinking i have an issue with a scope rule or I just don't understand hashmaps very well. If anyone knows of a better way to sort a hashmap and print it, I would welcome a suggestion. thanks

  • Should I be concerned about hAtom tags on my blog?

    I am using a theme that automatically adds hatom-entry, hatom-feed classes on my WordPress blog. I read that such tags/classes should be used for syndicated content. Anyway, then I ran a Rich Snippet Tool, which threw a "HAtomfeed" error. So I removed a "hfeed" div tag. Now, should I be concerned? Can this cause any problems? I still have a couple of these classes (listed below), and I just hope they do not effect my site's ranking. For now, these are the tags the Rich Snippet Tool has detected: hatom-feed hatom-entry: entry-title: entry-content: published: author: fn: person-name: url: Appreciate your help!   • Problem parsing an atom feed using simplexml_load_file(), can't get an attribute.

    Hi, I am trying to create a social timeline. I pull in feeds form certain places so I have a timeline of thing I have done. The problem I am having is with Google reader Shared Items. I want to get the time at which I shared the item which is contained in <entry gr:crawl-timestamp-msec="1269088723811"> Trying to get the element using $date = $xml->entry[$i]->link->attributes()->gr:crawl-timestamp-msec; fails because of the : after gr which causes a PHP error.     Hey, I want to read an Atom in Flex. I can see in the debugger that he can read the Atom and that there are entries, I can see each value. So far, so good. But when I want to assign a value from the atom to a variable, he never gives any text. It's always this: "". My code: ch.Name = xml.title; ch.Desc = xml.subtitle; ch.Updated = xml.updated; for each(var entry:XML in xml.entry) { var fee:Feed = new Feed(); fee.Name = entry.title; fee.Url = entry.link.@href; fee.Desc = entry.summary; fee.Updated = entry.updated; fee.Published = entry.published; ch.Children.addItem(fee); } For example this is the value ch.Name gets ch.Name = ""; But that's strange, because I can see in the debugger that it schould be "Tweakers.net".   • using jQuery to load the body of another HTML document between entries

    I'm trying to use jQuery to load the body of another HTML document, which contains our AdSense banner. It should display under each blog entry when in list view. I'm able to get it to load text, even images, but not the banner; the banner is a small script. Here is the website we are working with: http://neverknowtech.com/data/ (that's a test page, and the 'entry' displayed there contains the intended body content) As you can see here the body code does include an ad, and the word 'Ad'. The word 'Ad' is shown correctly below the post (as it is in list view) but the script for the Google Ad doesn't seem to make it. If entry has update, then update the data, if entry is new added, insert to the table then give a new assigned unique ID. However, I can only use SQL with simple select or update statement then it may too hard for me to write such code, then I hope someone with expertise can give direction, no details needed on the different of SQL variant, a standard sql code as sample is enough.     I'm trying to parse some XML I've gotten from the Google Data Booksearch API and I'm having trouble trying to target a specific element.   • Form Submitting Incorrect Information to MySQL Database

    I've created a form that submits data to a MySQL database but the Date, Time, Year and Month fields constantly revert to the exact same date (1st January 1970) despite the fact that when I submit the information to the database the form displays the current date, time etc to me. I've already set it so that the time and date fields automatically display the current time and date. Could someone please help me with this.     I can't get this working for the life of me. Here is a snippet of the xml I get from an RSS feed from itunes affiliate. If I use <xsl:call-template name="entry"> it will show only one entry and I have to use <xsl:value-of select="//*[local-name(.)='name']"/> to get name but that's a hack. I've used xslt before for xml without namespaces and xml that has proper parent child relationships but not like this RSS feed. Notice entry is not wrapped in entries or anything. Any help is appreciated. I want to use xslt because I want to alter the itunes link to go through my affiliate account - so something automated wouldn't work for me.

List<Entry<String, Integer>> li = new LinkedList<Entry<String, Integer>>(); would do the job for a list but I would rather have the performance of an array. I tried Entry<String, Integer>[] = new Entry<String, Integer>[10]; but that doesn't seem to work.

    Hi, I have an event listener (for Audit Logs) which needs to append audit log entries to the association of the object: public Company : IAuditable { // Other stuff removed for bravety IAuditLog IAuditable.CreateEntry() { var entry = new CompanyAudit(); this.auditLogs.Add(entry); return entry; } public virtual IEnumerable<CompanyAudit> AuditLogs { get { return this.auditLogs } } } The AuditLogs collection is mapped with cascading: public class CompanyMap : ClassMap<Company> { public CompanyMap() { // Id and others removed fro bravety HasMany(x => x.AuditLogs).AsSet() .LazyLoad() .Access.ReadOnlyPropertyThroughCamelCaseField() .Cascade.All(); } } And the listener just asks the auditable object to create log entries so it can update them: internal class AuditEventListener : IPreInsertEventListener, IPreUpdateEventListener { public bool OnPreUpdate(PreUpdateEvent ev) { var audit = ev.Entity as IAuditable; if (audit == null) return false; Log(audit); return false; } public bool OnPreInsert(PreInsertEvent ev) { var audit = ev.Entity as IAuditable; if (audit == null) return false; Log(audit); return false; } private static void LogProperty(IAuditable auditable) { var entry = auditable.CreateAuditEntry(); entry.CreatedAt = DateTime.Now; entry.Who = GetCurrentUser(); // Might potentially execute a query. // Also other information is set for entry here } } The problem with it though is that it throws TransientObjectException when commiting the transaction: NHibernate.TransientObjectException : object references an unsaved transient instance - save the transient instance before flushing. I also tried to modify the collection using state but pretty much the same happens. So the question is what is the last chance to modify object's associations before it gets saved? Thanks, Dmitriy.
